Astra 0 Posted 2 hours ago #1 Share Posted 2 hours ago (edited) It didn't take much time after defeating the Monkey King for Wulfrin and Astra to continue on with their travels. The pair (formerly accompanied by the druidic warrior Sewallus) took down the beast with ease, and now it was time to continue through the thick forests of Floor 8, to find what they really came here for...A battle with another large animal. This time, they were on the hunt for the legendary Kumatetsu, a being who seemed to be another piece of the puzzle laid out by the tablet they found. "Hmph. Can't believe Sewallus really left without even saying bye. That's kinda rude..." Astra continued to walk along the forest floor, keeping a close eye on the path ahead, and any branching paths forward. Once they found Kumatetsu or its lair, it would probably be pretty hard to miss. However, they'd have to pick up on tracks and locate it first. Periodically Astra would stop and crouch on the ground, doing his best to search for any tracks or traces of droppings that could give them an idea of where the monster wandered. "Hey, Wulfrin" Astra began as he continued to search for clues. "When we were fighting the Monkey King, you did something that seemed a bit...Different? It almost seems like your flames were emanating from you, or attached to your form, or something." The images of Wulfrin's flurry of blows against the Monkey King came back, and from the way Astra remembered it, it was almost as if Wulfrin had taken on a different form. "Is that normal for you? Are you feeling alright?" Not long after posing his question to his master, Astra stopped in his tracks. In front of his feet were gargantuan sized tracks, and through the brush and trees ahead, Astra thought as if he could hear a deep rumbling breathing. Some of the trees nearby were missing chunks of bark and wood, with gouges larger than Astra's head taking out chunks. That, as well as the stench of wild animal, let the group know that they had finally stumbled upon Kumatetsu's lair. Astra prepared himself for imminent combat, covering himself in his radiant white hooded cowl, his hair beginning to stand up in the back, and his sword in hand, now resting on his shoulder. "Alright master, what's the plan?" *** Post Action: Searching for Kumatetsu ID: 253614 | LD: 16 Astra | HP:570/570 | EN: 72/72 | DMG: 18 | MIT: 54 | ACC:7 | EVA: 2 | BH: 17 | REC: 2 | BLD: 24 Spoiler Name: Astra True Tier: 2 Level: 27 Paragon Level: 1 HP: 570/570 EN: 72/72 Stats: Damage: 18 Mitigation: 54 Accuracy: 7 Evasion: 2 Recovery: 2 Bleed: 24 Battle Healing: 17 Equipped Gear: Weapon/Armor/Trinket: - Seeker's Blade | T2 Perfect Straight Sword | DMG 2 | BLD 1 Armor/Trinket: - Seeker's Attire | T2 Perfect Light Armor | MIT 2 | REC 1 Shield/Armor/Trinket: - Initiates Draw | T1 Perfect Trinket | ACC 3 Combat Mastery: - Combat Mastery: Damage - Rank 3 Combat Shift: - TECH Shift Familiar Skill: - N/A Custom Skill: - N/A Skills: - Straight Sword R5 - Light Armor R5 Extra Skills: - Concentration Action: Free Action Cooldown: 5 Turns Effect: As a free action, gain Absolute Accuracy on your next attack. Wulfrin 0 Posted 57 minutes ago #2 Share Posted 57 minutes ago “Sewallus has a lot going on so it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.” Wulfrin responded, his eyes fixated on his gauntleted right hand. “He tends to just dip without notice. At least he’s got a bit more tact than Abdullah.” Wulfrin was absent deep into his own mental observations of the fight with Monkey King. The flames of his sword art which usually only clung to the blade he used to initiate the art, had instead seemed to originate from him. The similarities to how the shadows clung to him as a result of his run ins with the Gemini mobs was to say the least bone chilling. In recent adventures, Wulfrin had noticed an increase in physical strain when using the abilities his mentor had taught him and as a result Wulfrin had turned his attention to honing his own style of fighting. “I was hoping you wouldn’t have noticed,” Wulfrin sighed as he followed behind Astra deeper into the forest. “It’s not normal. Typically the Blazing Bite sword art simply wreaths my blade in fire not my whole body. Oddly enough it was a similar sensation to how the shadows cling to me. As it stands I don’t know how to invoke it nor what it even is.” He wasn’t lying. He hadn’t changed his method of invocation nor his skill loadout. For now the strange happenings eluded his mind. Wulfrin wasn’t going to just ignore it though. Should it happen to spark up again, he’d be taking careful mental notes. Wulfrin’s thoughts kept him distracted so much that he didn’t even realize they weee approaching Kumatetsu’s lair. It was Astra that snapped him back. ”Oh… right… uh…” Wulfrin stammered as he scrambled to plan for the current encounter. “First we snack. Then I’ll let you take point so that I can pull his aggro. You should be able to take a hit from him, but I’d rather be safe than sorry. As for the fight itself, more of the same mostly. That art you picked up from Sewallus can reduce a targets ability to reduce damage so when in doubt use that.” Wulfrin tapped the shard of metal that hung from a simple chain around his neck causing a fancy serving board to materialize in his hands that was filled to the brim with various meats and cheeses arrange in an elegant display. He offered a portion of the delicious feast to his student with an apologetic grin before drawing his Blade of Zariel and preparing for the fight to come. * * * Stats here
