At first glance, the place was kind of similar to the first floor and the town of Beginnings – cozy settlement, surrounded by farmland. But as he looked further out, he wanted to bury his face in a palm. Once again, the floor was a forest floor, though this one also had the benefit of having mountains far off in the distance. ”That’s it. I’m making my home on the seventh floor just so I have scenery that isn’t just more trees.” He kept his mumbled frustration quiet, out of earshot of the npcs, but he was honestly exasperated. At this point he was going to have to go out and explore some of the other floors just to see some bleeding diversity. As he waited for Mari to come out of the teleport, he pulled out some of his buff food items and started popping them – while he doubted she would let him contribute very much, this time Mari was injured so there was a decent chance he’d end up getting locked in a fight with something himself this time. He watched his buffs tick up and nodded, then pulled his hammer out and adjusted it, swinging a few times to get the feel for its heft again. After he was satisfied he let it rest on his shoulder as he looked at the npcs around them – then let out a snort as he realized that he was actually something of an idiot. Mari was still orange, and wouldn’t be appearing in the normal safe zone teleport. As soon as he remembered that he headed for the gates, sending her a message to let her know where he was. She half expected Reytac to be waiting on her, but it seemed to be the other way around. Surprising...really, considering she had to climb a flight of stairs to get to their destination and all he needed to do was scream out a cities name, and he was instantly whisked away. By Mari's feet sat a crate of potions, one of them already missing, cracked open and drunk by the woman to give herself the slight boost in damage she'd need to be able to wipe out swarms of enemies with a single strike. The woman wasn't sure how long she'd be able to keep using Oscars skill for. So she had planned to go hard, grab herself a large chunk of col to save for a rainy day. She may need it. The woman rubbed her right arm, it was still raw, pink, from her time being tortured. She'd need to spend a few solid days doing this to hit her target.... then there was the matter of collecting materials too. A small groan. Was a good thing Rey owed her a bunch. Not so much that she low balled him. Mari blinked, seeing a message from Reytac - she flicked one back, reminding him of the tree she was under. He must have forgotten she couldn't go into cities. Not uncommon for people. And she technically could have thrown on a disguise and been fine, but it wasn't worth the headache. A few more minutes passed and she saw his familiar figure approach. "Yo. He knew that Mari was pretty businesslike and would want to get going as soon as possible – and if both of them were needing materials as badly as it seemed, then he wanted to start as well. He glanced over as she fidgeted, reaching up towards her injured arm again, then frowned. She was a skilled alchemist so if he offered one of his crappy health potions to try helping that injury out, he would deserve the ribbing or ridicule he would most likely get. Instead as the two of them started walking into the woods, he made sure to stay on the side of her that matched that injury, keeping her damaged arm between them. It thankfully didn’t take him long to spot something, and he snagged a twisted bundle of roots that had wrapped around a heavy rock. He was able to separate the two without damaging either, leaving him with two materials that he called out to Mari about and tucked away in their own spot in his inventory so they didn’t get mixed up with his other supplies. If he was able to keep this kind of pace up, which he doubted sincerely, he’d be able to pay Mari back quickly and start on his own stockpile again which he desperately needed if he was going to make more gadgets. ”I definitely should have stocked up more on mats before I got crafting but no, I just had to get excited about being able to make traps and bombs, didn’t I?” While it was mostly under his breath, Rey didn’t mind if Mari heard him talking as he picked back up his hammer and resumed scanning the woods around them as they moved.
