{FO8-PP} A Willowed Grave

Recommended Posts

There was a time when Cascade had wandered souless. A being with no destination, no desire, no heart.

She was far from that now.

It was time she pay her respects and the Willow Grave on floor 8 seemed the perfect place to do it. Kersh had been gone a long time now, but never forgotten. He had been her mentor, her friend, a father. She mourned him, yes, but it was no longer all consuming. She walked each step with newfound purpose, something that pulled her forward rather than coaxing it out of her. Each step she took was her own. There was a reason for all this, a reason she was here, a reason he had died, a reason-

Crack

She spun looking behind her, nothing in sight. She grinned, "Alright Munchkin, come on out."

Nothing

She sighed, hands finding her hips, she looked up, Arenyx had been circling for awhile now. "Come on, before Arenyx comes after you." she called out a warning.

The child finally emerged from the bushes, arms crossed, pouting.

"It's no fair, you're too good at the game! Plus, Arenyx cheats, he gets to fly."

She chuckled, "Arenyx isn't cheating Bently, he's doing his job." Her tone stiffened, "Now what have I told you about following me?"

He pouted further, body language telling her his was far from willing to admit his wrong. She drew out his name, coaxing him to reply, "Bently?"

She raised a knowing eyebrow at him, he sighed and uncrossed his arms, letting them fall in defeat, he threw his head back looking everywhere but at her, "Ugh, you say not to follow you because it can be dangerous and the longer I follow you the farther I get from home which also isnt good because my parents will worry." he rolled his eyes and huffed.

She chuckled once again, he was such a silly kid. "Precisely, so run along home okay? But hey, I'll bring you something on the way back."

He brightened, "Really you mean it?" he beamed.

Gosh that was quick, she shook her head with a smile, "Yes, really." she let out a sharp, quick whistle, Arenyx flew down perching on her shoulder. She smiled at her feathered friend, "Arenyx, would you please escort Bently home?" Her companion cawed and flew over to Bently, landing on his head, playing in his bright hair. The child laughed and greeted Arenyx back. She waved them off, "See you soon." she called out.

Soon the pair was out of sight, Cascade was nearing her destination, noting that she was hungry, and....

Something caught her eye, a peculiarity amongst normality. In the far distance stood a woman, she appeared to be examining elven plants. It hadnt been the woman's height, nor her attire, nor the fact that she was even there....it had been the mask, it alone had caught her eye. She kept forward, not straying from her path, but she kept an eye on the woman, observing her, wondering about her. What was she doing here? Why was she masked?

Floor eight, a floor Frostmaw often found herself on, not because of the trees or the environment, but rather because of the residents of this floor. Elven architecture and their elegant weaponry, compared to her style of weaponry, she seemed almost barbaric, especially with the pelt hanging from her shoulders, and with the black metal gauntlet she uses as a weapon on her left arm. One thing that set her apart was the mask. The Green mask almost looked like a cat, with white and gold combined to make out the details. Her eyes were completely black, nearly void, with only one green glowing dot in each eye as she looked around, and so were the dots on her mask.

The mask kept her identity somewhat hidden. Sure, she never really was one to shy away from attention, but she joined way back and went on with the Masked Knight idea. It was fine for her, she enjoyed playing a role.

She looked at some of the plants. She was here because an NPC elf asked her to hunt down some plants that would be around in this area. Simple fetch quest, there were many of those. But this gave Frostmaw the chance to have a little bit of fun of her own by acting the part she chose for herself. Plus, the NPC said something about finding the right flower, one that would hold memories of her son. It sounded sweet, and all, but Frostmaw first needed to find this flower. It was rare to find one, and then she had to find the correct one, without damaging it, and return it to the Elven lady.

Her ears caught some noise someone seemed to approuch, not her in particulair but the area around her. She got up from her knee and looked towards the general diraction of the sounds and saw a lady walk up, white hair glistering in the sun and a smile appeared underneath Frostmaw's mask, not that anyone would see that. As the lady was close enough Frostmaw nodded her head in a small gesture calm and quietly walked around as she crossed her arms, "Well hallo there miss," She said her voice calmly and elegently No one would mostly notive the slight Russian Accent as she greeted the lady. "Out for a small stroll towards the Willow."
