Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #2 Share Posted 1 hour ago As she grabbed a random sword from the chest as her HUD chimes, “Ah right on queue” as she quickly gathers the rest of the equipment from her chest so that she does not need to come back here. After a few more passing minutes she opens her HUD and accepts the challenge in laymen's terms. It was not really a challenge, it was a suggestive moment to show NPC’s or rather the Fomorian's what she could do and what they would be up against if they ever decided to challenge her. Flipping something into her hands, she waves her hand through the air and creates a portal. Taking one last glance around making sure she wasn’t missing anything. Running through a check list in her head. She had the wood that she collected earlier. Taking out a zippo, flicking the cap up and back down before walking into the portal. Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #3 Share Posted 1 hour ago Walking outside the portal, standing in front of the long drawn out path leading up to the mountain top. Looking up to the stars in the sky as the entrance vanished behind her. Pulling her gloves up so that they were tighter around her fingers. Footfall starts trailing up as a small flash of light is seen. Morrighan would see a man with black curly hair standing there, barely getting up the path. With a twist of her head, before she could even speak “I know this is odd but I wanted to meet you myself without all the staring. I have heard nothing short of brilliant things about you Nisahime.” Crossing her arms herself trying to get a read on this dude. There was no anger, no smartass remarks, not a single thing indicating that this was a trick. In all regards the man was a fan, and straight to the point. Knowing that if this person was awakened already he would have a different name. “So does my admirer have a name?” Quest Objective | Meeting Hermes, messenger of the gods. Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #4 Share Posted 1 hour ago “The name is Sully, a normal foe with the eye of a hawk. I was the best at what I did in my town. I can only think that you have a different way of doing things so instead I will follow your lead in hopes to learn something new from such a unique woman. That is, if it is okay with you? All I ask is that you walk me through what you are doing.” This was definitely different, usually she would not be bothering with someone like this but from the beginning he has had nothing but honesty. It was also the fact that he came to her instead of having her walk all the way up the damned hill to even talk to him. “Okay I will bite, but only because you didn’t make me do the useless walk up to the cathedral. I will be making a perfectly crafted camp fire first, it will make sense soon.” Quest Objective | Initiating a challenge set out by Hermes WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #5 Share Posted 1 hour ago Looking into the distance up the path she could see Shiko standing there staring down at her waving. Pulling a hand up as to say hi back before she turns to head back down. Turning right and following the rocky walls right into a cavern. At first it was dark, reaching down she would click her lantern on as it would light the cave. It would reveal walls were both gleaming and dripping liquid. One would think it was just condensation or that the interior was just really wet. Only she would know the truth and it was a very old one. Glancing back at Sully his eyes were wide, full of amusement. “This place is full of Nature's emotions. If you pick the plants here they will wail in horror. If you mine the ore here it will cry out in pain, the walls will bleed with sadness. If you listen carefully you can hear words being spoken but nothing can be seen. This is where we will be doing my thing. Simply because it is full of so many intense feelings and energy, makes for a great source of power.” WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #6 Share Posted 1 hour ago Observing the ground while she spoke to find the perfect rocks for the job. They had to be rounded to perfection on the top like a half circle and completely flat on the bottom. Finding one, she would pick it up and show Sully to indicate that this is what she was looking for. They would split off to find them, she would meet back up with him a few minutes later. Holding five as he would have another five in his hands. Setting hers on the ground to investigate the ones in his hands, they were actually on point. Maybe he did have a good eye like he said. Leaning down on the ground, setting all the rocks gathered in a perfect circle. This was only the first step. Scrambling through the stuff in her inventory, she realized that she forgot the wood. A deep annoying sigh she would get up and look down at Sully. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #7 Share Posted 1 hour ago “I need to chop wood, would you care to help?” Sully would shrug his shoulders, that was a good enough yes for her. While in her inventory she would click on two chopping blocks. Pulling out two hatchets, handing him one as well. “Start chopping, I am going to need a good amount.” The man nods his head and gets to his feet. A snap of her fingers with a glowing white light, her gear would switch on the fly. A carpentry outfit made to perfection, a deep red and brown color, for this specific action like all the other clothing that she kept close. The sounds of wood slicing echoes the cavern halls. It was a bit loud but it was something that she was used to. It was actually pretty quiet to everything going on in her head right now. Checking on Sully, there were only two wood boards on the ground. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #8 Share Posted 1 hour ago Glancing down at her feet there were ten and counting. It was clear that she was better at this than he was but she would not complain with the little bit of help that he was willing to give. After a bit of time passed by there were about 30 laying at her feet while Sully only had ten. Giving a small chuckle she would walk a few steps to the left and grab a whole ass work bench from her inventory. This got Sully’s attention, “I have never seen anything like that before. What is it used for?” He would grab the small pile of wood in his arms and drop it on the ground near the bench. “Glad you asked, it’s for making these crappy planks into something useful, watch.” Pulling out two pieces of equipment, she would begin to carve light against a few of the planks. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #9 Share Posted 1 hour ago With a flash of light they would all combine into a slightly darker shade of wood that was a bit smaller than the last. “This is called average firewood. It takes three pieces of this firewood to make. Every three average makes a fine firewood and for every three fine makes a finest firewood. I need ten of the finest firewood. So If you would not mind gathering some more from the chopping block while I work.” Sully would nod his head and do what was asked of him. There was no why or for what just action, Sully was already making this much easier by not playing the 20 question game. As he would begin to collect more wood she would continue carving the 30 plus firewood that she did have. As time passed slowly she could hear the moaning and whimpers of people that were here before her time. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #10 Share Posted 1 hour ago There was a whole history of this place that no one but a few selected people knew about. It was one of those stories that were lost in time. If what happened here was ever relived in this time, it would most certainly be world war 4. Setting only two pieces of finest wood aside, 8 more to go. Glancing down there was a small gathering of firewood, it would only get her so far so she would walk away placing the tools in her deep pockets and start chopping down on the other block. This might be the longest part of this whole thing. Morrighan could just leave really fast and grab what she already made but she did not know what would happen if she went into the World That Never Was, what it would do to the quest and Sully. Besides, Sully made decent company, he did what he was told like a good little boy and that was good enough for her. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #11 Share Posted 1 hour ago Having another 50 firewood under her feet, glancing at the other pile that was only 15. A light smile as she would take the other tools out and snap her hatchet to her belt. The man would bring his pile to add to her collection as she worked. After some time of gathering firewood and creating finest she ended up with 15 finest. She knew that this was going to take a while, a little less time because of the help which was nice. Sending the chopping blocks back to her inventory as she would take the hatchet back from Sully. The dude would sit and watch what Nisahime did next. Setting the finest firewood in the middle of the firepit, she would take out her zippo and flick the top up as it revealed fire. Grabbing a little bit of blank parchment from her pocket, crumbling it into a ball with one hand as she tosses it into the pit. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #12 Share Posted 1 hour ago Leaning down she would let the paper flash into a small flame as the fire began to dance over the small wood pile. Morrighan knew that she could probably just snap her fingers and ignite the flames that way but she was really all about the old fashion way. It was always how she had done it and she was not going to stop just because she was trapped in a game that was like trying to take the souls away from her people. “This next part might seem a bit confusing but it will all make sense soon” saying as she stands and snaps her fingers. Again with a flash of white light her entire wardrobe changes in a split second. Turning away from the fire she would open her inventory and start dropping the equipment that she grabbed for this reason alone onto the ground. By all means everything she was getting rid of was useless crap that no one had any reason to use. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #13 Share Posted 1 hour ago This technique was not something familiar to others but it was her version of appraiser by system standards. To her it was called enchanting, glancing at Sully over her right shoulder. The dude was sitting criss cross with both hands glued to his knees leaning slightly forward. He really was investing in this learning thing, more than she could say about some people that she had come across in her long life. After a little more time passes, all the unwanted gear would be scattered on the ground. It was by no means neat but that was okay. This pile was huge, she had been keeping it since the very beginning because she knew that she would eventually need it for this specific event. “Now watch as I toss this in” she would say to Sully as she grabs one of the many weapons and sets it in the fire. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #14 Share Posted 1 hour ago As it was placed it began to spark and sizzle but because of how the fire was made the metal was not being melted like one would assume it did. Instead the metal reddened and suddenly burst with a white light. Next to the campfire there was a little baggy, it was purple with a gold ribbon holding the top together. “Why did the metal just not melt?” That was the million dollar question and one that she came to expect simply because how she did things was very odd to anyone around her. “The gear I have here has a special skill on them, so instead of burning the weapon it burns the enhancement off of it and shatters whatever it was currently on. The camp fire had to be very specifically made like this one to do such a thing. That” pointing at the little baggy on the ground, "Allows me to place it on a different weapon, armor or trinket.” WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #15 Share Posted 1 hour ago “Not sure why I am so surprised that you are doing it this way. You as a person are unique so seeing something so different in your technique is refreshing.” Twisting her head for a moment, was that supposed to be a complement. “Thanks I think” saying as she sets another weapon on the open flame. After a few seconds another flash and baggy drops on the cavern floors. “You can only burn one at a time or bad things will happen, worst case scenario you will seize to exist and the cave will be no more than a void of nothingness.” Tossing another piece of equipment into the fire as it would sizzle and pop. “Most likely you will just burn alive and respawn back at the cathedral a couple days later.” Glancing at Sully seeing his expression change from excitement to pure terror, Morrighan on the other hand had a grin perched on the side of her lips. Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #16 Share Posted 1 hour ago The warning was set, the big thing was whether or not he took that point to heart or not. His choice, she could only really provide the means of suggestion, it was up to them on the path that they would choose to follow from here on out. There was only one challenge after this one and she was interested in knowing how they would all grow knowing who they are now. She was slightly wrong about one thing though, this was the longest part of the challenge only because she had to do one piece of gear at a time, wait for the baggy to appear and then toss another one in. It was very time consuming. Eyes flicker to the time on the right side of her figurative screen and see that it was just after 7 pm. This really was taking longer than she had hoped but she could not go fast with this if she wanted perfection. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #17 Share Posted 1 hour ago Another hour passed and there were no words being exchanged between her and Sully. He seemed to really focus on the activity and it really did seem like he wanted to learn from her. Hopefully this was teaching enough for him because she already had way too much on her plate and she could not very well just drop everything and rush to the man if he had any questions about this technique. “Any questions you have has to be asked now. I will not be coming back to assist you for a very long while so now is the time to lay it all on the table.” Shifting her attention to Sully as he was staring into the fire. “I have no question, you are a great teacher and I am honored to have had this opportunity to learn your ways.” The man would get to his feet and start to dig through his pockets. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 1 hour ago Author #18 Share Posted 1 hour ago Pulling out an amulet from his pocket, “I hope this will help you in the way that it needs to. You have more than earned your spot in our world and we would all be honored for you to come back and just talk or hang out. It has been a real pleasure Nisahime” as he would outreach toward her with his hand and the trinket’s string dangling from his fingers. Grabbing it lightly as to not tear the man's hand off, “Thank you and I will think about it.” She really would too, now that the smattering of people didn’t think of themselves as real gods she might be able to get them on her side and make herself strong for it. God only knew that she would need all the power that she could get. They would exchange a nod before he would turn and begin to walk out of the cave. Quest Objective | Overcoming said challenge. Nisahime 0 Posted 59 minutes ago Author #19 Share Posted 59 minutes ago Glancing down at the multiple baggies that were adding up with every piece of equipment she was throwing in, “Sully” she would call out as she would pick up one of the purple bags that was tied with a golden ribbon. Tossing it toward him as he turns and catches it. “Explore your profession more, it might help you in the long run” as the man would smile back at Morrighan before finally heading out of the cave. It was only her and this dam equipment now with a hot flame. She would continue this until all of it was gone so that she didn’t need to do this again. Every now and again she would put another piece of finest firewood in to ensure that the camp fire was not going to go out. That was another important factor that she did not mention to Sully but if he had any common sense then it would not matter. WC:
Nisahime 0 Posted 56 minutes ago Author #20 Share Posted 56 minutes ago Tossing the last enhanced armor in, waiting till the bag popped out before gathering all of them from the ground and by god was there a lot. Taking the last powder into her grasp as the fire would drizzle out leaving nothing but a smoke that started illuminating inside the cave. Anyone that would come in here at first would be literally smoked out. This was fine because she did not know if many people actually knew about this place. Brushing her hand across the air as a portal would appear in front of her. It was so nice not to have to find a spot that worked, this time she could just split because she was not up by the large white building. Walking through the entrance after grabbing the remaining firewood on the ground, she knew that she was going to need it soon so she would keep it till then. When the portal vanishes behind her she would begin to put the chopping blocks where they were meant to go. That” pointing at the little baggy on the ground, "Allows me to place it on a different weapon, armor or trinket.” “Not sure why I am so surprised that you are doing it this way. The warning was set, the big thing was whether or not he took that point to heart or not. Another hour passed and there were no words being exchanged between her and Sully. Pulling out an amulet from his pocket, “I hope this will help you in the way that it needs to. Glancing down at the multiple baggies that were adding up with every piece of equipment she was throwing in, “Sully” she would call out as she would pick up one of the purple bags that was tied with a golden ribbon. Tossing the last enhanced armor in, waiting till the bag popped out before gathering all of them from the ground and by god was there a lot.
