[SP-F4] The Ice Dragon

Recommended Posts

Oske paused. She had to defeat this dragon in order to obtain ice crystals, then create a new weapon for her guild initiation. She knew that the dragon, in its dungeon, had a treasure chest along with the loot it had after defeated. Oske was confident that she could defeat this respawning boss, as she defeated it last time with Rage, but... wait.

Maybe things were harder now.

Approaching the icy mountain, Oske saw the hole that was the entrance to the cave. With a deep breath, equipping her sword, she entered.

A little plump, which was a fluff-ball with horns and beady eyes, spawned before Oske as she walked in. She had never seen it before. "Ooh, it's so cute!" Osk exclaimed. She reached down to pick it up and hug it, but it bit down on her hard. "Oww! What the heck!?"

Oske shook her arm to get the stupid plump off her. It landed with a thump, but took no damage.

With a furious slash, Oske swung her sword and cut at the stupid Plump. Its health dropped to the redzone, and Oske grinded her teeth. How dare this cute little mob excuse itself to be harmless, then bite her? She was going to make it DIE. She ran forward to attack it again, as the Plump coward in fear.

The plump suddenly jumped at Oske, attempting to bite Oske again. She easily lifted her shield and deflected the Plump as it flew at her. She watched as it crumpled to the ground, leaving her open to attack. This floor was really to easy for her. Oske wondered if it was possible for her to fight higher up, but... the fear of dying was too strong for her.

She didn't have to worry about that now, though. This little Plump was no threat to her... but maybe something in there could be. Oske swallowed at the thought.

"Pathetic," Oske sighed. She kicked the Plump, and as it hit the wall it shattered with a squeal of pain. She blinked slowly, looking around. She then realized there were two paths--one to left, and one to the right. The left one was larger, and the right one was darker. Oske didn't remember seeing this at all. She assumed the dragon would be in the bigger cave, though. So, she walked down that pathway.

As a Snow Goblin spawned, Oske instantly slashed twice. She cursed herself--she could've used a sword art, but she left out the formation of the Crescent Cross. The Goblin roared with rage, its beady red eyes narrowing. Oske swallowed. Something just didn't seem right... this was so much easier before when she was with Rage and she got the Crystals! What was going on? She swallowed, jumping back in hopes to avoid the Goblin's attack that was probably going to happen very soon.

The Goblin charged forward, shaking its big fat arm furiously. It pounded on Oske, but her armor deflected the damage. She took a deep breath. She was so grateful that Rage created that armor... well, and she was grateful she made the shield herself as well. She readied her sword again, hoping she could kill this stupid thing off quickly. The Goblin stared at her as it charged again.

With three slashes, Oske perfectly executed her "Crescent Cross" sword art. She then flipped backwards, panting as the red lines glowed on the beast. It was in the red zone now, and she knew its end would come soon. With a grin, she snickered. This was really just too easy... She'd kill that dragon when it showed up, easy-peasy. The Goblin began to charge at her again, registering the emotion of rage when it was hit.

With a furious bash, the Snow Goblin attempted to slam Oske to the ground. She was knocked over by the force, but took no damage. She felt so... strange. Some sort of joy bubbled up in her stomach, but it was a sick joy. The joy of destruction and death, perhaps. She had told herself so many times that she wouldn't let this world get to her--no, she loved this world!--but... something about this feeling made her happy in a twisted way. A glint of panic and joy rose into her eyes as she stood up.

Oske burst out laughing. The Goblin seemed confused. She smiled at it. "Ooh, you little stupid thing! You think you're a threat. It's truly hilarious. I might not be a front-liner, but you're easy enough to kill!" With a menacing cut, the Snow Goblin burst into beautiful blue shards. She waited for another enemy to spawn, ready to kill it as fast as she could as well. At the time, she saw no foe. She continued her walk.

As Oske entered a cavern with no exits, an icy wall appeared behind her and locked her in. She whipped around to stare, then looked back up at the ceiling when she heard a loud roar. A huge icy dragon roared and flew downward at her. She dodged the bite, and she was sent flying backwards, her chestplate narrowly saved her from damage. She ground her teeth in a snarl, readying herself to attack.

Launching herself into the air by using the dragon's tail, she jumped and spun downward. With a furious slash, she cut the back of the dragon's neck and dealt three points of damage. She kept her sword stuck into the stupid dragon's back, trying to hold herself up as it thrashed and roared in attempts to remove the player from his spine.

The dragon threw Oske off. She slammed against the wall, ice crackling behind her armor. She hit the floor, and quickly checked her HP. Nothing had gone down. She jumped up and pumped her fist. Even though she hated him now, "Thank god for Rage!" she exclaimed. She had the best chestplate in the world thanks to him. The dragon didn't seem to care, however, as it roared and charged at her.

Oske dodged out of the way, and the dragon slammed its head against the wall. She watched as ice cracked and began to fall apart, and she ran along the dragon's side and dug her sword in the direction she was dashing. With a mighty roar, the dragon lifted its head and pulled away from the icy wall. Oske jumped back a few steps, skidding on the ground but still holding her stance strong.

The dragon slapped its tail to the side. Oske gasped, lunging to dodge, but only was hit by the scaly mass and sent flying. She slammed against the wall again, gripping her shoulder and panting. Luckly, no damage had been taken, yet again. She sucked in a breath and turned to face the dragon. He was pathetic, yet it was going to take a while to kill him with his high health. But Oske had all the time in the world.

Oske, with a grind of her teeth, jumped onto the dragon's tail. She slashed down hard, and with a 'thunk' her sword bit the floor. The dragon roared in pain, lashing its tail away. It was missing half of it now, leaving a glowing reddish hunk where the tip had been. It snarled, eyes blazing with rage. Oske watched as his health fell a little, nearing the yellow zone. This fight would soon be over.

With a 'ding' sound, Oske leveled up. She smiled, and she relaxed to celebrate in her head for a moment too long. The dragon turn, sucked in a breath of air, and roared out an icy flame. Oske watched as the damage done by the dragon actually hurt hurt this time, and her health bar suddenly had a little blue cap on it. She found herself frozen, and unable to move. Her breath was shaking in the cold, and when she tried to move her arms... nothing happened.

With a swing of the dragon's claw, Oske was knocked into the air. While she was flying in a way, the dragon breathed more cold breath onto her body, freezing her even more. She hit the wall from the force of the blast, losing another point of health. Her armor was protecting her, but not by much. She gasped for air, shaking in the nonexistent pain she still felt as the dragon approached her. She was in trouble.

Oske shuttered as her body felt like it was splitting in two from the pain of being frozen. How could this virtual world have such an effect on her body? She remembered, it was just like a dream. You felt pain in your dreams, didn't you? She took a deep breath while the dragon approached her. She realized she had to move. The dragon roared with rage and lunged at Oske, but she somehow managed to break free of the icy grip just in time to roll out of the way. As she did so, there was a "ding" sound as she leveled up, and a smile spread across her face. It wasn't luck, all of her conditions had been dropped when she leveled up. She now had a full health bar.

Oske ground her teeth in a snarl as she ran at the dragon. It easily flapped its wings and clung to the top of the cave. It knew it was running low on health, and it began to growl with eyes glowing red. She looked up at the dragon, then slowly realized that it had an advantage. She couldn't run up the walls to get it without any leverage. She couldn't use even her acrobatics skill. The dragon now had the upper hand.
