[PP-F5] Heated Sands (Lessa)

Recommended Posts

Zerva had decided to, against his better judgement, explore the vast reaches of the desert in search for anything of interest. His gaming experience lead him to think there would be hidden ruins or treasure or somesuch just waiting to be discovered and pillaged! So far however, he was having no luck in finding what he wanted, or anything at all. The only thing he could see was endless sand and the occasional mirage, leading him to slowly believe the desert was just a repeating corridor type of map, where he would walk to the end and start from the beginning again. With this in mind he made sure not to get turned around or confused, lord knows finding your way back to town would be important when he grew tired of the ceaseless landscape.

A bead of sweat finally lost its hold on her temple and slid down her cheek. With one swift motion, the woman wiped it away with the back of her hand, her pace never changing. The crunch of sand under her boot was the only sound, and from what she could gather, she was the only player around. All that surrounded her was haze, strangely shaped mirages that gave her a headache when she squinted at them. The back of her cloth clothing was damp beneath her large claymore, which remained strapped to her back. Its faint pink glow was barely visible beneath the blinding light of the sun. Why did I come out here? She found herself asking, yet again.

She took a shallow breath, drawing in the hot air, and imagining it scalding the inside of her lungs. Lessa had never done well in hot climates. Even the mild summers back home, rarely seeing eighty degrees, had been too much for her. But she continued to walk. She had come out to hone her combat skills, accumulating experience so that she could be more dependable alongside Kiluia and Alkor. Yet she had encountered no enemies in the hours she had been walking. Then came that voice in the back of her mind again. Where am I even going?

Then, in the distance, she made out the fuzzy outline of another player. "Mirage?" She asked aloud, softly. It may have been. But just to be safe, the girl raised her hand toward the individual. This time, she cried out. "Hello?"
