[PP-F1] The Boaring Grind [Hari, Clouds, Hakiro]

After killing the boar, I continued proceeding further into the plains. There were no more boars in sight, as the beta-testers probably have all cleared the boars and are already moving on to stronger monsters. In this distance, I saw another player. He seemed to be waiting for boars to spawn as well, so I said hello to him. Maybe I could find someone to level together with me.

Contemplating my future actions in this nightmare of a game, I stare off into the distance, only to find a lone female wielding a rapier in the distance. Getting my act together, I approach the stranger and openly greet them. "Hey you over there! Need some company?". Man I sure sounded like a catcaller back I thought as I frowned on the inside.

"Hello!" said Hari, just happy to see another person wanting to clear the game. "Want to hunt some boars and gain some experience together?", Hari asked, "Everyone who participated in the fight will get drops!". Then Hari realized a distant figure. It was a familiar figure that she had seen earlier in the Starting Town. It was Clouds, one of my friends who decided to stay at the Starting Town. Hari quickly ran towards Clouds, and asked her why she was out here.

Clouds was walking along the plains, deciding what to do next, when she saw her friend from school, Hari, running towards her. When asked why she was out here, Clouds responded, "I'm out here because I've decided that I should try to get stronger, if I'm going to be trapped in this game." Cloud asked, "What's your story, Hari, and who's that person over there? I don't recognize him."

"Well I told you earlier that I left the Starting Town at once to train off some monsters", said Hari. "I've already killed a boar and received some currency and a skill point!". "And about the other person over there, I just saw him a few minutes ago and we are planning to do some levelling up together. If you care to do the same, why don't you join us too?" asked Hari, "The more people we have in our party, the lower the chances that we will be in danger and we can maybe even take on some tougher monsters than these boars".

"Sounds good," Clouds responded. "Working in a team always gives better results. " Turning to the stranger accompanying Hari, she said, "My username is Clouds, and I'm a friend of Hari. It's nice to meet you. What's your name?" she asked formally.

"Im Yatsu Hakikuro! But you can call me Hakiro for the cheap price of just 500 Col!" Says Hakikuro, teasing Cloud. "Well anyways! enough with idle chatter, lets go slay some boars!". Revealing a wide grin, Hakiro is relieved to have fould accomplices in the game already.

Right after Hakiro finished his sentence, Hari noticed something in the distance. It was a boar that has recently spawned. "Let's get it before some beta testers arrive!" exclaimed Hari. Everyone charged directly for the boar. However when getting closer to the boar, it seemed a lot larger than the previous boar that Hari had slain.

Clouds readied herself for her first combat experience in SAO. She assumed a standard kendo stance, as she had done so many times before during her kendo training. To her, the boar was just another training dummy in the dojo. She lifted her two-handed sword, ran towards the boar and dealt it a heavy blow.

Without any real prior combat training, Hakiro charged the boar head on, planning to thrust clean through the boar. However, the boar managed to quicky sidestep the attack leaving Hakiro rushing straight past the boar.

Hari charged the boar with her rapier. When she was about to stab the boar with her rapier, she lost her balance and fell onto the ground. Meanwhile, the boar charged past Hari and tackled Clouds, dealing some damage to her. Hari then gets up of the ground and prepares her rapier for the next attack on the boar.

As Hari fell on the ground while trying to attack the boar, Clouds was tackled by the boar. Due to the force of the boar's tackle, Clouds was disoriented for a few moments. She took a dazed swing in the general direction of the boar but missed by a wide margin.

Seeing the Cloud and Hari fail miserably, Hakiro again thrusts at the boar. However, due to his uncontrollable laughter from the other two fall over, Hakiro's hand slips and only grazes the boar, doing no significant damage.

After all the failing, Hari eventually had enough of it. She was going to put everything she had in the next attack to defeat the giant boar. The boar charged at Hari, but she easily dodged it without tripping. Then Hari grabbed her rapier and leaped straight at the boar while it was changing directions. The boar was taken completely by surprise and just disintegrated into blue shards and disappeared as soon as the rapier pierced through its body. After, Hari discovered something on her screen, "LEVEL UP".

Clouds noticed a drop screen from the boar.  There wasn't much from killing such an insignificant sort of monster. Absentmindedly, she accepted the drops from the boar, and wondered if it was really worth the effort. Although she earned some experience from killing the monster, she had taken damage and needed to heal it off quickly. She looked at her party-mates health bars. Not a scratch. It looks like she was the only one that had made a mistake during this battle. She wondered: "If I took damage from a boar, what would happen if I was fighting a stronger monster?" After thinking this over, Clouds decided that she would work to become stronger, so she wouldn't die in this world.

Hari was super happy to be able to deal the killing blow to the boar, and is ready for any adventures in the future. She was now level 2 as well, making her a step ahead of most players in Aincrad. "Come on guys, let's kill some more boars and try to make it to the forest area by tomorrow!" she said, unable to keep her excitement down.

Looking at the estatic Hari, Hakiro wondered if the group would continue fare well in the digital masterpeice. Interrupting his thoughts was Cloud's cold stare which reminded him to prioritize his survival for the upcoming journey. "Alright, a few more and off to the city we go?" Hakiro asked the group.

The motley crew of the three adventurers continued on their journey on the First Floor. As the three took a steady pace through the grasslands in the outskirts, an endless green surrounded them, and the Starting City slowly became smaller in size until it was only a small decoration on the blue early afternoon sky of Aincrad. It was almost peaceful. Clouds took some bread out of her inventory, and nibbled on it during the journey, eventually finishing it.

 

Eventually, Clouds noticed a rustling in the tall grass in front of them. "Stop, there's something ahead," she told the others. As if on cue, two wild boars appeared in the tall grass. They looked weaker than the one that the group had fought before, but only by a little, and there were two of them

As soon as the boars jumped out of the tall grass, Hari was ready to strike. She was still very confident after her great victory last battle and levelling up, so she leaped forward with her rapier. Hari attempted to charge at one of the boars to deliver the killing blow and kill it one hit as she has done before, but she accidentally slipped again due to her clumsiness and fell on the ground, being unable to attack. Hari then gets up, still ready to fight after recovering from another embarrassing situation.

Learning from his previous mistakes, Hakiro decided to instead wait for an opportunity to attack the closest boar. As the boar advanced towards the trio, Hakiro sees an opening and stabs at the boar, delivering a clean cut along its side.
