Harumi's life was nothing special in other's perspectives. She had an older sister to look up to, a mother and father who loved her dearly, and friends that had her back no matter what. She likes to stare up at the sky, imagine, and meet new people. Due to constant day dreaming she grew up to be quite quiet around others, making it seem like she was sky, which she was not. She just didn't like to be spontaneous is all. Her relationship with her family was well constructed, it wouldn't falter anytime soon.

As Harumi grew up she had been influenced by the people around her. She had begun to like what they liked, listen to what they listened to, and watch what that they watched, and that was anime to be precise. Anime changed her life in different ways, her writing improved from the extensive vocabulary, she began to learn small amounts Japanese, and she even learned some life skills. Her liking to anime became stronger as she grew older and wanted to do things like go to conventions and such. As a middle school aged student there weren't many options to make money, so she did chores and did a few baby sitting jobs during the week. Of course every Saturday she would tune in and watch the new releases of the animes that debuted. Harumi was smart enough to save up for something, she didn't know what but she knew something would come along that would be worth the money she had been storing. After awhile the NervGear came out. Harumi was short on the price by a little bit but her parents decided to buy it for her as a gift. She wanted to pay for her own game though. There was one in particular that some of her friends spoke of so she thought it would be a good idea to start out with that one. Harumi waited in line for hours and hours until she got the game she wanted, Sword Art Online.

At school she was pretty much what you would call "normal", noting outrageous happened with her. She wasn't a math wizard, a musical prodigy, she could barely hold a B in her classes. Her classmates didn't really understand anime, didn't know what to make of it so she couldn't really talk about it to anyone, expect for her small circle of friends that liked the same things she did. In school she was a little bit more quiet, but that was only because she was always daydreaming. In class she would also play on her beloved Gameboy.

After buying SAO, she skimmed the manual and learned the basics of the NervGear. Harumi found it quite interesting that it had to scan you before you went into the game thought. Since she was still a noob she didn't question it and moved forward. Grabbing a pen and paper she laid down on her bed and wrote a note. "Mom and Dad, I'll be back in a few hours for dinner, so excited for whatever mom makes! Thank you so much for this gaming system. I love you! Love, Harumi." She placed the piece of paper on her bed and stared up at the ceiling. After a deep inhale of air she spoke the words: "Link...Start." Her mind traveled elsewhere as she was teleported to the game known as Sword Art Online, SAO for short.

The girl, only fourteen years of age, loved being in such a great place. Aincrad to her was like a fairy tale, a dream come true. Everything looked real! Of course she didn't experiment with the fighting just yet, she just took her time to fully experience the artificial nature around her and meet new people. Harumi traveled through the Town of Beginnings, smiling as she finally exited the town. She found a big hill and sat on it, watching the sunset slowly appear in the sky. Her smile slowly faded when she realized that she needed to go, like now. Harumi checked her HUD and noticed she was already twenty minutes late for dinner. She went to where the log out button was supposed to be and stopped, it wasn't there. The orange haired girl frantically searched for it but it was no where to be found. There was no log out button. A tear welled up in her eye, she was beginning to get worked up over this. Suddenly she was transported to the middle of the town. Above her was none other than Akihiko Kayaba. And that, is when it all began.

» Virtues:

Cheerful: To everyone she meets, not including adults, she is very delighted to meet. Adults kind of scare her, because they automatically have the authority. Harumi loves to meet new people, especially if they are friendly. Harumi has never experienced any deaths in her family or anything that could possibly faze her so she keeps on being happy and polite to everyone. She was never exposed to any evils and doesn't really think too negatively about anything.

Unafraid: If there is a challenge in front of her she will except it, even when she is blind. Getting into battles and fighting boars actually make her feel like a superhero of some sort. It doesn't scare her at all. When Akihiko Kayaba announces the penalty of reaching zero health she becomes scared for the first couple days or so until she realizes that it's silly to worry.

Caring:Growing up well rounded meant that she was careful, she knew what not to do around others and respected peoples feelings. She knows what makes most people uncomfortable and tries her best not to provoke anyone too much. Because she is cheerful, she is caring.

For The People: (A later Virtue when Harumi finds out about the Pking going on around Aincrad.)

» Flaws:

"Shy": Harumi has a short attention span and often lets herself drift off to another dimension. Her quietness makes her come off as a shy person. Being shy is a flaw because people wouldn't really talk to her, afraid that the conversation might become akward. She is working on being a little more open.

Insensitive: Harumi at times can get a little less aware that people are sensitive. Sometimes she pushes peoples buttons until they snap. She isn't a very rude person but in her mind...that's another story.

Short Attention Span: When conversing she would find herself distracted by many things like the color of the sky or a sudden sound in the background. Her mind tends to wander off into her own little world instead of speaking properly to someone. She knows this is impolite but it simply cannot be helped. Ever since she was a child she couldn't focus on more than one thing, besides maybe a book, for more than a few minutes.

Audacious: She doesn't care if others think it is wrong, she will go into anything without thinking because she is confident that she is correct. If someone tries to stop her then she will push past and do it regardless. If she thinks it's right in her heart than that's all that matters. If she is confident enough to go forward then she will, and will not back down.
