» History: Having a father born in Nagoya, Japan, and a mother born in New York City, it was an interesting life that Lilith lived. Lilith's mother and father raised her together in New York, at least, for the first few years of her life. It was at the age of seven when her father caught on to his wives multiple affairs. Getting a divorce and winning custody over Lilith, Lilith and her father moved to Tokyo, Japan. She was then enrolled in one of the most rigorous, yet reward schools in the country. 

 

Lilith spent all of her time at this school studying. She had no social life, and even inside of school, she had little to no social interactions. Including no friends. This was her life until the age of sixteen. School, home, study, sleep. Repeat. Some might call it a boring life, but being at the top of her class made it very fulfilling for Ms. Strauss. Of course, when the late teens hit, she began to find herself loosing her grip on things. Her studies stayed the same, but she began to feel herself longing for something. Craving for something. Her life was so dull and boring, she wanted something more in it other then just books. 

 

That's when she met Karina. Not exactly the brightest girl, nor was she the most... tolerable in the judgmental eyes of Lilith. She was a bit annoying, and for the first two or three interactions, Lilith was not exactly her biggest fan. It was after a few weeks that Lilith began to tolerate Karina. They started eating lunch together, and just a few days later, Karina manged to get Lilith to stop studying every now and again and go shopping. It was then Sword art online came out, and Karina expressed her interest in such a game, that Lilith decided to take a chance at gaming. 

 

Getting nerve gear from her mother, Karina and Lilith waited in line to buy SAO. It was when it finally came out that they both bought it, rushed home, and logged on. 

 

» Virtues:

 

Responsible: Harlequin will always keep her word. it she agreed to do it, she will do it as quickly and efficiently as possible. She is also responsible in the way that she typically does not have to be asked to help others, just as she volunteered by her own free will to look after those incapable of successfully playing the game.

 

Generous: Always willing to give up her time to help others, Harlequin typically finds herself getting the gratitude of others, something that doesn't exactly humble her. Much like her responsible virtue, she is typically going above and beyond to help others with her generosity. 
 

Virtuous: Harlequin follows an obvious, straight forward code of conduct. It is an honorable one, one which prevents her from causing harm on others. She will not kill nor maim anyone unless it is for the greater good/protecting others. 

 

Empathetic: Harlequin gets easily attached to others. Due to the abrupt change in her personality change caused by her acquaintanceship with Karina, she always feels obligated to help people out around her. Whether she knows them or not. 

» Flaws:

 

Blunt: Harlequin is horrible at holding back her comments/criticism. Somehow almost always managing to offend someone when she doesn't mean to. Of course, she doesn't always realize this, and brushes it off her shoulder. 

 

Soft Hearted: Harlequin, in the case of actual other players, can be a bit too sympathetic at times. This can prevent her from doing what needs to be done, causing her to some times take it easy on the enemy. 

 

Stubborn: Even if she is soft-hearted, she is also hard headed. Due to being an intellectual superior for most of her life, she doesn't take criticism well. Nor does she easily except the help of others.

» Karina: Her best friend, and the one who originally got her involved in the world of video games and nerve gear. They both started the game together, but when the true intentions of the game were revealed on that first day, Harlequin and Karina split paths. Karina left to play the game to the fullest, and Harlequin stayed behind to help take care of the children and to not put herself, or others, in harms way. 


Story Thus Far
» Harlequin was one of the first players of the game, (minus beta testers). When the intentions of the game first appeared, Harlequin decided to stay behind. She did not wish to out herself, or others in harms way, so she took care of those who were unable/unwilling to participate. She did not level up, hence why she is still at level one. Of course, when an acquaintance of her friend came back to the first floor simply to tell Harlequin that her friend had been killed on the 6th floor, Harlequin decided that it was time to join the game and try to find the way out.
