[SP-F9] Too Easy

Recommended Posts

Zelrius was rather bored with all the current quests. Even the new one seemed a little too simple for the boy. He had found it during a sitting by the Phoenix statue on the Field that the Twinfire bird had died. An Information broker had messaged the Blood Buccaneer about a new quest, And the main goal was to kill the Angry three headed Dog, Cerberus. Zelrius, of couse, having nothing else to do took the quest willingly, and made his way through Vulcan City in an Effort to find out more information about this new task of his. He did know that he was to head to a Cavern, which dropped your health with every second, Meaning that this should be a little bit of a new Challenge for the Boy.

Zelrius would quickly learn that the Inferno cave was A LOT further then most locations in floors from one to the other. He would also later find out that there was no cities in between him and the Cavern. As it would be, Zelrius actually realized it didn't matter, If there had been a Haven of some sort on the way to the Cavern, Zelrius was not allowed to enter in cities on the account of his status as a player Killer. He muttered to himself, realizing just how annoying that was, and how he had planned to getting it fixed. In the mean time, Zelrius decided he had to get a move on, This would take a little more then Two days, and the sooner he got moving, The Blood Buccaneer thought, the better.

Over the course of the next day, Nothing exciting happened. Just another time on the Ninth floor. The holes in the ground either being just that, or bubbling Magma came out from time to time. But to someone like Zelrius, Whom had spent enough time on this floor, Those little pot holes would become little more then minor annoyances from time to time. He had learned by now to dodge them and what not, But even then sometimes his footing was off. Dodging this is what made getting around on the Ninth Floor that much harder. You always had to be on the look out on your feet, and ahead of you, because if you were not paying attention, too many times would your shoes snag some lava on them and that profuse amount of hot liquid would drop your health ALMOST as quickly as Zelrius himself could.

When Night time arose, Zelrius decided it best to keep moving until he couldn't any longer. The boy guessed he was far enough away from town that if he slept later then usual, It would not cause him much if any harm. He wasn't afraid of other PKers, So much as just mere thieves or the Berserk Monsters that roamed during the night. Of course, Town distance had nothing to do with the monsters, But Zelrius would rather not be mugged or killed in his sleep by a low level whom just got so lucky as to find the Blood Buccaneer sleeping. As it would be, However, anyone stupid enough to try to attack Zelrius, clearly wouldn't be strong enough to survive for much longer after their first strike on the boy. So, for a bit, he was worry free and was completely open to Roam, then Sleep till the next Day.

Upon the next morning, Zelrius had awoken rather uncomfortable. The heat was worst the further you got from Towns or Cities, and even more so in all his gear and his Tuxedo. It would appear that nothing was stopping him at the moment, other then slight disorientation, so the boy stood and began once again to trek to the map marker he was after: The Inferno Cavern. It would appear no one has even begun this quest yet, not even the Information Broker who got it to Zelrius, Which was not surprising to the Blood Buccaneer. By the information given to him, The Blood Buccaneer concluded that there was hardly anyone strong enough to even take on the quest, Let alone those who were strong enough were busy doing other things. As it would turn out, Day changed to night once more, and Zelrius carried on.

The Nights on the Ninth Floor didn't make the temperature even the slightest more pleasant. Nothing got darker as the Floor was lit by Magma and other combustible energy lighting. So, It was almost impossible to tell the difference between night and day other then the fact that the Red sun had just dipped below the horizon. Turns out, Nothing changed about the monster's either. With most cleared on the Ninth floor due to grinding done by Higher level players (Zelrius included) it seemed that most if not all of them were either hiding or cleared. Or maybe there just wasn't any monsters in between Vulcan Town and The Inferno Cavern. Whatever the case, there were no extra distractions to Zelrius's current goal and he was more then pleased with that result. Without another word being Thought, Zelrius set up camp and went to sleep that night.

In the morning, Zelrius could see the structure of the cave in the distance. It was more or less a Giant Rock that was hollowed out and lit by the Magma that lain within the Cavern on the side of a Giant Lava Mountain otherwise known as a Volcano. He sighed, Equipping all his gear and checking their Statistics. The Hydra Head, Would prove extra hand in this journey, The increased accuracy and It's ability to block Damage was invaluable against the Guardian of the Underworld. His Azure Cloak also becoming a new item of fixture. As it would turn out, The increased agility would make it so he was most clearly not able to be hit, and if the Boy was his, He would reflect the damage dealt to him, quite easily. And As always, The Twinfire sword being his weapon of Chioce, With all this equipped and ready to go, Zelrius entered the Cavern.

As Zelrius walked in, He was greeted by three rather unfriendly Dog looking things. They reminded him of his Familiar Miles, whom he hasn't seen in some time. Nonetheless, Zelrius was rather fond of a good fight. Though the Blood Buccaneer was doubtful these things would put up much of a challenge, he was willing to be optimistic for once. No such luck. Though Zelrius hadn't made his own strike, Neither did the Dogs or Hounds. Hell Hounds was the correct term for them, As that what was what the game identified them as.

Zelrius only grinned as the Hell Hounds backed up. Wrong move, Zelrius thought to himself, as he drew his sword back and swung back forth as hard as he could. He had landed a critical on the nearest Hell hound and the HP of the poor beast dropped far below what Zelrius had initially thought it would. By the looks of it, With the Blade Damage alone, It would seem the Battle Arena Champion had knocked half of the poor Puppy's HP out of the park, so to speak. With that, It ignited in Flame, from the Twinfire sword. Something Zelrius was not expecting but was joyed nonetheless. In another instant, the Flames were out, giving Zelrius a kind of "meh" attitude. In an Instant the Other Hounds leapt at the Blood Buccaneer, In which he saw coming. leaping up he dodge all three of the onslaughts and landed, Ready to once again take out another Hell Hound.

The cave hadn't taken another toll on him quite yet after that last attack. Of course, at that moment he realized he had thought that way too soon. Another point of HP dropped and once more, With a sigh, He realized just another reason no one else was here yet or had been here quite yet. Much to his misfortune, This would only be an annoyance for the Battle against the Guardian of the Underworld. Another attack brought that poor Puppy down and with it a million little blue data points. As it would turn out, Zelrius was doing more damage then he had anticipated against these. They were weaker then he had thought and even more so since they are in a special location.

Zelrius had landed yet another strike. With the death of the First hound, and The Thorns from the Azure cloak Activating on the other two with Zelrius taking so much as a sliver of damage due to evasion, Things were shaping to be rather easy. And that meant The Blood Buccaneer was wasting his time. As Always. It seemed to be more frequent nowadays, the time wasting. Nothing to do, and so long to have it. So much time in Aincrad, so high levels and a grand amount of money, everything was boring. With this weighing down on his mind Zelrius made a strike on the Second Hound, The new closest one to him

It would seem these Beasts were little to no challenge for The Blood Buccaneer. He had just taken out the second. It was disappointing really, How simple all this was becoming. Though what really appealed to the Battle Arena Champion in this whole ordeal was the Cerberus Soul. That was quite the item. Extra Burn damage, Though he was  more then likely going to just keep it as a trophy and not use it ever...
