[SP-F2] Earning A Living Part Deux (Repeat 1) [Complete]

Rebekah continued digging, after looking at her shallow hole. While she thought that potatoes would not be growing that deep under ground, it never hurts to dig a bit deeper just in case she had missed some, or another player had move things around. It was the sort of thing that she hated doing, double checking to make sure that she was not missing anything. After all, her mat collection had gone terrible slow today, and she needed to make up a lot of progress.

After digging what had felt forever, she decide to move over slightly to another patch in this soil, which was still inside the area designated for potatoes. This farm was neatly organized and she could see where she would be able to find everything else. Rebekah had looked up down as she continue to slowly dig out a shovel full of soil and toss it to the side around her hole. It was painstakingly more difficult than finding fruits on a tree, but if she was going to find a potato, this was the only method to find one.

She continued to dig deeper into the hole, then realized that she had to be more careful when lifting the soil out, as there could be smaller potatoes inside, that sometimes she might not have noticed. She continued to dig knowing that it was going to take a while for her to find anything. As she watched the nearby NPCs walk back out after their break, she knew that they may have the answer to where is the best spot to harvest the food, not that they would tell her.

After finding her first material in this patch of soil, she continued to dig. Usually she would have given up already if she had been unlucky in her attempts before, but since she found one, she decided to continue, trying to remain as lucky as possible. It was the type of thing that she believed in inside this game, luck. Not everyone believed it, but she knew that she was rather unlucky at times.

Knowing that she was on a role, she decided to continue searching for materials around this location. While this could be attributed to as a one time thing that made her lucky, she knew that it was also entirely possible that whatever she had found was useful. Since arriving in this location she has dug up as many materials as she had seen in the orchard. Perhaps it is a lot easier for the regular NPC farmers to collect what they could see as opposed to what they could dig.

Maybe that part of this potato patch was just an exception, as she moved to another part of the soil where it did not seem like anyone was digging in it recently. She looked down and started digging diligently once again, knowing that it would take a while for her to find what she would be looking for. It was not easy finding materials out of combat as it requires a lot of time searching, but as a chef it was best if she knew where the food was coming from, and this was the closest she was ever going to get in Aincrad.

Rebekah continued to dig a bit deeper. Knowing that she had spent a lot less time with similar results in this patch made her vary of going to search for something with her eyesight again. After all, her success today had come from physically doing the work, instead of walking around hoping for a mistake, as one of the NPC farmers would leave behind several fruits that they did not harvest in time before she arrived.

However, all that hard work had made her exhausted, thus she decided to leave the shovel and potato patch and walk into the next part of the field. She could see the little plants sprouting from the soil, and walked towards the end of the field. That was where they were harvesting the strawberries, where she wished she be able to pick at them from the ground. As she walked towards the first plant, the plant was not yet mature yet.

Rebekah continued to search for materials, moving on to the next plant beside it. The last one she looked at, the fruit that she wanted was still growing slightly. It was something that she had to be able to deal with as she wished she could return later to pick it up, but she knew that she needed the materials at their peak, when they are at their freshest in order to deliver the flavour to anyone trying out her food.

She decided to move on towards the next row, knowing that this row where she was, consisted of plants that have not quite grown enough yet. But she figured that was probably the case, that there was a sort of system to keep rotating the crops so that they could harvest all year around. The temperature was acting like summer even in the spring. She had not tried growing food in Aincrad as she have never heard if it ever worked, nor she could grow anything on the 4th floor, so she never bothered.

Rebekah continued to check, as she had no luck ever since entering this part of the farm. It had nothing to do with her expectations, but more with how she perceived the system was. She knew that hunting monsters above a certain level would drop a material, but searching for them such as right now, is often the problem, as the success rate is artificially low, at least for her that is. She knew that she would have to continue to search for and hope that the odds would even out in the long run.

That was the first plant that she manged to see that had bore some fruit, so she continued searching along this row of plants. Hoping that she was going to find more than she typically do, she continued to scan as she walked by the plants, hoping that she could continue to harvest something around here. It was the type of thing that she had been waiting for quite some while, these plants who grew in the soil would be perfect for salads.

Rebekah continued to search for the vegetables that grew in this field, as she continued to scan, anything that was green caught her attention, but if it was not green. The problem was the entire plant was typically green, so it was hard to see things. Sometimes it feels that maybe it was her eyesight that would have let her down today, as she probably missed quite a few materials even on the way here.

Rebekah continued to search diligently, after finding a material in her last search. She knew that she is having relatively more success today as in the past, she would give up after spending most of the day finding 2-3 mats, but the fact that she had surpass her previous goal by double of that made this trip a huge success. While she had planned to go cook in her shop before the next boss would arrive, she would just save these for the next floor raid, as there was not much time left.

As Rebekah continued to search, she had been having more luck as of late, and knew that it would be in her best interests to start wrapping up soon, but she wanted a few extra materials, so she was going to continue searching. As she continued, she noticed that her bag was starting to become heavier, signaling that she had collected more materials then she had expecting for this entire trip. As she continued to check each plant individually, she could not help but notice that the plants all looked virtually the same, with the exception of where you would harvest them.

Rebekah was nearing the end of her trip to the farm, and decided to make another effort to research this row, where most of her efforts had come today. It was the only place where she had collected the most amount of materials in the smallest amount of time. That said, she knew that there was still more than enough time to head back towards the portal gate to visit the first floor. She intended today to be a trip in the morning and early afternoon, so she would be free in the evening.

She knew that her luck at the end of today was going to run out eventually, but not before she was going to search as much as she can before she needed to return. As one more material would mean that she would be able to craft an extra item before being required to return for another round of gathering these much needed rare materials that was in high demand. Rebekah continued to search each plant carefully, as if she could miss one by walking by too quickly, then so can anyone.

It had been a long day for Rebekah, as she had to leave her shop on floor 4 very early. Without a teleportation crystal, she had to walk everywhere, and the fatigue was starting to set in today. While she had been accustomed to walking everywhere, today was extremely tedious work as she did not get enough sleep the night before, as she continued to walk, she felt a tiny bit dizzy. Thus she head towards the shade underneath the nearby tree, but not before stopping by a bush before heading there.

She found nothing, and she decided to move towards the shade, and lean against the tree for a minute, while taking out one of the waters that she in her bag, and drank it. It was refreshing, and the wind started to pick up just enough for her to feel a cool breeze. It was just the nice break that she had been waiting for since the beginning. While looking back at today, it can be considered a success due to the fact that it had been going quite successful since she had exceeded her expectations. Perhaps she should make a return trip back to this farm in the near future.

Before she headed out, a sign had caught her eye, it started, that there was a chance she could dig for a treasure chest on this property, and it was designated to appeal to players such as her. She thought back to her talk with the NPC when she had entered the farm, such that anything she found would be hers to keep, since the food would have spoiled as they could never harvest anything. It was also the fact that the lady knows the cooking instructor on floor 1. As she sat there, she thought about it for a while before deciding whether or not to try it out.
