Luckily she didn't take too much damage from only one hit since it lost its momentum. 'But still, could that be a active sword skill, like the Charge skill I've been seeing?' she asked herself while looking for the next place she should attack. That was indeed a sword skill named Savage Fulcrum that consisted in drawing the letter 4 in the air using 3 consecutive slashes. But players currently didn't have access or knowledge about that particular skill. Nether the less, Ariel took note of the move and decided to back off immediately after a hit. She began dashing towards the mob once again looking for a clean hit at its right leg. Her aim was once again true as she stabbed the mob beneath the knee, then backed off. The mob saw the opportunity and tried to cut the blonde's head off, luckily Ariel managed to deflect some damage and not get knocked down this time. She was determined to ruin its left leg in order to bring the general to its knees. She dashed towards the giant then after a quick faint to the right she managed to go behind its left leg as it was performing a downwards diagonal slash. After the stab, the blonde would pick up the fluorescent bottle once again to get a bit more of the visibility of her surroundings. She'd show a grin as the mob would turn behind and address him in a mocking tone: "Is that the best you can do?" She let out a smirk thinking: 'I won't fall for that again!' .... 'No you won`t!!!' responded a dreadful voice, stunning the blonde for a second. Luckily she quickly regained her sense and dodged to the left, next aiming her rapier towards its rib cage. After another stab she backs off showing a creepy smile: 'So you decided to make your presence known?' she asked, hoping for a response from the voice that appeared to come from somewhere far deep away in her mind..a hidden part of her conscience. Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted April 12, 2015 Author #24 Report Share Posted April 12, 2015 Even if it didn't say anything, a low creepy laugh could be heard echoing "fufufufufufufu" as the blonde, without noticing that the source for it was her own mouth that now had a twisted smile on it, assailed the mob once again.A leaving a deep stabbing wound on the giant's right leg, Ariel backs off to the left hoping to understand from where does the laugh come from. 'Am I starting to hear things again?' she thought, bringing the glowing bottle to her eye level and looking around her for a second while the general finished his 3 hit combo. Once again dodging to the center to escape his initial downwards slash the blonde made a jump and pierced the giant right in the sternum. She let out a arrogant snort preparing to land once again as the low horizontal slash should have passed by now. But as all things in life usually go as expected, when she was preparing to look down to make she timed right the landing a powerful upwards strike, having a V shape trajectory. This took the blonde by surprise and any attempt of block or deflection were useless since, by the time she saw he slash, it already crossed half of her stomach...the full slash ending only after the blade left her shoulder. Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted April 18, 2015 Author #26 Report Share Posted April 18, 2015 The blonde winched at the sudden pain surge 'Guuhh' ... if this was real life blood would be spouting off her mouth and she wouldn't be able to recover after a devastating hit like that. but this was SAO a virtual reality death 'game' that permitted players to raise up after receiving a blow like that, more easily. So did Ariel after barely landing in her two feet, the pain was intense but for a short while which permitted her to raise up once again and dash out at the mob. She gritted her teeth as a sharp sting came from her belly: "See what happens when you don’t acknowledge my existence?" said a dreadful voice out of the blue. She ignored it for now and after stabbing the general in the leg and putting some distance between them, she inquired this presence that she could sense but not see: "Who are you?" she asked in a cautious tone. Whatever 'it' was it had a funny sense of humor, talking about presence but not wanting to make itself known to the blonde. In any other occasion she would ponder more on the theme but now...she was mid fight and just had received a serious wound, there was no time for chasing wild horses. She twitched once again as a surge of pain came from her stomach, she removed the hand and saw a pixelated red line that was shrinking by the seconds. The general started walking towards her, brandishing his massive katana and bringing it upwards. The blonde skillfully dodged it and managed to land a successful blow to his right side. The massive katana hit the ground with a loud thud, half burying itself in it. This was her chance to attack it from behind., hopefully it didn't have more surprises. It wanted to turn around and attack but the mob had difficulties retrieving his half buried weapon. It started growling and panting..."Tired already?" asked the blonde with a smirk without awaiting a response. This taunt seemed to have angered the mob as it released the katana from its earthly shackles and turned around while performing a horizontal swipe. Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted May 8, 2015 Author #29 Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 "Its Game Over for you my friend!" affirmed the blonde with a sadistic smile, while thrusting her sword as she was descending from her leap. Her target? the general's head. To her surprise it tried to evade her strike but its massive body wasn't agile enough to outmaneuver Ariel, her blade hit its target with pinpoint accuracy. The massive Undead General then exploded into millions of polygons in a instant, leaving behind but only his cape and a decent amount of gold. The blonde collected the loot and turned towards her companion who has supervised the battle until now. She addressed her in a ironic tone while storing the items: "Would've killed you to jump in for me? That hit really hurt you know?" she whined with a smile, as kimba simply started approaching her while letting out a small growl. "I think that's enough exploring for one day. How about we head home and get ourselves a nice tasty dinner?" she inquired, already knowing her familiar's positive response. The road back to the 4th floor was uneventful and this whole journey had achieved its purpose, Ariel now knew that she was now able to use her sword skills as she did IRL...even better in some cases due to the computer assisted movements. She had successfully adapted the swordsmanship, that her father had instilled into her, for this death game. Now she could use her full potential in combat, this thought made her a bit sad thinking about her family but in the same time strengthened her resolve to reach the top floor so that she would reunite with them once again.
