When Sinon was fewer than two years old, she was involved in a car accident. By the time anyone noticed the accident, it had been 6 hours. During the 6 hours, Sinon's father slowly died from internal bleeding while her mother watched. Her mother was traumatized by the event and became very frail and was hurt easily. This resulted in Sinon becoming overprotective of her mother. Nine years later, Sinon was traumatized after she attempted to protect her mother during a robbery at a postal office, and ended up killing the robber with his own gun. As a result, she developed an intense fear of guns and slight fear of men. She also was bullied up until high school for this reason.

Calm and cool are two words that best describe Sinon's personality. In battle and most of the time in the game, she keeps a cool head that makes other female players admire her. However, Sinon has a violent temper once angered. Despite all this, Sinon, while maybe hard to approach, is generally a friendly person and doesn't mind helping others.

Sinon, however, is probably the most fragile-minded player in the game. This is due to her childhood incident that involved her killing a robber. If someone were to act as if they were shooting her in real life Sinon would have a nervous breakdown and be on the verge of collapsing. People have used this to take advantage of Sinon before. Not only this, but the guilt of taking another's life haunts Sinon.

The glasses she uses don't have any prescription and are not meant for correcting eyesight. Instead, the lenses are made from an NXT polymer which is said to make the glasses able to withstand even the impact of a bullet. This gives her a modest sense of security and allows her to stay calm.

The visual acuity rating for both of her eyes in real life are 2.0 (in Japanese visual acuity system; roughly equal to 20/10 in the USA system), which is twice as good as the average person.

"Her voice is similar, though not the same as her real world voice. It made a high, clear and cute sound that made her feel tired inside, which was the reason she disliked speaking. Calm. Doesn't anger easily which helps keep her be level-headed in battle, making her a fearsome opponent. Through thick and thin, Sinon stays like the calm before a storm. She has patience. She baits her time. However when it is time to strike, no one notices how quick and lethal she is.

Friendly. Will be among the first people to say 'Hi' to a new person. Unlike others in the game, she does not suffer from shyness- let alone from loneliness. Usually able to strike friendships very quickly, Sinon has many friends on whom to count on and is bless to always count in them, when she is in need. Just like they are able to count in her as well.

Helpful. Will stay behind and help others who are less fortunate than herself instead of progressing in the game. It is in her natures and the only way, she can give back and earn some good karma, after taking a life. Although her wanting to help is pure, she is one to also asses the use of others to help the weak that are in need and to further her own life inside the game.

» Flaws:

Violent tempered. When angered, she turns into a violent monster that many have learned to be afraid of. Just like she portrays herself to be calm, Sinon can quickly turned into a monster. Her mind goes haze and only her anger controls her, making her sometimes do rash things that might put her life in danger.

Fragile-minded. The guilt of taking a life weighs on her heavily, leaving her mentality close to shattering. Life has dealt her with such a hard move, although she is trying to put it past her-some use her fragile mind to play games with her and take advantage of her. Although, she is always in the look out for people who do such things, she has still fallen prey to them and till this day this is her most powerful weakness in her opinion.

Hoplophobia/Androphobia. Is fiercely afraid of guns and slightly scared of men, avoiding them both entirely if at all possible. Although Guns cannot be found in SAO, any noise that reminds her of a cocking gun or firing bullet, throws her off completely and makes her slide into an abyss of fear the moment her sanity snaps.
