Bio:

After his mother passed away at the age of four, Shuyin bounced around the foster care system until the age of twelve, at which time he was enrolled into a state run military academy. Training to become a professional solider, Shuyin is skilled in the arts of diplomacy and combat. Although introverted and cold he doesn't shrink away from what he considers his duty and as much as he resents assuming leadership he is the first to ensure what is necessary gets done. Although most people believe him to be difficult his pragmatism and sense of responsibility earn him the admiration of his peers. Shuyin's "catchphrase" is "whatever" which he usually uses for want of the current topic to be dropped. Looking forward towards the future Shuyin hopes to become a Yojimbo or bodyguard, due to the fact that it suits his skills and doesn't require much of him socially.

Virtues:

 

Responsible- Shuyin has earned a reputation among his peers as the guy to go to if you want to make sure something gets done. Willing to put aside any personal feelings his mind stays always focused on the task at hand, even if it means putting himself into uncomfortable situations. His reputation as one of the most responsible students at the academy has earned him the respect and admiration of both his teachers and peers. Although he prefers to play solo, its his responsible nature that drives him onto the front lines of SAO to help beat the game.

 

Diligent- Shuyin has never been one to be under prepared for a situation. Whether it's diplomacy, politics or combat he always does his homework and never enters into a situation where he doesn't already have an upper-hand. Now trapped in SAO, Shuyin is trying hard to get in with the information brokers to help him gain an advantage within the game.

 

Loyal- Although he has trained as a professional solider and operates as a fighter for hire. Shuyin is loyal to those that have managed to get close to him and those that have purchased his services. Shuyin has turned down more money and benefits on multiple jobs in order to remain loyal to the original client.

 

Flaws:

 

Introvert-  Shuyin likes to keep to himself when at all possible and doesn't allow others to get close to him easy. He gets easily frustrated in social situations so he tries to avoid them when he can. Because of all these reasons most people find that he can be difficult to deal with.

 

Idealist- Shuyin has a dream picture of the way the world should be which sometimes interferes with how he interacts with the real world. Having more of an effect on the people around him most of the time then himself. People can find it frustrating when he over looks a practical solution in favor of something he think suits is idealized situation.

 

Indifferent- Although decisive Shuyin often lacks real emotion in his decision making. Usually just deferring to what makes the most statistical sense or whats in the better interest of the mission. This makes Shuyin inadequate at solving moral dilemas, or generating an interest in his comrades that goes beyond what he needs to know for the mission.
