[F4-SP]Restocking the Pantry

Stepping outside his shop into the winter wonderland that is the fourth floor. Shuyin buttoned up his jacket and set off in search of monsters to hunt and materials to find. Only having traveled a short distance from his shop, it wasn't long before Shuyin came upon a lone wolf. Staring down the wolf he drew his rapier and prepared for battle. As the wolf came charging forward Shuyin swung his rapier forward slashing the wolf, before spinning to the side and dodging its attack.

Missing its attack the wolf reeled around and lined up for another attack. Beginning its charge once again, it prepared itself to change direction at many moment to counter-act the players dodge. Watching as the wolf once again made its way towards him, Shuyin waited till the last second before once again attempting to spin out of the way. To his surprise however he felt something hard clamp down on his arm. Looking down he was shocked to see the wolf locked on to him. Driving his rapier through the wolfs chest, it immediately released it's hold on him before retreating to safety.

Wiping the saliva off his jacket, he watched the wolf's movements carefully. Seeing the wolf's leg twitch Shuyin yelled out into the open air "Not this time you don't!" Running forward Shuyin had beaten the wolf to the punch. Unsure of what to do the wolf hunched it's back and snarled as Shuyin closed the distance. Within striking range of the wolf Shuyin leaped into the air and thrust his rapier downwards towards the animal. In complete defensive mode the wolf lashed out and bit Shuyin's leg as it flailed in the air. Unfazed, Shuyin continued his assault downwards watching as his rapier plunged into the wolfs back. Landing calming on the ground, he turned and watched as the wolf burst into shards. Holstering his rapier, Shuyin continued on his intended path.

Reaching a frozen over field, Shuyin decided he would take a quick stroll through it to see if he could find any materials around to harvest. Entering into the field he immediately saw a green circle hovering around a green plant with what seemed like red berries on it. Although it was hard to tell due to the plant being so far away, he was sure this was what he was looking for. Running towards the plant, Shuyin was slowed dramatically by the deep snow."What I wouldn't give for snow shoes right now." he thought. Finally reaching the plant, he was dismayed that it had apparently been buried by the falling snow in the time it took him to get over to the spot. Digging around frantically, he was unable to uncover the plant.

Dismayed by his luck, Shuyin plopped down into the snow and observed his surroundings. Watching as the snow fell peacefully to the ground, he stuck his tongue out and attempted to catch a snowflake. Not ever getting a chance to experience real snow, he had fallen in love with it in the game, hence why he set up his shop on this floor. Deciding that he better get back to work, Shuyin was just about to stand up when he felt the ground shake. Frantically looking around him, it was then that he noticed that an Ice elemental had wondered into the field and that he was inside his aggro range.

 

Rising quickly to his feet, Shuyin drew his rapier before turning to face the mob. Deciding to use his speed as an advantage. Shuyin ducked and juked around the mob before finally closing the distance and slashing it across it's back. Wasting no time after landing the hit, Shuyin quickly jumped backwards and out of range of a possible counter attack.

Watching as the Ice Elemental reared back, obviously in pain from his last attack. Shuyin made sure to keep his movement speed up. Knowing that he would have to finish this fight fast do to the fact that he was already getting fatigued from moving around so much. Closing the distance once again, he watched as the mob swung its mighty fist towards him. Jumping up into the air to avoid the attack he perfectly timed his landing to land on top of its first. From there he quickly launched himself into the air towards its upper body, landing a slash on it's head before landing once again on its shoulder and then jumping off to the side.

Taking a quick moment to catch his breath as the mob grasped its face in pain. Shuyin once again set off and began circling around his target. Knowing that it couldn't have much health left after taking two attacks like that. Shuyin quickly ducked after a snowball that had been generated by the mob came hurling at him. Immediately running in towards towards the elemental after dodging the incoming attack. He drove his rapier furiously into its abdomen before pulling it back out and once again jumping back to a safe range, preventing a counter attack.

Watching as the elemental dropped to one knee, he was sure that his next attack would finish him off. This time charging directly at it, Shuyin felt a moment of panic as he began to loose his balance after slipping on a piece of ice that lay hidden under the snow. "What? Am I on a lake or something?" he thought. Driving his rapier into the ground, he managed to grab onto it as a support and stopped himself from falling completely. Retreating back to safety after the failed attempted, Shuyin was relieved to see that the mob was still unable to attack due to it still kneeling on the ground in pain.

Observing as the Ice Elemental rose to its feet once again, he was determined to take it out this time. Running forward yet again, Shuyin lifted some snow off the ground and packed it into a tight ball. Launching it at the mob, he watched as its first came flying in to meet the snowball, exploding it in mid-air. Although the snowball had obviously done no damage, it was just the distraction he needed to get in close. Now directly under the mob, he once again thrust his sword into its abdomen, this time leaving it there. Watching as the Ice Elemental came crumbling down before shattering into a bunch of hexagonal shards. Shuyin retrieved his sword from the ground and placed it in it's sheath. Binding over to pick up the loot orb, he activated it as he did and deposited the the items into his inventory.

Turning around to face the wide open field behind him, he watched as another Ice Elemental entered the field. "A spawning location perhaps? This might be a good location to post up and farm." he thought to himself. Drawing his rapier once again, Shuyin was able to catch the mob by surprise and land the first blowing. Jumping up from behind the elemental, he plunged his sword into it's back. Trying hard to keep hold of it as the mob squirmed around. He lifted his feet and placed them onto the elemental's back. Pressing down with all his might, he dislodged his sword from it's back and jumped away from the monster.

Impressed with how much his prowess in battle had improved since fighting the boars of floor one. He was stoked with the fact that he hadn't taken a single point of damage from either of the Ice Elemental's so far. Closing back in on the mob, he quickly dodged out of the way of the elemental's sweeping arm as it attempted to bat him back. Juking to the side, he held out is rapier and gashed the mob's side as he passed. Once at a safe distance Shuyin turned around in time to see the elemental clutch its side in pain. It appeared the blow Shuyin hand landed was a critical hit.

Knowing that one more good hit would finish the mob off. Shuyin charged in and leaped into the air. Almost immediately after getting air born Shuyin realized his mistake. With nothing to distract the elemental's attention away from him and with no way to dodge while he was in the air, Shuyin new the hit was coming. Feeling the crushing force of the mobs fist as it barreled into him, he was thrown back hard into the ground. Rising to his feet, Shuyin struggled to catch his breath while winded.

Dusting himself off,  Shuyin refocused his efforts and decided that he would go back to the plan that worked so well before. Beginning to duck and juke around the mob, the ice elemental paused for second before hammering it's first down into him. "Apparently this one is a lot faster then the last" he said recovering from the attack. Still inside attack range as soon as the elemental raised its fist again he sliced his rapier down the front of the mob, watching as it shattered into hexagonal shards.

Placing his rapier back in its sheath, Shuyin looked around the area knowing that another Ice Elemental would mostly be coming along soon. Seeing a flash of green light, it appeared that during all the commotion the plant that had been buried by the snow earlier was unearthed. Walking over to the plant, Shuyin knelt down beside it and carefully harvested the berries off of it, depositing them in his inventory as he did. Standing back up, he decided that he would vacate the area before the next Ice Elemental comes along.

Walking down the path, Shuyin kept an eye out for any areas that looked like they would be good for material harvesting. The truth was though that with all the snow on the floor it was hard to make out anything as far as the landscape goes. "Although I love this floor, maybe I should choose another for material gathering" he thought to himself. Just then he noticed a small shrub with berries on the side of the path. Sure that it wasn't a holly bush, Shuyin went ahead a collected the berries.

Continuing on with his journey, Shuyin noticed a large mountain not far off in the distance. Intrigued by what he might find up there, he decided to change course and head to it. Shuyin had herd many rumors of a monstrous elemental that called one of the mountain tops of the fourth floor its home, he wondered if he would find it on this mountain. Making his way up the slope, Shuyin noticed a loot orb lying on the ground, no doubt mistakenly forgotten by another player. Running over to it, he wasn't quite able to make it in time before it faded away.

His attention returning back to the task at hand, he continued on with his climb. About halfway up the mountain Shuyin herd a loud snarl from behind him. Turning around he found himself being followed by a wolf.  Watching as the wolf glided towards him over the top of the snow, Shuyin was unable to move out of the way of the attack do to him sinking in to the deep snow. Feeling the wolf bite down hard on his arm, Shuyin swung his rapier down hard across it's back. Watching as the wolf retreated a short distance, he tried to figure out a defensive strategy going forward.

Watching as the wolf once again came gliding towards him, Shuyin new he had to react quickly, Looking around him it would appear that the only thing he had in abundance was snow. Like with the ice elemental, Shuyin scooped up a handful and packed it tightly. Hurling it at the wolf, he watched as he scored a direct hit on its face. Stoping its charge the wolf momentarily backed away before resuming it's attack. "Well that bought me some time, but I doubt it would work again"  he thought to himself.

The wolf once again getting near, Shuyin waited until the beast was almost upon him before swinging his rapier around widely. Retreating to a distance just outside the reach of his rapier, the wolf circled Shuyin looking for an opening. "Well, I didn't land a hit but it would appear that I have fended him off at least temporarily." he thought as he tried to think of what his next move would be. Continuing to swing his rapier widely, Shuyin attempted to lift his feet which were buried in the snow. Spying a rock close be, he knew that if he could get to it, he would have a better footing to fight on.

Reaching the rock safely, Shuyin's spirits were now renewed by having a sure footing to fight on. Turning around to face the wolf, he had almost not time to react as it launched itself into the air towards him. Side stepping the attack, Shuyin thrust his rapier out to the side and sliced the mod the full length of it's body as it soared past. Watching as it whimpered upon landing, he new he had scored a critical hit. "Land one more blow like that and I'll have this wrapped up" he thought to himself.
