[F2-SP] <<Breaking the unbreakable>> A mans frustration

Recommended Posts

Hyun checked his list of things to do, he decided that getting stronger was always a priority and to do that he would need to complete some quests. It was a blazing hot day however, a bead of sweat rolled down the side of his face and trailed down his jawline which then dripped onto his chiselled chest, he wiped his forehead and drank some of the water he was given at the start of the day. The starting cloths were nothing special and he didn't exactly have any good items, he wasn't even going to bother learning how to use a sword. The only weapon he needed were his fists, and thats what lead him to this NPC in particular. It offered the quest <<Breaking the unbreakable>> which would allow him to use Martial arts, the only way he really knew how to fight. It didn't take him long to find the NPC on the second floor and with a rushed accept without reading the details, not wanting to waste any time, he began to search for the boulder.

Hyun made his way down the rocky mountain of the main second floor settlement. He re opened the quest details so he could read them as he searched for the thing. Now that he actually read the quest details he knew just how to get it done. It was supposedly blocking the path to a huge dungeon and only those who have taken the quest could get in. It was definitely worth checking once he had completed the quest himself but for now he just wanted to get the quest done, and from what he could gather the reward would allow him to fight with his arms and legs in the same way others fought with weapons. This made Hyun giddy to get the quest done, he wasn't expecting to actually be enjoying his time trapped inside this god forsaken hell hole of a game but nothing could be expected and life was unpredictable. That was not to say it didn't have clear patterns however he was willing to finally put aside his analytic nature to just enjoy himself for once.

The minimap finally led him to the area where the boulder was supposedly blocking the path. He approached it calmly and placed his palm along the surface, it was just as dense as any rock, he was baffled as to how exactly he was supposed to break the thing but then again, nothing made sense in this virtual world he was in. If a giant man floating in the sky could exist then he was sure he could get some clear damage on the thing. The heat however was still getting to him and his cloth clothing stuck to his body a wet rag. He unequipped the top and stretched, warming up for whatever it was he was about to do. His green eyes scanned the edges of the boulder and tried to see if there was any 'good' place to start hitting it. He shook his head, thinking just how crazy this was and started to bounce on the balls of his feet. He lifted his fists in front of his face and made some faint punches towards the boulder feeling it out. He grunted, there was only one way to get this done and it would have to be with force. He brought his fist back and thrusted his fist towards the boulder half heartedly expecting something to happen. His fist cracked against it not doing any damage at all. "Im not sure what i was expecting there.." He rubbed his knuckles and tried to think of a way he was supposed to do this.

Hyun rubbed his knuckles as he came to terms with his insanity but he reaffirmed himself it was just a game. Being the genius he was he wasn't simply just let some computer simulated pain get to him. He thought back to his hapkido training back in korea and took an appropriate stance. He brought his left leg forward and without a second delay his right leg came hammering from the side hitting against the boulders rocky surface. He chanted a focusing mantra in his mind to take his mind off of the pain focusing solely on the task in front of him. A red mark appeared where his leg had hit the rock and smirked. "Much better"

Hyun was starting to work up a mean sweat now, beads rolled down his rocky body like the morning dew after a cold rainy night. He was well warmed up now and continued to work at the body of the boulder. His body was in great condition, as good as he entered the game but he knew that back in the real world his real body was slowly deteriorating, that was an idea that always put him off. It took him a long time to get in shape since most of his time went into taking care of the enterprise. He brought back his fist to his waist and let out a blow which shook his own body, but the first sign of a crack appeared on the boulders surface.

Hyun was giddy at his success, he wasn't about to stop just yet either, it was important to keep momentum so the the enemy didnt have time to recover, but of course this was just a rock. And so because it was just a rock he took it as basic training, except a lot harder than wood. He took a quick step back and then pivoted forward round housing the top of the boulder and pushed off back to his feet. He breathed heavily and his chest heaved expanding out his muscular figure as he recovered. He had to keep pushing even though he was getting tired, there was no point in stopping now giving up so easily was just embarrassing.

He pulled himself together and went for another set. He began jabbing away at the rocks surface and built up momentum. His muscles were starting to ache and strain from being tense for so long. He pushed through the pain, and he could feel his pulse pumping blood throughout his body. Thinking of what it would be like back in the real world made him frustrated, he was probably losing everything he earned. Why? Why did it have to be like this?! He brought his arm back pushed forward with his elbow enlarging the crack in the boulder. His rage helped but he was still no where near where he wanted to be. The whole thing had to crack open before the quest was completed with a sombre rage he took a heavy breathe and tried to calm himself.

Hyun continued to pound away at the boulders surface, his venting rage continuously fuelled the iron pistons that were his fists. Thoughts of failures and regrets filled his mind and flew out with each swing at the stoic object in front of him. His fists were starting to bleed at this point, but he didn't care. The boulder was wearing down and it looked as though it could break at any moment, he yelled and grunted with each attack trying his best not to think of the pain. He pictured Kayabas face and other twisted businessmen as the boulder to make it easier to throw punches. He grit his teeth clenching tight. If anyone saw him this way they would probably think he was some kind of animal.

Hyun started to throw in some kicks in with his combos, he thought this would be a good time to practice them before actually getting into a fight. He steadied his breathing and rested for a bit and took stance again. Righarm-Rightarm-Leftarm-Righdig-Leftknee switch to right round house. A large chunk of the boulders health disappeared and it dwindled dangerously on red. He was glad it was going to be over soon but also sad that he'd have to finish. Venting out helped him a lot and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to just go back to being the stand by guy he normally was, perhaps SAO would change him for the better and cause him to be more out going. But you couldn't teach an old dog new tricks, he was much to stuck in his ways to end up turning into an outgoing type of guy.

Hyun was starting to slow down but it wasn't over yet, the boulder dwindled on a mere sliver of hp and he was sure just a few more hits would do the trick for sure. He made sure each blow extra power behind them to make up for slowing down, his fists were not giving in yet and until they did he wasn't simply going to give up. You never got anywhere in life by throwing in the towel and he felt that should be applied to any and all situations. He took a quick step back and without a moments notice launched himself forward jump kneeing the boulder with an unrelenting force. Cracks began to appear across the entirety of the boulder. The next strike would finish it for sure.

Hyun was relieved that the thing would finally be done for, he brought his right fist back tilting his entire body and pushing his left arm forward. With a cry of ferocity his right fist powered forward like a rocket and completely shattered the boulder on impact leaving a gust of wind rushing forward. A second later a banner dropped down telling him he had completed the quest and received martial arts. All that was left was to turn it in. He smiled in satisfaction, maybe this game was so bad after all, it definitely felt rewarding, that was for sure. He tried not to think to much about the real world and headed back into town to finally turn in the quest.

Hyun wiped his brow and threw his shirt over his shoulder, he was done with quests for today, all he wanted to do was relax at a tavern and prepare for the earning a living quest so he could finally get things done. He was on his way to the main road when a man stepped in front of him, he had a mace and a shield. The man chuckled and kicked him to the floor "Your col or your life" Hyun stared at him, he wasn't sure exactly what he was supposed to do. He would only give the col out of free will through trade and this guy didn't seem like an orange. Hyun got up and dusted himself off "Right. Lets go then."  The man looked at him in disbelief "Your either crazy, stupid or a gambler" Hyun smirked, it was a line he heard not long ago "Well, I consider myself a lucky man" Without much left to say he got into south paw stance ready for the man to swing.

The bandit came at him with an overhead swing but that was to predictable for Hyun, he moved in quick and raised his arm to block knocking the mans hand away causing him to lose grip of his weapon. He pushed his next left forward shifting his entire body weight to a single point and palmed the mans chest with his left hand which sent the man off his feet and into the dirt in a matter of seconds. Hyun hovered over the mans body and stomped on his chest, he looked at the mans health bar and smirked, he was going to be easier than the rock. "Isn't this just precious. Come on boy, get to your feet" Hyun kicked the man up and he stumbled to his feet grabbing his mace that laid just off the side. "Lucky shot! Let's see you try that again!" The bandit grumbled, he clearly wasn't getting the picture.

Hyun got in motodachi stance which put most of his weight on his front foot. He stared at the bandit waiting for him to come with a calm expression on his face, he could see the bandit flinching in his place where he stood. The bandit had no idea who Hyun was or where he came from yet the boy insisted on picking a fight with him. The bandit charged holding the mace by his side, Hyun thought back to some of his Judo training and kept his arms relaxed ready for a throw. The bandit was within striking distance and stopped just before Hyun could react in a text book manner swinging the mace at his head. Hyun switched styles as he picked up on the method of attack the bandit was employing ducking under the mace and bring his arms in a head guard like manner. This time it was a boxing style. After ducking the blow Hyun shifted his weight and moved his left foot out allowing him sway to the left and go in for a devastating liver busting upwards punch which dug beneath the mans ribs, without a moments hesitation he switched to a teakwando style and spun ninety degrees towards the mans body bringing his right foot up towards the sky and hammered it down on top of the mans neck causing his face to slam into the gravel. Hyun couldn't help but let a wolfish grin sprawl across his face.

Hyun stood over the mans body once again and stomped on his back. "Are you getting the picture. Boy!?" Hyun said in a condescending tone. The man looked up at him with a furious expression and used the mace to smack his other foot causing him to fall on his back. It was the first bit of damage the bandit had inflicted. Hyun was no amateur when it came to ground fights either, it didn't take him long to roll to one side and use his legs to get his arm into an arm bar threatening to pull the mans arm off. Hyun wasn't sure what the boy was doing, did he really want to die that badly? "I suggest you take a good look at your health bar before swinging at a man again. All it takes is one pull of this little arm of yours and you say goodbye to the world you once loved" The bandit stopped squirming the second he realised his situation. "I... please... don't kill me. I didn't want to kill you I just wanted some col ok! Im scared.. and i don't want to die!" Hyun rolled his eyes and pushed off of him once again dusting himself off. The bandit quickly stumbled to it's feet and held his arms out begging Hyun not to kill him. "If you want to make a living then earn it boy. If I catch you up to no good again. It's death. You understand?" The bandit nodded and turned tail running off into the distance. Hyun sighed and fixed his collar "Tch, kids."

Hyun made his way back towards the main settlement, he couldn't believe the nerve of some of the people in this game. The boy was lucky Hyun wasn't a murderer, he had a strong distaste for those killed other people. It was very... un-classy. Speaking of class, it was just about time that Hyun was to get a profession. He had planned to do that since first joining the game but was evidently sidetracked. He wasn't sure exactly what he wanted to do, he didn't know the word on the street for the best col making methods but he assumed any profession that made armours weapons or even merchanting could bare profit to a player. Perhaps merchanting was a more fitting role for him? He tapped his chin as he continued to walk, pondering over various prospects.

Hyun scratched the back of his head as he wasn't which way he was going at this point. He checked the minimap to reassure himself and kept going. He headed further up the road and finally reached the town. He took note of the guards that stood watch and headed inside. It didn't take him long before he finally reached the quest turn in point. The NPC was thankful for him clearing the boulder and gave him his rewards. He simply accepted the rewards and headed off thinking about his next step of actions. Perhaps he would have to take the <<Earning a living>> quest after all, though it was getting late now and he didn't want to rush his decision. The feeding the enemy quest was also an option he had heard about through information brokers but it wasn't something he was to keen on doing straight away and he wasn't sure what type of familiar he would have if he did go for one.

Hyun stepped inside a tavern and tried to relax. He was done for the day, he could just relax and not worry about another thing for the rest of the day. Something he didn't get to often. He wondered how long it would take to get out of the stupid game but then again that was just to much thinking and worrying which Hyun didn't want to do. He ordered a beer and began to drink away at it vigorously not caring if he looked like a slob. His body ached and clear distinction in his muscle could be seen like someone out of an anime. A few players were staring at him from a distance but he simply eye'd them down as he drank his beer without a care. If they had something to say they could say it to his face, he wasn't going to try and be the analytic or charming guy today, he was just going to drink beer and sleep. He checked the time, there was still a good few hours to go until he would sleep.

It was at that time he received a message from Mari, he wasn't sure what for but he assumed it meant business, Mari wasn't the type to just message another person just to say hi or check up on them, or at least thats what he had gathered about her. She seemed very distant and untrusting but anyone who lived long enough soon realised you couldn't trust anyone, not even those you once considered close friends. That was what he could pick up from it, there must have been many tragedies for that women and it would probably explain the orange tag on her name. He opened the message and to no surprise it was a guild meeting notification to be enacted upon immediately. He sighed and dragged himself out of the bar, it would have to be dealt with.

Hyun prepared to make his way to the tenth floor in which he'd go to the meeting. He wasn't sure why it had to be the tenth floor of all placed but he supposed Mari just liked to live life on the edge, or she was forced to based on the fact that she was a pker. Then again he would have to wait and see for himself. He wasn't one to make expectations of other people.
