(OP-F1) Just Wait For It All To Blow Over

Recommended Posts

Breeze ran through the woods, panting heavily. He glanced back and saw, not to his surprise, that the players were still chasing him. Looking ahead, he noticed a small clearing that split into three paths. Picking up his pace, he entered the clearing and sprinted through the path on the left, hoping the others would be tricked. He dove into the foliage and waited, being as quiet as possible.

He just had to wait until everything had subsided, and then he would be fine. The other players did not come rushing by, and after roughly twenty minutes, he crawled onto the path and stood up. That was twice now, that he had encountered those players. Though this time, they seemed determined to carry out the threat from before.

He knew the leader's name, which was good. Cardinal. Sure it was an odd name, but that made the player no less threatening. He stood there for several minutes, thinking about what to do next.

Perhaps I should put up a bounty? But how would I reward the person who takes out Cardinal? I can't do that.

Another thought entered his head. Perhaps I could kill Cardinal himself? No, I refuse to kill. maybe maim, but never kill.

Lowenthal was the clearing of the forest, looking for Nepents to get some more materials. But, none were spawning. Odd he thought. He looked to the woods as he heard a rustle, and shouting. He dove backwards and into a bush, obscuring himself. He tilted his head up, and saw that a man was panting and out of breath. Then he dived into a bush opposite Lowenthal. Shortly after, a group of about 3 people, who looked relatively low to lowenthal entered the area, they started searching the area. Must be looking for that guy, best stay out of it there's too many. One of the men pointed, and the group ran off in that direction. Lowenthal remained motionless, until the man came out of hiding. Lowenthal popped out from his hiding spot. "Whoo, that was exciting." He said. "So, who're hiding from then?" Lowenthal asked.

A light breeze blew through the leaves of the forest outside of Starting City. Jomei had decided it was time to start increasing his collection of instruments to have once his music shop finally got approved in the spot of his choice. He was a fan of instruments made out of wood, a flute being his next investment. He pretended to wipe sweat from his forehead. "Whew.. walking around and clicking buttons is a lot of work." He chuckled to himself and sighed, "but with an attitude like that, its no wonder o'I cant find anything."  He decided to try a different part of the forest.

While walking past a group of trees. He bumped into a group of men, who knocked him down to the ground.

"Out of my way." one of them barked as he looked back at him, continuing to walk forward.

"Oi! Watch where yer steppin ya tool!" He stood up and brushed himself off. "The hell was that abou-"

He looked back toward where the men were running from, when he saw his new friend Lowenthal poke his head out of a bush. He chuckled and took a light jog to get to him. Before he could reach him, he saw that he was talking to someone, yet he didnt see who they were, and all he could hear were mumbles " 'ey there, Lowenthal. You had anything to do with those guys, lad?" Then he heard the rustling in the bush across from his friend.

Breeze stared at the player who had just exited the bush, and was apparently called Lowenthal, nearly jumping out of his skin. When he realized that the player was not a part of the previous group, he responded, "Nobody important, just a bunch of... thugs... who have a problem with my existence." He looked to the other player, who had revealed Lowenthal's name, and said, "I would not think that he had anything to do with those guys, since they were after me." Why are there suddenly other people here? I hope they are not in league with the others.

Breeze glanced around nervously. If this was a trap, it was well set up. Hopefully, it was not. But he could never be too sure, now could he?

Well, the one named Lowenthal sure wasn't. It appeared that he had been in the bushes longer than Breeze

Lowenthal saw Jomei. "Oh hey Jomei. Nawh I don't know them. I was just trying to find Nepents. Apparently I'm in the wrong clearing." He looked back over at the new face. "Problem with your existence? You mean they're trying to kill you?" He said, excited. This was his chance to prove to himself that he could be a hero. "Would you like some help?" Lowenthal asked, sitting on a log. Lowenthal couldn't just let this guy go back out into the wild, just to get PK'd.

He watched as the second head popped up. And listened him tell of the men who he bumped into. His eyes widened at his statement about them having a problem with his existence "What exactly did you do to them?!" He was not accusing the guy of doing anything dastardly, he just wanted to know why anyone would want to kill another player.

"And count me in one helping you too." Just like Lowenthal, he was not going to let this guy get killed, even if he did do something to those guys.

Breeze looked at the player whose name he still did not know, and said, "I simply protected somebody, and those fools are after me now." He thought for a bit before saying, "It should be said that the leader is the only real problem. He is out for me, and his buddies do as he does," he paused, going through several ideas, "if we killed him, one of us would become a PKer. Whereas if we... er... beat him into submission, he may come back with vengeance in his heart."

It appeared that Breeze was forced to make a decision. But which choice should he make?

Perhaps he could critically injure Cardinal and then throw him near some mobs, letting them finish the job. No, Breeze couldn't carry that out. But maybe one of these two could. Yes, he would let them know his plan.

"How about we combine the two ideas and add a... twist? We... beat the leader to a pulp, and then leave him to die to mobs. Boars? Wolves?"

Jomei's face stiffened, as he started to sweat. He had stepped up to the kid he did not know and stood over him, despite not being much taller than him. He spoke low and his tone more serious than ever. "If you think you are going to get me to murder someone.. then forget it." He threw his fist to the side, hitting the closest tree, making it shake and making some leaves fall from it. ((Martial art skil, +1 unarmed. Just so you don't think I'm god modding Jomei lol))

"Now.. o'I don't want you to get killed either. And after a remark like that, its hard for me to say so.. So we will come up with another way to help you." He knew he was speaking for the two of them, even though Lowenthal's feelings weren't as strong as Jomei's right now, he wasnt going to let his friend take place in a murder either.

"We will come up with a plan and take him down, but o'I will not assist in killing him." His back was now to the other two, his arms crossed.

Breeze sighed, saying, "I don't want to kill either. I really don't. But I already tried to reason with this man, and he refused to accept reason. Unless just beating him gets the point across, he may have to be killed. Which sucks." Yeah, that sounded like a plan, even if it was a terrible plan. Cardinal would not leave him be, and would continuously threaten his life until he is no longer capable of doing so. When they had run into each other today, Cardinal had drawn his weapon and instantly tried to kill him, showing his disregard for Breeze's life.

There was no other choice, really. Except for maybe put him in a prison, but Breeze was sure that Aincrad didn't have any of those.

I must sound really bad to these guys, but I only say this out of sheer necessity.

Lowenthal sat back down. Looking at Jomei, lowenthal spoke. "I didn't say that killing him's not the answer. I only meant that i won't do it without good reason." He said, crossing his arms. But he was getting irritated slightly. "Tell me everything that happened. Try to start from the beginning." Lowenthal said, closing his eyes.

Jomei did not say a word. He merely turned around and leaned against a tree. He did not look directly at the other two either. He was not going to kill someone. That was against his morals. It may be a game, but out lives are in its hands now. So killing someone in game here is pretty much murder. He looked at the ground and listened to him explain his reasons.

Breeze sighed, saying, "Before I explain the events leading up to this, I just want you both to know that I will not kill him. I don't even want to harm him at all, but it appears that my hand is forced. If just beating him senseless can stop his behavior, then that will be my course of action. If not... I do not know what I will do."

Now for the story. He took a deep breath, preparing for a massive explanation:

"I love to help people. It is just what I do. So when I saw a poor girl surrounded by apparent thugs, I did what was natural and decided to assist her. I approached the group and found out that they intended to kill her. I stepped in and managed to distract the leader, Cardinal, how bad being a PKer was. Of course, he doesn't seem to care about that now, seeing as he wants to butcher me. Once the girl got away, he realized that I had been stalling him and he swore that he would take my life."

He thought for a moment, "I had not seem him recently, and had assumed myself safe, for now. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I was going for a walk outside the Starting City when he came out of nowhere, howling like a beast, and tried to disembowel me. I started running, and now we are here. That is everything I can recall."

He noticed that he had spoken not in whisper, but at a normal tone, without faltering. He seemed to be getting better at socializing, even if it was about situations like this.

Lowenthal thought for a moment, remaining silent. "Alright. I'll help. But you'll owe me. Big." He said, standing up from his log. "Jomei, I'll need your help. We'll escort you back to the safe zone." Lowenthal explained. "PK's aren't allowed in safe zones, so you'll be safe there." Lowenthal explained his plan further. Really enjoying the idea. "There, we can formulate a better plan with more security. I have a shop, so we can go and hide out here." Lowenthal said. He looked over to Jomei. "Sound good?" He asked.

He was still leaning against he tre, his eyes closed. When he heard the other two talk about the new plan. He rejoined te group.

"Thats better." He said with a nod.

"Now, o'ill be more than happy to help you guys."

He was liking this plan a little more now. Now they would be able to plan with all the time theyd need, rather than being cautious about the PKers in the forest. "O'I have a shop too on the 2nd floor. Either yours or mine would be safe."

Breeze nodded, saying, "Yes, let us leave this area." He was nervous, but also relieved. These players were offering help, and Breeze was eternally grateful for that. He spoke again, smiling, "I have no clue where those places are, so one of you needs to lead the way."

The threat of Cardinal had faded away in the presence of these two players.

Lowenthal started walking to exit the forest. "Alright, I'll take point. Breeze behind me, then Jomei." He said, explaining his plan. "We'll head to my shop, it's a bit closer then floor 2." He said, joking to Jomei. He was getting excited, he didn't want to kill anyone. But he'd like to see someone try and stop him from being a hero.

Jomei nodded. He still had a seriousness to his face. He had a bad feeling about what was going to go on with this. "Alright. Lead the way." He followed the two through the forest. He kept a watchful eye, ready to strike in case anyone tried to jump out to attack them. He scanned his surroundings very carefully. As much as he didnt want to kill these PKers, he knew in his heart that defending the guy who suggested it might be the better option, being he seems at fault. Jomei let out a light sigh as he followed the two.

"I don't think we got your name by the way." he said quietly "As you probably guessed, I'm Jomei."
