PERSONALITY

Carmen has always been a loose cannon; full of flamboyance and never-ending surprises for those who are around her. She's loves to live life to the fullest, even in the most unpleasant of situations much to the dismay of most. It's not because she doesn't understand emotions and whatnot, but because Carmen wants to make the sad happy, no matter what. Even if she fails, Carmen will keep on trying. Why not? It seems that everyone quits after failing at least once, but the twenty-six year old feels the desire to finish what she's started, meaning you can bet Carmen won't end a job or personal mission until she know for sure there's no way she can succeed. But the word "impossible" is rendered useless in the woman's mind to an extent where anything and everything can work out so long as you keep trying to her. Usually those who tell her otherwise get a boot to their rear end, and a slap on the cheek with a short, motivational, scolding speech and shove forward towards the direction they were originally going. There's no escape from Carmen, not ever, if you tell her you quit someone or feel the need to. In fact, don't even mention doing so in front of her. M'kay?

This "devoted" trait seems to extend even to the point of revenge. Being a friendly, warm person, it takes plenty of hate for Carmen to even release vengeance on anybody. But when she does, it's a world of pain coming their way. She'll do anything she has to in order for you to feel the pain you inflicted on her, no matter the cause of effect of the situation. Most would be scared of this ticking time-bomb, though there's really no reason to be unless she's made it clear she'll hunt you down in the dead of night, because Carmen's heart is rock solid and bent on making anyone and everyone her friend. Cliche popular girl? Maybe. But anyone just talking to Carmen, even if it's just for directions to the nearest gas station, will make her day the best there ever was and heart sore into the sky. Carmen truly loves and cares for every kind soul in the world. But it has been proven from time to time that many don't approve of Carmen's childish hopes, and slight immaturity. Those people have been proven that they were wrong about her, however, after so long because you eventually realize that Carmen is mature about many things and at the perfect times. Life isn't all fun and games, and never will be.

So you could imagine how easy it is to become a friendly face in Carmen's eyes; But are you really her friend? Probably not. Carmen is so socially skilled, it can seem she truly likes you and would do anything for you, but that just isn't the case. She used to be that way, to be so naive as to think everyone that told you they were your friend actually was, but those days are over. Acting is one thing and meaning it is another, after all. To be a true friend of Carmen is to have her back no matter what, to love her unconditionally, and she likes those her are honest enough to tell her that there's gunk in her teeth or a stain on her shirt. Or even those who point out her flaws, because in Carmen's eyes that's just the ideal friend. Forget all those men and women who criticize themselves aloud, for sympathy or just because they do naturally, because Carmen dislikes anyone who is a drag and hangs around to personally take someone down with their depressing ways.

Being a fun girl most of the time, you'd think that gets tiring. Well, it does. This persona of her's, something she does happen to get bored of, is half-true and half-fake. Meaning, sometimes Carmen is truly in a good mood, and other times she's hiding her sadness with a painted smile. Mostly because Carmen doesn't want to be a hypocrite and make others feel bad for her, bringing their mood down with her's. She prefers to just chill out on the couch like any other female does in a chick-flick, and delve in junk food and watch sad movies. Except, Carmen tends to bring her sorrows to her mother or a very, very close friend from time to time just to lift the heavy weight of whatever's wrong off her shoulders.

HISTORY

Carmen, much like everyone, wished for the "American Dream" as a child. She wanted to be free to do whatever she wanted, to marry the perfect man that would sweep her off of her feet, and to live in a lavish home full of expensive furniture; but most of all, Carmen wanted a child.

This would prove to be such a silly, silly dream in due time, but Carmen didn't think so. She was raised in a home of 3 other children, being the eldest of them all. So, from the very beginning you could imagine Carmen having to help her mother and father tend and nurture all of these kids, which made her gain such a giddy, friendly nature and the want to have a child of her own. She'd draw pictures of her "future family" and use a magnet to hang the papers on the fridge, along with talk to her friends about how amazing her life would be once she was older. The young girl surrounded herself with a small group of good friends, true friends, ones that would have her back until the end, and had a completely stable home with two loving parents. Of course, every sibling believes they hate one another, and has those childish feuds, but it seems Carmen's family was the exact opposite. Every night a "family meeting" would commence where all members shared their feelings, troubles, wishes, and whatever else need be before hugging and parting to do as they wished. This proved to be worth the grueling meetings, because after a while each sibling softened and became more in touch with each other. So, if Carmen wanted to play football with the boys', her two younger brothers would vouch for her. If she needed some makeup, or wanted to go somewhere late at night without her parents knowing, her younger sister would help without a moment of hesitation. A little unrealistic, you might say; but a little mental contact with those you are with every day of your life can go a long way.

Due to such a spontaneous personality, it was obvious Carmen was going to be a little difficult to handle. Every night she'd come home far too late, with parents sitting at home and waiting for her. You know, basic "rebel kid" actions. Carmen probably kept up with this because she knew her parents would never truly punish her, only scold the girl and tell her why it was wrong much like they did to every one of their children. It's unknown why they never changed this method, but it was likely that the parents felt a family meeting would do good on its own in the near future. Carmen never had tough parents after all, but don't get confused they were as loving and caring as could be.

Perhaps more scolding should have been used, because at the age of sixteen Carmen had become pregnant with a good friend of her's, Vance. Though disappointed and a little ashamed of their eldest daughter, after a while of arguing and separation Carmen's parents couldn't have been happier for their little girl. Vance was the highlight out of all of this, of course. They'd proven their love for each other, and were always so happy in each others presence. Vance's parents, however, had pretended as if their son never existed and kick him out of their home in a short three months since the big news. The solution was rather obvious and simple: Carmen's parents let Vance move in. He did get their daughter pregnant, after all. A few arguments here and there, a pleasant life at home; well, you'd think this family came straight from an old television show with how perfect they were.

Things weren't so perfect for too long. Eight months into pregnancy, Carmen had a miscarriage that would soon reveal it was impossible for her to have a child. This wrecked Carmen emotionally, someone who'd always wanted a child of her own... of course this would ruin her life. Soon after, Vance became more and more distant until he mentioned to Carmen that he wanted a child and if she couldn't provide it then they should get divorced. Carmen complied instantly, completely understanding the need for a child, and got divorced from Vance while taking back her original last name at the age of seventeen. Now, Carmen was just a lump on a log sitting at home all alone, with no place to go, everyone sympathizing her so much it was nearly pathetic. What was a woman to do in this situation? Not to mention, she'd dropped out of school early for the sake of her child. There was nowhere decent Carmen to worked, and she sure as heck wasn't going to begin high-school all over again.

So then came online school, which Carmen slightly enjoyed. Her childhood friends were still in contact with her, and they'd go out for a fun time when none of them were working, so Carmen was never lonely. Especially with her younger siblings still out and about around the house. She put those computer skills to use, and finished far earlier than she could ever even imagine. After a few years of simple online jobs to earn her money, Carmen was asked to become a paid intern for a business that developed advanced computer programs and helped people out with their technical issues; Carmen couldn't ask for more, and felt like this job would be a little fun once she was used to it. The pay was what got her attention the most, and she gladly accepted. With a paid flight to Japan, a free apartment rental for three months, and even a gift placed in her new, temporary home, Carmen felt like her life was finally on the right tracks.

That gift, however, was what stopped her from going to work early the next morning, and what changed her life more than she wanted.

VIRTUES

» Understanding - Carmen, due to being the eldest sibling, can understand and feel most emotions that people experience, and is very tolerant when having to listen to the problems of others. She's able to forgive and forget, so long as you talk the issue out with her or at least attempt to; because if not she'll plan dire revenge on you. Still, if you act the right way and prove you're attempting to do good, she'll be able to understand. Or at least try to understand, and make her revenge a tad bit less painful than originally planned.

» Nurturing - No, she doesn't over-sympathize people like most would do, Carmen just can't help but care for others because it's in her nature. She won't cry over your issues, or go "aww", instead she'll talk the problem out with you in order to come to a conclusion, and even offer advice like a real mother or sibling would to their own family members. Being over-emotional in someone else's emotional times is just overrated.

» Hard-working - Not believing in the word "impossible" or knowing how exactly people quit on things, it's not abnormal for Carmen to put everything she's got into what she believes in or what she's working on, because once her goals are set she goes for the gold. It's crazy to think how hard one woman will work even for things so little, but Carmen puts 100% into everything she does no matter what. Don't even try to hold her back, or she'll lash out at you.

FLAWS

» Immature - Being someone who still participates in childish games, and a girl that enjoys playing the rare prank on any individual she desires, Carmen could easily be dubbed "immature" by the likes of anyone around. She'll be the one to take stupid dares or bets, and carry out with them even if it consisted of tattooing your head. Her comments and ideas of fun are also odd for someone of her age, but she could care less because what others think is nothing to the twenty-six year old.

» Reckless - Most of Carmen's actions are thoughtless and irrational, she doesn't stop to think before she does mostly anything. Whether it's breaking the rules or making fun of that player-killer, she'll do it so long as her mind conjures the deed up. Carmen thinks you should always go with your gut instinct as soon as it hits, and lives by the motto, "What's life without a few surprises?"

» Stubborn - There's nothing, nothing that can move Carmen from her current goals or adjectives. You'd better not get in her way, or try and get her to quit on something, or she'll show you how determined she really is to get things done. Carmen doesn't care if her goals are silly in your eyes, or even pointless because to her that's never the case. Usually when Carmen picks out something she must get done, it isn't dumb or for an idiotic reason at all.

» Soft-hearted - Because of those "family meetings" all of her life, Carmen has developed a caring, motherly part of herself that feels the need to tend to anybody in an affectionate matter. She has deep understanding for about everything, and will do anything in her power to make you feel better or to just see a smile on your face. This also happens to be one of her traits because she'd always wanted a child, and knows she can't have one. This is a flaw because she trusts everyone with her life, and can put herself into dangerous situations where she can be used and/or mistreated. Though, that won't last for long because Carmen isn't one to take abuse, though she doesn't realize what's happening until it does.

» Emotional - Carmen's emotional needs have been intensified ever since her child mishap, and if not cared for she can get a little moody. Rudeness also tends to get to her fairly quickly, though she doesn't show this on the outside, and she hides when her feelings are hurt with a spunky attitude and wide smile, along with a few remarks to "show" she's truly okay. Carmen finds it easy to cry and becomes very, very embarrassed when seen doing this. So, just because she doesn't act like it, doesn't mean she isn't feeling anything on the inside.
