One hit was all it would take to finish it off now, but the problem was getting to hit it. The Wasp wasn't nearly as fast as the Wasp Queen, but their differences in sizes meant that the similar evasive tactics the Wasp Queen employed were working more in the smaller wasp's favour. Takao swung a wide horizontal strike at the wasp and missed when it evaded again. Takao repaid the favour when the wasp tried to strike him again as well, but missed when Takao stepped aside and allowed the wasp's momentum to carry it past him. "Alright, alright. Takao 0 Posted July 12, 2015 Author #22 Report Share Posted July 12, 2015 [Combat Sequence] Takao Large Wasp Worker Takao wasn't terribly certain that the monsters could understand and comprehend the things he said, but each time he got a rage fueled reaction from them following a taunt, it really threw the idea back into question. The wasp flew toward Takao at high speeds, or about as fast as it could muster. He didn't have a problem following its speed with his eyes, and with the distance between them, he'd decided there was enough time to prepare a sword art. He poised the blade behind him and slid his feet apart until they stood about shoulder width apart. The wasp came within range and he evaded the body slam by leaping into the air. He twisted and twirled his body by throwing his left leg around, using the weight and momentum to snap his sword arm forward. It cleaved the wasp in two down the middle, depleting the last of its health. It wasn't within eyesight, as he'd been wandering around the fields for quite a while, but he knew the direction to head in. As he walked, he kept half his attention on the way ahead while frequently checking the various menus he'd pulled up. He had skill points to assign, materials to be accounted for, stats and parameters to check, and equipment to examine and possibly have repaired. The fight with the wasp queen had left his health depleted beyond his comfort zone, and the second wasp only lowered it further. But even then it was still worth it. The experience, both literal and numerical, that he'd acquired from the wasp queen was invaluable and immensely useful. His weapon skill would be raised as a result. His damage output would increase, therefore increasing his chances of survival, therefore increasing the amount of fun he was going to be having with stronger monsters.
