[PP-F1]River of Truth(Calrex)

Recommended Posts

Alex opened his eyes as he sat up from his laying position. Huh..... I don't remember what I was dreaming of, but it couldn't have been good the way I jumped awake. He quickly put his clothes on and grabbed his dagger from the night stand by the bed he had slept in last night. Quickly, Alex pulled the laces of his shoes up and tied them, charging out of the inn, yelling "Thanks for the stay!" Back to the NPC's. Alex ran out into the sunlight, hoping to see his dagger gleam in the sunlight as it always did. But for some reason, no matter what way Alex held the dagger, the sun would not reflect off of it . That's also weird...Alex walked out of the Starting City, through the gates and into the forests of Floor 1.

But right upon leaving the Starting City, Alex began to look around. For friends, and more.

(OOC: Sorry Calrex. was in a hurry!)

Calrex gave a small yawn as he continued walking through the field zones of the first floor. Since it was the lowest floor in Aincrad, he didn't bother with equipping his most powerful equipment, instead opting to rely on the status boosts granted by his experience in the various skills oriented towards combat. First was the Grand Dragoon armor, whose pauldrons, poleyns, and single gauntlet rested over his casual combat clothing. Second and third were the Amethyst Charm and Ocean's Defense, with his familiar Roc soaring overhead, "I wonder why the eleventh floor raid has not started just yet. Is the meeting taking that long to conclude?"

Hearing his blue peregrine falcon familiar screech Calrex looked over towards the forest area as his <<Reveal>> skill activated, the trees becoming transparent as his eyes scanned across the landscape, locking onto another nearby player. Like Lindow from before, he was of fairly low level, far too low to be running around willy-nilly in the fields. He gave a small sigh to himself before activating his <<Sprint>> skill, quickly closing the distance before coming just out of sight of the younger player, "I probably should approach this carefully. Maybe for now I'll look around the area and keep an eye on him, but if he gets into some tough combat I'll step in and draw the creature's attention, just like last time. Guess while I'm down here I'll try my best to keep other starting players from getting killed right out of the gate."

  • 2 weeks later...

Alex continued walking into the forest, hoping to find something.... Something at all. But this time- in the forest- Alex was finally not as scared as he used to be.  Now, Alex felt he could take on a pack of wolves.(Which he couldn't, of course, but still). Alex continued to walk, staring at all the trees, which in about once every eight trees, Alex could see a pair of red glowing eyes in the tree. But obviously they were ignoring Alex. Alex was still scared of the owl like creatures in the trees(Heck is scared of boars), but Alex has to keep going. It at least wouldn't be an issue unless all the owls in the trees swarmed together to attack Alex. If that happened, I would end up dying, with my last virtual words being : "Stop! Give me mercy! Please!" as I cower on the floor.... Alex continued to walk and look up in trees as he thought to himself.

As Calrex continued to casually scan around the area he continued to glance from time to time over at the player he was watching over from a distance, his <<Reveal>> skill still active to ensure that the trees and other objects in the landscape didn't hinder his ability to do so, "It certainly seems like he's not accustomed to wandering around here just yet. That can be quite dangerous, especially if any monsters decide to catch onto his avatar and engage."

"Roc, go ahead and continue keeping an eye on him. Let me know immediately if anything goes south."

The falcon gave a nod as he quickly winded his way through the trees, coming to rest on a branch above where Alex was walking, ruffling a wing for a second before shifting over, continuing to watch the player while occasionally looking back to where Calrex was.

In the meantime Calrex continued a slow pace, following a decent distance away, watching the area around for any potential monsters that might spawn nearby, "From what I remember the most prominent type of enemy on this floor is various types of boars and the like. Certainly nothing I can't handle, even without using my sword. The main thing would be if they target him first. Should a battle start I'd best draw the aggro towards me, just like all of my past battles in a group."

Alex looked up at the trees every once in a while, hearing a rustling of leaves in the trees. As Alex continued to walk, he kept a visual on his own surroundings. Alex knew he was going to be  attacked by a monster eventually, but he was just making sure there were no monsters following him, planning on jump scaring Alex the first chance they got. As Alex found his way through the tangles of the forest trees, he had to be careful not to trip over vines. But as Alex continued to walk, Alex was finally attacked.

A forest like wolf attacked him from the side, and it seemed like a rather stronger one, with more health than the average wolf. "And finally, my stalker closes in on me." Alex stared at the wolf intently, as he flipped out his dagger. Alex continued to stare at the wolf deeply until finally he thought to himself, Break! Alex charged at the wolf, Swinging his dagger like crazy. The wolf attempted his attack first. The wolf went for a tackle, as Alex attempted to block with his dagger. The block would have worked if Alex wasn't so easy to move and shove around. The wolf ran through the block and onto Alex.

But quickly the dagger was aimed at the wolves lungs. DIE! Alex aimed..... Then shot for the lungs. But the dagger attacked missed, as Alex flipped up and got the dumb wolf off of him.

<<Howl>> Activated

"Tch...I should have guessed..."

Calrex heard Roc give a screech, signaling that something was happening with the other player he was watching over. With his <<Reveal>> skill active he saw that the boy had come into contact with a wolf, a common enemy on the first floor alongside boars. He gave a calming breath before activating his <<Sprint>> skill, quickly dashing through the trees before arriving where the two were engaged in combat.

"Same as before, draw the creature's attention away from the other player first!"

Quickly assuming a squared stance he quickly slammed his fists together. Since he was not donning the Grand Chariot, the spinning chains did not surround his body. Instead a loud bluish shockwave emanated from the contact point between his knuckles, spreading out until it passed by the wolf. It's eyes immediately shifted over and locked onto Calrex as he gave a nod, going into his fighting stance, "Hey you alright over there?"
