[SP-F4] The Missing Child

Recommended Posts

The first spider became aggressive once more as it startled Lindow as it moved closer to him. He backed away from the slow and was struck in the belly by one of its armor plated legs, but not before his thorns activated and sunk into its bony exoskeleton. Lindow drew his blade and arced it around and slammed it down towards the ground. He missed his intended target but it was enough of a blow to spook the second spider as it charged then backed away slowly. His eyes were fixed on the two, this battle could not last much longer. He was determined to kill both, but as it appears to be even with the heavy momentum enhancment, his goliath swings were not making any sort of impact on his enemies. He deffinetly needed something with a bit more bite, but that would come in the future. As of now, these two spiders stand in the way of the slope. He could probably manage two more rounds from attacks from both before he had to call it quits. He shook his head, if he had to jump down that slope, he could be sliding into even more trouble.

"Back!" Lindow grunted swinging his sword like an oaf, he was horribly injured at this time both spiders taking massive chunks of his life points away. He grunted spilling over to the floor gripping his blade, his eyes wondered around and he started to crawl towards the slope. He felt his leg caught by one of the spiders as it sank its fangs into him. He gave a bellowing grunt of pain from his parched lips. He swung his blade one more and missed, the other spider came before him and bit down into him as well, he could feel the fangs just rip pieces of his digital flesh apart as he was bitten. He struggled and ended up slashing the air. The sword came out of his hands went flying towards the spider. The spider lifted its strong leg and deflected the sword into the spiraling darkness beyond the slope. Lindow cursed, mustered the last bit of his strength and dove for the slope. His body crashed into the slippery slide as he was twisted and turned from the downfall. He came crashing down to the floor and fell unconscious. His hands buried underneath him as he fell, his vision blurred before he passed out from the loss of the HP

OOC: Due to the nature of this RP and me screwing up royally bad on my part Lindow is pronounced dead from this point on. [8/29/15]

Lindow was gravely injured, and there was no escaping the clutches of death from the spiders that seem to make him his meal. Staggering over his own weapon, the bloodied warrior blinked and found comfort in his upcoming death. Going towards the menu and sliding over the function keys. He sent a message to the first name that appeared on his list: Opal. Quickly succumbing to the pain, he had little time and sent her his message.

"I was tracking down the ones who were trying to kill the children in Snowfrost, I ended up in a cavern to which I can not escape from. I don't have much time...My location is at the bottom of a cavern at the center cave on Floor Four. My equipment will be there, but I don't know how long. Opal, escape this game with your life. Don't do anything foolish, but be brave and strong. And remember those who died in this Hell...Lindow..."

Motioning his hands away from the menu, the two handed swordsman hefted his blade once more over his shoulders, "Crystal, Jasmine...I am sorry..." He lunged forward and attacked with all his might...in the end, he fought bravely, with courage and died doing what he loved. He'd like to think he protected those of Snowfrost for at least a little while, to his guild...he wished he could have done more for them. The fangs of the spiders dug into his body and sharply cut him...blood seemed to soak out of the armor around him and fell to the floor in pools. His eyes losing life, his body feeling numb. "Calrex...Live!" then he exploded into the digital frontier, free of this Hellish game so that his soul may finaly rest in peace.

The greying wariror had rested for what seemed like an eternity, the feeling in his legs had finally come back and he could grip his sword with ease. His HP had returned to the yellow, but he would not force himself into any more combat situations. Right now, his priority was standing up and getting the hell out of this place. Once more using the Hard Edge as a crutch, he lifted himself up to his feet but he fell against the wall with one hand leaning on it as he erected his form. he grunted heavily, "Getting...too old for this." he wheezed and caught his breath. Feeling ok to walk, he sheathed the massive blade behind him and started his journey once more. Keeping his hands on the wall, he rounded the corner of the corridor until he came up to another inlet of land. He could see a pool of water, crystal clear in nature and it looked appealing and refreshing. He looked to his left and right, there didn't seem to be anything aggressive in the area. He got towards the edge and dipped his hands in the cool water and splashed it into his face. He rubbed vigourously getting the dark mud and dirt off his face to clean himself. The waters felt soothing to him and he felt more refreshed, there was no healing properties but he knew he needed a nice hot bath when he returned. Standing up, he felt his strength return to hm once again. He was able to stand without so much as a grimace and his armor started to look as lustrous as it had been the firt time. Nodding to himself he set out to find the exit.

The two handed swordsman looked around, there didn't seem to be anything else in this little cave besides the refreshing pool of water he just used to wash his face. Picking his feet up and marching along, he kept his hand on the walls once more as to keep balance and to keep track of where he was going. If this cavern or cataclysm turned into a maze, he should be able to eventually find a way out towards an exit. The cavern was dark and he constantly heard the droplets of water falling from the ceiling. He was anxious and nervous about getting out, his health was steadily increasing but he was still in the caution area. Right now, he could not afford another combat scenario. He gulped as he relaxed his mind, he was in far worse than this in real life, bullets flying in every direction, smoke and dust in the room. He had been shot before several times in the shoulder and he always came out alive. And he would do so now. Nodding as to reassure himself, he knew he would be alright. He pushed forward through the blanket of darkness, barely any visible light in front of him as his hand guided him to another corner. He turned with his hand and then there was a laughter.

"Hahaha..." it echoed off the walls as Lindow turned on a dime and looked around him, studying any sort of movement that would catch his gaze. His hand immediatly went for the Hard Edge on his back and he took stance watching carefully.

"Little prey caught in my web...You Crimson Blades are far to weak to play with us. Especially you...Lindow...Hahahaha..." whoever it was, knew him by name. His teeth grinded against each other as he moved further towards a lighted area, "How about you stop being a coward and show yourself to me?" Lindow egged the man on.

"I don't think so...I am quite content where I stand. But don't worry, your time will eventually come to an end as will your other cloaked brothers and sisters. We'll be keeping an eye on you though, Lindow. There is something about you that is special, but you must survive this hell first before you even think about crossing our path."

The laughter lit up the cavern once more and bounced off the walls as it slowly died out and away from him. Lindow grit his teeth and pushed forward, he found strength in his weak legs and started to run towards the movement of the decaying echoes. With his hand still on the hilt of the blade, he searched through the darkness quickly and ran through corridor after corridor, took turn after turn keeping to the right handed path as he continued. There was something about that voice he did not like, was he in their trap?

In the dark corridors he ran swiftly and without incident keeping one hand on the hilt of his blade, while the other was out in front of him and rolling against the right wall to keep track of where he was. As he made several turns and through many narrow passageways, Lindow stopped when he felt the bitter coldness of the air around him and the trickle of light coming through at the other end. He wheezed and panted as he hunched over, his hands on his knees. He wanted to fall down to say a prayer, but he was on the chase for that mysterious voice in the cavern, no doubt it was one of the PKers from the child killing guild. As he gathered air he made off once more with a sprint, the cold wind nipping and biting his exposed flesh. He pushed through the coldness of the air and burst into a lunge as he threw himself into the cold embrace of the snow. He slid forward and did a tumble into the snow dunes as he came to a stop. He shook his head and swiped off the snow that covered his body. He quickly went to his menu with a swipe of his finger and enabled the map. He was about half a day away from Snowfrost if he calculated this right, but he also had foot prints to follow.

He started to track them down but the further he got away from the cave the harder the snow fell around him and eventually he was unable to continue his investigation as the snow was burying the foot prints with fresh powder. Lindow grit his teeth and was mad at himself he couldn't find whoever that was, even the slightest clue would have been helpful. He kicked the snow in frustration and placed his hands on his hips. His eyes wandered around and he smoothed the peppered hair from his right eye. The crimson cloak around him folded over the length of his body as he lifted the hood up over his face to offer mild protection from the snow, he would begin his long journey back to Snowfrost.

It was dark outside and his crimson cloak billowed from the flurry of snow around him. His face was red from the cold touch of the air as his numb body finally made it back to the glow of the city. As he entered the safe zone, Lindow fell to his knees and collapsed.

When he came to, there was a warmth surrounding his body, a light that seemed to swallow him up. His eyes were blurry as they slightly opened, he noticed a face...his hands reached for it, "Crystal..." he murmered softly in his delerium. He touched the face with the soft pads of his finger tips, a dainty hand closed over his and pushed it down back to his body, "Rest, Lindow...Just sleep..."

Opal was in the room with him, along with Lenneth and few others who had found him outside of town, they were unsure if he would make it through the night. Whatever journey he had gone through, it sapped most of the life out of him. He was an older guy, perhaps it was just too much for him to handle. All they could do was prey that he would see light. His eyes fluttered open and closed, he could barely make anything out. Those words to sleep sounded about right to him, the warrior relaxed and his eyes beat once more before fully closing.

Summary:
+1 SP
+400 Col
+6 Mats

*Special Note: Ended up having to escape from a battle. Detailed from the start of the battle, Lindow found a way to escape should the battle come too dangerous. This was RPed out due to his tactical background as a SWAT member and as DC of the SFPD law enforcment with 15+ years of service. Due to the circumstances wasn't sure if it was allowed completely, but will leave the fate of Lindow to the mod who locks this topic. Thanks!
