The first floor's City of Beginnings was massive, filled with a plethora of NPCs and low level players that had no desire to progress for one reason or another. Takao didn't mind them much, and he could sympathize with the majority, despite him not experiencing the same cowardice or apprehension that most did. There were times that the first floor was populated with large amounts of higher level players though, despite the higher floors possessing the same or even superior commodities as the starting city, and that was the occasional gathering for organized dueling. It wasn't anything on a large enough scale to merit a massive following, only ten or so players that Takao had rarely seen had gathered at the amphitheatre; it was the venue of choice for their brawling. Two of the gathering were just wrapping up their duel, and a small smile grew on the brunet's face as he watched the victor celebrate.

Takao leaned his weight onto his knees as the two began to return to their seats, and the gathering began to look among each other to see who the next participants would be. Everybody had already had a go at each other, save for Takao who only ever watched the event. He shrugged his shoulders and slowly rose up to stand. "Ah well, what do I have to lose?" He muttered, his words followed by a dry chuckle. He proceeded down the stairs and stood in the middle of the open-air stadium, glancing around the crowd to see who was interested in dueling him.
