[PP-F1] <Earning a Living> Lily (Complete)

Recommended Posts

It was finally time that Kitty would take on a profession. She decided upon a profession she would like more than the others, becoming a tailor wouldn't be that hard... Especially if she had her new friend's help... The girl who absolutely adored plushies... The girl named Lily. Even though there were many tailors, Kitty intended on getting a shop, but it would remain closed until she reached a high crafting level. Her fingers quickly typed out the PM, in which she sent to Lily..

To: Lily

Subject: Engagement

Text: Hello there. Remember when we discussed the whole me becoming a tailor? Well, if you are available. Meet me in the center of the town of beginnings.

xoxo, Kitty

"I'm so bored" Lily groaned as she walked out of the cafe that she had been in for several hours. She had been doing absolutely nothing for the past few days as there was simply nothing interesting. Going out of the safe zone was something that she didn't want to do alone so fighting some boars and wolves to kill some time wasn't an option. Other than visiting shops and cafés there wasn't anything in the starting city that Lily liked to do, which caused her to spend her days on wooden benches where all she did was sleeping and listening at coversations of people that were close to her. As she once again made her way to her best friend, the wooden bench, Lily stopped as a letter icon with a 1 on it popped up infront of her. The girl pressed the button, making the message of a female that she had met not too long ago appear. A weak smile appeared on her face for a few seconds as she read the message. She usually didn't like helping people that much as she was quite lazy but right now she would rather help a friend than to Die of being too bored. With a little hop Lily turned around and began to walk towards the center of the town.

After about four minutes of walking Lily arrived at the spot that she had been told to go to. Lily's eyes went from person to person, trying to find the woman that she was looking for. It only took 30 seconds to spot the girl with the cat ears and the beautiful blonde hair. With her usual serious expression Lily walked towards her and quickly hugged the woman as it was the first thing that she could come up with to greet Kitty. "Hi" the short girl said as she backed off slightly.

With a small noise, Kitty realized someone was hugging her, when they backed off, she realized it was Lily, she waved a hello, "Lily! I am quite surprised you actually are agreeing to help me!" Her smile widened as she gave the girl a hug, pulling her back to Kitty, "As my PM told you, I would like your help with becoming a tailor! I found an NPC, whom has offered to train me!" Her words came out quite fast as she was very excited. Her tone had a hint of nervousness, as she had never done many quests before. This would in fact, only be her second quest she had taken part in.

Liy didn't bother talking more than needed so just smiled slightly for a second as a response. As the woman hugged her again Lily's expression went back to her usual serious one and she wiped away a large lock of hair that was once again blocking her sight. Lily carefully backed off again and sat down on the ground infront of Kitty. She was preparing herself for walking a lot so she was trying to sit down as much as she could. Lily looked up as the woman began to talk and nodded as a response. "Good, I'll help you" she said, looking at the woman's hair. She really liked that her friend was going for Tailor as she then had someone to go to for plushies and cute things. Lily had struggled with picking either Performer or Tailor as proffession but eventually ended up with performer.  "Where do we need to go?" Lily mumbled, looking around at the Npc's around them. She was hoping that their destination was like a few meters away but that was most likely not going to be true. Lily puffed and got up again, quickly pulling her sleeves over her hands as they were cold.

With a swipe of her hand, she sent the quest data over to Lily in a PM, "That should tell you what we need." Upon opening the quest data herself, she scrolled to the new objective...

[] Make 1 fabric

-Collect web from spider nest

-Go to the loom in Tailor's shop

-Make 1 fabric

That was what she had to do, she was ready for it, "The spider nest is in the forest nearby, tell me when you are ready to head out, and we will head out." Her eyes scanned the first floor clearing, as she waited for her friend to be ready. She was too serious for her own good, not that it mattered.

Lily looked over the information and frowned as she read where they had to go. She wasn't really a big fan of spiders and the spiders in SAO were most likely not going to be the little ones that you could easily get rid of. Lily isn't really scared of bugs but simply felt really disgusting when seeing one. Everytime she would have to face one of the disgusting creatures a major urge of killing them would take over Lily's mind. In the past she would usually throw anything that she could get her hands on to a spider or another bug. She eventually gave herself the title "Master Insect hunter" as she sometimes spent hours hunting bugs in the backyard.

The short girl clicked the quest information away and looked back at Kitty as she told her the location of the spider nest. Lily nodded as a response and quickly opened her inventory, equipping her basic short sword. "Ready." she said as she pushed the sword into its sheath.

With a nod of her head, she swiped the quest data away, before opening her inventory and equipping her dagger, "Let's go then." She started to exit the town, her steps taking her closer towards the forest, in which she would find the spiders. With many glances behind her, she smiled and continued her walk. She was enjoying the slight breeze and warm air quite nicely, as it wasn't too hot, nor was it too cold. Her hair floated behind her, as the breeze lightly blew across the place in where she was walking.

Lily followed Kitty as she began to walk towards the place that they had to go. She wasn't that comfortable with leaving the starting city but being with someone else atleast made it a little harder to die. Lily really hoped that they didn't have to fight a lot as she wasn't that high of a level so would most likely struggle with even killing a single boar. Not only was she low leveled Lily barely had any experience with her sword, So fighting was just something that would be smart to avoid. Sadly she had already accepted helping Kitty before even knowing the details of what they had to do. Lily started to walk a little faster so that she could walk right next to the woman. "Why do you want to become a tailor?" she asked while looking at the woman. She honestly didn't really care that much about why she had picked to become a Tailor but she thought that the woman would probably appreciate to not have akward silences.

As soon as they set foot in the forest, Lily asked her a question, "Well.. Maybe because, Tailors have so much they can do. They can make clothing, armor, plushies... It is just something that I really want to try out. Plus, they are quite useful. If I remember, you want to be a performer? Why do you want to be a performer?" Her blue/silver eyes scanning the forest, as she suddenly had an idea, We don't have to fight! We can just gather the spider web, if we find a spider cave! She spoke her idea aloud, and waited to see what Lily thought of it.

Lily nodded happily as the girl said the word plushies. When Kitty finished answering her question she threw one right back at her. After a few seconds of thinking Lily responded. "I like singing and making music. It makes me happy I guess." Lily looked around the forest to make sure that they wouldn't get ambushed by a mob. When she suddenly heard a twig break and saw some sort of bird take off Lily jumped back slightly. She was quite uncomfortable out of the safe zone so even a harmless bird could scare her.  The woman told her a rather odd plan that Lily didn't find so.. good. They had to find and collect spider web and the spiders were most likely located on or around their webs, so the chance that they would become hostile when the two would do an attempt to steal their web was quite big, especially if it was a big spider. "Maybe we won't be able to avoid the spiders." she said to show her concern. Not only was it probably hard to avoid fighting, Lily also had a weird thing that she got quite angry when she saw ugly bugs. She was worried that upon seeing a spider she may be flooded with rage and attack it.

With a small chuckle, Kitty found the cave appear in front of her, she looked around, and noticed the broken and dead trees that surrounded her, something big had been here, although she wasn't worried about it. Her eyes continued the survey, before she crouched down and grabbed one of the broken twigs on the ground. She looked at the bark, and noticed it was charred. She just shrugged it off, and stood back up, "Let's hurry and then get out of here, I hate the aura this place has." Her silver/blue eyes flashed, as she straightened her outfit, and walked to the entrance of the cave. Without wanting to go inside, as she would get a darkness debuff. She bent down and picked up a stone, hoping to attract a spider, she tossed it into the cave...

When the Cave finally entered her sight Lily puffed and tightened her grip around her sword. She already wasn't looking forward to go into a cave but now that she actually saw it the urge to stay out of it was even bigger. Lily nodded as a response to the woman saying to hurry and get out of the dark cave as soon as possible, she didn't want to stay in too long and was happy that she wasn't the only one. As the woman threw a rock into the darkness Lily stared into the cave, waiting for something or someone to come out. After a few seconds of silence a abnormally large spider suddenly appeared and came closer to the two females. It was half as big as Lily and its eyes were bright red which made Lily feel somewhat uncomfortable.

Lily immediatly ran towards the spider with a dead serious look. Her eyes were focused on the spider and she wasn't paying any attention to anything else. As soon as the spider realized the Little girl come closer it also started moving towards her. Lily pulled her sword back and lifted it up slightly as she came closer to the spider's left legs, activating her <<Slant>> Sword art. The spider noticed the attack immediatly and simply pulled up its left legs, making the girl miss and fall over, dropping her sword. The spider immediatly attempted a counterattack and tried to bite her in her legs, but Lily luckily could crawl away just in time. She quickly got up and quickly grabbed her sword from the ground. Lily took a few steps back and stared into the Spider's eyes.

A look of determination crossed Kitty's face as she thought back on what Tristan had shown her while they were fighting the Wasp Queen. She closed her eyes to focus, and activated her dagger skill <Side Bite> as she opened her eyes, they flashed with a death look. She surged forward, and jabbed at the exact right time. Her dagger plunged into the spider and it burst into a million crystals. Her eyes flashed with excitement, she may have had a low roll, so she gathered no loot. But, since it was a quest, the spider still dropped her quest item. She hit the accept, and watched as her quest status updated... Now, to turn it into the silk that was required, they needed to head back, and work at the loom.

It slightly annoyed Lily that Kitty had been able to kill the spider in one turn. Even though they were working together Lily still felt jealous that she wasn't able to hit the spider at all and her friend easily hit it. Offcourse Lily didn't change her expression even the slightest making it almost impossible to see that she was in fact not that happy that Kitty hit the spider. Lily managed to calm herself down thinking about cute plushies and clothes that Kitty could make for her in the future. After gazing into the darkness for a bit her eyes fell back on the woman. "Are we done or do we need something else" She mumbled while pushing her sword back into its sheath. Lily quickly wiped some dust off of her outfit and brushed away some hair that was infront of her eyes.

With a small smile, that erased into a normal face, she spoke softly, "Well, I need to head back to town and visit the tailor that is training me. He is going to teach me how to make silk." Her silver/blue eyes sparkled with excitement as she thought of how close her profession was, and how close she could actually call a place 'home'. Her body turned back towards town and she started to skip along the pathway, looking like a child. Her eyes bouncing from one tree to another as they started to look more alive and not as dead, her footsteps stopped as she remembered the charred branch. Her eyes widened, and her body turned back to Lily, "We have to get out of here... Quickly." She turned back around and started to get out of the forest as fast as her strides would take her.

"okay" Lily responded while stretching her arms. Kitty's answer had made her both happy and annoyed at the same time. She was happy because it meant that Lily probably didn't have to search for anything, but annoyed that Kitty only needed one item. In her own earning a living she had to search for multiple items in a basement filled with junk which was far from a nice experience. Luckily her friend Astropheric had helped her otherwise it would've taken ages. Lily had also helped him with his earning a living to become a tailor right after she finished, so this was going to be the second time that Lily was helping someone to become a tailor. She was quite happy that she had picked Performer as Tailor seemed to be a very popular proffession that was picked by quite some people. Lily completely ignored the rather childish skipping that Kitty was doing and just stared at the path when the female suddenly turned around and said they had to get away. The sudden change of Kitty's mood really confused Lily. She was thinking that it could probably be a prank but just to be sure Lily began to run and followed Kitty.

With her eyes wide, she quickly escaped the forest, "There was something there... Couldn't you feel it?" Her silver/blue eyes just glanced around, as her run turned into a walk as they got closer to the town once again. Her body seeming to be in a careful posture instead of her cheerful one. Her dagger was in its sheath as she thought of what could have made the trees all dead... It could be the venom of the spiders... I am not sure what is making that happen... But, I am happy that we got away without anything happening. She decided she would check it out when she reached a higher level, with the proper equipment and proper build she would see what gave her such uneasiness.

Lily was really confused by the woman's panicking. She began to doubt Kitty's sanity for a bit as she claimed that she "Felt" something back near the cave. She had seen absolutely nothing concerning around apart from the creepy cave so had big problems with understanding what Kitty was talking about. As the woman stopped running Lily did the same and puffed while looking behind her. She assumed that the woman was just scared of the cave and wanted to get away so said there was something there. Lily decided to just let it pass and started to think about how long it would take for Kitty to learn how to become a tailor. After a few seconds Lily responded by shaking her head while looking up at the woman to see if she was alright. Lily looked back at the path and saw that it would only take about a minute or two to get back into the safe zone which was a good thing as Lily was already tired.

As soon as they made it back into the safe zone, Kitty headed for the shop, with glances, to see if Lily was following, she entered the shop. She was instantly greeted by the NPC that had agreed to train her. Kitty handed over the spider web, and the NPC smiled at her. Then he took her to the back, where his loom was. He looked at Kitty with a nod, as if she would know what she had to do. The loom was a dark brown oak color, with very pretty markings. There was a faded oak chair set right next to the loom. As Kitty sat down, she felt it was quite comfortable. Along with the loom, there was a sewing machine, and a sewing kit. Kitty smiled, as she looked back at the spider web in her hands. Her head whipped up suddenly, to see if Lily was still with her.

Lily followed Kitty around as a dog untill they entered the tailor's shop. The npc immediatly lead Kitty somewhere as she handed over the spider web so Lily decided to just stay in the main area and get some rest. She carefully crawled onto the counter and pushed away a pile of books so she could lay down. The tailor was nowhere to be seen so Lily wasn't that concerned that she'd be kicked out. Lily closed her eyes for a bit and waited patiently for Kitty to finish. She hoped that it wouldn't take too long so that she could go back to her shop as soon as possible. The counter wasn't the most comfortable thing to lay down on but it was atleast better than to lay down on the floor. She was getting quite comfortable on the counter when she suddenly kicked some sort of stone statue off of the counter and made it vanish. Lily carefully jumped off the counter and walked to the door, acting as if she was looking at the people outside so that she wouldn't be blamed for breaking the statue.
