An NPC with no name appears before you when you are adventuring. He challenges you to a friendly duel and promises magnificent rewards if you win. However, once you begin the duel, you realize that it is a duel to the death! His name appears and he is revealed to be the Gemini, and then he transforms into you. He has the same HP and skills as you. If you win the duel and kill the Gemini, you gain the skill of <<Concentration>> if you roll a 1-17 on your loot die at the end of the battle. This adds a +1 to the attack it is used for, but has a 5 turn cooldown period. If you roll and 18-20, you can the <<Disguise>> skill. It temporarily transforms you into the other player, giving you a +1 on your combat die and them a -1 on their next action. It only during your and his turn, and can only be used once every twelve turns.

Good luck Players!

Manta was walking around on the sixth floor, decked out in all of her equipment. She had her armor on, and her coat equipped over it. As well as her sword. She was planning on selling the armor and buying a perfect set, but that was something for a later time. The monsters in floors such as this one were extremely difficult, and her fights with them took a very long time. It was her fault for not upgrading her sword skills earlier, but she could still win the fights pretty easily, thanks to the regen on her gauntlets, evasion on her coat, and battle healing skill. Her swords damage didn't really matter as the majority of the monsters had a damage mitigation of much more than her damage. That was the reason her fights always took so long.

Stats w/ equipment:

EVA: 3 (Coat: +2, Acrobatics/Sprint: +1) - 3 to MOB roll

MIT: 6 (2 armor slots)

Regen: 3 (+3 Galaxy Gauntlets) 9 health on CD roll of 6+ (After an enemies attack)

Damage: 1 (Base)+ 3 (weapon slots)+1 (weapon skill)= 5

Manta was walking along one of the many paths on the sixth floor when she came across the NPC. He walked up to her and immediately suggested that they fight a friendly duel. "There are amazing rewards if you win." He stated. Manta had never been one to turn down a fight, especially one that was (supposedly) friendly. She unsheathed her sword and accepted the duel. It was then that the NPC's name appeared, and his form shimmered. Gemini... The name sounded familiar, but the only thing that came to mind when she thought it was 'two faced'. She looked back from the NPC's name to him and just stared. "Do I really look like that?" She asked out loud. The NPC had turned into a perfect replica of her, complete with her equipment.

Manta could tell that this was no friendly duel the second Gemini attacked. They leaped forwards, aiming their blade at Manta's chest. Manta sidestepped the blow and brought her sword around, slashing into the NPC's arm. She noticed that he appeared to have no damage mitigation, as his health dropped a lot. But she had Manta's equipment. Why didn't her damage get reduced? That was when it hit her. The equipment must just be for show. It probably didn't have the same enhancements as her real equipment.

This battle was surprisingly easy. Manta sidestepped another sword strike from Gemini and slashed upwards with her sword, catching them on the chin. They circled each other, both fully concentrated on the other, looking for openings. Manta watched Gemini, slightly unnerved by the sight of herself with red glowing lines and a depleted health bar. It was a bit disturbing, like being forced to kill a part of yourself.

Manta sliced her sword at Gemini again, cutting into their stomach and leaving a long, glowing red line there. Whoever had created this quest had a terrible sense of humor. Gemini counter attacked, their sword stabbing forwards towards Manta's stomach. Manta rolled to the side, easily dodging it thanks to the enhancements on her coat She was getting tired of this fight, and was starting to hope that maybe it was supposed to be a friendly fight. Maybe she just needed to get Gemini's health in the red/

Manta swung her sword at Gemini once again, and their blades clashed. Manta pushed against her opponent with all of her strength, but neither of them could make the other move. Neither of them was willing to disengage though, so they just stood there, legs braced against the ground and muscles straining as their blades pushed against each other, neither moving an inch. When they finally disengaged, both of them jumped back at the same time, almost as though they had been thinking the same thing at the same time.

They swung at the same time, and their swords clashed again. Manta disengaged and stabbed with her sword. Gemini dodged to the side, blocking at the same time with her sword. Gemini seemed to be improving after having warmed up a bit, and the fight seemed to be getting a bit harder. Manta hadn't been hit yet, but it was only a matter of time. Not that being hit would do much to her anyway, if what she had deduced before was correct.

Their blades clashed again, but this time Manta's had a bit more power behind it. She knocked Gemini's sword out of the way and drove the tip of her sword through the NPC's chest. She pulled her sword out and retreated as Gemini brought their sword back around to guard. It shouldn't be long now. The battle hadn't been decided yet though. The NPC still had a chance, even though Manta a held the clear advantage of her enhanced gear.

Gemini swung their blade, and Manta ducked underneath it, stabbing forwards with her blade in the same motion. Gemini sidestepped it and brought her blade around at Manta's head. Manta deflected it with her own blade and stood back up straight, adjusting her footing for better balance. They were both agility based, so the fight was fast paced, and full of excitement. Manta couldn't help grinning broadly. This was more fun than she had had in an extremely long time.

Gemini seemed to be mirroring her facial expressions, and was grinning just as broadly as Manta was. It was extremely disturbing, but not enough to keep Manta from continuing the fight. As she was about to attack, she noticed Gemini's health bar go up a little bit. It was just as Manta had originally thought. Gemini had her skills but not her equipment. For once it was good that she relied so heavily on her equipment. Manta charged in, ducking under her opponents blade. She got a single slice in before retreating back to safety.

Manta slashed at Gemini with her sword. Gemini leapt backwards, their foot catching on a rock. They stumbled, but didn't fall over, giving Manta a chance to slash another glowing red line into their shoulder. She didn't have time to do any more damage as Gemini had already recovered their balance. She swung her sword at Manta, and Manta leaned backwards, allowing the blade to pass over her as though they were doing some sort of weird limbo or something similar. Manta stood back up straight and blocked the next sword slash head on, pushing against it with all of her strength. Gemini followed suit, and they were soon stuck pushing on each others swords fruitlessly, neither wavering an inch.

They were in the same position as before. Manta continued to push as hard as she could against Gemini's sword. They were at an impasse for several moments before Manta noticed Gemini's health go up once again. This wasn't good. Even though Gemini was gaining to much health back, (thanks to how low Manta's battle healing skill was) it added up over time, and if they stayed like this for a long time it might even regenerate fully. Manta gave one last shove before sliding her sword out of the lock while jumping to the side. She rolled, keeping a hold on her sword and came back on her feet in time to block a downwards slash from Gemini.

Manta stepped to the side and allowed Gemini's sword to slide off of hers to the side. She leaped forwards, swinging her sword at Gemini's neck. Her strike hit home, but it wasn't enough to kill her. Gemini's blade came back around, and it was only thanks to Manta's coat that she was able to dodge it. Thanking Sousuke mentally, she dodged Gemini's next blow and moved closer in an attempt to land a finishing blow. Gemini was too careful though, and as Manta advanced, Gemini retreated.

Gemini continued to retreat, all around the nearby area. Finally, Manta just lunged, her blade outstretched. As expected, Gemini dodged it easily by rolling to the side. Manta didn't really want to kill Gemini, even if they were just an NPC. It was partially the fact that she didn't like killing in general, and partially the fact that she would be killing someone hat looked exactly like her. That got her thinking. Did it really count as killing if It was just a computer program? That probably depended on what that program could do. If it could simulate human feelings, it probably did count, at least in Manta's opinion.

Manta's blade flashed as she took multiple swings at Gemini. Each one was blocked though. Gemini counter attacked with her own flurry of blows, but Manta ducked, sidestepped, and blocked all of them. This fight had been going on for quite a while, but despite that Manta was still having fun, even though she didn't look forwards to killing her doppelganger. She hoped the 'great rewards' were worth it.

Manta decided to try something new. She adjust her grip on her sword and then swung at Gemini. Her sword clashed into Gemini's, and then swung a punch with her free hand. Gemini dodged it just like she had the last couple blows, and Manta retreated this time, dodging sword strikes. Manta dived to the side and rolled, coming up on her feet before sending a slash at the back of Gemini's neck. Gemini did their own roll forwards, dodging that as well.

They didn't seem to be making any headway in the battle, in fact, they seemed to be doomed to fight forever. Gemini's battle healing had just activated again, and those were adding up, meaning that Manta would need to hit Gemini at least twice to defeat them now. Gemini stabbed at Manta with her blade, and Manta sidestepped, sending a slash at Gemini's waist. Gemini stepped back out of the way though, avoiding any more damage.

Manta stabbed at her opponent with the tip of her sword. Gemini dodged to the side and Manta stepped in closer, swing her sword in a wide slash. Her sword made contact with Gemini's head, leaving a large glowing red gash across her forehead. Gemini counterattacked with e fast jab of her sword, but Manta sidestepped that as well. Gemini was on the last vestiges of health, if that battle healing ability didn't kick in again it should only take one more hit.

They continued their duel all around the surrounding area, blades clashing and sometimes not hitting anything at all as the two dodged. Still, neither one could seem to hit the other. Manta tried to use tricks like feints, but it was like Gemini could see right through them. All she needed was one more hit. She was willing to run herself on Gemini's blade to do it. If her calculations were correct, her armor would protect her so she would only take minimal damage.
