Coddexx 0 Posted November 21, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) Catching the gem midair I laughed. "That's quite pretty actually." I said as I added it to my inventory. Appreciating Opal's helpfulness and knowledge I replied "Thanks that makes quite a bit of sense. But I can see why that would take a long time to get together all of those materials and make it fall into place. The real reason why I ask how I can get my ability to have a high affinity for finding loot increased, is because I was reading a bit in the guidebook and realized that I could have a familiar in this world. I was wanting to do the quest 'Feeding the Enemy'. I read that in order to tame a beast and make it so that they are able to help you in battle as well as raise your stats, you have to be real lucky when trying to tame them."(need a LD of 19-20) While talking about needing to be lucky when finding loot and things of the kind, my foot ironically bumped a small rock and I stopped to examine it. " I guess sometimes you're luckier than others." upon looking at the rock I realized there was a smaller crystal like the one I just added to my inventory. I took it from its place in the cold rock and added it to my inventory. ID#39577 LD:19 +1 Material Edited November 21, 2015 by Coddexx
Opal 0 Posted November 21, 2015 #22 Share Posted November 21, 2015 (edited) "Ahh, Feeding the Enemy. I have yet to complete that one myself. If you intend on getting a rare familiar, I suggest to stock up on good edible items since you will need to use that to lure out the creatures. From what I heard, it can be quite the time consuming quest. But that makes sense, you are looking for a partner that will be with you until the end of your days here in this world. So naturally it would take a while. But those items I stated should help you out when you decide to take on such a quest." Opal had stopped by and looked around the area and then swept her hand across the ghostly menu in front of her. She placed a thumb in her mouth and bit down on her nail and read the map as she looked back around. "Alright, we'll need to start heading north-east a bit to locate Avalanche. Another mile and we should be able to spot him. Nice find!" Opal explained the situation and the minor change in direction to the path they were walking in. Keeping an eye out in the snow, Opal also kept vigilant on any other raw materials that could help Coddexx in the future. Her luck was not as great, pretty much a 50/50 chance on how things rolled out before her. ID: 39593 LD: 5 <<2/3 Energy Regen>> Edited November 21, 2015 by Opal
Coddexx 0 Posted November 22, 2015 Author #23 Share Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) As we began following our new course my heart began to beat a bit. I was starting to get excited for the battle that was to come. Sure I was going to stay back and watch but I still was eager to see Avalanche I heard he was at least four times the size of those ice golems we had encountered earlier. I looked up at Opal as a question came to mind. " How quickly can you regen your energy. I was curious since I'm starting to level up and will soon be able to use sword arts." Returning my attention back to the area around me I tried to find some more materials that I could use in the future. Not having any luck finding anything I continued walking beside Opal eagerly waiting for the battle that she will have soon with the Ice Elemental. Opal 0 Posted November 23, 2015 #24 Share Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) "Energy regen...well, while in combat you can regenerate one point, every round that you attack. When you are out of battle, it depends on how much SP you have I suppose. Small bars will fill up more quickly than others, but after about five minutes or so, you can expect a full pool of energy. It doesn't take that long. But if you don't like waiting, I believe chefs have the ability to make food items that restores your energy. So there is always the route to go." Opal had surmised the question at hand the best way she could put it. Even to her energy regeneration was a spooky idea. Sometimes she would use up all her energy in one go, turn around and it'll be back to full, it was just one of those odd timing things, but she figured five minutes give or take would be enough time to actually have a full bar ready to go once more. Flicking raven hair from off her shoulder, the woman had batted off fresh snow given from the heavens as she continued the search with Coddexx of any valuable materials. She was indeed doing this for him and not herself, so she was trying especially hard to find something worth giving him to add to his stack. Coddexx 0 Posted November 23, 2015 Author #25 Share Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) ID# 39833 LD:4 As we continued walking I started thinking more about what she was saying. "That is a bit spooky, but I can kinda get what you're saying. Yet spooky or not I've seen what you can do with that energy and it's quite amazing. The way your katana starts to glow." As we walked I started to hear a strange pounding noise as if the earth were being beaten. As we continued on I saw him. He stood tall in the distance. His arms resembled large icebergs and his skin, if you could call that skin, was a deep blue. He looked as if he was entirely made of ice. "I'd bet you anything that's Avalanche" as we closed the distance between us it was difficult to look somewhere other than the humanoid mountain walking on the horizon. Opal 0 Posted November 25, 2015 #26 Share Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) "Indeed it is. Stand back, Coddexx..." Opal's digits fixed over the hilt of her blade as she produced the behemoth of a weapon from its saya, the long curved katan came out of the sheath with a sharpness as she swept it side to side before holding it in both hands. At a distance, the woman bolted towards the Field Boss. <<Charging>> at it with high velocity, her booted feet kicked up a storm of snow from beneath her. The crystalline like figure reared it head towards her, shouting with an ominous and echoed voice. Its large hands tightened into fists as she stopped half way to it and slashed fiercely as her blade glowed a brilliant silver and ivory mixture. The damage had taken a nice chunk of HP from its coat, giving a soft orange gash over the side of its body. Smashing its hands into the snow ground, it summoned up a powerful unearthly growl as Opal prepared for the next attack against the ice elemental. <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 116/116 EN: 22/29 Sword Art: Zekkai, 7 Energy, 70 Dmg Avalanche: 30/100 Dmg: 24 ID: 40101 BD:9 +1= [+1 Dmg] MD: 8-4= Miss [Savvy Activated] Edited November 25, 2015 by Opal
Coddexx 0 Posted November 25, 2015 Author #27 Share Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) Following Opal's orders I stepped backward and found myself hidden behind a large rock. I peeked out from behind the cold stone just in time to see a cloud of snow erupt from Opal's feet. She and avalanche were enveloped in the the snow and the only sign of her was the beautiful glint of her sword as she used a sword art and began her dance with the gigantic ice elemental she faced. Taking advantage of the time I had I looked through the snow beneath me trying to find some materials. Having no luck, finding just a hard chunk of snow I turned my focus to Opal and Avalanche eager to see the end of the battle. Opal 0 Posted November 25, 2015 #28 Share Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) An ivory slash had rendered the Field Boss immobile as it stood for a moment confused from the lighting fast attack. Opal stood on guard before relaxing her pose and waving over to Coddexx, "He's all done for." As she turned back the crystalline figure had exploded into hundreds of digital pixels and obliterated into nothingness of the cold winds. Sweeping her blade to the left to clean the edge of any impurities, the woman flicked the blade upwards and back down into the ornate sheath. Collecting the small col bag and two materials gained from the Field Boss, a small congratulatory icon appeared before her. Since she had done this quest once or twice before, she only gained the SP. But it was Coddexx who gained the bulk of the mission rewards. "Congrats! You are now one step closer to getting as powerful as I am." Red lips curved into a smile as she dropped the two mats she had earned into his hand and then swept ebony strands from her face. "We better get going, that potion I gave you wont last much longer and you don't wanna be out here when this chill turns into a snowstorm." <<Battle Engaged>> Opals HP: 116/116 EN: 16/29 [+1 En Regen] Sword Art: Zekkai, 7 En, 56 Dmg Avalanche: dead/100 Dmg: 24 ID: 40179 BD: 6+3= Hit MD: 3-4= Miss LD: 20 [+2 Mats for Coddexx] +500 Col for Opal Edited November 25, 2015 by Opal
Coddexx 0 Posted November 26, 2015 Author #29 Share Posted November 26, 2015 As the field boss faded in the wind I was in awe. "She wasted him with two hits." I said to myself as I made my way down to Opal. I laughed, my eyes focusing on her smile. " Yeah one step closer. I still have a ways to go but this is a good boost, Thanks" I looked in my menu as a notification popped up. "I'm level five already. That is awesome I'll make sure these sp you got me will go to good use." I looked around and saw the snow start to pick up the storm Opal mentioned came to mind. " You're right we better head out I don't want to get lost out here. Map or not it'll be difficult to get out of here when I'm frozen solid." We made our way back to the telport pavilion and right before Opal ported off I stopped her. " Hey, Thanks again for today it was a great learning experience and I had a good time. I'd love to adventure with you again sometime." She smiled again and called out where she was going, the name lost to me due to the wind, and she dissipated in a flash of light as she left the pavilion. " A good day" I said to myself with a grin. " Better head out of here I guess." I walked onto the platform and called out "Town of Beginnings" Then the light engulfed me and I was on my way back to the Inn to call it a day. A successful day at that.
