[SP:F6-Complete] <<EaL:Mats>> Welcome to the Jungle

Recommended Posts

A new place, a new hunting expedition. Opal materialized in the city of Amazon, she had been here a few times but not enough to start clearing the map data. So in light of the new situation and the dire need for materials, she decided a new floor with new adventures would be the sort of thing she needed. Holding the ornate saya in her hand and shifting the weapon over her shoulder, she strolled out of the female driven establishment and made her way into a rather humid feeling forest.

Making her way through all the green, she wondered if there were any other new mob units to slice into, of course they were all the same in terms of stats, just throw a coat over it and it's 'new'. But she would not complain, whatever it was...she would kill. Amber eyes continued with her feet as she dug deeper into this humid jungle, bird chirps of all kinds rang out overhead in the canopy above her. "This is gonna be an interesting trip..."

Opal's luminous Masamune swept left and right after she had engaged a pack of lions. Of course this would be one of the appearing mobs on this floor, amongst no doubt tigers and bears. She chuckled to herself dismissing the thoughts and continued her slaughtering rampage over these no friendly kitties. The sword art <<Haku Senpu>> made effort to squeeze out their life source with the mixed <<Charge>> skill at her disposal, and dismissing them from this world with a single collected attack. Her journey to the jungle had already showed promise as she collected  four nice meaty sized stacks of Col and eight materials. Not too bad for her first run of the day. Sweeping the Masamune to the side to clean the impurities from the blade, it slowly returned to the ornate saya and she continued her journey into the dense jungle ahead.

Opal sought the dense jungle for its rich resources of materials. All kinds of plants and wildlife had grown here and were just ready to be plucked and nabbed. Digits searched the nearest tree to see if the bark had any sap or wooden shavings she could secure from it. Placing a warm hand on the trunk and looking around and at its base, she found nothing to be out of the ordinary and decided to move to the next area of the jungle. She had flicked her menu open with a graceful sweep of her hand to examine the map data of the floor. There was much to be discovered here and she would get all 100% if she could within the next week or two. It would be good practice and help level abilities as well. She was so close to mastering her katana, it only would take a handful of more points.

For it being such a vast and dense jungle, Opal was having terrible luck with finding materials here. As much as things appeared to be usable, she was not having much of anything with the searching of these items. Shrugging her shoulders, there was not much she could do lacking the items necessary to improve her overall searching status. However, complaining was something the old Opal would do, and she was no longer that woman. Flicking ebony hair from amber eyes, she continued her march through the intense humid jungle. It was clear she might have to take her caplette off should the steamy jungle cause her too much discomfort.

"Are you [censored] kidding me?" the woman questioned, dark eye brows had struck together as she scorned the ground with an amber glare as she picked up what appeared to be a dainty little flower, only to be so fragile as a whisper to where it pixelated out of her hand and into the winds. She said she wouldn't complain, but she did it anyways. She had better luck slaying an ocean of mobs for getting materials here than getting from the fruit of the land. Sighing heavily and getting off the dirty ground, the woman continued to pace herself going towards the west. She would go as far as she could through the jungle to scout the area out, then she would probably head north until the she met another edge. However, her Energy had recovered and it was time to slay something else next. Merely for the materials...she didn't enjoy combat at all. A thick red smile appeared, not one bit of it.

<<Charging>> once more, Opal's Masamune was unsheathed, glowing a brilliant display of ivory and silver as she triggered her most powerful sword art currently unlocked. The blade created a vacuum once more drawing in the opponents until they were decimated from the vorpal winds created by her blade. She had not much luck in the aftermath of the strike this time as last, only the four regular materials were dropped, but she got another nice loot drop for the col which made this expedition all the more sweet in her eyes. Picking up those said bags of col and materials, the woman whipped her blade to one side and started off once more to recover her energy and hopefully find some extra materials during her unmapping procedure.

"A great find!" Opal declared, retrieving an odd shaped fungus from the tree. This time, she would not be devouring the said material. The last time she had done that, it put her in such a horny mood she had spent the next few days in the bedroom...alone. Her face flushed from her own perverted thought as she whipped her hair back and forth and smacked her face lightly, "Yeah...learned my lesson on that." Scratching the back of her head, Opal continued down a path which...didn't seem like a path through the jungle. She would just keep walking along without a care to the world keeping an eye out for valuable materials and any mobs that needed to be slain. That is for when the energy pool has been replenished.

A lucky streak had continued now that she was two for two in her findings. A small stream with peaceful waters slowly moved through the rocks and cracks of the earth as Opal used an empty vial to fill with the clear liquid. The sparkling form in the vial shimmered as she placed it in her inventory, and also took several sips of the water itself by scooping a handful and splashing it into her mouth. The humidity of this place was bombarding here all around, despite the survival skill she had acquired, her body was not used to this sticky wet heat around her. Getting up and dusting hands free of any dirt, she decided to walk along the edge of the stream and continue the path west and then north as she had planned out.

"Can she go three for three?...Oooh...no..." A disappointed sigh escaped her, audible displeasure for not being able to find anything under a rock, because why not? Dropping the weighty instrument back to the earth, Opal cleaned her hands off in the stream nearby and waved her hands in the air for them to dry. But that would take forever due to this humid environment. She didn't even realize she was sweating until the bead of perspiration ran down a slick cheek. Rubbing the side of her face, she noticed her energy bar was once more full and she could go back doing what she did best...or mediocrely best at doing? "[censored] it, I am a badass in my own right." she said to herself, a little ego boost was needed to get her head out of modesty. Too much of that and she would really think she was a worthless bitch.

Opal had come up on a part of land that seemed a bit fishy, taking a look at the trees with amber eyes she noticed wasp nests all over the place. "Ugh...this doesn't bode well for me..." she had complained drawing her Masamune from the sheath and standing still to see if anything would come out of those nests. Her amber eyes traveled from one another until they shot forth several swarms of the tiny insects. "Holy [censored]...!" Opal's blade frantically swung left and right cutting through droves of wasps with her blade. They looked a like a mssive black cloud hovering over the surface of the ground as they charged at her once more. Sweeping her blade to the left and right, she wondered how she hadn't been stung yet.

To keep from the swarm of wasps attempting to pickle her body with stings, Opal released her strongest sword art at them attempting to drive them into her with force gale winds to clip their wings and bodies into nothing. The vacuum of power had caused the buzzing of the wings to amplify around her, but the torrential of power that was summoned by her blade kept her safe like a cocoon. Sweeping her blade to the right, the Swarm of buzzing insects had stopped and in a small grouping at her feet laid the poison stingers of their bodies as collectable materials. It wasn't a difficult fight, but it was one she should have taken care of immediately. Besides, bugs were gross. She hoped nothing more like that would come looking for her.

Opal stretched her arms out over her head as she shook raven hair with a wild yawn that escaped ruby red lips. Eyes of amber over the horizon as she knelt down and stole from the earth a carefully crafted flower that looked brilliant in both color and form. Plucked from the earth, she knew it was a special specimen and placed it in her inventory. Taking a careful look around her surroundings, Opal continued on as she kept a vigilant eye and ear for any more of those crazy wasps. She did not want to fall into another trap like the one she had fallen into earlier where they seemed to appear out of nowhere.

"Good turn of luck..." Opal said smoothing out what appeared to be a neat lavender colored flower. It smelled the same as her old cigarettes and it reminded her of those earlier days back when. Smiling with curved red lips she helped the item into her inventory and took a moment to get her bearings. She had been walking through dense jungle all day and the humid weather despite being something of a sticky situation, was starting to get comfortable moving through it. Every so often she would fan herself with a flat hand but it was nothing too cumbersome. Though there would be a time when she needed to exit the jungle and look for some shelter or an Inn to rest her weary mind. And not knowing where she was or where she was going caused an issue to stir. She liked to know these details but mapping out a floor was difficult all the same and a necessity.

"And bad turn of luck..." Opal said identifying to what she held in her hand was as questionable as a dirty rock. Tossing it over her right shoulder and dusting her hands off from the dirt, the raven haired woman continued her path through the jungle brushing away fallen tree limbs and stepping over hazardous rocks as she carefully ventured through the terrain. She was not looking for anything particular, just killing some time and to hopefully get this jungle mapped out within the next week or two. Nothing was going to stop her from doing this, well unless she was called upon for aid by others. However, Opal was as if a ghost these days, she knew she was getting stronger and stronger each passing day, yet there was belief that she was still as weak as the day she started her training.

Amidst thoughts of her own power, distraction had reared itself towards her and Opal had felt the ground shake. There was no earthquakes as far as she knew in this game, but nothing stopped her from believing it was as such. Amber eyes scanned the ground as she found the jungle to almost come alive and breathing. Shooting from the depth of the foliage were four massive snake heads. Cursing under her breath, Opal shifted her body to take a defensive stance but her body was stricken with a blow. She felt the enormous weight of the body slam against her knocking her several feet back into a nearby tree. Then they had appeared in full sight. Each massive head moved towards one after another, gaining speed to quickly devour her. "Ugh! Everything in this jungle wants to eat me today!" Springing to the left, Opal sought ground with one hand and spiraled away with a robust twist flipping her body upwards and shooting off a nearby tree as the third and fourth large snakes missed their intended target.

Now that Opal was aware of what she was facing, she was able to plan accordingly. Snakes were fast and she felt a bit bad having to kill these wonderful creatures. She adored snakes of all kinds, but when they were trying to eat her, she had to let some of that love for them to go. Sweeping the Masamune side to side, it pulsated with a familiar glow of ivory and silver. Amber eyes set on her targets as they seemingly lined up for her attack. Quickly slashes continued thrice and sliced, carving orange into their bodies displaying the damage had been done as the art quickly wore off. Showing no pain or hesitation after her attack, the massive Anacondas charged for her and attempt to deal lethal blows. Swift feet hit the ground while she engaged <<Acrobatic>> maneuvers to help evade these attacks. Smooth and fluid movements were used as she twisted and weaved through the aid of trees as she dismantled their collective attack.

In a shower of silver and ivory, Opal swept her blade crossing over the thick reptilian hide of the Anaconda's as their heads left their thick trunk like bodies and fell to the ground in chunks. Sweeping her blade to the right, she shook of the taint from her Katana and cleansed the blade before placing it back in her saya. Amber eyes followed her legs as she recovered the materials and the nice loot sacks of col that were dropped by the opponents. Hefting all the items and depositing them into her inventory, Opal took note of the time and sighed rubbing her forehead. She perhaps had another hour before night would settle on the floor and she didn't want to be caught off guard in the dark in an unknown jungle.

Backtracking through the jungle, Opal followed the map data she had cleared up to this point and decided best to go back and head to an Inn. She did not want to be out in this jungle by herself at night, no matter how strong she felt herself to be. As lonesome as she was, she found that her solitude was making her a hardened warrior. Through everything that had come to pass, she seemed to excel in something she never thought was possible; independence. It was a long sought after dream to be able to carry her own weight and become less of a burden on everyone else. It was a shame though she only basked in the limelight alone.

Taking a glance around her surroundings, Opal had noticed plenty of vegetation in the jungle, but nothing that would offer a base for her alchemy projects. Giving up on the search in this area, she continued to follow her bread crumbs out of the jungle.

No such luck found when looking for materials in this part of the jungle either. Opal was nearly out of the confines of the sticky dense area as the humidity was slowing starting to dissipate the closer she got to exiting the jungle. Amber eyes feasted on a clearing but instead of leaving it out right, she decided to walk along the edge of the entrance and go wet from there mapping out the edge of the jungle. There was still enough light outside left to make a half mile walk down this pathway and perhaps she would get lucky enough to find another material along the way. Accessing her menu, Opal had relinquished her saya as it collapsed into her inventory and into her quick slot just in case anything wanted to leap out at her. It would not be the first, and certainly would not be the last to be pushed into that sort of confrontation.

"Ahh, just my luck I would find something at the very end of my trip. Can't complain, a material is a material." Find one that seemed well suited for her creations or another was all that was needed. Glancing back at the jungle, she had covered a good 10% of the layout without too much difficulty. Now was the time to head back to an inn and get some rest before making another trek out here in the morrow. Yawning to herself, the Soldier of the Blood Oath made small detours only to clear out some of the hidden boxes in the map data without inconveniencing herself of doing so. Taking a turn into the village, she was once more in the safety of the safe zone.
