(SP-F13) Weapons Test COMPLETE

Recommended Posts

(OOC: Normal Mobs: 52 HP, 39 DMG, 13 Mit)

Manta walked out of Angel's point and into the dangerous fields around it. Her new weapon was even more powerful than her last one, putting its quality above perfect, at least in her estimations. She felt bad for putting her old sword up, even if she had stored it in her 'at the ready' inventory. It wasn't that she liked the weapon particularly, it was that the rapier, Loves Oath, was supposed to represent her love and faithfulness to Sousuke. If only there was a way she could have and use both weapons. Well, there was a way, but that would mean challenging Zelrius to a duel, if he'd even accept, and then beating him in a duel. Disregarding stats and the OPness of Zelrius unique skill, he was her commandant, and more than that, her friend. He had worked hard for that skill, and she didn't even want to try to take that away from him.

Manta sighed and unsheathed her Darkened Blade. She wasn't here to get sentimental, although that was bound to happen no matter what she did. Ebony had asked her for a favor, and it was certainly a big one. She quickly unequipped her Koumori Hitter and replaced it with the Golden Tusk item Ebony had given her to help. Yes, this was a col mission, and yes the amount Ebony needed was absurd. Forty-five thousand was a ton of money. Manta's own savings amounted to around thirty five thousand, most of that being from a recent transaction with Ssendom. She knew she could do this though. She fought mobs before and gotten upwards of a thousand col. That was only forty lower level field bosses.

While she was out in the field she could gather up some materials as well. Hopefully. She'd heard that materials on this floor were extremely hard to find, which probably explained why she didn't even see anything that looked like it might be a material. That looked to be a fruitless venture, so she decided not to continue looking. She could get materials and col from the mobs she killed.

After a couple of minutes of walking, Manta came upon her first mob. It was a human with blacked skin, tattered armor, and black mist coming out of it's mouth. It was quite frankly an extremely disturbing sight. She pointed her rapier at the mob and activated Crucifixion, her blade glowing red as she charged forwards, creating a cross symbol on the mobs chest with six stabs. She backed up and the mob burst into crystals moments later, only granting her a single mat. It had been a pretty easy fight though.

Manta moved further on into the field, hoping to come across another mob that would get her some better loot. She stumbled upon another, stronger looking corrupted human. She still couldn't help but cringe at the sight on the blacked skin and black mist pouring from it's mouth. If this was real life she would be running in the opposite direction. She activated Over Radiation, and charged forwards, her blade glowing white as she twirled and stabbed incredibly fast. With her final stab the mob burst into crystals, granting her 1040 col. Things seemed to be looking up.

Manta continued on, further into the field. She had a bit of energy to spare, and she felt like she could take out one or two more mobs before having to wait for her energy to restore itself. There was a corrupt human just standing there a ways away, so she made her way in that direction, sprinting forwards and activating Shooting Star, taking the mob down in one blow. Once again she only received a single mat. That wasn't too much of a problem though. She did need mats for her shop after all.

Manta sat down on the cold hard ground as she waited for her energy to restore itself. It was a long boring process that consisted of her sitting/standing around for a while. She knew that there were items that would restore energy, but she didn't want to buy any as that would be counterproductive. She needed her energy to make col, and if she used that money in order to get more energy at the end of the day she wouldn't have made any col whatsoever.

She took the time to think about her build. It had been suggested to her that she should get some mitigation, but she had completely ignored that advice and was continuing to bring up her damage as much as possible. Hopefully she would be able to get someone to tank for her if she ever needed it. She was focusing on <<Charge>> at the moment, but she needed to make sure that that was the best skill to be ranking up. She swiped open her HUD and went to look over her skill tree.

Manta scrolled through the skills available. She couldn't see a single one that brought up damage that she didn't already have, not a single one except for charge. Well that settled that. She swiped her HUD away and stood up, her energy meter now back to full. She unsheathed her Darkened Blade and prepared to confront some more enemies. Hopefully she would get more col this time.

Manta sprinted further into the field, her rapier in her hand and her long white hair flowing behind her. She made an impressive sight. It become dramatically less impressive when, moments later, a corrupted human spawned right next to her and slammed his crossbow into her shoulder before she could stop. A good portion of her health bar drained, not puttingher in the yellow zone, but very close to it. She took a swin with her rapier at the mobs head, but the corrupted human dodged it by stepping to the side, his mouth open and black mist drifting to the ground as he moved around.

These things could certainly pack a punch. Manta knew that she needed to finish this fight quickly, or risk death. She doubted that she would die from this mob, but there was always a chance. The corrupted human stumbled forwards and swung his crossbow at her. The mob wasn't accurate at all, and she was able to easily dodge the blow. She didn't return one of her own though, preferring to let her energy restore itself.

Manta knew that she had to end this before it went any further. She activated <<Over Radiation>> and charged in, stabbing and twirling, hitting the mob a total of thirteen times. Immediately after the last stab hit home, the corrupted human burst into blue and green pixels. This one had given her around eight hundred col, less than the last, but still a good amount. At this rate it would take forever for her to get the necessary amount of col, but she didn't care. She wasn't leaving without at least half of her goal.

Manta flicked her sword to the side, preparing to continue forwards. She saw another mob in the distance, so she continued on to it, activating Over Radiation again and dispatching the creature with that single sword skill. Still no more col. At this rate she wasn't going to get the amount she needed. Maybe her goal was a big to large for this trip alone.

Manta moved away from where the mob had been, sitting down. Once again her energy needed to recharge, and she still hadn't achieved much. She would just have to tell Ebony that she hadn't gotten much. It wasn't like she owed Ebony a favor or anything, and she was already helping her friend out. She would wait for her energy to restore itself and try one more time before she went in.

The truth was, Manta needed her own unique skill to get ahead on the front lines, and to complete her own goals. She would help Ebony out with hers afterwards. She sighed and leaned back against a rock. She really hated waiting for energy to restore itself. She understood the game mechanic, but that didn't keep it from getting on her nerves. She pulled her rapier out and inspected it in the dim light.

She couldn't believe how easy it had been to acquire. It had all been thanks to her guild and the over powered members it had. Zelrius and Ssendom had literally sliced through mobs that would have been difficult to fight one on one for any normal player. That was what had convinced her. If she wanted to move forwards in this game, she needed to get a unique skill. She knew how DPS worked. You put skill points into sword skills and then into charge, and when that was done what else was there to invest in?

She stood up. It seemed as though her energy had regenerated a lot faster than normal that time. She had already unsheathed her dagger, so she started to walk, looking for more mobs to take out. She saw another corrupt human in the distance, so she jogged over to it, activating Over Radiation before it even noticed her. She charged in, her blade glowing red before unleashing her thirteen hit combo and causing the mob to burst into pixels.

Manta looked over the loot she had received from that last mob. One single material. Again. This was getting tiring. Maybe it was time to call it a day and head in. She sheathed her rapier and started to walk back to Angel Point, the main settlement on the thirteenth floor. There might be more, but Manta couldn't remember there being any other settlements besides that one.

She trudged along towards the settlement, her mind on where an how she should start grinding. Getting a unique wasn't something that happened easily. It wasn't just about luck but about skill as well, and she knew she didn't have enough of that. She wanted to at least rank up some more of her skills before she went chasing after rumors. SOme of them could be traps.

She finally got to the city, remembering that she had potions to create for the upcoming boss battle. Apparently they were supposed to create a safeguard potion for every member of the clearing party. That was more than a few players. It was a good thing she already had two made. She didn't get perfect items all that often, but hopefully the statue Ebony had given her as a present would help out.
