History:
Leif was born somewhere in the U.K. His parents died of illness when he was 13, and he moved in with his uncle and cousin in America. Ever since his parents died, he hated seeing others ill or down in the dumps, for this would remind him of how helpless his parents looked during the worst of the disease. As his years in America dragged on, he found pleasure by helping others, and paying them back for nice things they did for him, although this occasionally got him taken advantage of. One thing in particular that he received(which he intended to return the favor), was Nervegear. When he logged on to SAO, however, he found himself unable to repay the person who gave him the Nervegear, and was deeply disappointed. Now, he dedicates himself to helping and protecting others, believing that assisting others in this death game would be a close enough way to return the favor.

Virtues:

Kindhearted: He loves to help others, and will not stop helping someone until he has “Returned the favor”. He cares deeply about the welfare of others, and is a valuable ally to those he protects. Despite all of this, he actually doesn’t care if he is taken advantage of.

Determined: When he starts something, he will do as much as possible, in every way, to accomplish his goal. He won’t let an enemy move him or his goal without fighting it first, be it a simple boar, a boss entity, or even a PKer. Although he occasionally ends up in a not so good situation, he prefers to make the best of it.

Positive Thinker: Whenever things get tough, he gets going anyway. He will always look for a way to turn a bad situation into a good one, no matter how grim the situation seems. He doesn’t care if he is being taken advantage of, or even if his luck is ridiculously poor, he keeps at it with a smile…most of the time.

Flaws:

Reckless: Although he can see how dangerous a situation can be, he sometimes underestimates the enemy or overestimates himself. He strikes the enemy without worry or caution, and is more likely to take on a pack of monsters alone, should the situation arise. Sure, he knows about the not so brave tactic of fleeing, but he waits till the last second for that. Usually.

Emotional: He tends to react strongly, and often. He wears his heart on his sleeve, but that can lead to breaking down often, and he doesn’t care if he happens to make a scene. Whenever he is alone at night, you can find him crying over his parents, people he failed to save, and even his unpaid debts.

Overly Modest: He tends to say “It was nothing, really!”, even if the favor almost got him killed. He prefers to follow, and never lead, no matter what, allowing others to take advantage of him. He occasionally, through his actions, states that his way of life is literally “Live to serve.”
