They lived on a small plot of land where they were able to farm chickens and reside on. She attended school about ten miles away at a decent public school named Westin High School. She had no troubles making friends and was rather popular. However, while her life at school seemed a dream, her home life was not easy. Her mother, Cassandra Indie, was a kind and beautiful woman. However, she struggled to make a life for her and her child. Being a single mother, she was forced to raise Penelope and work a job to support them. While Penelope helped around the house and farm, there was still to much weight for her mother to be lifting. They were poor, hardly getting by. Once she had asked about where her Dad was, and why he wasn't helping at all and her mother looked at her plainly and said, "I don't want his help. I don't need him". Cassandra never liked to talk about her Dad, especially when it came to the topic of money. When she had managed to get any information on him, her mother explained to her that her dad was a wonderful man. His only problem was that he was far to passionate for his own money and that he he liked everything to work how he wanted it to. Penelope was gifted the nerve gear by her friend, Terra Bliss. Terra had been her best friend for a while, both of them being through much. Terra had been there for her through her dog's death, her first break up, and many more ups and downs. Terra's family was wealthier, and managed to purchase one the American copies of Sword Art Online, the newest form of technology. While Penelope had never been one to play video games, she knew that her friend enjoyed them and promised to play along. They logged in to Sword Art Online at the very same time. <<Personality>> For the most part, Penelo is kind and sweet both in game out out of it. She normally wears a smile and tends to see the good in those even if it is hard to find. She prefers not to have to fight, letting others do it for her. She will however, if necessary. When she walks, she will do so gracefully, many of the time walking on her toes. She has always aspired to be a dancer, but doesn't get to practice much. Virtues Caring: Penelo has always thought of the needs of others, sometimes even before herself. When it comes to friends, she is always the first one to lend out a helping hand if needed. Her mother has always taught her to be kind and respectful to all that she meets, even if she doesn't like. The limits to her kindness are only breached if someone attacks someone she holds close. Loyal: When Penelo befriends someone, she trusts them completely. Even if they are going through a rough patch, she will stick by their side through it all. As long as they have her trust, she will stick with them. She has been taught to help others, because someday you will be the one in need. She is no longer loyal to someone if they betray her trust or make an action that seems wrong. Sense of Justice: Penelo has always made sure that she and everyone else around her was ethical, honest, and fair. To her, there is nothing worse than someone who exploits someone else. There is always someone that has had it harder, and it is unfair to make it even harder. When she deems someone's action unjust, she will either confront the person about it and demand to fix it or just leave the person. Independant: After living with her mother who was always at work, Penelo has learned how to live and unction completely by herself. She understands someone won't always be there for her and that she needs to be able to function on her own. Whether it be making a decision or doing an activity, she is able to do it alone without requiring the help of another. Independence has a limit though, especially in the world of Aincrad where stats matter. VICES Pacifist: She has never been one for fighting and in the real world tried to prevent many fights. In the game, she would prefer to play supportive instead of using her weapon. She believes that any fight could be won with words instead of combat, but understands that in some PvE cases this doesn't work.This keeps her skill with her weapon low, and her aptitude to fight even lower. Gullible: While Penelo is no fool, she is easily able to be tricked into someone else's scheme, especially if she is good friends with them. Leading her into traps or tricking her into doing something would be all too easy for someone else. When it comes to people, her loyalty is a double-edged sword. Star-Crossed: While it isn't as bad as before, Penelo is easily able to fall in love. While she can be easily attracted to any guy, anyone she dates she falls in love with, hoping that they will be the one to be with her forever. This has proven twice before to break her heart, she only learns a little each time. To the person she loves, she is the most loyal, but also able to be manipulated easier.
