It wasn't even a question as to what it was he was going to become. A Blacksmith, no question about it. Koga had sent Noctua a message to meet him at the town's entrance, and now he was just standing here, leaning against the wall of a building, waiting for her arrival. She'd come soon enough. And hey, after they finished this up, they could open up their shop together! Now that Koga thought about it, that was a bit of a big commitment, huh? And if he was going to be completely honest, they didn't really know each other that well. Even so, they'd become fast friends. Koga liked her, that was for sure. And she had agreed, so she must like him on some level as well, right? Koga closed his eyes and let his head hang back as he thought. Well, it was said and done now. She promised to help Koga get his profession done, and that was exactly what she was going to do. Only this time, she gets to laugh at him while he does the initial fetch quest. Of course, the laughing wasn't going to happen anyways, she liked him too much to be mean to him. Wait... Nope, she didn't know what she meant by like when she thought about it, so she just continued on. Okay, maybe she did, but she wasn't going to admit it because, let's face it, they haven't known each other long, and well, who knows if he even feels the same. Yep, not saying a word on that one, ever. Soon enough though, she was walking up to Koga and smiled. " Well, well. Let's go get your fetch quest done shall we?" She stopped beside him and waited. She was sure at this point, he was going to know the better places, and he needed to invite her to the party. At least, as long as he already grabbed the quest. That was probably the only reason they weren't in a party currently, she wasn't about to lose her profession to blacksmithing. Let's go get your fetch quest done shall we?" Koga hadn't heard Noct approach him. With his eyes still closed and head leaning back a little, a smile crept across his lips when he heard her voice. "Say that infernal name one more time, I swear," he said light-heartedly as he opened his eyes and looked at Noctua. "You ready to get going?" Koga asked as he pushed himself up off the wall and prepared to set out, "I wanna just get these materials, and get to smithing," he said as he gestured with his hand and sent the party invitation. Once Noctua accepted, Koga started walking out of the town and away from the safe zone. At this point, the pair had a method for these kinds of things. Find mob, kill said mob, collect loot and mats. Profit? Yeah, something like that. "Excited to try out our new gear?" Koga asked as the pair walked through the plains searching for the materials he needed. She hated the term just as much as he did, but to her, that was just priceless. "What are you going to do if I say it again hmm...?" She smiled as she nodded, and soon enough, the party invite was sent her way. "Let's go and fetch your materials shall we." Okay, now, she might be pushing it, but it was all in light humor, or at least, she was hoping so. There was still a smile on her face and her voice seemed to be lighter and happier than when they first met. So yeah, she felt like she was in a happy and light humored mood. Here's just hoping Koga was too, it seemed like he was at least. They were off, and he had a valid point, on her hip was her new rapier, the beautiful silver one with the owl wings for a hilt guard. She loved it, the design was so her. "I'm excited to see how quickly things die now. Perhaps we won't have to stress so much today." In reality, it should be easier right? These new weapons of theirs were amazingly made, and it was all because of that event that happened. Sure, she wasn't sure about going then, but now, she was glad that she had. Besides, with the few close calls that they had before, some old fashioned revenge would be nice anyways. "So, what is going to be the first thing that you attempt to create?" She was curious and at this point, she didn't have to worry about her curiosity with Koga. She's asked so many dumb questions already, that this one was probably just an oddity. "Well, I mean, if you look at their stats, we can proc about twenty six plus damage if before they attack, as long as we land first blow. I reckon we'll kill things pretty damn quick." And then there was that tell-tale rustling sound of mobs coming for them. But where Koga expected boars, a pack of three wolves stepped out. One in particular looked particularly vicious, with an ugly scar that stretched across its back and side. Well alrighty then. "Like I said. First blow." Kuiaratame glowed in its saya as Koga drew the weapon and prepared his Han'ei and began to circle the wolves. When it looked like he had the opening he was looking for he tried charging in. But one of the other wolves was smart, and nipped at the man, putting him off balance. koga staggered backwards, and tripped over his own feet, landing right on his ass. My oh my, wasn't someone being mysterious now? But there was still the smile on his face, so she knew that he took her words as the joke that they were meant to be. But what she didn't expect, was for his explanation of their new weapons and the stats on them to be interrupted. Okay, no thats a lie, she was expecting for things to come and attack sooner or later, but not this soon, and not in a pack of three. There seemed to be an Apha and two subordinates with it. Great... And already, it wasn't going to plan. Koga landed on his ass after one of the wolves tried to nip at him. She took her rapier from her hip and she stared at one of the subordinate wolves. She would start off small and pray that this wasn't going to go bad. But, as she charged her sword art, the wolf came lunging at her. She released Rip Ravine too early, causing it to miss, but she was still able to side step away from the wolf trying to attack her. Narrowly. But Koga, well, he had two attacks coming from not only the Alpha, but the other wolf as well. The Alpha went right for Koga's throat, but Koga raised his arm in defense, and the Alpha's teeth sank onto his arm while the other wolf bit at his leg. "Get off me!" Koga shouted as he shook and kicked the two wolves off of him. While the two canines sailed through the air, an opening had been created to attack the third, and Koga took it, dashing forward again, his blade glowing bright crimson with yet another Han'ei. He wasn't going to miss this time. With a cry, Koga delivered two swift blows to the wolf, its health falling well into the yellow, almost red. She watched though as status effects were put onto the wolf and she ignored that one. She knew that it wasn't going to last long. In fact, that was proven when it attempted to go to attack her, it just burst into red fragments the moment that the damage over times kicked in. Good, one down, two to go. She set her sights on the second smaller wolf that was still alive and well. But again, her rapier missed her mark, and the alpha decided to take revenge for her trying to hit this wolf. The alpha charged at her and when it's teeth drove into her arm, she winced. "Damn it, ow, get off!" She suddenly felt like she was yelling at a very untrained dog. But the wolf did it's damage, taking her health down and she stared at it. Now, she was started to get agitated yet again. Alright, one down, two to go. The Alpha took its turn against Noctua as the smaller wolf attacked Koga, looking for vengeance for it's fallen compatriot. The canine lunged at Koga sinking it's teeth into his arm as Koga's HP bar drained even further. It was almost into the yellow. The man, fueled by pure spite at this point, threw the canine off and onto the ground. "Screw you asshole!" he shouted as he brought his katana crashing down in a furious strike on the Wold's head, the burn and blight symbols appearing next to it's name as well. He was done. "Just one more, Noct!" Koga shouted to his partner, as he turned towards her, only then noting that her health bar was almost as low as his. Thank god for those status effects. But there was still the problem of the alpha wolf, who seemed to be having a staring contest with Noctua at the moment. "Just one more, Noct!" He was right, there was only the one left. But this one had more health and seemed to just not want to die. But then again, neither did Noct. She charged her basic attack for a moment, but just as she went to attack the alpha, he went to attack her, but his missed wide because of her being able to dodge it. The Alpha lunged at Noctua as she charged up her strike. It looked like the Alpha was gonna land it's attack, and Koga's eyes grew wide for a moment. In a display of grace, Noctua adjusted to dodge around the mob, and although she missed her strike, she was safe. That was good with Koga. It put the wolf right where he wanted it. As the wolf's feet touched the ground, Koga was right on top of it, too late for the wolf to try and doge him. His katana cut a wide swath through it's hide, matching the scar it bore on the other side of its body. Good, now it would focus him and leave Noctua free to deal some damage. He had more health than her anyways. This was a silent blessing and curse. Blessing, because he had more health than her, but curse because he has already been getting his ass kicked by the other two wolves. This needed to end and soon. But still armed with just a basic attack, she could really do nothing. So, as she went to charge for her basic, she moved to hit the wolf, only to narrowly miss it by it lunging at Koga for it's own attack. Damn, damn, damn, damn! She was going to have to recharge her energy to possibly be of any use at this point. Taking a look at Koga's health, she had only one course of action really. "Koga, can you keep him busy? I want to recharge." If he said no, then she would attack, if he said yes, then she was going to wait until her energy was full. Her strike went wide, and the Alpha tackled Koga to the ground. "Koga, can you keep him busy? I want to recharge." 'Great timing,' Koga thought to himself as he pushed back on the Alpha's throat, trying to keep it from biting into his own neck, "Yup, take your time! Don't worry about me, I got this handled!" Koga struck the wolf on the forward with the pommel of his katana. Although it dealt no damage, it surprised the Alpha long enough for Koga to throw it off and get back onto his feet. The wolf was already lunging at him again, and Koga barely stepped out of the way. Koga glanced up at his health bar. Yellow. It would go red pretty soon. If he took another hit, he'd have to heal up. Hopefully it wouldn't come to that. She knew that it was cursed, but she didn't think that it was going to make her miss every darned hit. Keeping her head grounded and eve, she watched as Koga held the wolf off. She was grateful that he was still alive, but she feared what another hit might do to him. His health was already low enough, but then, so was her own health. This was just something that was going really horrible really fast. It was aggravating and annoying. "How's it comin' Noct?!" He yelled this to her right as the alpha went into for another attack, only this one managed to hit him. No, no, no, no.... She shook her head and started to watch her energy closely. "Almost there. His concentration had been broken for a split second, and even though he saw the attack coming, he couldn't dodge far enough away. The Wolf's claws dug deep into Koga's chest as he flew past, and the health bar drained from yellow to red. 'Damn it!' He shouldn't have let his guard down! Adrenaline coursed through the man's system as his fight or flight instincts went into overdrive. There was no way in hell Koga was gonna keep dueling this thing with this little health...but he wasn't going to run away either. He wasn't going to abandon Noctua "It's now or never Noctua!" Koga yelled as he reached for a healing potion, and drank it. The HP bar began to regenerate to full health. Well, at least he wasn't going to die today. Panic coursed through her system as she watched his health go from yellow to red. The panic that was in her system made her lose her concentration for a moment, at least until she heard Koga. "It's now or never Noctua!" Right, now or never. Let's do this. She started to charge her Ripe Ravine and just as she used the attack, the Alpha must have sensed her movement, because it moved out of the way right in time. Wait, that meant, that she missed once more. But the worse news, the alpha wolf didn't seem to miss a beat as it went right for Koga once more. So, here was Koga, literally getting his ass kicked by wolves, and she was getting her ass kicked by whatever curse had been placed upon her. Thankfully though, Koga had used a health potion. This was it. A low growl came from the Wolf's throat. The blade zipped past the wold as it moved away. What the hell?! How was this Wolf dodging every attack? Worse yet, the Wolf was coming right for Koga. And he had nowhere to go. The Wolf was already upon him by the time he realized it was attacking. It dug its claws into his chest again, and Koga tumbled backwards through the dirt. He was really glad he took that healing potion now. Koga managed to roll back on his feet and his blade began to grow crimson again, his Han'ei ready to be unleashed. He charged forward and his blade flashed. But it struck nothing! Koga couldn't understand how this single Wolf seemed to dodge every single one of their attacks. This was getting ridiculous! Of course, it acted like she wasn't even here, and with how she has been doing, she basically wasn't here. She hasn't landed single hit, and well, that was starting to actually get to her. What good was she going to be if she couldn't even hit something? No, she wasn't going to believe that she was actually useless. No, she was useful, she just needed to try harder. They got through her own profession quest. She killed all the things then. She could hit something now too damn it! So, with her gaze fully fixated on the wolf, she charged her basic attack and went for it. There was a fire like gleam in her eye at the moment, the kind of look that said that she was getting fed up and tired of this wolf dodging every little thing. There was no way that he was going to dodge this one, for the moment he moved off of Koga, her rapier stabbed right into it's shoulder. She didn't do a lot of damage, which was reasonable seeing her level and his health, but she succeeded in showing that the wolf could be harmed, even if little by little. But the wolf didn't like this stab, even though it probably felt like a pin prick to him. But the alpha turned and went to lunge at Noct. It's movements were still slowed a bit though from her hitting him, which allowed her the time to dodge out of the way of it's attack. A wave of determination washed over her as she darted forward, and he blade pierced the dense muscle of the Wolf's shoulder. It only chipped off damage, but that distraction was all that Koga needed. This was it, one good strike and it was over. No second chances this time. The Wolf turned away from Koga, and the man steadied himself. His foot shifted backwards. He raised his sword and the blade glowed a fiery crimson. The crunch of his boots on the ground as he ran forwards, his blade sung as it cut through the air and carved a vicious swathe through the Wolf. It's health dipped into the yellow, but the Burn and Blight icons appeared next to its health bar. It was going to die now. Finally. The man sheathed his weapon, a quiet rasp of leather of steel, as the Wolf burned before him. She watched as the status effects appeared next to it's name. She sighed, but knew that the battle wasn't over just yet. She went to use her basic attack on the wolf, but, like the rest of this fight, she missed. The tip of her rapier touched the ground as she watched the wolf's name disappear from her sight. That meant that Koga's DoTs finished it off. Knowing that the danger was now gone, for now at least, she slumped to the ground and just stared at it. "I-i'm so sorry..." But even as she said the words, she shook her head at herself before standing back up. She put her rapier back on her hip, and was honestly about to leave the party. She knew that he would be better off on his own at this point. He would have ran if it weren't for the fact that she had been there holding him back. But on the other hand, she didn't want to leave him. She was torn. Part of her wanted to revert back to her normal nature, the shy and flightly person who didn't stay in one place for long, and the person who seems to have been able to make a friend.
