[PP/F2] The Venomous Warg

Recommended Posts

Urbus- a settlement essentially serving as her temporary home away from home at this point. Vie stretches awake, her arms grasping for the sky and her legs adjusting to land on the floorboards. Her mouth widens for a lethargic yawn that makes her eyes water. Shooting a message to Kiluia, a superior she cared dearly for at this point- practically family.

Don't forget, Warg at 9AM.

Clicking at the send button, she checks the time to see half an hour remaining. Rushing to the ground-level coffee bar to grab a disposable cup she gazes out of the window at the vast mountainous landscape for a split second, appreciating it with the caffeinated beverage in hand for a moment. Lost in thought she catches herself and brings her mind back to Earth. Gulping the drink down, she disposes of the waste and dashes out the door to meet the white-haired male at a nearby pub. This time they would definitely eliminate Yogi while finishing the quest of course.

The message came as soon as he reached the teleport gate at floor 6. He opened the message immediately coming to a halt a little bit before the structure. Pingu, who was not paying attention, collided into the back of the man’s legs. Eyes looked down at her and he flashed a smile. “Pay attention, Pingu. You might run into something bad.” He commented before reading over the contents of the message. He hit the reply button and sent his message just as quick.

Hey.

Be there as soon as I can. I'm already on the way.

With that moment, he was in a different scenery of floor 2. The weather was 90 times better than the one he was at earlier and he took a deep breath. He had always admired this floor but he enjoyed his home since it was close to the tropical fruits he needed for his daily ingredients. Amber eyes washed around the NPC’s and adventurer’s alike as they trotted along doing their daily engagements. Urbus was always a good place to be. The fresh crisp air, the fresh ingredients and the food of course. Garbed in his new items, he had broken the threshold of the tier rated system in the game. Of course, he was bottom line at the time.

Footsteps traversed toward the coordinates that were given to him through Vie. It was a pub that he had not been to very much but had seen various times through his travels. Footsteps creaked up the wooden case and he pushed open the heavy doors looking for Vie. When he caught a glimpse of her, he waved to her from where he was standing. “Hey, Vie.” He flashed a warm smile to her.

Having made her way over Vie finally parts the two hefty wooden panel doors and walks beside where a merchant had sat- unintentionally initiating a conversation with him. The male's sickly voice drench with concern had told a tragic tale of how he had difficulty supporting his family due to beasts. At the mention of a reward, the redhead accepts the prompted quest- a location now marked on her map. While gazing at the surroundings of the marked area, she's handed a vial of toxic-looking liquid that's supposedly used to rid of toxic ailments. After their brief conversation, the girl looks at the world clock and takes a seat at the center of the bar. Appreciating the atmosphere the cozy wooden- almost cabin-esque- interior had provided, she waits for Kiluia. Ordering a water from the bartender, she stares at his preparation and flawless serving tactics. His movements seemed flawless, customer interactions wonderfully involved. Sipping the received beverage, the more time that passes by the more bored she appears going so far as to stare at the condensation on the glass cup.

When the white-haired protagonist looking male enters, she waves him over and explains what they've got to do together for the quest's completion. "Do you think we can do it?" She asks in a slightly unsure tone despite knowing the fact that the experienced man had gone and succeeded during worse scenarios. She supposed she should've said something similar to 'Do you think I can at least be of help?' and corrected herself, yet instead she waits for a response while idly running her index finger in circles along the moist lip of her cup. Realizing that the motion produced some sort of melodic sound, she acts a bit embarrassed and ceases- clearing her throat.

Having seen the quest before, he had not actually helped anyone out on it. The details of the quest were indeed straight forward. When she asked her question, his eyebrow perked slightly at it. She had come a long way since they had first met, and he believed that she would have no issue dispatching this quest by herself. He would be there for a security measure. It was always good to be safe with large numbers. He waved the bartender down and ordered himself a cola before petting on the penguin’s head. “I think we should be just fine. The details are clear and it seems to be a kill quest. They usually are not complicated.” He spoke softly.

There was no telling who here was listening to their conversation, but he would indeed be on alert and show them that he was also aware of any potential listeners. Eyes looked at Vie and he gave another warm reassuring smile to her. “Is something about this that you are concerned with?”

She picks her head up off the table and makes brief eye-contact with the white-haired male. Knowing the matter wasn't of concern to him, she should've predicted his response. Nonetheless she acted a little weary of the situation, doubting herself and perhaps even her experience as she got a lot of help and hadn't grown as a person too much quite yet. "Even though I've grown quite a bit in comparison to when we were hunting boars with Haine, I find myself feeling unsure. You know?" She asks rhetorically, though acknowledging that Kiluia must've experienced this sort of feeling much further in the past instead of now. Contemplating the difference in scale this event must be for him in stark contrast to how she perceived the situation... How large of a mountain level and power is to scale. Experience... shapes people. Killing mobs had been relatively new to the girl despite having watched plenty of fights- including to how he had absolutely destroyed that massive insect the other day.

Taking a few gulps of the water, ice cubes clink against the bottom of the glass as she finishes it. Swiveling around in the seat, standing up, and walking a little towards the door, elaborating on her point of view, "Sorry for being a bit of a downer, it just looks sort of scary from my position. You know? I-- know we can do it." Her tense shoulders ease up, and she spins around to face him properly. Pupils travel to meet his, an expression of confidence worn as she asks him to join her on this adventure. "Do you think we'll encounter any bears today?" the attempt at spurring on a different conversation is voiced aloud as she changes the subject to a more playful one. Continuing with, "I wonder what bear tastes like- whether Haine would enjoy it." Entertaining the idea of Haine reacting in disgust at the mere concept and internally creating a side quest to go on just in case they finished earlier than expected.
