  1. As of now I've pretty much added the dice everywhere. In addition I put in parenthesis the words battle, craft, an loot for you nostalgia players beside the d10, d12, and d20; the previously used 3 dice system we had.

  2. This is not a joke, nor was it intentional. Here's the technical side to things for clarification.

Our former phpBB software run site allowed the same email to be used on multiple accounts, our new IPB forum software run site does not allow this same feature. So here's why you may be noticing missing accounts and posts for those accounts now merged to another account.

Since the conversion software that took the accounts, posts, private messages, categories, etc... took everything from old site to new site, it did not know what to do with accounts that had same emails and on it's own merged the accounts taking the former as the primary and then merging posts from all secondary accounts to the primaries. Bear in mind we added a feature that wasn't standard with phpBB, the linking account feature, which threw another incident into the equation. And I'm thinking with the multi-used emails and the linked accounts, both played a role into this catastrophe.

Now what can we the staff of SAO-RPG do for you? Honestly nothing. There is no undo or "fix" button to make this right for you.

The GM's could go through each and every single post you know that belonged to another account and reattach each and every single post you inform us to another account, but again that's EACH and EVERY single post you'd have to go through and inform us belongs to X account. That be time consume for you and for us, but it's a possible work around available, but would take much time. Also note you'd have to go and re-create the lost account names for us to attach said posts to.

So I'm not here to provide you with a sure fire fix that will happen, I'm just informing you all of the situation that happened and where we stand right now. If this is critical and important for you to be done, just remember how short staff we are, how many active staff members currently volunteer here, and how many accounts this has affected if you want a real answer when this can be resolved.

  3. Many of you oldbies were familiar with the old site's inability of you the players from uploading avatars onto the site. That was done intentionally to prevent players from adding in avatars that were not lore friendly. Hence why I had galleries upon galleries of images to choose from. In addition I allowed winners of certain events to submit to me an image that would be reviewed and added as your own personal avatar i.e. the level 8 event.

Now that we moved over to this new site, the same scenario presents itself. Do we intentionally allow or disallow players the ability to upload their own avatars? The new rule is, yes you can upload your own avatars however they MUST be lore friendly. Now some of you may be asking, "Erroneous, what is lore friendly?"

Just as your username is your character's name, in addition your avatar is a visual representation of your character. This fictional MMO we play in is medieval style but with the emphasis on "swords". Therefore guns, cars, tanks, boats, planes, mutants, monsters, animals, and other visual representations that doesn't not depict a character and a sword would not be considered "lore friendly" and will be subject to deletion.

Failure to understand your avatar was deleted because it wasn't lore friendly and you don't learn from your mistake and make it again, will cause you to have a warning strike on your account. Accumulate many warning's on your account and your account will automatically be banned by the site itself, not by some individual.

This is my first and final warning on what we expect from your avatars and what we will tolerate. There is to be no exceptions to any players, staff included. (not staff ran monster accounts though)

  4. The whole javascript displaying dices randomly could be displayed only in the as-you-are-posting page instead of the topic view page, as many have expressed the mundane tasks of posting and then editing post later to coincide with the dice roll displaying after posting. The only downside is that the javascript dice on the posting page could be changed each time you press refresh. So back to the reason why we took away a posters ability to delete posts to get better dice rolls would come into play. But, that's all up to you the staff and players best wishes but it too would basically be the honor system.

Also, if you choose "other", please explain or recommend your thoughts.

  5. 35 of you state "I like leveling up by posting"

16 of you state "I hate leveling up by posting"

A whopping 69% to 31% ratio have voiced your opinions and given us factual feedback. We can not know what you feel or what your opinion is on how our systems perform unless you tell us. So polls like this we will be using as references to when we make decisions on to continue, remove, reuse, rebuild, or re-purpose some of our systems, rules, and guides.

By all means, give us the true honesty and opinion on what you like and dislike in polls like these; just keep your languages down to a PG-13 level with less profanity to get your statement out.

  6. where is the game for alo and ggo? Like there is no download link for the 2

This is an online role playing site where you play by posting. There is no downloads, there are no files, there is no physical game other than the one you make up with your words exchanged with others.

Think a chat room with dungeons and dragons but Alfheim Online and Gun Gale Online.

  7. Now that ALO sections are publicly available to everyone, the beta invitation quest is now over. I thank each and everyone of you who applied to this invite and had an early access to this section. Now that the general public can too see and play, I recommend it will be up to all of you to decide how the game plays out and the new players will be looking to you the beta invitee's for support and direction, as well as role models and moral.

  8. Every week I will be setting up several polls to pick your brains about our current progress and trend. Please feel free to contribute towards these weekly polls and if you like provide feedback in the comments section below.

    Poll Week #1

Question: Are you happy with the current direction and presentation of SAO-RPG?

  9. Our original intent was to make the workload of the Game Master staff lighter by having some aspects of the site automated. In addition making these aspects for the site quick and evolving for players. By having levels attributed to your overall posting, meant that the more you contributed and dedicated towards the site meant that your character too grows. And why not, the highest leveled players should be the ones with the most dedicated time and number of role-plays written, and this to us made your posting achievements an accomplishment in itself.

Whereas quality by posts to determine levels, meant adding one more chore to the Game Master staff. Grading and evaluating. Hindered and having to wait on a staff member to review and give you your levels. And that a newbie player for 2 weeks compared to a veteran player of 8 months would show the contrast on the level gap seeing how the 8 month old player would have been far vested into their character than the 2 week player.

This setup has been a debate for players and staff for quality vs quantity, and being overall an unfair expectation. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, we would like to hear your feedback on the matter. Please answer the poll above and if you like leave a feedback in the comments below.
