  1. "Nah, It's fine. At the moment I've staying at an inn on the other side of starting city. They let me use a room, as long as I share goods every now and then. I like to explore a lot though, so I don't have a permanent place. I'm always moving around. Who knows maybe I'll get a place eventually, but at the moment I like where I am. It's flexible."

She told him, she didn't mind revealing this data to him. It wasn't like Kiluia had any ill intentions. Especially not after what he had revealed to her. But she wasn't going to let herself dwell on that, not whilst she was in his company.

"So Kiluia, how's your cooking ability then? No doubt, it's better than mine. I can barely make soup!" She said with a little chuckle, she had once made soup for some of the guests at the inn. They had taken a sip and declined the rest. Kana didn't think it's was awful, it wasn't nice but it wasn't awful either.

  2. Kana rolled her eyes as Kiluia paid for her apple, it was such a typical male gesture. Like women couldn't afford their own apples? Kana's had grown up in a family full of feminist women, her grandmother especially. Her Grandmother believe that men were put on earth to satisfy the needs of women and to gift them with motherhood upon order. It was a little bit odd. But Kana loved her regardless of her wacky ways and pro-women idealogy.

Kana took a bite into her apple, her mouth watered at it's flavour. She let out a little moan, "God, this is good!" she spoke, covering her mouth with her free hand so that chunks of apple wouldn't fly everywhere. Not that she was sure if they would, but you never knew in this game. She swallowed her mouthful before she spoke again,

"I'd love to, I won't guarantee a good meal, but I'm sure it'll be fun."

  3. She smiled at him, "Sorry, I don't mean to moan, I should really just try to level up my cooking but it's seems I'm don't have the greatest talent for it. I didn't back at home either, Dad always made the dinners at ours, he was such a good cook!" It wasn't uncommon for men in the Misouko family to be good chef's. So far it had been many women running the business, so someone needed to stay at home. Apparantly Kana's father had tried a maid once, but soon found her stealing their cutlery, so she was dismissed. Now he doesn't trust anyone else in their home, apart from the security detail.

Kyoko used to always joke that if Kana's brought home a man that couldn't cook, he'd leave with a frying pan wrapped around his head. The idiot, it amazed her how much she missed him. Kana looked over to the fruit and made an executive decision seeing as Kiluia was being pretty flexible.

Taking charge she lead him over to a stand of apples, "Let's get some apples, to celebrate us being reunited here" She said to Kiluia, beaming once more. The combination of meeting Kiluia and eating some juicy apples could only make this day so much better.

  4. She allowed him to take her hand, she could feel that he was hurt, even if he was trying not to show it. She began to wish that she could love him back, but right now just wasn't the time. Besides, what kind of relationship could someone develop in this world? She knew you could get married, but could you truly have a life together. What if by the end of it you learned the one you loved was at the other side of the world. Who knew whether it would work it? She guessed it was a risk some were prepare to take. Whether she was prepared was a different question altogether.

"I won't leave, I promise you." She replied as they walked through the market, she admired the selection of product, some were in her price range, and some were so far out she would probably have to work for months to afford it. "You don't have to pay for me, Kiluia," She stated, after all they were only just reunited, and this didn't mean he owed her. IF anything she owed him for not being able to share the way he felt about her.

"What do you fancy? If I'm treating myself I usually get fruit, I've already got bread. Man, I miss the food at home, what does a girl have to do to get some chocolate around here,"

  5. She stared at him in shock, What... His words impaled her mind so suddenly, she took a slight step back. She had not expected that at all, after all these years she had only ever looked at Kiluia as a friend. She had never seen him in a romantic way whatsoever, she had only ever looked at Hikaru. All the times they hung out together, all of the long conversations and all the times they bumped into each other at work conventions. He had loved her then? Her expressed softened, she reached forward and hugged him once more. Finally acknowledging his feelings,

"I'm sorry..." She said softly, "I'm not ready to love anyone yet."

She admitted that she liked Kiluia a lot, more than most of the guys she knew. But her heart was still too wounded after losing Hikaru, she wasn't ready to let anyone in just yet. "Thank you for telling me though, It must have been hard for you to say,"

She stepped back, Could she ever love him back? She wasn't sure. She couldn't even remember how she felt before Hikaru had passed. She was flush at the sight of him and her heart would skip when he talked to her. Was that the only way love was supposed to feel, she didn't know. She was clueless when it came to love, she had only ever been in one relationship and she had been 10, the boy has asked her out and then moved away two weeks later. That was hardly what you call 'experience'.

  6. Welcome!

Kana here, I've only been here a day and I love it. I've been RPing for 3 years now, If you want any help getting used to it, feel free to PM, same if you wanna RP. I'm sure you'll have a great time here :)

  7. Now Kana wasn't exactly a dim person, however as Kiluia confessed that it was him who had written the letter. Kana's mind formulated a conclusion that wasn't quite the message he was trying to get across. Rather than understand that he had written a confession for her, she actually saw the possibility of Kyoko bullying Kiluia into putting the letter in Kana's room for a joke. It definately explained why there was no evidence left behind, It was definately the kind of length her brother would go to, in order to annoy her. She laughed, waving her hand through the air as though she was brushing it off.

"Don't worry, that's okay. It makes sense, Kyoko's not sneaky enough to hide a letter in a room, of course he got you to do it. It's fine, honestly, no biggie. Good one though, I even thought it was Hikaru 's writing for a moment." She stated casually, "Come on, Let's go to the market, I finally have someone to shop with," And with that she stood up and began to walk in the direction of the market, checking her Cor as a she did so. She didn't have a great deal, but she had enough to get by. She would probably have to do a quest or something soon to get some more money. Maybe, she would ask Kiluia to come with her.

"Hey, Kiluia, have you fought a lot of beasts yet? They're so weird, I feel almost guilty having to cut them but if it gives me money or food, then I guess it's no different from what we do at home. It was hard at first, I'm not used to games like this so it took me a little longer to adjust than most. But I think I'm okay now, what about you?"

  8. She accepted his party invite, and scooted away to make some room between them. Now she was okay, she didn't need to be coddled, and she didn't want to make Kiluia uncomfortable either. She titled her head at his question, trying to remember that time. It was so long ago, and memories of the home world were becoming harder and harder to recall.

"Oh yeah! Gosh, I remember. Yeah, I know who it was," She sat back and laughed, "It was Kyoko playing a prank on me cause I'd put salt in his coffee the week before, which he totally deserved. I told him if he didn't stop calling me a brat he would get it, and he did. You should have seen his face when he drank it, priceless! It wasn't a little bit either, I'd basically poured the entire salt pot in there!" She giggled at the memory.

Kana was completely unaware that Kyoko had lied, pretending that he had done it. When Kana had thought someone had broken into her room, she had got scared and been unable to sleep. Although the letter was sweet, if a little cheesy, it was how it had got there that had worried her. The fact that someone was so easily able to break into her room, terrified her. So to calm her down, Kyoko had told her it was a revenge prank. She had been able to finally sleep easily after that, and it was forgotten as far as Kana knew. She wasn't aware that up until the present they had still been trying to figure out who did it, they had left no traces whatsoever.

  9. She laughed at his words, the sadness fading, she felt stable now. She would be able to cope now that she wasn't on her own, maybe she could even one day forgive herself for what happened. No just yet though? She had only just confessed. She pulled out of his hug, and held out her hand for a handshake.

"How about this? From now on, we protect eachother, like you said no charge. Deal?" She offered, she didn't want to feel as though he was her bodyguard, even though that was ironically what he was trained for.

They were equals, and she wanted to make sure he knew that.

She wasn't quite sure about a joining a guild, but if it was just Kiluia, then sure she could party with him. Just for a while to see how it goes, who knew they could be together all the way up to the top. If they ever got there, who knew how it would go. She would be happy just to have some company whilst in their crazy world, there was still lots to be discovered and she was glad she wasn't going to have to do it only. She selected her menu, and sent Kiluia a friend request. Hoping that he would accept.

  10. Kana flushed red, she realised that the fall didn't hurt, the reaction was just habit. She sighed, before she knew it Kiluia was standing above her. Ahh, there he was. They had agreed to hang out together after being reunited had definitely created a strong bond between the two of them. She had decided to take a walk whilst waiting for him, and here she was humiliated in front of a bunch of losers.

She pushed herself up onto her feet, as Kiluia confronted the guys mocking her, she placed her hand on Kiluia chest. "Don't worry about them everyone's looking, let's go," She said trying to calm him down,

"Pipe down, Pipsqueak! Don't deny that wasn't hilarious!" The guy who had hit on her retorted, Kana's temper flared, Pipsqueak? Oh no he didn't! She spun around and stormed towards them, having already forgotten that she was attempting to calm Kiluia down.

"Seriously! An ogre like you doesn't even have the right to speak to him, he's twice the man you are." She snarled, hands on her hips in her usual defensively stance.

"Oh I see, this your type is it? Puny." The loser retorted, Kana smirked suggestively. Hoping Kiluia wouldn't misinterpret what she was about to say,

"I would hardly call him puny, quite the opposite actually. If anything, he's hard to handle." She winked at Kiluia suggestively, of course they hadn't done anything of the sort. They were just friends. But she wasn't going to let these idiots know that, she wanted to embarrass the leader, and it looked like it was working. "Why would I even consider a loser like you! You probably don't even know where everything is? You know, except your own." She didn't care if she was being rude, she had hit a nerve and she knew it.

"Why you little!" Without warning he reached forward and grabbed her by the hair, pulling her to her knees.

  11. She had cried many times since the day Hikaru and Sakie died, so many times she had lost count. For a while the tears had stopped coming and she felt as though she had run out of tears to share. She could see clearly now that this was not the ase, that she had simply blocked it out to cope, and now she had told someone what happened. It was all coming out again, only different this time. This wasn't like one of the those times, where she had crawled into a ball and cried herself to sleep.

    This was a confession.

And now she had confessed, she was crying because of the guilt was free. Her words had given birth to it, she would be better after this, now she had got it off her chest. It already felt better. She took a few deep breaths as her spoke, trying to calm herself, slowly to regain control, she wiped her eyes and leaned into his hug.

"Thank you," she said honestly, she was so happy to have seen him, to be able to tell him what had happened and reveal the truth. It was enlightening. Now she had someone here she could trust, and things wouldn't be so difficult. "Sorry, I didn't mean to cry on you, I just wanted you to know. I understand if you don't want to hang with me because of this, I'm not reliable" She said sadly, she didn't want him to feel obliged to protect her.

  12. Kana wasn't paying attention to her surroundings as usual, she was too busy preparing to enjoy her first bite of a game-made sandwich. This was so exciting, ever she she had arrived here, it was always just plain bread. She rarely got her hands on anything different, and she wasn't an amazing cook either. So luxurious food was hard to come by, but here she was about to eat some. She was so happy.

Some higher level player had heard her talking about how boring the bread was, and he had offered it to her. Saying he had plenty more, She had tried to refuse, but in the end she had taken it gratefully. It was surprisingly how nice people still were after everything that had happened, most of the time she expected to be attacked for her items or something. But no, there were still good people in this game.

It was because of Kana's attention being focused mainly on her sandwich, she only barely saw the guy running at her in time, she jumped out of his way. Which would have been fine, people were always running about like mad men in this game. Except for the fact that she had lost hold of her sandwich...

"Nooooo!" She shrieked, trying desperately to catch it, only to have it slipped through her fingers and hit the floor. Then it shattered. She fell to her knees, staring at the now empty space, she reached out only to touch the floor. "No way..." she whispered disappointedly.

Then a new emotion took over, her face turn into a snarl, her fist clenched and she began to shake. She turn to look at the perpetrator, who had now knocked over someone else. She stood up slowly, striding towards him, "Yo! Moron, you and your trigger happy feet just cost me my sandwich!" She growled angrily, and she stomped to his side she placed her hands on hips defensively staring at the guy with an expression that would usually make her brother leave the house.

  13. "There was this guy, Hikaru, I don't know if I ever told you about him," She started, looking down into her hands as she spoke. "I liked him, I liked him alot. But I was too shy to tell him, I mean, I tried but everytime I did I would just become this babbling idiot. It was uncomfortable for everyone to watch, anyway one of my friends Akiko, her brother is his friend and she heard that they were going to get SAO." She could feel her cheeks redden a little, this was getting embarrassing bringing it up.

This was the first time she had told anyone since being here, she had met people and just told them she wanted to try it out. Kiluia would be the first to know the true story. "So I got it too, I don't know why I thought it would help me. Maybe I had some romantic notion that we would fight together and he would fall for me. I'm such an idiot sometimes." She let out a chuckle, and shook her head at herself.

"Well, anyway I did meet him, a while after everything started and we got trapped in here. I was so happy when he recognised me, but then I met Sakie. His wife, she's actually very nice, pretty too." She leaned forward, pushing her hands against her forehead. "I should have left them to it, they had a nice guild, they would've been okay without me. But I asked if I could join and now..."

There it was, the sadness washing over her in waves. She began to shake, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. "I c-couldn't protect them, Kiluia. I tried, b-but I was too slow. I was too slow!" She burst into tears, crying into her palms.

  14. The wolf shattered into a thousand pieces.

Kana stared into the space it had disappeared, panting as she did so, "Oh thank god that's over," She had hoped to prey upon less intimidating creatures, something she didn't mind battling like a badger or something. But a wolf, that had not been fun. It's not like she was in a dungeon or something, just another hunting ground. She turned, moving into a light jog, she made her way back into the safe zone. As soon as she recognized the fields she was in, she stopped. She was safe now.

She let herself fall back onto the grass, putting her weapon away as she did so. She checked out her received item, a fur coat. She laughed at the irony, she would sell that back at town. She had no interest in flashy goods with no real use, besides it reminded her of home, and that was the last thing she wanted.

She signed, calm now once again. She closed her eyes, and began to hum gently. She was a good singer, she knew that from all the years of karaoke with her aunties. She wasn't the best, but she could still outrank her wailing aunt Kanoko, who sounded like someone had lined up five cats and was yacking their tails. She smiled as she hummed, remembering how between goes they would try and find jobs for her so she wouldn't sing, like getting the drinks or ordering food. She always got one song in though before the end of the night, she was a persistent old woman.

She opened her eyes, hearing the sound of footsteps nearby, she sat up, scanning around to see who had joined her company.

  15. She shook her head gently, she didn't want to cry, not when she was so happy. Still beaming at him, she laughed when he blushed, he was so adorable. She wanted to pinch his cheeks, but knew that would only embarrass him further, so she resisted.

Her golden eyes widened a fraction at his question, how could she answer that? Of course it didn't make sense her being heer, the only videogames she had ever played before this was nintendogs and candycrush. Hardly anything with the intense programming of SAO.

She was a cheerleader who had a prospective career in fashion ahead of her. What would lure her to play a SAO? Did she want to tell him the truth? OR would he think her stupid?

No, This was Kiluia, he was good and kind, he wouldn't judge her. She sighed, no longer smiling, taking a step back.

"Come, I'll explain it to you" She turned and lead him to the empty bench they had been sat on, placing herself down to the left of the bench, she patted the spot next to her. She wanted Kiluia back in her life, knowing someone on the game would make her feel less lonely. But the other guild members that had thrown her out were still around as far as she knew, and she didn't want him hearing this from anyone else. She wanted him to trust her, and she couldn't do that if she didn't let him know about the dark shadow that clouded her mind these days.

She wasn't the same girl, he had met years ago. She knew death now, she knew what it was like to lose someone you loved, and that had aged her somewhat.

  16. Kana's happiness bloomed as her hugged her back, she hadn't met a single other person she knew other than Hikaru. Since then she had been very much alone really. She didn't want to join any guilds because she didn't want to have the responsibility of another person life in her hands.

You. Will. Not. Cry!! She ordered herself as she felt an onslaught of tears attempting to pour out. She fought them back down, she pulled back so she could look at his face. Yep, it was definitely him.

Kiluia had experienced the same family influence as Kana had growing up, both were being pushed to enter their families businesses. Although Kana hadn't minded hers so much, she was well aware of Kiluia feelings on his. That was how they had bonded, Fashion events need security, what with all the celebrities that attended. Like fate, they had so happy to be at the same one, and became friends.

She smiled at his words, "I know, me too." She was glad he was here, at least to have found him. She already felt a little less alone in this wacky made up world.

"I should have known you would be here, you did like games, much more than I did. I didn't think to look for you, If I had known, I would've tried to track you down."

  17. Kana was still lost in thought when Kiluia entered the area, she was still lost in her train of thought. She knew why she was here, because she had believed that here she may have been able to win Hikaru's heart. Of course, that had not been the case. It was moments like these Kana contemplated whether she actually ever stood a chance with him. It was a dark thought, one she had more often than she liked.

    "Kana,"

She barely heard it, it took her a moment to register that someone had even called her name. She blinked a few times, then looked down from the sky. She scanned around until her eyes landed on the one approaching her. She stared at him, he was looking at directly at her, Kiluia.

It was a few seconds before Kana reacted,

"Oh my god!" She almost screeched, jumping up from her seat with such force she nearly knocked it over, she ran to him. Leaping forward, she threw her arms out the hug him. Dragged out of her dark train of thought, she could feel the happiness filling her already.

    Finally, a friend.

"Oh, Kiluia, I can't believe it, you're here! In SAO! I can't believe it, I mean I know I should, but... I'm just so happy to see you," She was talking so fast, she could barely get the words out.

  18. "Whatever! I only asked cause I felt sorry for you, Like you could handle this anyway!"

Kana sighed, she honestly hadn't been rude that time. It wasn't the first time she had been approached during the start of the game, she sort of understood that she wasn't exactly an ugly girl. And yeah, there had been times when she had rejected guys before in a way that had left them in tears, but only because they had acted like pigs in the process. However, she was feeling happy today and had simply said 'No, thank you'. Suddenly, this loser was claiming he felt sorry for her? Now that was unacceptable.

"The only thing I'd want to handle you with is a pitchfork," She snapped back, spinning on her heel, she began to stride away confidently. She could hear his buddies laughing at him, she smirked. It was always nice to have little victo-

    SMACK!

"Oww..." Kana grumbled, she had suddenly lost her balance, slipping over backwards and landing very hard on her rear. She reached behind to rub it, trying hard to ignore the roars of laughter behind her.

Well, you couldn't win them all.

  19. Where it all began...

Kana was not quite sure why she was here, she didn't particular like Starting City. After everything she had experienced here, the mere sight of everything left a hole in her chest. Despite the beautiful scenery and the safety of her surroundings, she did not feel at peace.

    It hurt to be here.

And yet here she was, sat on a local bench, staring at the incredible blue sky. She closed her eyes for a moment and sighed deeply, inhaling what felt like crisp fresh air. But she knew it wasn't. Was the real sky this blue at home? She wondered, trying to imagine what her father and brother would be doing right now.

Were they snoozing comfortably in their beds at home? They weren't early risers like Kana, Kyoko especially had been known to smash his alarm clock to pieces upcoming awakening. Kana smiled at the memory, it was of course her who had set it so early for him. She opened her eyes once more to the sky, "Why am I here?" she muttered more to herself than anyone.

    About:

Kana is an all around good girl, with a cheeky personality and a short temper. She grew up raised by her dad, Tsubasa and older brother Kyoko, Kana's mother walked out on them when Kana was six. With so much male influence in her childhood, her relatives expected that she would become a tomboy. However the opposite rather happened, although Kana isn't afraid to rough and tumble with the boys when necessary, she grew up more feminine than her family expected. With a love for girls bands, dancing, shopping and painting, she grew up a delightful young lady amongst the Misouko's youngest generation. The importance of Kana's becoming a lady stems from the desire for the latest generation of Misouko offspring to take over the family business, run by Kana's grandmother, AKana, who she is named after. The two children in the running were Kana, and her younger cousin, Mimi. Although Mimi is highly feminine, she is also very shy and suffers from kidney problems which made her a risk. From the looks of things when Kana was going to graduate college, she was set to take over the business, and Idea she didn't mind. Oko-Art, the family's company, was a fashion line that managed multiple fashion designed and modelling programmes. As Kana enjoyed fashion, she always imagined this would be how she spent the rest of her life, what she didn't expect was to end up trapped in a virtual world.

The reason she become trapped in SAO, was done to her first love Hikaru. She had a huge crush on her classmate, Hikaru back in the real world, but was too shy to approach him. When she heard he planned on getting SAO, she immediately decided to get it too so she could play with him. Four month after finding out that she was locked in the game, she managed to find him, a guild leader and also married to a play named Sakie. She was upset at first, but she happily joined their guild in hopes that seeing them together would help her move forward. After a while of hanging with them Kana soon became close friends with Sakie, almost considering her best friend. However, during a dangerous mission, Kana was left with the choice of saving Hikaru or Sakie. She hesitated and because of this, they both died. She was shunned from the group, and currently resides as a solo player, unsure of whether to move up or just stay in the safe zone.

    Family History

    Akana Misouko

Akana was born in a shack in New England, USA, her birth mother was Japanese model named Kimiko Misouko and her biological father was a British actor named Thomas Linchfield. They had planned on moving to America to start their Hollywood careers after having only limited success in the uk. However not long after arriving in the US Kimiko became pregnant with Akana, this had been an issue because the two were not married and had not planned to get married until they were rich and could afford the extravagant wedding they always dreamed of. Because of Kimiko's career, she feared after birth she would not be able to model anymore due to scars, she considered having an abortion many times, and even booked four appointments which she failed to attend. Thomas ended up working part time at a cafe called 'Caesars Diner', whilst also trying to squeeze in acting where he could. The effort became hard on him, and he lost a lot of weight in the process, eventually unable to get any acting roles because he simply did not look the part.

When Kimiko was seven months pregnant, she finally admitted to her family that she was with-child, although her mother and father were ashamed that she had not come to them sooner, her brother Ichigo felt pity. He allowed the couple to move to his shack in New England, and gave them money to help them support themselves whilst they adjusted to their new lives as parents. After two months of living comfortable in Ichigos holiday home, Akana was born to the world. A healthy happy baby, with no idea what would come of her life. However despite loving her dearly, her parents missed the life they had, and one night when Akana was two, they approached Ichigo and his partner Louis with an offer.

They claimed that Ichigo and Louis, should raise Akana whilst they went back to Hollywood to attempt to regain their film careers and get a nanny for her. Ichigo was furious at the suggestion and a huge fight kicked off, he argued that they barely took care of her as it was and should devote their lives to being better parents. During the heat of the argument, Kimiko and Thomas claimed that Akana had been nothing more than an accident and that if he didn't take her, they would put her up for adoption anyway. That was enough, Ichigo took them to court, and won custody of Akana permanently. From then on, Akana's parents went off to Hollywood in an attempt to earn success, and cut themselves off from the family. Thomas died four years later from a drug overdose, where Kimiko is is unknown, but rumour suggests she may have returned to Japan. Akana never end remembered her real parents, and grew up happily with Ichigo and Louis considering them her only parents. They had a great influence on her growing up, and Akana grew up playing a big amount of interest in Ichigo's fashion designer incorporation : 'Lotus Lover Designs', it wasn't a high end company, but it did enough to put food on the table, the families income stemmed greatly from Louis who was a high-end stock broker.

When Akana turned eighteen, she made an executive decisions and asked her dads for a 500,000 dollars as a loan to help her start a business. They were reluctant at first, but Akana pitched her business idea to them, she wanted an international design company, that incorporated every sector of fashion. She planned to tap into every area of fashion and connect them, it seemed farfetched at the time but they had agreed, and so Akana created Oko-Art Ltd. After four years of struggling, tears, sales pitches, making connections everywhere she could. Akana's business, which for over 750,000 dollars in debt, began to make profit. More investors became interest and it finally began to expand. Five years after that, Akana had paid off all her debt and given her fathers the money back that she had borrowed, with a 50% interest. She was finally a successful business woman, more famous than her parents had ever hoped to be.

That year Akana met the CEO of International communications company, Kakuchi Yamasu at a fashion convention. Her success had peaked his interest and he had been looking to invest. However, upon dining together and sharing a dance, the two fell in love. Within two years they were happily married Akana , and began having kids that they would hope to bring into their businesses one day. They brought four beautiful babies into the world; Kazuki, Ichigaiya, Tsubasa and Hotaeru. However within a decade of being married, the love that seemed to burn so brightly between Akana and Kakuchi, fizzled out. The couple tolerated eachother until their youngest turned eighteen, after which they got a divorce. Having both profitted from their marriage, the couple split their wealth equally leaving both of them highly stable amongst the upperclassmen. Five years later, Kakuchi married a bikini model half his age by the name of Toni. Akana on the other hand never remarried and worked hard and developing her business. When she turned sixty, Akana decided she was going to recruit all of the Misouko girls into the family busjnness but only one would take over. After examining her bloodline, she had decided early on that Kana, would be the one she would hand it over to . Little did Kana know, from the age of five the business had been written in her grandmothers will as hers alone.

    Tsubasa Misouko

The third child and son of Akana and Kakuchi, Tsubasa was raised with the surname Yamasu until the age of twenty one, following his parents divorce. He changed it back to his mothers name, after deciding that it was necessary to prove to his father that he was not his property. To explain this we have to look at Tsubasa's life from the beginning, he was born a year after his older brother Ichigaiya, and three years following Kazuki. With Kakuchi already born with two successors, he hadn't been expecting another boy, so his excitement at this point had dwindled somewhat. From early on, it showed in Kakuchi and Tsubasa's relationship, although Akana doted on her baby boy, The pressure he felt from his father exceeded his siblings, because he expected him to try harder to outrank them. Much to his fathers disappointment, Tsubasa was neither as athletic as Kazuki, nor as academically successful as Ichigaiya.

It was his mother, Akana that recognised his attributes, and when Tsubasa asked his mother 'why he wasn't good at anything?' His mother told him, that he had something that outshone, anything his siblings would achieve and that he would have it at his disposal for the rest of his life. He never realised what she meant, what Akana had recognised in him was true kindness and purity of heart. Where his brother displayed traits much like their father, Tsubasa was different. Akana saw at breakfast that whilst Kazuki would gloat about coming first in his school district running team, and Ichigaiya complained that his fellow mathletes were as he called them 'Troglodytes'. Tsubasa would be busy feeding his baby sister and helping her get dressed. She knew that no matter how much his father looked down on him, nor how successful his brothers were that Tsubasa would always know true happiness.

Tsubasa had always been very close to his sister, Hotaeru, and would allow her to hold his hand wherever they went. Hotaeru was a very shy girl, and Tsubasa saw it as his role to protect her. Because of his small size and stature, Tsubasa often got into scraps defending his sister from leering bullies. Sometimes, even calling along his older brothers to help, although they were rarely around to call upon. Tsubasa had a a strong relationship with his brother, Kazuki, although he was closer to his sister. He did look up to his oldest sibling, when Hotaeru was being picked on, Tsubusa knew that Kazuki could defend them without getting in trouble. Despite, his athletic status, he was very good at calming people down. Ichigaiya on the other hand had a nasty streak when he lost his temper, he had taught himself dangerous pressure point and could take out individuals in such a way that was considered highly dangerous. If anything, Tsubasa preferred or early on Kazuki's help, Ichigaiya was just a little too unreliable.

As for Tsubasa and Ichigaiya, the two never could have a conversation without arguing. Tsubasa found that Ichigaiya had a tendency to talk down to him, much to his annoyance, he hated being corrected by his older brother. So if he could help it, they would hardly talk at all. Hotaeru and Tsubasa were clearly the closest out of the siblings growing up, Hotaeru loved all her big brothers, but she knew Tsubasa would always be the first to her side in times of need. Although their mother tried hard to get the four to bond better, Kazuki preferred to hang with his classmates, and Ichigaiya was more of a loner.

Tsubasa childhood was mainly happy, with a few hiccups here and there. When he was twenty-two he graduated from university with a degree in carpentry. He quickly got a job as an apprentice woodcrafter in a large-scale toy making company. After two years he received a promotion as floor manager, where he would have to run the factory floor to make sure everything ran smoothly. He enjoyed this career thoroughly, despite his fathers disappointment. As soon as his parents divorced, Tsubasa showed his mothers support, after being ordered to choose by his father. He hadn't even taken a moment to hesitate, later on his father asked for his forgiveness which he gave, but said he would not allow him to bully his children and should he ever witness it he would cut him off for good.

A little while after his promotion, Tsubasa went with a group of colleagues to a work party at a local function house called 'Meri Meri Dance hall'. It was here that he met, Kana's mother Sakura Yakitoma. She was a cleaner at the toy factory, and worked opposite hours to Tsubasa, hence why they hadn't met earlier. She was petite and pretty, with long brown hair that flowed all the way to her thighs. She had big golden eyes that lured him in and a dazzling smile. He fell in love with her instantly, and at first approach was rejected by him.

At first he sent flowers to work during her shift patterns, often he had them sent back to him. Then he sent he chocolate, and was sent a note telling him that if he wanted a girl of a bigger nature he should look for one. He sent her all sorts of gifts trying to win her affection for a while he thought she was accepting them, only to later learn she was donating them to a charity store to sell. The first gift she ever accepted from his was a hand-carved figurine he made of her. Realising this was a success, he continued to make wooden presents for her including things such as plaques with poems, a beautifully detail grandfather clock and even a working music box that played 'Ave Maria'. She later admitted the music box was her favourite.

One night when Sakura was working a late, she walked in only to find he was waiting for her. She told him, she would have a restraining order put on hi,. He replied that his visit was work-based and that he was making sure the cleaners were doing their jobs property, that health and safety was being upheld. He followed her around all night, much to her annoyance, asking her all sorts of questions about her life, a lot not related to work, despite his insistence. At the end of the shift, he told her she had failed and that he would have to spend every night observing her at work until she improved. She went home and vowed to her friends that she hated him, they had already figured out her affections. This went on for eight weeks, the longer it went on the more tired Tsubasa became, having very little sleep between work and observing her. On the last day he stayed late for her, she walked in to work only to find he sleeping in her staff room. Sakura kneeled down to where he rest, brushing the hair from his face.

"You really are too cute," She said, Tsubasa woke, caught her hand with his, and pulled her forward kissing her. She was shocked at first but soon found herself kissing him back, after that they began dating. Within a year they were married and it wasn't long before Sakura was pregnant with Kyoko. Much to Tsubasa's disappointment, Sakura and Akana didn't get along. Although she allowed the two to marry, Akana never approved of their relationship. Although Sakura appeared happy at first, she felt a uncomfortable tension develop between herself, Tsubasa and Akana. So much so that the birth of Kana was the only thing that seemed to ease it. But only for a little bit, it wasn't long before Sakura started drinking heavily, and staying out with her friends. When Kana was still little, Tsubasa brought his children back from the park, only to find Sakura was no where to be find, she took everything that essentially belong to her, leaving mother but the wooden gifts Tsubasa had once made her and a note.

Tsubasa's heart was broken, and although Kana was too young to remember. He knew Kyoko would, both Kyoko and Akana hated her for leaving, despite Tsubasa insisting she had her reasons. Tsubasa did not hate Sakura, he only pitied her. Akana took it upon herself to become more involved in her grand children's lives and began leading Kana down the root of taking over the family business. Tsubasa continued to raise his children, allowing his grandmother to have her influence. He decided he would not look or chase for love, but let it find him. Unfortunately Tsubasa would not admit he still loved Sakura and would always do so no matter what. From the day Sakura left, his sole purpose became the love and care of his children.
