Shay was so modest with him, it really only made him love her more. Though, he didn't like that she doubted her potential, anyone could reach max skill level if they put enough effort and dedication into it. When she told him that she really only wanted to do it for him and to protect him his face went hot and he tried to hide his face with his bangs. "You wont disappoint me Mai, you couldn't" With that they entered the teleporter and went back home, to plan his next quest.

Life smiled and giggled through a mouthful of toast as she told him that some days she burnt it. He then nodded as she told him that they would have all the time time they needed to do the quest that they needed to do which he thought would be a good idea to get a move on now since they really needed the SP. hopefully they could get two quests done in one day. "Of course, but i'd like to get as much done today as possible, I was also thinking of doing the cerebus soon. I know you had in mind doing the quests one by one from easiest to hardest but i really wanted to try this one out especially now that we have the blood." 

Life finished eating and downed the last bit of tea that remained in his cup and got up to stretch. "Thank you for the food Mai, you're lovely" He equipped his gear so that they could begin the quest and tucked the chair back into the table behind him. "Now i think we should get started, the quest is on this floor right?" 

Life frowned at his love as she told him her confidence in her abilities had diminished while progressing through her crafting. Life kissed her forehead and looked at her carefully "Shay, it's fine, don't ever feel like you're letting me down. Take your time with it, im sure one day you'll be one of the greatest alchemists Aincrad has to offer. And i'll keep providing you with as much as you need." Life smiled at her warmly, he was confident that she would be just fine and he highly doubted that the cardinal would allow for their home to be burnt down, that would just seem entirely unfair and irrational. Life kept close to her as they walked towards the teleporter.

 

Life could sense the look of doubt on her face, it seemed as though she wasn't confident in their ability to fight on the higher floors. He couldn't blame her considering they had to retreat the last time they were at a higher floor. Though they were surrounded and he was out of energy. In a more controlled environment they would have been fine for sure, but he didn't want to embarrass himself in case they did have to retreat. "Hmm, well i think we can head on home now. You have a lot of materials, maybe you could do some crafting. How is your alchemy profession skilling going anyway, are you making good use of the materials i gave you" He said in a cheerful voice. 

Life smiled widely when she asked him what he was thinking "Just that I love you and you're absolutely beautiful" He said softly and watched her make breakfast. She looked incredible this morning, but he wasn't sure why. Perhaps it was because the kimono was so fitting and looked lovely on her. That said he felt rather underdressed but he would change into his kimono once breakfast was done. He wondered if she would be upset by this but was to shy to ask, he also knew shay was to kind to point out if he was doing something wrong. It made him wonder how he could stay perfect in her eyes, or stay 'perfect' to her at least. He didn't know what he would do if he she didn't love him anymore, but he guessed that was just life, and life came with it's ups and downs, its disappointments and joys. And he would enjoy what time he had with her for as long as possible, until she no longer had eyes for him. 

Eric happily ate into his breakfast "Have you been practicing your cooking skill? This tastes delicious" He said happily with a mouthful, not knowing how simple the food was, it seemed that everything was just better with her around. Life checked the time to make sure they weren't going to fall behind and would be able to get the quest done before putting away the hud and looking back at shay with a faint smile as he continued eating his breakfast.

Life walked beside Mai and placed his arm around her waist. He smiled and kissed her forehead, pleased with their success "You did good Shay". He was happy to see that she was enjoying herself with him this whole time just as much as he enjoyed every moment with her. He checked the time and noticed that they really hadn't been out for all that long anyway and Life wondered what they should do. Shay asked him the same thing just a second after his thought and he was a little regretful that he didn't get to ask first. He thought for a moment and smiled "I know, we can head back up to the higher floors and see just how much this can really do. After that, we can go do more quests, unless you've had enough for today. I don't mind going back to the store and spending the evening with you" He smiled and tilted his head as he walked along with her, heading closer back towards the main town. For now it was a good as direction as any. Life didn't mind if she decided to end up going home, either choice he was more than happy with taking. Life never knew loving someone could feel like this, this amazing. 

Life watched as Mai came in to add her strength to the fight. He had actually been curious about how she would handle combat situations, and he was pleased when he saw he do a nice chunk of damage of her own on the field boss, effectively paralysing him in the process. "Good job Mai, that was perfect!" Life used the opening to activate his next sword art. Using up the last of his energy Life sprung forward with three consecutive slashes slicing up along the bosses mid section then spinning towards his side and cutting it in the process. The boss turned to guard his next attack but life already darted forward thrusting his katana through its body and vaporising it instantly. It was satisfying beating avalanche down again, it was probably his 6th defeat and this was his fastest battle yet. Life straightened his posture and sheathed his katana before turning to Mai. "Looks like he had an ice fall."

Life stayed by Mai's side as they made their way to the fourth floor. She apparently needed to fix her bracelet or get it improved, he was more than happy to help her with it. The cold hit him, signalling they had arrived, Mai pulled out the blood of champions and used it on him before the others were around to see it like they had discussed before. "Yes, we should be good now" As they neared the player they wanted to meet Life made out the details of her quite fast. Mai thanked her and Life payed his respects by slightly bowing to her. "I don't believe this should be too difficult for us to do, It's nice to meet you" If the snow beast was anything like the one he fought last time, it should go down fairly quickly, last time he fought it though he was a lot weaker than what he was now. Life let the other two take the lead on the plan of action. 

Life began to slowly stride towards avalanche, drawing his katana halfway from its sheath as he walked towards him. Avalanche turned towards him as he entered his zone and let out a chilly roar, blowing the snow breeze over his face. Life griped the hilt of his katana and closed his eyes and let it faintly glow Lets see how much i can do with this blood "Zekkai!" Life's eyes opened as his body darted into motion towards the boss and in one fluent drawing motion, cut straight across the field bosses abdomen, drawing the rest of his katana from its hold. Instantly the bosses health dropped into the red zone. He was rather pleased with himself, last time he did roughly 50% of his health and now it looked like a solid 70. "Oh yes, i think i like this blood a lot" He said with a smile and the ice golem turned furiously towards him and slammed its fist into the ground, causing ice spikes to rise from the ground towards him. Life dashed backwards and strafed each spike in swift motion, looking as though he was barely trying. The spikes stopped coming as avalanche lifted its fist from the ground and shook the snow off its ice clad hand, challenging him to come at him.

Life nodded "Alright, see you soon" he stepped out and walked down the stairs to start tea. Problem was he had no idea how to do that. Does she want me to put on the kettle? After a bit of confusion and thought he spotted the kettle and turned it on, he was continually surprised that SAO was this realistic. He took at a seat at the table and tapped it gently as he couldn't shake the thoughts of Shay out of his head. He truly was in love with her. He caught himself smiling while thinking of her and shook his head and decided to go through his inventory to make sure he had everything they needed for the quest. He had a good supply of health potions still and his gear was up to date, he still wanted to get a new katana though, one with raw power that could make his damage output frightening 

Life smiled as Mayuri cheered for him she rushed to his side and insisted on giving him items to replenish his energy "Thank you Mai, these will come in handy, here are the materials" When she traded the green teas he put in the materials he had picked up from the mobs he killed "That should save you some more grinding don't you think" He smirked and accepted before using one of the green teas on himself. "These actually taste rather nice" Life was impressed by Mai's craftsmanship, if it was her that made them. If not then it would be rather awkward of him to say so. Avalanche was within close proximity, he'd end him soon. "Okay, this should give me enough energy to deal with him"

The prospect of stuns and paralyses in general wasn't to bad, it was just the execution and the manner of use that got to him. It didn't really matter anyway, even if he did get paralyzed it didn't change the outcome. A win was a win and he was happy either way. Life took the mans hand and shook it "Aye, good luck with your future matches. Unfortunately i don't think i'll make it any further but we'll see" He didn't have anything else to say. All he wanted was to leave at this point. "Anyway, i think we're done here" Life stretched and began to leave so he could prepare himself for his next battle. 

Life winced as Kalesh finally landed a blow on him and paralysed him. It seemed rather pointless, but he soon found why he wanted to keep fighting. Surrendering while having a small victory would indeed keep some pride in tact for him. It was a little underhanded and he didn't want to dignify it at all. "So that's how it is then. Well, a win is a win. I'll take it" He grimaced and waited for the paralyse to wear off before sighing and sheathing his blade. He decided it would be best not to be a sore winner and put his angst behind him "Well fought." He bluntly said. "Now, I think we're done here." 

Life shook his head and snapped out of his little daze "Don't be sorry. I guess this is going to be normal for us now" He smiled warmly and rubbed her leg gently before getting up and stretching again. "It's a beautiful morning" He hoped he didn't make her feel uncomfortable, after all this was her home and he was her guest. He couldn't help but smile "I love you Shay, don't be embarrassed" He wondered what their first order of business would be in the morning, of course they would head of for a quest, but which quest was the question. He interrupted himself with his own memory of last night, they were to do the <<Let there be light>> quest. He looked through his inventory and placed on some casual clothing to wear inside. He had only ever used them once before, as he was never really in a private space and always needed to be on guard. He wore a white sleeveless singlet which hugged his body and black shorts. It was closer to what he normally wore in real life on the farm. He scratched his jawline with his index finger and wondered "Shall I wait for you outside?"

Life shook his head "Not a bit, thank you" it didn't hit him at first, but as the blood took effect he felt his power increase. His health rose by nearly fifty percent and his damage increased by a hefty amount. He kissed her forehead and squeezed his hand into a fist as he began to walk toward avalanche. "Alrighty then though guy lets see how much you can take here" Life was ready to see how much damage he could dish out with this new item. After taking a few steps towards him however. Cracks began to for in the ice in front him. He took a small step back and was careful not to set anything off. Within the next moment 4 eskimo's spawned around him. It seemed as though the game didn't intend on making the game that easy for higher level players on low level floors afterall. Life drew his Katana and sprang into action instantly activating his Haku Senpu sword art. One moment there was a swift and violent blue tornado, ravaging each eskimo. And the next moment, there was just him, and silence. He sheathed his blade in annoyance as now he would have to wait for his energy to recover. The loot screen popped up and he raised an eyebrow "Looks like I've got you some more materials"

Life smiled at her amazement at him, her enthusiasm never stopped surprising him and delighting him. He nodded and hummed "I did yes, he's one of the weaker bosses now though, there are a lot stronger ones than him" Every floor that they progressed, the mobs only got stronger, so it wasn't any surprised a floor 4 field boss would be considered weak now. He was sure that to Mai this was probably the strongest boss that she had faced, but he would make sure she was safe. There wasn't much Avalanche could do if he was going to kill him within seconds.  "Normally now yes, i should take him in two hits, so I'm keen on seeing what this thing can do" He asserted. He watched Mai with such loving eyes, always seemingly captivated by her beauty at any point he took a moment to look at her. He wanted to tell her how much he loved her, but he didn't want to distract from what they had set out to do today. "Once we defeat him, we should try and see what else we can do with this" 

As Life slumbered he could see visions of the past. The fight with Hydra, the battle with the shade, that terrible afternoon in the Prairie with Mari... it was just horrible. Every memory made him sick to his stomach, he could no longer stay asleep and he stirred where he laid; slowly opening his eyes against the bright light which shone on his face through the window Life turned his head and met the smiling face of Mayuri. The moment he saw her face, all his worries, doubts and fears instantly evaporated. He nodded "A lot better than in a tavern or somewhere in the woods" He returned her kiss and sat up, rubbing the back of his neck. He yawned and spread his arms apart, stretching his muscles which he felt had tightened overnight. He looked back at her and instantly went red as he noticed what she was wearing and was fixated on her, unable to stop staring at her body in her thin night dress.

Life smiled and nodded at the man "That sounds good to me" He made the trade and gave him the weapon in exchange for the col. It was a nice amount indeed.

Life was headed to slay avalanche once again. He had killed the poor boss so many times he kind of formed a master pet relationship with the thing. Although it always seemed to want to kill him, like a.. grumpy puppy of some kind. Nevertheless Mai had a new item, and it was powerful, and rather interesting indeed. Apparently it gave a boost to damage and health and Life wanted to see exactly how strong it would make him. Since he had slain avalanche so many times, he figured it'd be a good mob to gauge his strength with the item against. He was rather pleasantly surprised when Mai had revealed the item to him. He was certain that he was the luckiest and most fortunate player in the game, all thanks to Mai. However it was also one more reason to be protective of her and watch out for her. If anyone found out that she was in possession of such an item, they would surely harass her and put her in harms way for it. It didn't sit well with him at all, especially since people would gladly just use her like she was just an object, a bottle of steroids or something. It was disturbing to him. He didn't want that for her at all because he knew Mai was too kind to may people pay for her service. "You're fine, it's just very important we keep it a secret" He reassured her. "It shouldn't be too much further now" 

Life came into the new merchants shop after not having much luck with the last one he went to. He approached the counter and gently reseted a perfect machete in front of the man. "What can you give me for this?" Life really didn't care how much Col he got from it, he just needed to clear up his inventory space as he was looking to get a new set of gear. He hoped the man wouldn't be to insulting with the price but he wasn't expecting anything high.

Life looked around and frowned, a little dumbfounded as there seemed to not be a storekeeper in the shop. He sighed softly and placed his weapon back inside his inventory. "I guess i shall try some place else" The walked out just as briskly as he walked in and headed towards another shop, looking for anyone who would buy his weapon.

Life walked back into the store after receiving word from Blue that his battle kimono was ready. Life was rather excited and glad that he finally had a new kimono. All that was left was a new Katana and his new set of gear would be complete. He placed the other 550 Col on the counter and traded the item with Blue. Receiving his <<Radiant Battle Kimono>> "Thanks" He said as he put it into his inventory and walked out "It was a pleasure"

Life squeezed her tightly against him as he felt her press herself against him. Her head rested gently against his chest and he couldn't help but feel content, this is what he wanted for the rest of his life. Her skin was soft and fair and the touch, their touch, was heavenly. He smelt her hair and was invigorated, everything about her made him feel so complete. He brushed his nose gently down the side of her face to her cheek and nuzzled it. He breathed heavily and his chest continued to thump as he met her lips and kissed her softly one last time. He felt all his strength leave him and brought his hand to the side of her face. He caressed her cheek softly as he kissed her, completely drunk in her aura. "I love you Shay..." He said softly as his lips gently left hers. "You make me incredibly happy.." He shut his eyes and sighed softly as he rested his hand gently around her lower back, his hand which was above her, he kept wrapped around her torso. "Goodnight.. Shay" He finally said before drifting off, waiting for the morning to come.
