"It's yours." Griswold offers it to the girl with a slide, watching her pick it up he couldn't be happier. "I got a bit carried away, I reckon." Griswold chuckles, his thoughts getting stuck on Anna for a moment. But he wouldn't sour this with drudging up the past. She almost immediately devolves into a child like wonder, a smile painted upon her face within a moment passing. Then she mentions Gaius, and just like one would expect a dad to do, his smile changes into a raised eyebrow and a scowl. "That boy, is he still being an idiot all the time?" The grumble of a concern. "You could probably

The sudden warble in the girl's tone caught him off guard, making it hard to swallow. Vulcan had sense finished his given stone, and starts to lay down. The familiar Ko poking at the lazy slouch, who was all tuckered out from a day of smithing. A snort as he lets all that air out. Griswold leans forward on, applying an elbow to his right knee cap. "Don't be, we don't have to be strangers. I just didn't really know where I am supposed to be. Yeah, I'm your dad, but that doesn't mean I can just show up and expect to be a part of your life." The voice was a bit broken, for even he had emotional b

[F25-PP] I can stand the heat (Trouble Brewing)

Relaxed [1/2] Staring into the sky with his arms at his side, Gaius all but blocked by the tossed beast. "Did you fig-" The sentence is cut off with this absolute blinding light, so much so that Griswold has to advert his gaze. Shielding his eyes with his hand, as he can feel himself move. It fades rather quickly, and once it does Griswold starts to move his jaw trying to get his hearing to pop. His eyes catch Gaius really far up there, like a speck on the lens. Shouting to the rest of the group with a simmering buzzing in his ears, "You all alright?" Celeste was in a pile, eyes wide like -

Recovers 8 HP via BH The dragon was growing desperate, trying it's damned to keep itself alive. His skin smoldering cast him in a bit of a gleam with the newfound cold being melted. It slips its bounds and breathes flame out again, ripping its head up and even catching Gaius in that blast. "Enough of that shit." Griswold drops his head into the beast, decking a second time for good measure. Then the unthinkable: Griswold makes a move for the tail. A howl into the sky "Better be ready boy, it's now or never!" Grabbing onto that shit like a massive tree trunk, the muscles in his frame start -
A nervousness hung in the air, neither knowing really how to have this conversation. Griswold pivots on his heels, and takes a tiny, almost insignificantly to his stature stool. Placing it down as he rounds the counter, he drops into it. Vulcan eyes him with a whine, as if pleading for an allowance. "She brought it for you, goon, better not decline." The flame kiln sets ablaze and snaps a jaw around it, pebbles falling out in streams of heated rock as his butt wiggles. A chuckle as he taps the side of his walking furnace like palming concrete, his attentions shift to Freyja. "I would, given yo

Metal on stone, and with it a trail of flames that matched the creature's mouth. It lifts a heavy tail and starts to breathe out. Flames dance across the field, catching most of the party by surprise. Each see some damage, but it is halted dead by the sharp inclusion of a shield. Slamming against the beast's teeth and causing the front pair to cave inward, he follows with a blast from his hammer. "Everyone alright!?" Griswold barks to a cacophony of replies assuring him of such, A large and yet dwarfed hand grabbing the large jaw and slamming it shut. This thing's head was easily the size of h -
The out-of-the-blue moving of the stone, makes him pause for a moment with a pair of calipers still attached to that blade missing a handle. He perks up, assuming it was some customer that was brave enough to brave the floor's environment. But after it shifts a bit, instead it reveals one of his twins. One that had never shown up alone before. "Freyja?" He murmurs, pulling that blade from a vat of oil and leaving it on the top of his anvil. Caught in a muddied sense of what to do, how to approach this sudden visit. It wasn't every day one of your long-lost daughters showed up on your doorstep,

The constant slamming of a hammer on an anvil, echoing off the stone walls with each blow. Hard as work as always, not allowing himself to dwell on lingering thoughts or distractions. Atop his counter, a simple toy placed there a day prior that had found itself affixed there since. Sparks fly off of the heated slice of metal, washing the whole place with color. A flash on every attempt, more blades and weapons for the guild as the main smith. He enjoyed it, being as busy as he was, it helped stave off the pressing insanity. Vulcan seemed utterly convinced by a slab of slag that the smith had g

Right into the mouth of the labyrinth, desperate to break his mind out of the funk it had found itself trapped in. What better way than getting trapped in an actual maze. The tapping of other players footfalls at his back, as he raises a fist and peers over the horizon. A single solidary point breaking into the clouds. "That must be what we are looking for." Spoken in a mutter as he pivots around and scans the faces of the rest of his party. Simmone was drawing a line of chalk to allow them safe passage out, it wasn't going to be too difficult. After all, all of them were becoming much more re

A grunt, and for a moment he contemplated punching Gaius, but the fact was he was right. "Now, now boy, it's clear she believes in it. Lighten up a bit." No matter how strange it was, that she just was listing off whatever was on her mind, the truth was it wasn't something anyone could act on. Griswold wasn't even sure he believed what he saw first hand, let alone something recounted by virtually someone he knew nothing about. Worse, that it all seemed the work of fairy tail. He blinks softly for a moment, giving Sam's shoulder a squeeze. "Sit down, get the girl some coffee and shut your mouth

The smith turns to Simmone, still a little unnerved when it came to one on one exchanges. "It's been going, how's that apprentice of yours?" It was a bit odd, small talk between business associates as best. He didn't see his girls nearly enough for his tastes, but they were their own people with their own ambitions. He couldn't really expect them to want to hang out with their old man all the time. The whole place seemed to liven up, more people crawling out of the wood work. Some he recognized, others he did not. His mind hangs for a moment, and for that brief instant he cannot shake the feel

A parade of heavy footfalls, the girls were talking, and he'd yet to see Celeste socialize with anyone. Not at least in a civil manner. The few times he'd met her in the guild hall, she wasn't much of a talker, much more like a yeller. The smith catches up to the two that Freyd didn't just vaporize under a complete overkill explosion. Grabbing them like a pair of lobsters out of a tank, he slams them together like crushing a fly. They splatter, smattering a bit of that green mess onto his face. "Yep." He dismisses it without much thought, clapping his large right hand onto his forehead and sme

Joining toe and toe with Freyd, the girls were virtually indisposed. It would be on them to put an end tot his mess. Freyd was basically about as durable as he'd come to expect, and Griswold despite his size still had quite a bit of his endurance. "Guess it's on us, yeah?" He looks to the dude he'd been shoulder to shoulder with quite a few times. A hammer spins, and crushes a little spaghetti like remaining beasts into the sand, they pop like beetles leaving a nice size smear where they die. The data was a sickly emerald green, as he steps on the last, crushing it flat. Lifting his foot leave

Shouldering past Celeste, Freyd had grounded the thing, and he was going to take advantage of the moment. Griswold was a big man, and like a wrestler after two heavy foot falls he leaps and drops onto the thing. An elbow claps into that beast with some serious force. The sound of air escaping its lungs as it's forced to start coughing. Moments from a concussion, Griswold begins to wrangle, reaching for a throat with a rather hefty forearm and locking around its neck. "I've got it!" He barks with a reassuring boast, the golems arms find his and start to fight back against the hold. The hands we

Slamming his hammer against his shield, it begins to sputter and spark in heat. Sparks fly after a few blows, and it lights in flames. Hammer then shield, connect one after another, and you can hear the thing reel as some of its fleshy bits begin to steam and turn nice and ripe. It smelled like a diner, and the special? Crab meat. It starts to scamper away, having felt quite the honest impact and its HP plummet in nearly seconds. Sword like feet stabbing into the sand as it starts to dig, looking for some stones hidden under all that loose grains. It needed something, anything to sustain itsel

A heavy looking barrel in his arms, a door swings open with the flat of a large foot. The guild hall, as ripe as ever this early in the morning. As he moves toward the back and up the stairs, a delivery of arms as was customary, ready to be divvied out to the rest of Aincrad as a whole. He kneels low and locks it to the floor, before sliding the thing out of the main stay with his leg. "Another one down." Griswold barks, moving a hand to his brow and wiping the bit of sweat lingering there. Sounds of footsteps ring out below, as expected. He was the first, but surely wouldn't be the last. The

The sudden shift forward catches him off guard. It was clearly still a beach, but the sky was a different tone. Floor 24, in the blink of an eye. "What the hell." Griswold remarks, as his eyes fixate on the woman, before transitioning to the rest of his party. Turbulence, and as he corrects, a massive crustacean worms its way to shore. "What the hell." he immediately repeats himself, raising his shield in defense. They were a show to this woman, and Griswold couldn't help but a feeling of déjà vu. Where had he seen her before, it was right on the tip of his thoughts. "Wait, form up." The smith

As that towering behemoth falls to one knee, Griswold starts to rush at the cretin. Aiming for the bit exposed by Kasumi not but seconds before, he'd attempt to draw its ire through force and save the sure thing for a rainy day. Slamming the shield into it, you see it spark and engulf in flames. It spreads and begins to tear down up the massive appendage. Immediately, the flesh turns black, having been scorched by that flame and the fact it was made of wood. A struggle of jerking joints but pressure against them sees them start to move and lumber and get up. "It isn't done, prepare for a count

This begins on floor 19 Solid footprints sticky in sloshy pits, a heavy frame doing its best not to sink in. Cupping a hand to an exposed head, as rain beats down his shoulders. "You think it's over here?" Griswold recoils, speaking back toward the rest of the group. They all were more than ready to take this one, and each of them in their own rights needed to clear their thoughts. Each of them searching without knowledge of the others doing the same. An excuse that was easy to conceal, as this wasn't out of the norm for their guild. But each had their own reasons for the sudden drive to

Lurching forward and coughing, his body still burned and there was a bit of metal shavings stuck to his skin. They could have been left over from his forging. To his face, cradling his head in his hands as he leaned forward on that stool. "Why..." He chokes out, the dream being piloted and lucid. The truth of the matter was, Himiko had taken everything from him. He blamed himself, and was so desperately clinging to the idea that he could make it back in time. How Anna was fairing without him, it haunted every waking moment. Shiina had reminded him this, Setsuna had reminded him as well. Both c

The room catches fire, as his whole life goes up in smoke. A dream quickly shifts to nightmare. Daughters gone, and with them a home. Holding but a single child of three, as that entire world came crashing down. And yet you can see her age, grow in an instant. Before her skin starts to flake, smolder at the seams, and she becomes ash alongside it. Rushing with feet that don't move fast enough. Tired, old. In the wake, nothing more than a blaze at his back and nothing. Strength only lasted so long, virtue only so strong. Latched around his wrists, irons, that pull hard against them and drag him

Change waits for no man nor woman Blow after blow on an anvil. Each spark parading off in violet flashes of light, each stroke casting a glare against the smiths face in but a brief, instantaneous light. Kindling behind him a forge, living and yet tired. A long day, and with it a sea of weapons forged with high expectation. It was pleasant to be useful, it was helpful to be distracted. The hammer rattles as it's cast on the iron, reaching for a white rag riding his right shoulder. Dabbing his brow, removing sweat that, despite his resistance, heat was getting to him. Parking his back
