  1. [9860] 6 - 11 - 19 - 8

I had to admit to myself, I wasn't absolutely sure that this band of misfits were going to be successful in doing anything. Certainly, I did believe everyone was of the right intent, but nobody could really fit in as that last frustrating puzzle piece that connects the rest. You had the shirtless dunce that needed some more parkour practice, two average joes with a bit of wit, a guy that talks to himself out loud, and finally me. We probably looked like a rag tag team, but it did give it a warm vibe. Speaking of warm, the heat of the desert was finally beginning to turn up as they reached the outskirts of the city. I didn't wait for any last words as it had taken quite a bit of time already, talking could be done on the potentially long trip ahead.

  2. The man seemed interested, at least by what I could tell, "The name is Lucifer, but you may call me Luci." I bowed my head a little in respect, "Nice to finally meet you, Kosan." I already knew his name from the talk about his shop, but I figured I would let him feel as if it was a more personal encounter. I folded my arms and cut to the chase, "There's rumors of a fearsome creature prowling in the forest and I need a reliable escort to go with, that's why I came to you." I was a lower level and didn't intend to take the risk of going on my own, regardless of how much of a threat that this unconfirmed creature had to offer. Plus, with his knowledge of the blacksmith trade and the potential of him carrying equipment of a better quality, The Darkin Blade sounded as good as an escort as any. I turned to face the door, "Oh... Thank you." I was surprised he would be willing to cut such a deal, perhaps he had heard the rumors too, "Meet me outside once you're ready and we'll head out."

  3. The Mystery Player chose the girl sitting next to me, I knew my answer was too straight to the point. Besides, hers sounded far more like an answer an adult would say. I began to wonder if the Mystery Player was capable of seeing us and it frightened me for a bit, I was guarenteed to lose if that was the case. Perhaps I should have... I clenched my grip around the bottom of the seat as the next question was prompted by the host, I didn't have the slightest clue of what to say. I genuinely got so worked up into the games that I treated them like a competition rather than a game, was I actually having fun? Surely there was something... yes, that would do. I took a short, deep breath in as I responded with my answer, "I've recently collaborated with a few members in creating a guild based off of the sole purpose of training players to survive and thrive in this new world we call... home." I nearly choked on that last word, it wasn't truthful. I was one of the seemingly few players who didn't believe the spiel about this game being able to kill you, but I went on, "On the side, I've been having a great time running my business. It has its ups and downs, highs and lows, but the entire experience itself is what makes it so memorable."

  4. Now off the nimrod, I made my way after the others. I didn't need to change outfits merely because mine fit the occasion of any floor with the exception of the fourth floor's severe cold. I teleported to the fifth floor and followed Azide, having not seen Oikawa upon appearing. Once we got to the gate to exit into the desert, Azide would give a quick summarized briefing of what was about to go down. It was an easy grab and deliver quest, but I figured that wasn't all that there was to it. Obviously, there would be mobs or some resistance to our presence here in the desert while pursuing our goals. We'd manage well enough on our own, even myself being the weakest of the lot, "Lead the way."

  5. All rolls pending evaluations will be posted here, each post containing the rolls for the day for ease. The Natural Expertise (+1 CD) was obtained prior to opening the shop and crafting any items. The Natural Luck (+1 Ambition) was obtained after the first craft and before the second craft.

Another knock would so rudely interrupt my bargain, "Oh, goodness. Excuse me, once again. Take a moment and consider the deal." I stopped leaning on the counter and dashed to the back, this better be important. I opened it to reveal Aldion once again, huffing and puffing as if he just ran a 5K marathon, "What happened to you?" Aldion raised his arm in victorious glory as he revealed an item that looked familiar, "I got it, I chased down the thief... The idiot was just about to... enter your shop before... he saw me leaving... Phew..." I grinned, that's why I trusted Aldion. Sure, he screwed up from time to time, but he always made sure he made amends at the end of the day, "Great job, I'll message you in the morrow with a new client. I may just have to meet the boss myself, in person. Enjoy the day off." I accepted the recovered material and went back up to the counter, "So, what do you think?"

I watched as another player entered my lounge, obviously with something on her mind, "Let me deal with this customer really quick and I'll see if we can get things rolli-" Before I had time to answer or speak with the girl, a knock at the backdoor could be heard, "One moment, just have to check this." Apologizing to both customers, I ran and opened the door, hoping my deal had worked out, "Sorry, Lucifer... The boss was out today and... I got mugged..." He handed me three of the four materials he had left with, leaving me to release a sigh of disappointment, "It's fine, Aldion. You did good guarding the rest. Go." I tossed the materials he handed me on the table next to me and closed the door for him, then returned to the counter, "Sorry about that, but yes. As I just told this customer, materials are on sale for 400." I'd lean over the counter and, if she would bend down close enough to hear, I would tell her the price I was aiming for "I'd do 350 a piece, just had a delivery go bad today. Take 'em all and I'll even toss in a free one for the road."

  8. I was laying comfortably on one of the couches with the pop-up legs, the kind that I chose not to put out in the lobby simply for the sake of not having anyone trying to sleep the day away in front of the rest my customers. Or soon to be customers since I really did- I sat up, who was that? "One moment, please!" I put the reclining couch back in its former position and approached from behind the counter, the guy seemed lost, "What can I get for you today?"

((Okay, well it seems I gave off the wrong impression. The Black Market is specifically for the Merchant profession itself and counts towards our crafts for the day, much like forging a weapon or armor is to a Blacksmith. I currently have a few materials available for sale if that's what you desire, they are currently 400 each. This will change over time depending on stuck and such.))

I was returning home or, for lack of a better word, my business from the Crimson Jeweller. The owners seemed to be a man of good business, reasonable rates and decent traffic. It was a business that I intended to investigate more about at a later date. There wasn't much time left in the day so I figured I'd run out and try to turn a quick profit. Unfortunate, it wasn't too good. Just a bit of swapping, but it did help the day go by faster. Better luck next time.

  10. I entered the building in a far simpler fashion this time around, not trying to draw attention this time as there were people loitering both inside and out, "Are the goods ready?" As I'd take them to inspect them, I'd reveal a quick grin of delight, they were well crafted. I forked over the five materials of his price, "Excellent work, I might have to return soon." I grabbed my belongings and ran out, business on my mind, though it seemed a little silly how rushed I seemed to be.

  11. [8653] 12 (Striking it Rich! +4 Materials, +5 EXP)

I made my way to the Black Market hoping to make my fair share of business during my first day on the job. I didn't expect to get much, but I did intend to make even or profit, if that was possible. I had only departed with two materials, one in each hand, but as they day went on it multiplied by two, then another two appeared. It was one successful day, simply put. I returned home, ready to make my way over to the Crimson Jeweller to pick up a particular item, or set of items, that I needed to make myself more presentable.

    [Mother Boar] 0/14 ... +1 material, +56 Col

I was disappointed to see that Red would be able to strike the boar again, which meant I had less overall damage to inflict on the mother boar itself. Though, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. I ran towards it head on, swinging my sword upwards as I slashed it in half in a flurry of pixels. Slowing down, I would hold my head tall, "Come, the quest is essentially over. We just have to return to the shop and we'll be good to go, got it?" I'd turn in the opposite direction and begin running, potentially leaving Red in the dust if she couldn't keep up. We'd return before the sun stood halfway in the sky, though it would take a few more minutes to get to the shop. I'd run inside, inform the owner that I'd completed his query, then all would be well and set to start up my own shop. I couldn't help it, a grin would form upon my face, "One step closer..."

    [Mother Boar] 8/14

I was pleased to see she didn't beg the question that she was thinking, what a relief. Though, I couldn't help but watching to see if she was going to catch on to the mother boar that was barging towards her. She had twice my health (and so did the boar), which meant that she would be far and well out of harm if she did get struck. Luckily for her, she caught on and even managed to counter the surprise attack. "Perhaps you aren't too weak after all." Obviously, it took someone with a bit of sense to react with such a demeanor and she displayed that. I wouldn't let her know that I thought of her in such a manner, but at the very least, a compliment would suit the occassion. Following up to her attack, I began to close the distance to the boar and ready my attack.

  15. It was then that I realized just how big of a mistake I had made accepting this rather stupid offer, no matter how much closer it would bring the group together as a whole. Obviously, the two of us had totally conflicting personalities and, frankly, he was going to be in a thorn in my side until he mellows out... if he ever does, but I just have to work with whatever I'm given. However, I'm given X and he is trying to give me a heart attack. I saw him approach the leap, the angle was terribly wrong, he wasn't that good. Naturally, I did all I could do. Clutch his hair, so much so that if we were out of the safe zone, he'd take damage from it. If we were in the real world, he'd be halfway bald. What else could I do? Luckily, he managed to recover at the last moment and even when his feet made contact with the ground, I didn't get off. I simply raised my hand, fist still clenched, and smacked him. Again and again, three times to be exact. He couldn't take any damage from it, but the idiot needed to get the message, "Make a mistake like that next time and you'll regret it..."

  16. I walked into newfound business with a sense of urgency, I didn't intend to stay for long nor did I have a desire to talk about anything other than business. Looking for the owner of the shop, I called out as not to waste any time, "Hello, is anybody there?" A few items were littered about, but seemed poorly stocked. It was obviously a young shop, hopefully he could provide the expert services she needed, "I need a favor..."

  17. Well, it didn't turn out as I had hoped or expected it would. The decision on whether or not they should have some form of marking was split down the middle, which presented a problem in itself. With four people, these sorts of decisions couldn't be a true "majority vote," it relied on giving Azide that extra percent to tip the favor in the hands of the one that got it all together. I believe it's perfectly fair, though it'll be a little strange to become accustomed to it. After all, in the games I used to play, I was the party leader in most of the raids I attended. Everyone seemed ready to get the show on the road, except for X, whom had somehow strayed off about how great it would to be to have a mascot... This isn't some middle school football team, I thought to myself, but I wouldn't outright say it to him. He wasn't harming anyone, "I do believe that brings our meeting to a close then, but one final note - Keep an eye on the time next time." I swept my eyes across the three members, not pointing out exactly who I was talking about even if it was clear, "Thank you, everyone."

    [boar] 0/8 ... +1 material

I continued chasing after the boar as Red cut it off, taking some damage from the barreling boar, "Careful, no need to put yourself in harm's way." I unsheathed my saber and sliced the boar in two, finishing it off as it faded away. I turned back to Red, "I understand that you don't think I understand how risky certain situations can be. However, I don't think you understand that I understand how these games work. I've been playing these games for years, spending hours each day learning and practicing." I sheathed my curved sword, hoping to teach her that not everyone was the same, "I understand that this is new to you... Heck, I was the same way back when I played my first MMORPG, but times have come a long way."

I slowed up as the girl cut me off from the path of the boar, but she was just about as lucky as I was, "I don't know if dangerous is a good word to use." No, it wasn't dangerous, I knew their stats and had prepared enough that I wouldn't need to worry, "I'd say fast is more accurate, that one bolted out of her pretty quickly." I wasn't here to train, I was here to get what I needed to finish this quest. The whole point of choosing this spot was so that my time spent wandering and looking for mobs would be reduced, furthering my levels of efficiency and production. I chased after another boar, but this one was just as quick so I asked for some aid, "Hey, Red! Cut it off!"

I didn't look back at her, it wasn't surprising now in regards to how little Red actually knew about the game, "Where the mobs are aplenty." The mobs that she needed to find to return materials for the quest would all be here, there really was no better spot, at least not on this floor. I let my hand release as she commented on the beauty of the game, "It's better than the real world. There, you're just another person. Here, you can be whoever you desire." I began to walk towards the lake, expecting Red to follow suit, but I heard her call out. Turning, I'd find a mob fading away, "What did I tell you? This place is the best?" I'd unsheath my saber and chase down a nearby boar of my own... though I'd lack the success that Red had.
