Xanatos

The Brother of Mino's smiled as he watched his minions wreak havoc on our team. He reaches out his hand and a red glow radiates off of the skeletons (Skeletons now have Thorns enhancement. 2 Damage to attacker on a natural roll of 8-10) "No pain no gain you little wretches" he chided. "Even if you defeat me here, what makes any of you think you are worthy of the rewards that lie beyond? What makes you think any of you are better than me?" The Brother of Minos twiddled his fingers and the skeletons poised themselves to attack their targets. "Die you fools Die!!!"

Skeleton 1: DEAD

Skeleton 2(Target: Xanatos): The dark creature sprinted towards Xanatos with a fervent desire to kill. His glowing body seemed to give off an eerie sense of malice and mystique. It slashed its blade anywhere it could on Xanatos, just trying to deal some damage with the last of it's health.

Xanatos managed to dodge all of the creatures blows against him. Fluidly weaving himself around the glowing blade. As if he knew exactly where they would go.

Skeleton 3: DEAD

Skeleton 4 (Target: Calrex): The undead horror licked its lips with anticipation. Although it was near death, it would die knowing the taste of Calrex's flesh. The creature charged Cal in hopes of taking a nice big chunk of his neck with him to the afterlife.

The creature missed woefully, crashing to the ground with a Thud! Cal stood tall and calm, knowing he would not be a fleshy meal today.

Skeleton 5 (Target: Hikoru): The mess of bones and magic was intent on taking Hikoru's life in the most painful way possible. He rushed towards him, gnashing his teeth. He had a thirst too, a taste for the blood of player. 

14572 MD 8-2=6 Hit!

The skeleton managed to get a deep bite into Hikoru's shoulder! His armor made the damage lessen, but was not able to prevent the deep bite mark that now pained him.

Brother of Minos: 14573 MD 3............The Brother of Mino's was too distracted by the chaos of the battle to cast his light again. A feeling of relief falls over the adventurers as no blinding light was casted.

I sat at the table that Eth had gestured to. "Nice to meet you Eth! I am Xanatos. Specialist huh? I'm sure Azide was happy to have you join Square 1. We have been needing more front line capable allies within the guild itself. Where do you intend to begin in training the lower level members of the guild?" I asked intrigued. If he is as good as Azide says he is, hopefully he will already have some sort of plan in place to train. I sent for the bartender. "Two ales please" I looked to Eth. "And for you?"

(Quick OOC: Kinda slipping in a disclaimer, I completed an RP recently that would make this adventure a bit more interesting for Xanatos character development wise. If anyone has any objections, PM me and I will make the needed changes :))

The Brother of Mino's words pierced me like a blade. How did he know I had found his brother's sanctuary on the 5th floor? More importantly, what did the King himself not tell me about this place? "What do you know of me and your brother cretin? Your brother was and is the rightful ruler of his people! Guardian of the ancient Hoya's of Power! He lived and is held a prisoner for his people. He is more of a leader than you will ever be! For he is a just King! He desires more than just simple power! He desires freedom and hope for not only his people, but for anyone who wishes to live a life in the light of Law and Order! And here you stand on a throne of lies surrounded by those like you, rejected by your brother. Those that seek to destroy life rather than create it! You are no King...you are only a jealous criminal!" I preached to the usurper. "I will see that your "kingdom" of injustice will fall by my blade. FOR THE RIGHTFUL KING OF THE CLAN MINOS!" I charged at my skeleton opponent, ready to take his smiley head off right then and there.

Immortal Fang glowed on its hilt, the Hoya of Minos shining brightly as I cut down the skeleton. It fell on it's back barely clinging to life.

A rush of purple light carried itself through the room, consuming Noctis and his foe. They were there, and then like smoke in the wind, gone without a trace. The remaining three skeletons seemed unphased by the loss of their brethren, The Brother of Minos just cackled away. "Looks like you lost one, Azide hahaha what kind of leader can't even protect those he adventures with! Calnux, why didn't you help poor Noctis? You saw he needed help yet you just let it fall. Xanatos...Why did you bring them here knowing what my brother had in store for you? You know what fate lies beyond those halls. That little pipsqueak *points to Hikoru* wasn't even worth delving much into. He's just a coward afraid of his own shadow hahahahaha"

The skeletons laughed in succession to their leader. Their bones morphing into what looked like armor plates! The skeletons had been changed and empowered with thick skin! They chided and laughed as they dashed to their respective players. (Each Skeleton now has 1 Damage Mitigation)

Skeleton 1: DEAD

Skeleton 2 (Target : Xanatos): The skeleton charged straight at Xanatos with it's newly found armored skin. It's eyes had changed to a blue fire that burned with hatred and contempt. The blade went straight for Xanatos' throat, hoping to deal some decent damage.

The Skeleton overestimated the distance and managed to only get part way to Xanatos before lunging out, missing his target.

Skeleton 3: DEAD

Skeleton 4: The skeleton chuckles at Calrex, his eyes turning a deep fire orange and dashing from side to side. It was fast, but would it be fast enough to trick Calrex into a mistake?

14493 MD 1 (Hazard Trigger!)

The skeleton dashes too far to the side and smacks itself full force into the cave wall, shaking the crystals above ferociously. No telling when they were going to fall on anyone! 

Skeleton 5: Hikoru was in for a treat as his opponent rushed at his person. Swinging its weapon form side to side to build momentum, his eyes had changed to a green fire in his skull. The sight alone would be frightening to most!

14494 MD 7-2 EVA= Miss!

The skeleton had Hikoru right where he wanted him, but Hikoru managed to didge the skeletons attack like a pro! Was The Brother Of Mino's wrong when he accused Hikoru of being a coward?

Brother of Minos: 14495 MD 5........The Brother Of Minos once again summoned an orb of light that channeled a blinding light that washed over the room. The light seemed to only have a slight affect on us. Our eyes burn slightly with every blink. (-1 ACC for each player on their next BD roll)

I set the next crystal on the stand, my face sporting a frown not seen since the Mari incident. Failure teaches us a lot of things, but it's never any fun. I put Garanzia up to my chin and played. The tune did not change, my heart was down, so m music was down. Such raw emotion could easily shatter the crystal but I didn't care. Eventually I would get it right...

I rested my head on a table in the shop. I honestly felt like crap since yesterdays attempts. But I knew that failure was really the only way to learn anything. So I set the next crystal up on the stand, its faces shone brightly from the light of the open window. I started to play a solemn song, a song I once heard played at a funeral when I was much younger. I can't for the life of me remember whose it was though...

We walked into the Rusty Sword to do sound and smells you would normally be greeted by when entering a pub. Music playing loudly in the corner, the smell of ales and beers filled your nostrils, and the feeling of your hand on a cold mug. It was paradise to those looking for a good time! "Why don't we find a seat my friend! We can get to know each other a bit, maybe share some thoughts about our current front line situation on the upper floors?" Hey, he hasnt tried to stab in the face yet so this is going well!

I slugged over to my inventory and picked up the next crystal for recording. I placed it on the stand and poised myself to play. I chose a fervent tone, more agresive this time. Emotion that is more clearly defined seemed to have better chances of success. Here we go again!

I set the next crystal on the recording stand. I have had some up and downs recently, let's see if I can't rustle up something good. I began to play Garanzia, the tune was light and flowing, meant to be less aggressive than most pieces. The sound engulfed the crystal, inscribing the crystal with power.

I waked into town with my head held high and my mission accomplished. I wandered the town until I found the woman who gave me the quest. "Thank you, my friend did you have any trouble in recovering the goods form the site?" she asked. "No problem at all. No problem at all...." I took my reward and went straight to the teleport pad. Time to get the hell of this forsaken floor. "Starting City" I murmered and I was off to the sanctuary that is the first floor. "Mission Accomplished."

I raised Immortal Fang to his neck and swiped straight across.

We disengaged from each other, circling in the sand. We watched each watched the other intensely, waiting for a moment to strike a harsh blow against the other. His eyes were red and malicious, his hands were trembling with anger. He shouted at me and went for another charge straight at me. I stood my ground ready to counter his spear attack.

I had nearly reached the boundaries of the settlement when the sand in front of me began to move. An armored man popped up from the sand and addressed me. "So you're the kid who killed my teammates huh? I don't know how you managed to kill all 4 of them but I promise I wont be as easy" He drew a very large spear and charged me. Heh..this guy will be just as easy as his friends. I drew Immortal Fang and prepared for a counter attack.

The spear managed to jab me in the shoulder pretty good, while Fang sliced a deep cut in the Bandit Leader's chest.

The night sky seemed to be more calming than anything else. The howling of the wind drew attention to the dust devils battling it out in the dunes. The stars were out, I couldn't help but imagine interesting shapes and constellations by wildly connecting the dots. I saw a sandwich, a glass of wine...ugh It makes me hungry beyond belief. I walked closer and closer to town, passing the ruins of the bandit camp I had cleared. The dunes seemed to take the camp so quickly, the tents lost to the sands. I could only barely see the hint of a post from one of the supports. I kept waking and walking until I could see the lights of the settlement ahead.

Xanatos 14/24

I walked out of the tent to find the moon reigning supreme over the skies. The air felt cool to the touch, the sand almost cold on my feet. I reequipped all of my armor and clothing to stay warm. I felt my energy and strength slowly returning after the battle. I had fought hard and won, and had the loot to show for it! The marker on my map was even closer now. A few more hundred feet and I was to my destination. A caravan covered in sand laid in wreckage. Icons I did not recognize, names of companies I wasn't sure even existed. I placed the items in my inventory and began the long walk back. Drinking another HP pot along the way.

I walked over to the crumpled bandit. "This is where it ends. With me standing over you and your resolve defeated. You cannot even hold up your weapon any longer. You are weak, your friends are weak. All you had was luck and even that ran out for you. You had no chance in defeating me." I readied Fang to cut off the man's head.

Both of us were out of breath from the battle. Our chests heaved with our exhausted breathing, the bandit was below half of it's health. "You were worthy foes, but in the end. The strongest and smartest will win. I will fulfill my mission out here, and none of you were going to stop me." The bandit looked me puzzled for a moment, then scowled as it charged at me to cut me down the middle. I prepared myself to dodge the attack and end him for good.

I picked myself off of the sand. The taste once again invading my tastebuds. The gritty, flavorless sand just made me even more angry with the bandit. "Why can't you just die? What do you possibly have to live for at this point? You are a criminal and I will end you here and now. You will no longer hurt anyone else that falls prey to your schemes." I lunged straight for the bandit, ready to cripple him to his knees.

I hopped over the wreckage of the table and used it as a push off. I spiraled straight towards the chest of the bandit, ready to bore a hole the size of a trash can lid right through his sternum. Please God let this work again like it did on the Ice Elemental.

I barreled right past the bandit, smashing into the ground. The bandit fell to the ground form the force of the attack moving past him. Well That did not work in the slightest...at least it's better than falling into the freaking gopher holes.

I stepped away and took out one of the HP pots I had purchased from Baldur's shop. I drank it down, tasting the sweet rejuvenating nectar that gave me a bit of boost. I felt my HP rise slightly, giving me a breath of relief. "I gotta hand it to you, no one has ever made me use a HP pot before. Congrats. Too bad no one will ever hear it coming from your mouth."

I could see the bandit shaking as he stared into my eyes. I was going to end him, and he knew it. He charged me wildly slashing towards my chest. I positioned myself to parry his attack, I am not going to give him the chance to even deal damage to me.

The pain in the butt coward was trying to shank me in the side with his blade while his friend tried to kick me down. "It's like being bitten by ticks and mosquito's." I swiped Immortal Fang straight towards the wounded bandit, ready to end his painfully annoying existence. "I hate mobs that just won't freaking die already!"

I pushed the bandits off of me and threw the coward over the broken table. I kicked the wounded bandit in the ribs and turned him over. Fang pointed at his face, "Why won't you just die, there's no use in fighting it anymore". I went for the killing blow on the bandit.
