While I didn't have nearly enough col to buy any good gear, I decided to browse around the NPC shops in the starter town anyway. Even though I couldn't get the stuff I still wanted to see what was available so I could think about what overall look I would go with later on. After searching around for awhile I wandered over to a quaint little food stall. As I was busy looking at the admittedly impressive assortment of fruits I felt something bump into me from behind. I wasn't quite startled but I turned around to see what was wrong. I saw no one standing directly behind me but as I looked down I saw a girl laying on the ground flustered. I knew I couldn't just leave her there so I offered her my hand and said, "Need any help?"

The world of Sword Art Online is still very new to me. The bone chilling announcement of Akihiko Kayaba still rang with great force in my mind. Once I knew this had become more than a game, more than something to do in my spare time, I had made up my mind. I would conquer this game. I decided right then and there what shape my path would take. But in my haste I didn't pay any close attention to the world around me. When I woke up today I decided to take it easy, to really observe Aincrad for the first time. Eventually I found myself standing under a large tree. I stood there silently observing the other players. I watched as they defeated the somewhat pitiful monsters of the fields of the first floor and contemplated joining them. But I knew I couldn't do that. I didn't mix well with others nor did I want to. As much as I could I wanted to be a solo player. As if trying to break that train of thought I shifted my gaze to the sky. The seemingly infinite expanse of colors and clouds was simply breathtaking. I couldn't believe this was all a game. When I finally started to soak in the beauty I noticed a figure approaching out of the corner of my eye. It was a girl and she looked to be about my age. I couldn't imagine what she wanted with me. When she asked me if I was observing the sky I ignored the nagging voice in my head and decided to answer truthfully. "Yeah. You know the more I see of this world the more I come to think of it as reality. Well I guess it already is. Sorry but who are you?"

Well basically I'm curious as to how you get into PP roleplay threads. I notice in the beginners section there're tons of threads with two people going back and forth with each other. I don't see a way to join them so I was wondering how I'd go about doing that. Oh and I don't want to make one myself as I'm new to this whole thing and think it would be better for someone with more experience to take the lead the first time. Any help in regards to this would be a big help.

On that subject, if you can succeed in gaining his trust (which isn't an easy task) he will put his life on the line without question. He is also, as one could assume, very quiet and his tone usually varies between only two options: serious and sarcastic. But Kazuya isn't afraid to bluntly speak his mind and even throw in some one witty remarks and one liners every once in awhile.Being inside SAO opened a path for Kazuya that wasn't available to him in the real world: the path to becoming a hero. Ever sense he was a kid, Kazuya has looked up to comic and manga heroes. Most of his choices have been based on the moral code and strong beliefs he has formed by watching these idols in action. As such, Kazuya truly has a desire to help people, to become dependable, to be a better person, and of course be cool while he's at it. Above all he's not in it for the fame. Admittedly he can be self centered at times, but what can you do? All he needs to do is work on his people skills. But perhaps he wishes to be more of a shadow hero.As for his appearance, he has light brown hair, purple eyes, and is of average height and body type. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but you could say he is generally considered to be good looking; however, he has no characteristics that particularly stand out aside from his eye color. He will stop to help those in need and will go out of his way to assist those he cares about. Whether it be through emotional support, aide in battle, or even errands, Kazuya will try to be there. I'm making a journal as we speak! So it seems like I can pick only one skill right now and I can add more when I acquire more skill points?
Then I think it would be best to ask someone to start one with more or join on that's requested. Since I've never done this before it would probably be better to let someone else take the lead. Any other suggestions before I begin?

Okay so I'm new here, created my account 10 minutes ago actually, and I have a couple of questions (Oh and to make things better I've never role played before so...). Anyway, my first question is in regards to just starting off. After I make my post in the starter town, what do I do from there? Do I have to wait for another floor one guy to come along? Is there a way to get in on some of those nifty threads? I've also got a question about skills. I read the tutorial (kinda) but I'm still super confused and I don't know what to do for my journal thingy. I'm sure I'll have tons more questions but this should do for now haha. I'd appreciate any help! Thanks!

The strange girl introduced herself as Miriko. I couldn't quite get a read on her yet but she seemed happy enough. Seeing her up close I could definitely confirm she was my age. I don't know what got the best of me, whether it was my curiously or boredom, but I decided this conversation might be worth continuing. She offered her hand to me and after a moment of brief hesitation I returned the favor and said "I'm Koumori. Nice to meet you Miriko." My lack of conversational skills aside I decided to let this girl continue the conversation.
