  1. Hans crossed his arms as he watched the man test the instrument out, but frowned as he handed over some col. The merchant gave a lazy wave of his hand, declining the trade request and placing his hands on his hips again with a small, almost irritated sigh. "Nyehh, just keep it. I got more than enough to cover it from this lovely lady here,"  The man grinned as he tilted his chin towards Teion, "Besides, I'm probably closing this place for a while, so I don't need it." He said nonchalantly with another sly grin, dismissing the man before he could get a word in, practically shooing both players from the shop. "Thanks for your business~"

  2. "Nyah?" The blue-haired man mumbled and brought a hand up to ruffle his unkempt hair as two players now approached him. He seemed to grumble a second, as if he was inconvenienced by their presence, but placed his hands on his hips as his eyes scanned the trade window that popped up in front of him. A catty grin grew over his face as he surveyed the items the woman put up for trade. "Ahh yeah, this is some good stuff." He said vaguely, dropping in a sum of col to trade back to her for the items.

Hans' attention soon turned to the man beside her, maintaining his grin as he listened to the request. He brought up a finger to tap lazily on his chin, giving it a bit of thought before giving a small wave of his hand. "Wait a sec," He turned and shuffled into a back room where the players would hear muffled sounds of items being moved around for a few moments. As the Merchant returned, he held a traditional-looking guitar, one that appeared to be in good condition compared to some other items that could be found laying around the shop. "How's this for ya?" He asked simply, handing the item over for inspection.

Hans rested a hand on the hilt of his dagger, bringing an arm up to shield his face from the sandy wind that was tossing his hair and clothing. A light scowl rested on his face from the nasty weather. He watched as the others scouted for materials and decided to follow suit, kicking around at the dunes below his feet. He hit something solid and bent down to scoop up an identical material. "I guess the storm kicks up plenty of this stuff." The catty man muttered more to himself. He was fully content with staying quiet and following the others' lead for this quest.

Hans finished the rest of the Field Rations item, glad for the increase to his health. He was going to need it out here. As the caravan slowed to a halt and the other passengers began getting off, he stretched his legs before standing and lazily climbing down to the sandy desert floor. He winced as the wind batted around them, throwing loose sand at the party. He heaved a sigh, grumbling under his breath. Taking a quick look at the others, he realized he hadn't really been part of a functional group before--any adventuring he'd done previously was solo, save for the treasure hunt assignment from Emerath.

  3. Hans held a simple pack of rations in one of his hands, munching away on what looked like a piece of bread. He glanced lazily between the other passengers until the armored man spoke directly to him. The man grinned, finally speaking up. "Mm, Emerath and I are buddies, nya!" He stated simply, taking another large bite and speaking through the virtual food. "I couldn't turn up the chance to do a group quest." He glanced back to the snowy owl perched on Emerath's shoulder with intrigue, though his messy hair still hid his eyes.

--Field Rations: +2 Max HP for thread duration--

  4. "Mm, alright." Hans took the item for resale and put 100 col in a trade window for Emerath. He was fine giving him the full amount, as the man had let him experiment with his equipment and provided the materials. Hans gave a wave after hitting the accept button. "There 'ya go. This stuff gives me some experience, so it's fine with me."

Hans' head turned to the entrance as Zandra entered the shop. He brought a hand up in greeting and another grin spread across his face. "Hey, hey, here we are." He opened up a trade with her. He put the Dimensional Backpack in the window and pressed accept. "You've helped me a ton already. If you want some appraisals done, I'll be happy to do some for you once I have the materials." He said with a smirk.

(+2 EXP, 100 col given to Emerath for junk sale, -10,000 col [Dimensional Backpack bought & given to Zandra])

"Nyaa, Emerath!" The man grinned on his arrival. He leaned over the counter as the red-head approached and looked up at him mischievously. As he traded the items and spoke his request, Hans nodded eagerly. "Sure, sure. Lemme give it a try." He pulled up his menu to inspect the item. On his first try, a window appeared before him stating "No Enhancements Found." He dismissed it with a frown--not a success, but not a total failure, either. He spent the last material Emerath had given him on another try. Sadly, the item's name changed to "Handwraps of a Weaponless Fighter <Locked>". Hans scowled in disappointment, offering the item back to him. "Nn, sorry to waste your materials." He gave a light sigh, "Did you want me to sell it off?" He asked, remembering the second change to the merchant system.

    (+5 EXP)

  6. Hans chuckled, going over a couple of options in his head on things he could get his guild master to help him out with. He had his eye on a couple of quests... He'd have to see about getting the higher-leveled man to carry him through a dungeon or something. With a small chuckle, Hans listened to Emerath's next question as he lowered his voice. Hans simply gave a shrug, keeping his voice down as well. "No idea. I ran into that lovely lady," Hans glanced back towards the dwindling group as Opal went on her way. "and became a magnet for other characters." He didn't admit it aloud, but he had a feeling the man in blue was much higher level than them, although how high he had no idea. Hans simply shrugged, shifting his weight and placing his hands in his pockets.

Hans smiled as Opal handed him the materials and weapon, eager to try out the new system. He cracked his knuckles, pulling up his menu and selecting the katana to attempt an appraisal on. The process felt a little clunky and he frowned, although his lack of familiarity with it was likely the cause. After a moment, a window appeared before him and above the item. The weapon's name now read "Dragon's Breath <Locked>". "N-nya?!" He was confused at the term, and then his shoulders sank as the realization set in. "Nn... Sorry, Opal." His voice reflected his embarrassment. "If you don't want anything else appraised, you can take these other materials back." He was disappointed, but he didn't want to keep extra payment after locking her rare item.

    (+1 EXP, +4 materials)

    ((Sorry! T__T))

  10. "Opal!" A wide grin spread across Hans' face as the dark-haired woman entered his shop. It still came off as mischievous, although he was genuinely happy to see her. "Hey, hey, have you heard about the Merchant changes?" He had been both excited and overwhelmed since hearing the news. Business had been at a crawl since he opened the shop, despite Opal's frequent visits. As he spoke, he pulled out a VIP Perfect voucher, grin still wide on his face. "Looks like you'll be getting the last one I was able to make. Lucky you, nya?" He gladly traded it over.

(+1,300 col, +20 good items, -1 VIP Perfect voucher)

  11. The quiet in the shop was broken with the sound of the door opening. Instead of one of the familiar face he'd seen coming through lately, Hans' eyes rested on a dark-haired woman as she approached him with a voucher. He grinned, pressing the buttons and accepting the trade. "Deal." He said simply as the window disappeared and the transaction was complete.

  12. Hans frowned in disapproval, but did as he was told and took a seat. He listened for a while, scratching his head lightly as the group spoke about guild housing. His brow furrowed in thought, although his expression was hidden behind his messy bangs, save for the frown that still lingered. Finally, he spoke up again. "Aren't you forgetting something?" He crossed his arms over he chest and leaned back in his chair. "Housing isn't available below the tenth floor." He said matter-of-factly. "Nyaa, a base is nice and all, but even if we had the col we'd be in a dangerous place." He mumbled out his last words, "At least with some of our levels..." He was of course referring to himself, cursing himself for not spending the time to power level.

  13. Hans scratched the back of his head as Zandra entered the shop and checked on him. "It's rough, to be honest. I'll have enough for your backpack in another 2,000 col," He sighed heavily. He raised an eyebrow at her request, frowning as he opened the trade window and passed the voucher over. "Mm, go for it. You've given me plenty already." He felt like he owed her more than he'd given already, even with the order he was close to fulfilling. He would probably have to do plenty of material farming very soon.

  14. "Oi, Emerath!" Hans seemed to have made it a habit to call out the man's name upon seeing him. A wide grin spread across his face--the shop had been pretty quiet for a while, so he was happy to have a visitor. As the red-haired man spoke business, his head tilted in intrigue. "Mm, two vouchers?" He tapped his fingers to start the trade, dropping the two items in. "Just gimmie two thousand, kay?" He maintained his wide grin.

(+2000 col, -2 VIP Perfect vouchers)

  15. Hans let out a light chuckle as Emerath approached him, and the man shifted his weight, placing a hand on his hip. "Nyeh heh, surveillance? You really are a rogue-ish type, eh?" He grinned mischievously, leaning in towards the man. "I was just thinking about getting out of this crowded place and doing a bit of...hunting." He wasn't sure what to call it, but he felt the term fit. Hans balled his hand into a fist, giving Emerath a friendly nudge on the arm. "You should come and teach me how to be all sneaky like that!" He had been thinking of how incredibly behind in levels he was, but hadn't gotten around to grinding out any levels himself. Maybe he could convince his guild leader to power level him.

  16. Hans entered the shop, seeing the girl's business had certainly increased since the last time he had visited. The thought caused a wide grin to grow across his face, and he approached the counter, leaning in on one arm as he made swift movements to open a trade window with the other. He dropped in a handful of materials, looking up at the girl after doing so. "Nyaa, so what will you trade me for these? You want them, right?" He assumed any busy crafter would be happy to get their hands on more materials.

(+22 basic items, +500 col, -11 crafting materials)

    • ID#: 37955
    • LD: 8 (no loot) (10 mats, 110 col total)

Hans shuffled along back in the direction of Urbus, deciding he had made enough of a profit to head home for the day. He scanned the area for any more materials he could pick up on his way, but since he was out of the forest it was much harder to spot anything of interest. With a shrug, he pulled up his inventory and scrolled through the various materials he acquired and tallied up his col. He was lucky to have made a bit of experience as well.

Entering the city once again, he let out a light sigh before looking around. He figured he might as well stop off at an inn or somewhere similar to relax before doing much else.
