  1. Confusion overtook the rogue as he looked over to Haine who was stating that she needed a breather. He had forgotten he supposed, and should probably remember later on, that even though they'd all become hardened fighters by this point, they really didn't want to be. As a result, this could be increasingly taxing to some people. It didn't affect Itzal because he enjoyed this. He was an analytical person, and being able to do the things physically that he saw on the screen was amazing. On top of that, he was a really good swordsman in the game, and it was thrilling to face challenges and overcome them. Though this he didn't really consider too much of a challenge yet. What really surprised him was when Lessa agreed with her, and said they shouldn't risk their lives over this. When the two teleported out he looked at the rest of the group. This was a dungeon for several, so the likelihood of winning it all had dropped considerably. It was only now, that he decided to take safety over advancement. He sent a message to @Zandra before he teleported away.

With the drop in our forces, I'm going to withdraw. I'll be at the house, so meet you there soon, or later. Whichever comes first. Make sure you're safe, and don't hesitate to use a TP crystal if things get dicey.

I love you. See you soon.

    Teleporting out. Itzal has left

  2. One more soldier left. Lessa was already working on freeing him, so he went in to help as well. He ran up to her side and with his sword already drawn, decided to help things along with his search skill. He'd learned that if he used it properly, he could detect weak points in certain things. Using it now he was able to detect the weak points in the chains. Bringing his sword up and posing carefully, he thrust the blade with all his might into it. The prisoner screamed thinking he was about to kill the poor guy, but he ignored it as he cracked the chain. It wasn't a sword art, as he needed to conserve his energy, but it was enough to weaken it greatly to the point where Lessa could finish pulling it off. After all, the crack manage to spread throughout the whole, therefore making the entire chain weakened. Now all that was left was to finish off Hel.

Jailer of the Damned [Passive] - Hel begins the battle with three spectral soldiers - spirits that belong in Valhalla - chained up around her throne. So long as one soldier is bound, Hel will restore herself to full health upon reaching 50% or lower as a post action. Hel cannot be defeated so long as there are any bound soldiers.

To Valhalla - To free the soldiers, Players must distract Hel by forcing her to heal herself or by applying a disabling effect (stun, paralysis, freeze). Then, while distracted, they must roll a collective LD of 40 in order to free a soldier. After all soldiers are freed, Hel can no longer heal herself.

  3. This really was a hassle wasn't it? No one seemed to have paralysis on hand, and they had to wait a full three rotation rounds for them to be able to stun the boss a second time. That meant that they needed to deal enough damage to this boss in order to get a chance to free the prisoners yet again. Even still, the boss didn't seem to be very strong damage wise. If anything, this was just another boss that took a while to take down. Not much of a danger, just annoying really. With that in mind, he proceeded to deal his pitiful damage to Hel in an attempt to help them out. However, once he struck her, he noticed a change in her behavior and blinked. Wait a minute... Had his attack actually done some good? It turns out that it did. She was focusing on healing herself now, leaving the prisoners open for the rescue. With that, the fight might actually end soon he thought.

  4. As he walked into the NPC's territory, her eyes trailed from her work and noticed him. Her eyebrows raised in genuine surprise. "Back already? Have you given up?" Itzal supposed that statement made sense, given that not many players likely had maxed out the searching skill at this point. He should really get an LD item crafted for himself by now though. His old one was the purple trenchcoat Ariel had crafted him, and... Well he'd burn that to cinders. Partly in symbolism, but also partly because of the woman she had become. She seemed to be getting better now at least.. Somewhat. She wasn't nearly as hostile to other players as she once was, though she was still passive aggressive through words, and wasn't at all kind. At first glance that is. He pulled the shard from his inventory and her eyes shot wide open. "So you've found a Demonic Shard! You continue to impress me. I'll confess, you've learned all that I could teach you through this single quest. Trial by fire has always been my preferred style." Teach? She basically gave him the tool and made him teach himself... Poorly. Then again, he had been a master at gathering prior to this quest's existence. So he supposed he should give it some grace. Grinning now, the pretty blonde holds out her hand. "As payment for your troubles, why don't you keep the Shard? I will be needing the compass back, however. Next time you hunt for a Shard, you will have to earn it the hard way - with your own skill!" Itzal tossed her the compass which she nearly failed to catch. "Sounds absolutely fair to me. You have a great day miss!" As he walked away the congratulations announcement appeared, signalling the end of his quest. And right at the end he saw the gathering skill at 0 exp. He smiled.

    "Well then..."

  5. There were other skills he could obtain that would relieve him of the stress of energy consumption further, however given the fact that most of his conflicts would be with a party and not by himself, especially since fighting to subdue player killers took far less energy than fighting to kill, and more so since in those parties he'd have players to restore his energy, he'd focus on other skills. When he did get to it, energist would be what he needed more. For now, battle healing was his biggest skill to max out. One percent of his health was only about eight or nine points, and that was terrible. He needed to max it at the five percent meter. After that, he could try and focus on getting either the charge skill, or the quick change skill. He would most likely go for quick change since it cost a lot less due to having no ranks, and it was incredibly useful anyways. By then he should have several good items, and so if up against an unknown boss or player, he could have various weapons with (hopefully) various unique enhancements on hand for him to switch to if he needed to change tactics. He could even change armors or trinkets if he really needed to. Charge would bolster his damage greatly, but it had a downside as well. Therefore, with it's large skill point consumption, energy consumption, and drop in accuracy, it would be taking a backseat to Quick Change. As he drew closer and closer back to the quest giver, he spotted no further materials and decided it would be a good time to call it quits for the day.

  6. Even still, he couldn't just slack off now that his damage was increasing at a decent rate. There was still the problem with energy consumption after all. Between the high energy cost alongside those high damage sword arts (a downside to their buff), the equally high energy cost of both vanish and surprise attack, and the energy consumption of extra skills such as "forgotten king's authority", he needed to strategize his fights moreso now than ever. There wasn't any questioning it at this point. He did have a little bit of relief regarding his meditation skill as well as the improved passive energy regeneration though. Before the big update, energy regeneration was at most, one energy per round in combat, while it would usually take three 'rounds' outside of combat to fully recover. In the new update, players could regenerate up to one times the player's tier per in combat round. Meaning that instead of gaining one per round, he gained up to four. This was an incredible relief to him, as it cut the cost of his greatest sword art down from sixteen, to twelve per round. On top of that, his meditation skill at his tier could recover up to a total of sixteen points of energy, resulting in restoring his highest sword art's energy consumption. It had a three round cooldown, but it was leagues better than he'd be without it. Spotting another material, he added it to his collection before his thoughts returned to the topic of damage.

  7. This mass update. Three point oh. It changed so much, and especially for the better. But this patch was only making it that much sweeter given that there didn't seem to be any downsides to it. At this point it was making his already increased strength greater. He had twenty seven as his base damage without surprise attack: assassin. This patch just increased it up to twenty eight. And when he was with Zandra, he'd have up to twenty nine. Multiply those by his strongest sword art, and he'd be dealing four hundred and forty three without mitigation, and four sixty four if he was with Zandra. If he used surprise attack, it would be five hundred and twelve to five twenty eight points of damage instead. Though of course, this was accounting for all forms of damage increases, such as potions and protein. Even still it was an impressive amount. Especially since it dwarfed his old damage output, which was hilariously pitiful with it's measly multiplier of eleven. Seriously? Who makes the staple weapon of most wars and conflicts, especially one on one duels, the weakest weapon in a game? For the life of him, he just couldn't see the logic. As he thought about this he spotted another small crystal buried in the brush and pulled it out. He wondered if someone dropped this or if it spawned... Weird place to spawn though.

  8. Itzal dropped into a battle stance and drew his sword again. Aldion flew higher to avoid conflict as he had no skills to use as of this moment. It was now very apparent to him that these monsters were preventing him from progressing. They were going to keep him here and ultimately lead to him failing to rescue FearX. This whole situation was incredibly suspicious, and confusing to Itzal. For one, the guild hall shouldn't be here. It should be nothing but an empty plot of land. For the second, whoever took Fearx jumped through this room and wasn't stopped nor chased by these monsters. Which meant that they were exclusively after Itzal.

    That didn't make any sense.

By their very nature, monsters should attack any player withing it's range of sight or sense. Therefore it should have chased after the other player. Additionally, Itzal's stealth rating was good enough to avoid detection from monsters. If they could spot him, they'd definitely spot the player killer. Something was wrong here, but there wasn't enough information for him to piece together. So... Because he couldn't figure this out yet. And because escaping clearly wasn't cutting it. The only option ahead of him now was cutting through these monsters. He was going to assume they had high mitigation due to them being literal armor, but he really couldn't be sure. Therefore he'd have to take the risk and use a powerful sword art on them to end this quickly. Therefore, he charged at them and activated Meteor Break. He didn't hesitate to unleash his wrath on these chunks of metal. His blade tore through it with a vengeance and he watched in surprise as it's health nearly dropped completely down to zero. So their health was around four hundred or so then? He supposed their health was their strong suit then, not their mitigation. Either way, any old sword art would do it at this point. "You pieces of junk better get the hell out of my way now."

  9. From what he could tell, the proficiency had an experience level just like most other proficiencies: blacksmithing, alchemy, artisan, tailoring, cooking, and performing. Therefore, while he didn't have to spend skill points to rank it up, or increase it's efficiency, or even regarding mods, players had to use it over and over again in order to reach it's fullest potential. Itzal believed that this would be the best method of handling such a skill or proficiency of this nature, especially since the highest ranking could find demonic materials, which were very beneficial. And he really didn't need to worry all that much given that he would be using the proficiency continuously. He wanted to stock up his store to the fullest, and to do that he needed as many materials as possible. So it was vital that- His thoughts were interrupted when an update popped up in front of him. Specifically, a patch update. This update allowed consumables to become demonic via crafting, and in addition to that one handed weapons with sword arts requiring the martial arts skill gained an additional point of base damage. It apparently would take a day for this to update, but it would mean that his sword arts would deal additional damage from this point forward. That was ultimately perfect for Itzal, and brought a smile to his face.

  10. If anything Itzal would probably get a house that was similar to his own guild's hall. It was basically an oversized cabin. Far larger than a normal home, but not as massive as a mansion. Not to mention it wasn't nearly as flashy or intimidating, and instead had a cozy, homely, family feel to it. That was what most of their guild had agreed on, and it was definitely the kind of thing Itzal preferred. However, this time he thought of making the house somewhat fortified as well. He'd have to start sketches to get an idea- actually... He should probably find someone else who was good with drawing, and possibly architecture to draw up a map of the building for him. Itzal was terrible with drawing after all. He didn't really have any talent with it. Even still, it would be nice to upgrade his house and gain more of the beneficial rooms. Of course now that he was married with Zandra he'd make sure she got a solid input as well. He wasn't going to change his house without talking with her first after all. As he scanned the area though, he didn't find anymore materials. Thus he'd have to move onwards. He was getting closer to the quest giver, so he'd be training up his proficiency soon enough anyway.

  11. Slipping the apple into his inventory, he continued to think about the schematics of his house should he upgrade it to the estate level. Most estates would have around fifteen or so rooms in sword art online, and often times those rooms would be oversized and huge to flaunt wealth. The Knights of the Blood Oath were the perfect example of this. Itzal hated their building because it was focused on how 'great' they were, when in reality they were hoarders and didn't really put much effort into being a role model. Macradon was once one of them, but he was the pure one of the bunch. Itzal was glad he could meet that man. Hirru... Itzal would describe as somewhat misguided, given that he turned traitor against the players for a hot minute and decided to side with the boss. Granted the system made the youngest look innocent, naive and pure, but once they'd done their research into what "the council" had done to gain their position, none of them were innocent. They were all guilty of something. And for crying out loud, it was an AI. A computer. He still couldn't believe that Hirru and Hestia couldn't piece that together... Reaching out to add another material to his collection he shook his head. He didn't want to dwell on the past too much...

  12. It probably was possible to grow one's own plants, given that the system was now allowing a greenhouse plot. From what he could tell though, players could only utilize it if they had the gathering proficiency, as the yard plot enhanced the gathering proficiency's attributes. However if he wanted to obtain the greenhouse slot, he'd need to upgrade his house to an estate level... He really didn't want to, but he supposed he could just stylize it as simply as possible. He didn't need anything fancy, but at the very least he could design it so that it would be more comfortable for himself. Maybe like a guild-hall style that he saw in a game one time. With an inner courtyard, stables, and so forth. Then again, he might need to double check and see if there were horses on this floor or not. With the transportation changes implemented into the game, traversing the floors was far easier than it used to be. Though Itzal preferred walking most of the time, he always wanted to try riding one of these horses to see what it was like. It might be time to do that now. As almost confirmation, an apple fell out of a tree as he passed, and he'd watched movies where horses loved apples, sooooo...

  13. He hadn't really thought about it for very long when Aldion pecked him on the head. "Ouch! Oh there you are Aldion. Where have you been?" The black raven simply cawed and hopped onto the player's shoulder, to which he chuckled. "Alright alright. It doesn't matter all that much anyways." He stroked the raven who closed his eyes in response. Smiling, Itzal continued to advance forward with his familiar. If he had to choose some sort of cosmetic effect for himself, it would probably be some sort of music that played in the background around him. He'd love one that changed style, mood and theme based on his emotional state (for example, most cases would be soothing, gentle and somewhat quiet background music. If he was excited, the music would change to something exciting along with him. If he was in battle, something that fit combat, and so forth). However he doubted the system would allow something so complex as that, and even then he wasn't sure if that kind of thing would work. It might. He just wasn't sure. Though there was also the additional question of: What happened when two players with music aura cosmetics approached one another? Would both tracks be playing regardless? Would they dampen? Would one trump the other? Or would they both just shut off? It was definitely a question he was curious about, though it wasn't that important. He reached out and grabbed onto a grape bundle that was hanging off of a vine and added it to his inventory. He wondered if it was possible for players to grow their own plants...

  14. On the topic of skins, cosmetics and the like, he wondered what else could have been made available for players. He knew that there were some potions that could give some sort of cosmetic effect, but he really hadn't seen too much of them. Probably because they didn't have any mechanical benefit to the game. They couldn't increase or reduce stealth rating. They didn't increase your attack damage or mitigation. They couldn't heal you, or light up the area. They were just that: cosmetics. As far as he knew, they weren't a 'pay to win' type of deal. They cost col yeah, but that was about it. He wondered though what sort of cosmetic he would purchase if he did want to use one at some point. He honestly wasn't all that sure about it... As Are, probably something regarding shadow. Nothing flashy like bright lights, and nothing too heavy or horror-like such as a black mist or fog. In fact, he really didn't think there was any proper cosmetic out there for him as Are. Now as Itzal.. Actually he didn't really know any cosmetic that would work for him in general. He'd heard of glitter effects, sparkling effects, lighting effects, glowing effects, darkness effects, even background music, but none of it sounded like it would suit him. As he thought about this he spotted another material. This one being an average quartz, and put it in his inventory.

  15. Surprise after surprise came at him in this crazy place. The biggest so far was that this place still existed. The second was that Jonathan, who messaged him, wasn't here to greet him. The third was that FearX was here, and clearly as lost as Itzal if not more. And now the fourth being that whoever kidnapped him had seemingly vanished from this room without a trace. Before he could even process more than that, two full suits of armors began to move without any wearer controlling them. Even as Itzal landed gracefully the two suits began pounding their metal in challenge to him, and he saw the battle stats pop up. Showing that he was suddenly now in combat. D*mnit. It seemed as if this place was designed to prevent stealth from actually working. The good news for that though, was the pker couldn't stealth either. That at least meant he didn't have to worry about missing him at all, though that wouldn't stop him from vigilantly searching for the man either. The problem was where the black cloaked figure had went... Looking at the other window, he assumed the man grabbed FearX and leaped through there. There didn't appear to be any additional exits or entryways into here, so it was the only logical explanation. He'd have to run over there and-

Oh right the suits of armor.

He watched as the two heavy suits stomped their way over to him. "Aldion! Window, go!" His black raven cawed and flew through the open window. Itzal didn't wait either. He made a heavy dash for the window, ready to count on his incredible evasion buffs to avoid any incoming attack from the monsters behind him. He certainly was curious about this whole: 'haunted mansion' deal going on here. But that wasn't even in the back seat. He left that curiosity on the road behind him. No. That was absolutely at the bottom of the list, when a friend was in danger. F*ck these monsters, he didn't have time for this. He needed to find FearX, and fast.

  16. Within a short amount of time the group had managed to free two of the three soldiers that the boss seemed to be draining life force from. So that's how it was. They couldn't kill her until they were all freed and out of her reach. He watched as the stun effect of Zandra's bull rush faded away. She didn't seem to have much mitigation though, so perhaps if they could drop her health to a low enough point, they could effectively immobilize her again. It was after all very possible that it took her a period of time to heal, rather than as a passive action. with that in mind, Itza rushed forward. He didn't have the vanish mod, but he could do his best to stalk in the shadows. The worst thing was his attack nearly worked, but not because of his skills. If he had to make a guess, Hel didn't see him as much of a threat to her. And she'd be right for the most part, but honestly he just refused to be dead weight. Which he ended up being when she dodged his blade, albeit barely, resulting in a failed attempt at triggering his sword art.

    Hel - HP: 2302/3000 | DMG: 400 | ACC: 3 | EVA: 2 | MIT: 50 | Stun Immunity [0/3]
    Soldier#1: 21/40
    Soldier#2: 45/40
    Soldier#3: 0/40

  17. The vigilante's stance softened entirely when he heard the annoyed sound which confirmed a successful defusing. His old rival was certainly more aggressive and grumpy than he was in the past... No, he supposed that was always there. Perhaps this is just what he was without that joy of experiencing the life of the game. He was ready to commit suicide before his only friend and Itzal convinced him otherwise. He must be having a hard time though, if he's this tense. It could be that FearX was stressed from tying to level grind though. With the update he'd certainly want to grind all of those skill points back. "I don't care why we're here." He wasn't sure if he'd believe that, but he wasn't about to push the raging powerhouse over the edge by a simple disbelief. As the player announced that he was leaving, Itzal nodded. "That's fair." He stepped to the side for FearX to head out towards the exit, though he followed him a bit so he could re-analyze the rooms. It still bugged him that this place was somehow still standing... By all accounts it shouldn't even exist anymore. Not a single trace of it.

When the player waved to him, he simply smiled beneath the black mist, and gave him a nod. "You as well...Old friend." With that he let his friend open up the doors. While he did so, he began to think about what his next plan of action should be. He should start by securing the perimeter. Scan all the hallways for potential traps or tracks. His scouting skill was still as high as it ever had been. Even more so actually thanks to the new cloth armor mod. With it he could-

His thoughts were interrupted when as he turned he spotted a set of arms reach through the door and grab FearX before dragging him through. Itzal immediately drew his sword but he knew immediately that he wouldn't make it through the door before it closed. This place was a ruin, but it was also an anomaly. It shouldn't be here in the first place. For all he knew, the building itself was the trap. Before he could take any other action however, he spotted the figure: He was wearing a black cloak, and had an orange cursor.

Immediately taking out one of his corridor crystals that lead to the prison the players established and hanging it on his belt where a pair of handcuffs lay hidden, he rushed for one of the windows, specifically the right one which was half shattered. Activating his stealth skill, he ran up the side of the wall and let himself fall through the open part of the window to avoid making any noise and decrease the chances of not getting caught. As he did so, he activated his search skill simultaneously so that he could clearly see despite moving quickly.

    ID# 192983  LD: 9+5=14

NOTE: Itzal is not mechanically activating the search skill yet. It is used as flavor as of now to prevent his vision from blurring while moving.

  18. As Itzal walked along the massive corridors of the castle, he couldn't help but wonder... Who was it who changed the guild hall at the last moment? Morgenstern? He knew the player loved big things, his mansion was proof enough of that. However the tank very well knew that they all wanted something more family and cozy like. Could it have been Hikoru? No, he wasn't really that flashy, and even then he wouldn't just take over like that. Kasier was on Itzal's side about the down and calm stuff... Shield? He was a business man, but he seemed to- His thoughts were interrupted when he heard someone yell, the loud voice reverberating off of the walls. Turning to look at who it was, he saw with utter shock: FearX. Just seeing the red eyed, blonde haired player brought back all those memories of the two of them competing in video games as rivals. Only for the two of them to fall into the world of SAO, FearX become potentially the most powerful player alive, then try to kill Itzal to prove he was the best... Before killing himself. Itzal and FearX's friend, one of his seven virtues, convinced him to live on however, and the two of them left together. Itzal hadn't heard from him since.

So what happened? Because this angry man wasn't the person Itzal had left to find his own way all that time ago. Utterly confused, Itzal held up a hand in a manner to urge him to stop and calm down. "I didn't do anything. I just arrived here myself. I received a message from a friend." He said, looking left and right with a look of concern, though FearX wouldn't be able to see it past the black mist. "However.... I'm concerned now that I've yet to find him. And even moreso to find you here, more confused than I am..." He lowered his hand and relaxed, showing no aggression or ill intent with his body language. Despite how edgy his armor looked, body language could nullify the aura he gave off.... Assuming FearX was in a state to notice. "Look. Why don't we find out what's going on together? We can either split up or travel together as we search this place. Or you can leave and I'll scout the place. The exit is that direction. Just make a right, head down the hall three doors and turn left."

  19. It was one of his off days. Player killing activity had plummeted recently, and as word of his actions spread less and less solo killers began actually going through with their plans. He decided to walk through the dense forests, or even jungles, of the sixth floor as he had a long time ago. This time however it was far more dense, and the culture and lore of the floor was very thick. Aldion being a raven, while not enjoying the thick humidity, was quite capable of adapting and simply took to flying around and explore the floor with Itzal. while Aldion was gliding through the branches, Itzal was busy laughing with an old NPC friend he known a long while back. She wasn't as detailed and not as high-grade intelligence as other NPCs he knew, but she was high enough where they could have legitimate conversations with one another, and not the default preset dialogues. It was times like this, where he was relaxed, calm, and at peace. An old friend reminded him about how he needed to ensure he kept Are and Itzal separate when he relaxed, so he'd been wearing his casual day clothes more and more often. Only when he was off duty that is. As Itzal and the girl talked about the last time he'd caused a ruckus here his menu pulled something up. "One second Rianna." She smiled and nodded, gesturing for him to proceed. He opened up the message, and his smile faltered somewhat when he saw the name. Morgenstern... Jonathan... The two of them were the best of friends this world could offer. They were two of the four founding members of the guild Celestial Ascendants. But a lot happened since that fateful day...

Itzal had heard the rumors. Players that left dirt behind always had it picked up by the brokers. Players had all sorts of information on Are, but he was very careful to avoid any of that information being leaked to himself. To the point where even when he was going home, he would teleport to a random floor first, slink into the shadows, change equipment while hidden and then whisper his teleportation back to his real home. His house, not the floor. He got rumors on Morgenstern, but as Itzal. Are had nothing to do with it... From what he could tell, especially in the boss raids, his friend didn't want to kill. It seemed as his friend was having guilt eating away at him. Even still. He knew he had to confront him about it sometime. And now his old friend was asking him to come to their old guildhall. The location where their guildmates were attacked, apprentices slaughtered, and their guild fell to pieces. Taking a deep shaking breath, his old memories flooded back into him. For a second he wondered if he could even stand for much longer when he felt a hand gingerly lay on his shoulder, snapping his attention to the side. He looked into Rianna's greenish brown eyes as she gave an awkward, yet comforting smile. "You ok?" Itzal let out a slow breath, his shoulders relaxing as he figuratively exhaled the stress. That wouldn't help him here. "Yeah... I think I will be... I just, need to visit an... Old friend. From a time long forgotten." She nodded and punched him on the shoulder, knowing he couldn't feel anything and gave a quiet laugh. "Alright. I'm not going anywhere, so. Come by and visit again ok? And... Be careful alright? The jungle's been getting more dangerous lately. I heard rumors of some dark green lizard terrorizing the depths of this place." While intrigued by what could potentially be the plot hook of a quest, he simply nodded. "I will. Have a good day Rianna." He said and walked away from the carved path. Once he was out of eyesight, he changed his armor to his black armor and whistled for Aldion to return. The second he landed on his shoulder, Itzal pulled out a teleport crystal.

    "Teleport: Coral."

    Divider.jpg

It didn't take very long for the rogue scout to reach his destination. Even with the vast changes made to these floors the plot was still where it had always been. At least on a general scale. In addition he'd been taking the time to try and catch up on the landscape and try to memorize it's pathways once more. There were a few changes, but those weren't really that interesting to him. What had interested him was the fact that the guild hall was still there... Literally. It was like a ruin he was walking up to, like some sort of dungeon players could enter and clear with a backstory behind it. But that wasn't the part that shocked him. Nope. Being the logical, reasoning person he was, what really bugged him was how on earth the guild hall could still be here when they lost the rights to the property the second the guild disbanded. He could have sworn it was stripped of all property and reduced to a blank plot of land once again. Despite this, he was forced to acknowledge that he was somehow mistaken. Standing at the base of the steps leading up to the guildhall, he took it in. Seeing the building in it's current state lowered an ancient weight on his shoulders for a brief moment. The hardships of teaching. The pain of watching those students either commit suicide, go missing, become murderers, or get killed themselves in front of him. The guilt of at least being part of the reason those innocents were murdered in the first place. And the emotional weight as he remembered all those he had lost. This weight didn't last long however, as he had come to accept the past by now. Instead of dwelling on those memories, he thought of all the new ones he'd made, and how he was honoring their memory by living his life as much as he could, and preventing more deaths to the best of his ability. Feeling strength return to his limbs... He walked up the steps and into the guild hall.

  21. Itzal was satisfied... Partially that is.

He'd finally crafted perfect masterpieces. Specifically two of them. One support and one debuff. With these as well as the two rare masterpieces, once again one support and one debuff, he believed he was ready to open the shop again.. Later. He was tired after all. And he could always craft a few more items for when he went out to do monster grinding to gather loot and col, as well as dungeons and quests to gather all of their rewards. With those he'd need healing songs, debuff songs, and songs to increase monster drop chances.

  22. Returning to his shop once again, he decided to try today what he had the day before: playing his songs slightly different but not so different that it became a different song. Slightly different pitches here and there, louder intros, and so forth. It was proving harder for him to do today though. Part of him just wasn't as up to it as he hoped he would be. It was unfortunate, but that was the case. He began to play his songs until he'd used up all of the system's available crafting attempts. Once he'd finished, he hung his guitar up and went to bed.

  23. Today Itzal decided to experiment a little bit. He wanted to see how far he could change the songs without them sounding too far from what he had intended the song to be. Unfortunately as a result, he didn't get many perfect consumables, and none of them were perfect. He did get some good results though, and managed to make one that was in fact unique while remaining along the same song. While he wasn't able to craft as much as before, he was able to salvage most of the materials at least, so while he didn't get perfect masterpieces, he'd call today a success.

  24. Patience worked out in the end. Patience, and a lot of practice that is. He did get rusty after all. However he was incredibly comfortable now as he sat on his porch chair, his guitar in his lap, as he played one cord after another. Even if it was the same old music and song he'd been making the last few days, and that it was him who was playing it, it was rather relaxing for him to hear it aloud. He hummed to the tune and it gradually got better and better... Until he was just so relaxed that he messed up on a few. Either way, he ended up falling asleep on the chair.

  25. He had sword art skins for when he came out of stealth, when he stabbed his opponent, slashed at them, or even just smacking them on the back of the head with the butt of his sword. He had sword art skins for when he did complex moves, simplistic moves, feints and all sorts of other combinations. He looked it up and found that if one had a chosen familiar mastery activated, there were more sword art skins available. In fact, each skill that could be used in an attack added to the skin list. The sheer number astounded Itzal when he really thought about it. He wondered how long Kayaba had been working on that particular part of the system... Turning to Aldion he used his imagination to view a scenario where the two of them were activating one such skin. Maybe with the grappling mastery for him, where Aldion pins down his target, then Itzal leaps into the sky before thrusting his blade downward into his foe with a crimson flash of light. He chuckled at the corniness of this thought, but he enjoyed it. And that's what mattered right? His search skill rang, indicating an object falling down at him. He reached up and grabbed it before it hit his head. An apple? He smiled as he pocketed the material. He took that as a yes.
