  2. Day 5

Yukiro began the forging process. It took patience to wait for the metal to heat up, but he didn't mind too much. The fires were almost mesmerizing. So much so that he only barely got the items out of the fire in time. Thus, the forging process began. Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! The noise of the hammer hitting the anvil was so loud you could hear it outside the shop. With every blow the metal changed and altered in shape, slowly creating something that resembled a finished piece of work. With a final blow, the outcome was revealed. Yukiro wiped the sweat of his brow as he stepped away from the anvil.

  3. He wasn't gonna lie; this was exciting, disappointing, and overwhelming all at the same time. What should he do? A situation where he wasn't actually improving was... less than ideal... but at the same time, he couldn't exactly refuse a request. He couldn't ask for a reward either.
    Chivalry is a massive pain.
Yukiro took in a deep breath and let out a big sigh (only made bigger by his large lungs). "I suppose I have no reason to refuse. Cordelia, I accept and appreciate your offer," he turned towards Elio, "That is not intended to put any pressure on you to join, you have my apologies if I have done so."
Despite all his suspicions towards the rich girl (would princess be appropriate?) and borderline pity for the shy Elio, Yukiro had to admit he was at least a little excited about joining a party.
Even if he wouldn't actually be doing anything. Though this was a good chance to scope out a high-level player's abilities.
"I shall follow you wherever you lead me. As long as I don't endanger myself to much, at least."

  5. Yukiro blinked at the newcomer. She was about a foot shorter than him but seemed to think she commanded a presence that would compel him to obey.
She did not have a presence that would compel him to obey.

In fact, her superior attitude and superiority actually made Yukiro see her as maybe a little weak-spirited. Though maybe he was being to quick to judge. She didn't look all that powerful, but in a world based on numbers, looking weak was meaningless.

He assumed she was simply struggling to ask him, and the other player next to him, to join her. She seemed like the tsundere type. He wanted to ask who she was, but he couldn't ignore the player next to him. Should he introduce himself? Nothing better came to mind.

"Er, sorry. My name is Juni--" he nearly said his actual name. That's what I get for avoiding interaction for a year, I suppose. "Yukiro. May I ask who you both are?" There. Now he could speak more freely. "Also, pardon my bluntness, but why do you need us to accompany you?"

Yukiro eyed the rotting corpse, simultaneously pondering how to fight the more unpredictable enemy and thinking about the other important details.
This thing smells bad. Its reach isn't very far. Why is it missing half it's face? Right, rotting corpse. Will it take much damage? It should, right?
Yup. Important details. Nothing he can simply pass off as pointless information.
He had been dodging and weaving away from the zombie. Its attacks didn't seem like a massive deal. Yukiro was less sure about its defenses. He could recall the popular culture zombies; they seemed resistant to any form of death and worse, they were almost unkillable by means of hacking them apart.
Taking a large, heavy swing at the zombie, Yukiro struck true, his sword cutting through the undead's fleshy midsection. Glancing at his foe's HP bar, he was surprised to see it had gone down.
Only by the tiniest amount. It barely took any damage at all.
This was going to take a while.

Yukiro carefully watched the zombie as it slowly shambled towards him. He wasn't sure how strong to assume it was, but considering it was some sort of event creature, it was safe to say it would be stronger than anything he'd faced thus far. Mostly because he hadn't yet fought anything that powerful yet. Mostly boars.
He cautiously approached the corpse, making sure to glance around to make sure nothing was going to jump out at him. Finally getting tired of waiting, he leaned forward and activated his sword art, making a wide, sweeping swing at it as he lunged towards it. The zombie teetered away from the swipe, causing the attack to miss it just barely. Seemingly in response to the attack, it swung its arm in a wide arc at Yukiro. Was it trying to attack him? If so, it's attempt was a little sad. But I can't be sure. It may surprise me yet. Don't get cocky.

  9. Yukiro turned as he heard a loud clatter. It seemed that an odd character stood up very abruptly, causing his drink to spill. The liquid broke into small, crystalline fragments that dispersed in the air. Yukiro paused, considering his options.
The player seemed like he was very frustrated, and it seemed like he was only getting more so. He could just leave. No, that wouldn't be very heroic of him. Perhaps he could do something to help..?
He looked around for a waiter and, upon finding one, he approached and asked,
"Can I get one hot chocolate and one cup of water at his table, please?" He asked, pointing the table the boy was standing at.
The waiter nodded and went off to get his order. Yukiro glanced back as the player and mustered up his willpower. He turned and slowly walked towards the somewhat smaller boy. He stopped at his table and softly cleared his throat.
"May I get you a drink?"

    Yukiro: HP 80 | EN 8 | DMG 5 | EVA 3 | MIT 18 | REG 1

Yukiro wanted to simply rush in and start to hack away at the zombies, but he had to be cautious. He wasn't sure how powerful they might be. It would be best to single out one and test it so I can start to decide how to fight this...
Some of the zombies were wearing bits of armor. Maybe he'd want a boost of sorts... Yukiro headed to the concession stand and ordered a Funnel cake (flinching a bit at the cost). According to the food stand's chart, this should allow him to cleave through their armor better.
    -1000 col
Yukiro ate the funnel cake as quickly as he could, wanting to jump into the fray. The somewhat simple combat others were using involved using a sword skill then avoiding damage to prepare for another.A hit and run tactic, of sorts. It seemed effective.
Yukiro. He.slowly and carefully moved to a place where not much could get to way. A zombie began targeting him, stumbling only slightly faster than he though it would on it's path towards him.
    "So it begins."

  14. Always late to the party, Yukiro ranted. He'd only just seen the poster and figured he should see what was so interesting. It has to be worth seeing if it's gonna cost me something.
He didn't bother running. It probably wasn't terribly important anyway. It's just a circus act, not a raid or special event or something.
So why did he feel so uneasy? What was it about this specific thing that made him decide to go check it out?
It was obvious when he got there.
Undead were running rampant. Players were fighting, some for sport and others for their life. NPCs were being slaughtered. Everything he stood for was being dishonored right before his eyes.
There was only one thing he could do.
He dashed to what appeared to be a concession stand, presumably selling healing items. He scanned the list of products.
"I'll take 10 spider cider, one popcorn, and two energy drinks!" he declared loudly, paying as he spoke.
It was time to enter the battle.

  15. Day 1

Yukiro shook himself off and prepared to start the forging process. All he needed to do was use fire and force to create a usable weapon out of raw ores. No sweat.
This is how I'm gonna go broke.
Not that he could do much anyways. He might as well remain open so long as he could sell something, though. Never know who might need what. Shaking himself off, he picked up his hammer and began to forge.

Yukiro began the forging process. It took patience to wait for the metal to heat up, but he didn't mind too much. The fires were almost mesmerizing. 16. Yukiro was sitting on a bench in the Town of Beginnings, just watching people walk and wander around. He was feeling melancholic again, he didn't know why. And on such a nice day too.
Maybe I should go eat or something... He considered his options. Normally he'd just head out of town to go fight something, but for some reason, he simply wasn't feeling the urge. He watched the players and NPCs walk around town, some in groups that were laughing and jostling around.
I wonder what it's like to be in a party... He shook off the thought. Better to not dwell on such things.
He was starting to brood again. He needed to do something to clear his mind. Equipping his favorite piece of equipment, the Nightmare Overcoat (for no reason other than he liked it), Yukiro stood up and stretched his tall frame, and began to make his way towards a small, generally unoccupied cafe. Perhaps something to eat would help.

"I should go and practice later today," he muttered to himself.

The Town of Beginnings; the place from which everyone starts, and the place to which everyone eventually returns. It's pleasant aura and naturally adventurous feel makes almost any player feel right at home. Despite a seemingly simple layout, it is in fact a labyrinth in disguise. The number of intersecting paths and alleyways one can take is mind-bending, and that's before you consider the very real possibility of getting hopelessly lost. For those that do, however, hidden treasures tend to appear. Taverns and shops can be found within the many paths; one such place is The Lucky Armament, a relatively small and humble smithy found in a dark, narrow alleyway. A sign bearing the armory's name hangs above a plain wooden door, beyond which one can find a room with walls seemingly made of racks for weapons of varying shapes and sizes. A forge and anvil are plain to see in the back corner of the room.
As you enter a tall young adult looks up from a small cot near the anvil. Quickly standing up he greets you:
"Welcome to Lucky Armament. What is it you need?"

  18. It wasn't until early in the morning that Yukiro woke up. Once his body started to become active again he quickly regained consciousness. His family had a military-like sleeping schedule, so waking up almost instantly was no issue. He shook his head a bit and stood up, shaking off the remaining tiredness. Taking a deep breath, he evaluated how he felt.
Not tired. Don't need sleep anymore.
Not hungry. Don't need food anymore.
My mind is clear. My body feels light.
    Seems like I've recovered.

Yukiro took a moment to decide what to do now that he was ready and able.
Oh, right. I need to deliver that package to... a blacksmith. He was on the main road out of the Town of Beginnings...
Yukiro scaled the wall which lead to a road just barely larger than an alleyway. He found it much easier to climb it than he remembered. That was probably because he wasn't overtired anymore.
Walking down the path towards the main road Yukiro saw some players who were out wandering around. Some were walking to or from an inn, others were gathering in groups. Some were opening shops or heading out of town. The morning light was just creeping over the city, warming the chilly air. In the new light it was almost easy to find the Lyle's workshop. All he had to do now was deliver. He pulled the package from his inventory and opened the door.
"Pardon me! I have a delivery for Lyle!"

  19. An easy way to tell that Yukiro is running out of energy is that he tends to think out loud and become more talkative.

Upon exiting Zackariah's workshop, Yukiro began to think about what he should do about his lack of food.
"I need to find a way to get food. Perhaps that tailor's shop... No, it would be rude to demand food of someone else. Is there somewhere I can buy food? I don't have much money to spend, but I'd rather spend some col than go broke."
As he pondered aloud, he walked back to the city center of the Town of Beginnings. He was somewhat off-balance but paid it no mind.
"I suppose I should find a place to eat," he concluded in his most intelligent statement yet.

After a lot of searching, he managed to find a restaurant of sorts. He ordered vast quantities of food, hardly bothering to breathe as he simply devoured everything put in front of him. after nearly fifteen minutes of non-stop gorging himself, Yukiro could honestly say he'd recovered from his hunger plight.
Problem was, he was still lacking significant sleep and needed to find a place to rest. Being uncomfortable wasn't a problem, but he did need somewhere relatively out of the way.
After a fair amount of searching, he found what looked like a walled-off alleyway. It took a small amount of difficulty, but Yukiro managed to get over the wall and found a walled off area inside it. It was unsheltered and somewhat small (a four by four-foot square), but it should serve as an adequately safe place to nap. Yukiro curled down inside the small prison and almost immediately drifted off to sleep.

  20. Yukiro was set to leave. Zackariah had given him several potions of three varying effects, though he kept the one Yukiro made.
"It is one that I would like to put up for sale," he replied when Yukiro asked why he wanted to keep the potion. Such a compliment was hard to refuse, and Yukiro let him keep the potion.
It was finally time to rest. As Yukiro moved to open the door, however, he heard Zackariah's voice.
"Forgive me if it interrupts anything, but would you mind taking this package to Lyle Tealeaf? He's a resident blacksmith, his smithy should be on the main road out of town," he continued, "I'm simply to busy to take it to him at the moment."
Yukiro wanted to turn him down, he was so extremely tired. But he couldn't refuse such a request. "I shall do it, though it may not be immediate," he offered.
Zackariah smiled. "Of course. Thank you very much for all your help." He said, giving Yukiro the package. Yukiro placed it in his inventory (though he was unsure how that made any sense). With another farewell, Yukiro left Zackariah's workshop.

Used (5) quest materials to craft (1) T1 Healing Potion (not kept)

Yukiro opened the door to Zackariah's small brewery. The old man looked up from a small vial he was holding.
"Ah, welcome back. You were so quick I hardly had the time to make any potions," he greeted in a somewhat soothing voice.
Yukiro nodded to the man. "I hope that is good," he replied, opening the menu he had only figured out how to use on the way there and handed the elderly NPC the five small plants.
Zackariah took the blossoms and examined them closely. "You brought some fine ingredients, my friend," he remarked, turning towards a small mortar and pestle. As he went to place the items in the mortar he paused and turned back to Yukiro. "Would you like to learn how to create potions?"
Yukiro had a double-take. Was there more to the quest? Best not risk it. "It would be my pleasure," he accepted. Zackariah stepped away from the table, crowded with instruments for making potions, and handed Yukiro the herbs.
"It's a simple but often difficult process," he started. Yukiro began to sway a little. Zackariah smiled and continued. "First, place the herbs in the mortar and grind them into a paste."
Yukiro followed his directions. It wasn't long before the plants had transformed into a fine, green substance.
"Next, scrape the paste into a beaker. use the one with the translucent green liquid-- yes, that's the one."

Using a special scraper of sorts Yukiro transferred the paste into the vial. The two substances began to intermingle.
"Now lightly shake the vial side to side. Careful, we don't want any to splash out."
The paste began to dissolve in the greenish, watery liquid. As they fused, a deep green liquid only a touch thicker than water began to form.
When the two liquids had fully mixed, Zackariah gave another instruction, "Now simply pour the potion into the empty container next to the beaker." He guided Yukiro's eyes to the correct bottle. After Yukiro poured the liquid in, it glowed for just a moment before returning to normal.
    "Is it done?"
Zackariah took the bottle and examined it. "Hmm... I must say, it's not bad. Congratulations on such a success on your first try," he congratulated Yukiro.
Yukiro gave a slight smile. Zackariah was making him feel brighter if only a little.

  22. Yukiro moved much slower than he would had he been at his best level of performance. He wasn't sure if moving slowly would conserve energy, but it was certainly worth a try. He took long detours to avoid any combat, which was difficult due to the sheer number of boars in the area. He even had to hide for a while when a party of players showed up to fight boars.
Interaction at this point will only end badly. Besides, it would make me more aware of my sleep deprivation and food situation.
After quite some time, he made it to the walls surrounding the Town of Beginnings. It irritated him that it took so long, but he didn't have the energy to be upset. He slowly made his way through the town of beginnings towards the only alleyway he was familiar with; the alleyway where Zackariah was waiting for him to deliver the necessary plants. Yukiro was ready to be done.

Yukiro dug through the many plants and flowers in the garden. He was lucky that no mobs seemed to be coming close to the place.
Though maybe there is a reason for that...
    Nah.

Eventually, Yukiro managed to unearth a small plant. It's spiraling form was dotted with yellow buds that were just in the process of flowering. With a sigh of relieve he took the item in his hand and gently tugged it out of the soft dirt. The item was in his hand for only a moment before it glowed and vanished, having automatically added itself to his inventory.
Yukiro took a moment before slowly rising to his feet. After all this time, he could go and finish the quest. He needed to hurry. The lack of food was going to reach a critical point soon enough. So was his lack of sleep. The faster he moved, the sooner he'd be able to support his needs.
