  1. Silver nodded when Gladio mentioned that progressing in the game was like busy work. In fact, now that she thought about it, it was as if her only job was to kill things and gather to finally get a chance at escaping. It was more of forced busy work in the end. Like they were slaves to the game. She frowned when he mentioned "unfortunate events". "I'm sorry to hear that," she said sympathetically. She sighed and then looked back up at the man, continuing to listen.

    When he mentioned cooking as a sort of hobby outside of his real life, she laughed. "Well that's one talent you have that I don't," she joked. "The most "fancy" thing I know how to make is a cup of noodles with a poached egg on top." She laughed nervously. "Yeah, I was always a much better gamer than a cooker." Then he asked what she liked to do in the real world, she had to think for a few moments. Outside of video games, there wasn't really much she liked to do... well except for one thing.

    She kind of giggled nervously before answering. "Well... I did like to go out to karaoke bars with friends or by myself to de-stress." She rubbed the back of her head and smiled. "Yeah. I know. Quite odd."

  2. "So, where to?" Koga asked.

    Brianne thought for a moment and then pulled up the quest information on her display. "Hm," she mumbled as she looked over the text in front of her. "It seems like our best bet is going down the north path out of town. The quest says that the dark elf should be located by a wooden shack along the path." She tapped the large X at the edge of the quest pop-up and closed it. Then she turned her attentions back to her companion and smiled. "Well, there's no time like the present," she chirped cheerfully as she led the way down the dirt path leading out of the town.

    While walking, Brainne thought of what to talk about. Walking in silence tended to make her feel awkward after all. After a few more moments of thinking about what she should say, she finally settled on, "So, what's the first thing you plan on doing once you get out of the game?" An optimistic question indeed.

    @Koga

  3. Brianne quickly turned her attention towards where Koga had motioned. A small wooden shop stood where he had gestured, the sound of the clanking of metal yelling through the open door. She nodded, her gaze still turned towards the blacksmith's shop, as she continued to listen to Koga. "Hopefully we can finish this quest quickly and easily then!" she said enthusiastically as she looked back at the man in front of her. A broad smile was spread across her lips.

    Looking back towards the shop, she led the way through the door and up to the counter. Once inside, she could see that the blacksmith was hard at work hammering a red-hot sword on an anvil in the middle of the shop. A large pit surrounded by bricks and filled with coal was located to the blacksmith's right. This was where he put the piece of metal he was working on (deep into the coals) when he realized he had visitors.

    "Why hello there!" his booming voice echoed to the pair of players in front of him. "What I can help you two with?"

    Brianne quickly approached the bearded, large man. "Well, I heard you make armor for beginning players like me," she said, smiling hopefully up at the older gentleman. "I was wondering if you could make me a suit of silver heavy armor."

    The older blacksmith set down his hammer and pondered for a second, resting his chin on an open palm of a hand as she thought. After a few moments of silence, he answered. "Hm, yes... I think I know just what you need to get in order for me to make this request," he said while quickly grabbing a paper and pencil from the back of his shop. He wrote down a small list of materials to make the set of armor. "Now, these shouldn't take too long for you to gather, but it won't be so simple to gather the materials either. You see, a dark elf broke into my shop a few nights ago and stole these and a bit of other materials from my shop. I would like you to retrieve these materials from the elf." He gave her the list and smiled down at her expectantly.

    Brianne's eyes scanned the list quickly and then looked back up at the man. "Of course! I'll get these for you right away!" she said happily.

    @Koga

  4. "Then I will allow you to join me for this quest," the man said. Brianne took his haute and rude response as a joke. She laughed. "You're quite the funny one," she said, smiling up at him.

    A light ping sound was heard as a notification appeared on the upper left side of her display.

    "Notification: Party Invitation from Asheall" flashed in front of her eyes. She quickly clicked on the notification window, which brought up another display. She clicked "Accept" on the new prompt in front of her. Then she focused her attention back on the blond man in front of her.

    "Alright. I have all my things packed and ready. Shall we head over to the forest to the North of this town?" she asked politely, an excited smile across her face. This would be her first proper quest -- and hopefully a safe one now that Asheall accompanied her.

    @Asheall

  5. "I am Asheall. Try to remember it," the man said.

    Silver smiled and nodded. "It's quite a unique name. I doubt I'll have difficulty remembering it." She usually forgot most people's names, but she would do her best to remember his this time.

    "Now then. What were you wanting?"

    "Oh, right!" Silver exclaimed, remembering why she had approached him. "Well, you see, I'm kind of scared to go out of the safe zone by myself..." she said, laughing nervously and rubbing the back of her head. "And you seem like a strong player, so I was wondering if you would accompany on my first lessons quest." She smiled sweetly up at him. "I can pay for lunch or something like that afterwards as well." She had offered the meal as she didn't want to drag him along without paying him back. And she had the perfect place in mind to take the two of them for lunch. It was a nice little cafe near the North Gate of the Town of Beginnings.

    @Asheall

  6. "I am doing the first lesson, yes. And who exactly is asking me?the man said. Silver noticed that the man hadn't fully turned to look at her. Hm, maybe he has a back or neck problem maybe? she thought to herself, trying to explain the odd behavior. Instead of waiting for him to fully turn to her, she walked up in front of him and cheerfully stuck out her hand. "The name is Brainne. It's a pleasure to meet you!" Her eyes and face were absolutely beaming with happiness at meeting a new potential friend. This was due in part to her bubbly attitude and the fact that she was still quite oblivious to the man's attitude. Maybe he was just grumpy or something or was having a bad day.

    As she stood there, ready to shake his hand, she had unequipped her rapier so that it didn't get in the way and accidentally poke the man.

    @Asheall

  7. Silver overheard a man's voice approaching as she changed the display colors in front of her from blue, to purple, to pink. She looked up as she saw a blond man approaching the job board. "Oh, hello there!" she called out to him while standing up from her seat. "You wouldn't happen to be doing the first lessons quest as well, would you?" she asked hopefully, looking up at him with a large smile on her face.

    Luckily (and unluckily) for Silver, she was usually oblivious to other's negative moods. So she didn't even notice the young man's bad mood as he stood in front of her grumbling to himself. While she waited for him to answer, she took a good look at him, looking up and down. He did seem quite handsome indeed with his blond hair going along nicely with his black and gold jacket. She also noticed that he walked quite tall and proud.

    @Asheall

  8. Silver stood by the job boar in the middle of the Town of Beginnings once more, waiting for another player to walk up so she could ask them if they would accompany her. She was still afraid to venture out alone outside of the safe zone, so having another player with her would make her feel a bit safer. She was wearing her silver full suit of armor with angel wings emblazoned on the front of her chest plate. A red one-handed rapier rested against her right shoulder, resting there until needed.

    After a few moments of waiting, Silver decided to sit on the bench next to the board, her legs getting tired from standing for a while. While waiting, she went through the menus on her display, testing out what she could change and alter in the settings area. She was soon fully absorbed in changing the color of her display and stats, becoming distracted and distanced from reality.

  9. Silver saw another player approach the job board and quickly hopped to her feet. The other player's attire contrasted deeply with her own. Silver wore a full set of silver armor that had a set of angel's wings engraved on the front. She approached the player from behind and gently tapped them on the shoulder. "Um, excuse me, but if you're not busy, would you mind helping me on a quest? I would like to do the Nature's Treasures quest, but I'm well..." She blushed and scratched the back of her head with her hand. "I'm a bit afraid to go off by myself at this low of a level." Silver laughed nervously and then remembered that she had forgotten something quite important: an introduction. Her eyes opening in realization and surprise, she held out her hand and said, "Oh, right! I forgot to introduce myself. Silly me. I am Brianne, and I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to this game."

    @Andromeda

  10. Silver stood next to the job board in the center of the Town of Beginnings. "Huh, strange," she muttered to herself as she saw the Nature's Treasure quest. It seemed to be a casual day quest where the goal was to gather materials to your heart's content. She smiled and clicked accept on the quest. It seemed a great way for her to find some loot and level up all at the same time. However, after accepting the quest, she realized that there were still beasts on this floor that could hurt her. She bit her lip and thought for a moment, an idea popping into her head. It occurred to her that she had seen other low level players like herself wait by the job board and ask higher level players if they could accompany them as a means of protection. She smiled and quickly took a spot on a bench a few feet to the side of the job postings. There she sat for a short while as she waited for another player to come along. Then she would approach them and ask if they would please accompany her. She hummed a lilting tune as she waited.

    @Andromeda

  11. "Is that supposed to be a play on the Silver Surfer?Koga said. Brianne blushed and stammered, "H-hey, I was into comics and super heroes at that age." She couldn't help but laugh at herself. It was true. She had tried to make her username reference the alien super hero.

    When she appeared on the third floor, she quickly looked around, amazed at the sudden change of location. Then she heard Koga say, "We'll get out of here. One day.She looked over to him and smiled weakly. "Yeah. I'm sure we will," she said quietly. It wasn't as if Brianne didn't believe that a player would beat the game one day or that she didn't believe it was possible, she had just seen so many friends and followers die on these floors that she didn't like to be too optimistic about leaving this world. Hopefully others could escape, but she didn't dare hope that she ever would. She didn't want to get her own hopes up like that.

    @Koga

  12. "A streamer, huh? That seems like a pretty slick gig. What was your handle, maybe I've heard of you? Hell maybe I watched you too...I'm terrible with faces sometimes."

    Brianne perked up as Koga began to show interest in her profession. "It was quite a fun job once I got through all the tough times. My handle was the_Silver_Streamer." She laughed at the name. "I made it when I was 14 or 15, so it's not the most catchy or professional handle, but it did its job. I ended up moving to Los Angeles, California, and falling in with some regular streamers. In fact, I was even on a sports team for the last League of Legends try-outs. I made it as runner-up, so I didn't get to make it to the big leagues, but I was hoping to make it into the pro teams this next year..." Her eyes went dull for a moment as she was brought back to the reality she was stuck in. There were no more try-outs. She was stuck in a death game. Oh, right. We're still trapped here, she reminded herself. As soon as her eyes darkened, they became bright again and her normal smile appeared back on her lips.

    She realized that they had reached the teleporter. "Alright then, I'll see you on the other side. Teleport, Delilah!Koga said as they entered the teleporter and were wisked away to the third floor. "Oh, right..." Silver muttered as she was left alone again. She quickly ran up to the teleporter and jumped on it. "Delilah," she said clearly, immediately being taken to the third floor.

  13. "You know, you shouldn't really ask people about their real lives here. At least, not until you get to know them better,"

    Brianne blushed and quickly apologized. "I'm sorry. I know that sometimes I am too open or forward. I will try to watch my questions in the future." Then he answered her question. "College, huh? That sounds fun!" She thought about how much she should tell the man about her life. Well, he had been open with her, so she might as well be open with him. It was only fair. "Well, I was a streamer before I was trapped in this game. In fact, I was streaming as I was trapped in here," she said, laughing nervously and rubbing the back of her head as she finished speaking. "I usually don't tell most people as I was pretty popular back in the real world in America. I don't really want everyone fan-girling over me in game, ya know?"

    Then he asked if she was ready to go up to Delilah. She double checked her gear before nodding and replying, "Yep! I'm all set!"

    @Koga

  14. "Why don't you send me a party invite too. That way you can accept the quest and all that good stuff."

    "Oh! You're right," Silver said as she brought up the menu on her display. Let's see... where is it? she thought to herself as she searched through the different iconsAh! Found it! she sent the party invite to Koga. "Aaand sent!" she said cheerfully.

    While they walked along to your destination Silver asked Koga, "So, what did you do before this game trapped us here?" She wasn't trying to be rude -- it was just that she didn't quite understand most social boundaries quite yet. She was a bubbly and happy personality that was oblivious at times.

    For the past two years, Silver had been staking out in the Town of Beginnings. Many of the players she had befriended in the beginning of the game had perished, which had kept her from adventuring. But she had finally grown tired of just hiding. She decided to go out and stand her ground and try to see if any of her followers were still alive.

    @Koga

  15.  "I'm guessing your looking to be a tank right? Well, I do know of one quest you could take. It's called 'Worn Out Welcome', up on the third floor. You get some armor at the end of it, but its not really stronger than what you got now. The real boon would be getting the Exp. That sound good to you? I can eat the damage for the most part, and just help you whittle down the enemies so you can last hit," the man had said.

    Silver enthusiastically replied, "Oh, yes! That would be lovely. And thank you for helping me out. I actually want to become a tanky healer of sorts, so all the exp is welcomed." She thought for a moment, checking over her armor enhancements. "Oh, and if you actually let them hit me, my thorn enchantment should allow me to take a good amount of their health out." She took a second look at the quest he had mentioned. "Ah and with my mitigation and healing, I probably shouldn't have a high chance of dying," she said cheerfully. Maybe a little too cheerfully. She looked at Koga expectantly. "So, would you like to do the honors of leading the way?" she asked, a smile on her lips.

    @Koga

  16. Silver had been walking up to the ask the man if he'd like a partner to come with him on the quest. However, right as she was about to touch his shoulder to get his attention, he turned around and rushed into her. She stumbled back just like he did, grabbing her forehead. "Oww, you really do have a hard head. I'll give you that," she said, straightening up, and rubbing the tender spot some more. Then she remembered her manners. Sticking out her hand, she introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Brianne!" she said, shaking his hand energetically. "Before you ran into me, I was actually going to ask if you wanted some help with any quests. I'm still a lower level and need some more experience." She then happened to look up at the player's stats. He's level 9?! she thought to herself. Uh, maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

    "Though, now that I look at it, I'm still only level one," she said, sighing. "I don't wish to be a burden, but if you would allow me to tag along for experience, that would be lovely." The girl was dressed in white, form fitting armor with her spear leaning against her shoulder.

  17. "The name's Gladiator, however some when this game first started called me Gladio for short, so you can call me Gladio instead, whats yours?"

    Silver looked over, smiling. "You may call me Silver for now. I don't usually give out my real name for certain reasons." She gave a slight bow as she introduced herself.

    "Sweet progress eh, feels good?

    "It does feel good. I just hope that I keep this same string of luck going. I've heard that some players stop progressing due to the strenuousness of the first few beginner quests. I heard they can get quite redundant." As she spoke, she bent down to look for more materials. The flower she picked burst into pixels. A small smile spread across her lips. "Ah, I knew I couldn't be that lucky." She stood back up and looked back over to Gladio. "So, besides the military, what else did you do in the real world? I know you didn't just train all day."

  18. Upon hearing the "sheltered little princess" comment, Silver's smile turned into a frown. She turned to face him. "I'm not a sheltered little princess, thank you very much. We all go through our own crap. I may not have been in the military like you, but I've gone through my own type of hell," she said, her voice low. Then she cleared her throat, her voice back to its usual chipper self. "Now, would you please follow me to the field?" She did not wait for him to answer. She simply turned on her heal and led the way to the clearing.

    Upon arriving at her destination, she began looking for the flowers, searching for one that wouldn't disappear in her hand. Immediately, she spotted what seemed like a solid material, picking it up. It didn't disintegrate in her hand. She jumped in excitement. "Yes! On my first try, too!" She happily put the material into her inventory and began to look around for more flowers.

  19. Brianne blushed when he asked her why she was still level 1, the embarrassed blush growing even more as he offered to help her. "Well, you see," she started, rubbing her head nervously. "I was too scared to venture out up until now." She looked down, ashamed of her answer, and sighed. "I know it's a ridiculous thing to say especially since I've spent my whole life gaming, but when faced with death once more that was out of my control, I just... froze." She caught herself telling more than she needed to. "Er- I'm sorry! I didn't mean to go on like that," she said, looking back up at him. "And yes, your help would be very much appreciated." She motioned to herself. "As you can see, even a nicely placed boar hit could take me out right now." She laughed nervously. She pointed out the door. "If you would like me to lead, just let me know, but I'm headed to a field to the North of town where I know there's a field of flowers."

    @Gladiator

  20. As she began to leave the shop, she happened to quite literally run into a tall man entering through the doorway. She was pushed back by the force of running into him. Once she had regained her balance she looked up and said, "I am so so sorry! I really didn't mean to run into you. Are you alright?" She took a moment to look the man up and down. Oh. This is A LOT of man, she thought to herself, now blushing. She really hoped he wasn't mad at her for running into him as he looked like he could easily take her out if she ticked him off. She glanced up at his health and stats bar. Oh. Level 39. How wonderful. He could easily squash me like a fly. She began to worry as she waited for him to reply. It was just her luck that on her first day of deciding to adventure, she would run right into the toughest looking guy in town.

    @Gladiator

  21. Brianne jogged over to the NPC alchemist's shop that was marked on her map. Her white breast plate shone bright in the early morning sun, blinding those around her. She happily climbed up the steps and introduced herself to the older NPC inside, "Hello, there! I'm Silver! I'm here to pick up the quest you posted about gathering materials." Her last sentence curved upwards, as though it was nearly a question. She wasn't too sure if she was at the right place.

    "Oh, yes! Thank you for coming, young woman. I need you to gather 5 materials for a potion I'm trying to create. In exchange, I'll treat you how to craft a potion and give you a few rewards. How does that sound?" The old NPC gave her a soft, calm smile.

    Brianne returned the smiled and agreed to take on the quest. "Of course. I'll get them for you right away." She turned to leave the shop.

  22. Silver Star

    knight-warrior-girl-sword-spear-weapons-armor-brunette-red-e.jpg?width=800&height=511

    Username: Silver Star

    Real Name: Brianne Silversteen

    Height: 5’ 8”

    Age: 19 -> now 21

    About:

    Before she became trapped in the game, Brianne was a video game streamer in the real world. She lived in the United States in Los Angeles, where she was able to meet influential gamers and streamers alike. Her career soon skyrocketed as she began to make YouTube videos highlighting her streams and reviewing up and coming video games. This also meant she was opened up to bullying at a young age. In fact, when she was young, she attempted, but luckily failed. Her only close friend at the time called 911, and help made it there in time to save her life. After that, she took a new lease on life.

    Originally, Brianne was from Ohio. She lived in a small town with nothing to do, and when she was snowed in and stayed home from school, she played video games. The first game she ever played with Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo. After that, she bought every new system that came out with the money she had saved from her weekly allowance. At age 16, she began streaming, and at age 18 she moved to California after attempting to take her own life. This move gave her a new outlook. New people, new places to see, and endless possibilities. She decided that she was never going back to Ohio or back to the past. The only way to move was forward, and that's exactly what she did.

    She made connections and eventually was able to beta test online multiplayer games (though usually only the games that debuted in the USA). From there, she became a competitive League of Legends player. Outside of streaming, YouTube, and competitive gaming, she liked to read and go for hikes. Nature was the one thing she missed about back home. In Ohio, there were plenty of trees and animals and open areas. But in LA and the surrounding areas, the air was filled with smog and fires every summer. Every now and then, she'd fly back to Ohio to see the scenery or escape to the coast of California, spending a week or so relaxing.

    When the Nerve Gear came out, Brianne was one of the first people standing in line to buy it. When she got home, she set it up as soon as she could and plugged herself in. Now was her moment to experience something unseen before in the gaming industry... and something deadly.

    Virtues:

    Energetic: Brianne brings energy into the room when she enters it. She always somehow has energy to do more. Be better. Try harder. She adds energy to a team and helps others keep going when they feel like they have nothing left.

    Kind: If someone that Brianne knew was in need or in danger, she would rush right over to help them. She was always happy to be a shoulder for people to lean on as she understands how cruel and harsh the world can be. When her best friend was in danger of taking her life, she stayed on the phone for hours, talking her down from it, and flew over the next day to make sure she was alright.

    Never Gives Up: She will slave over a task even if it takes her hours or even days to complete. She has driven herself to the point of near insanity when trying to finish editing a video or training for the next competition. Sometimes she even forgets to eat or drink for over 12 hours, leaving her in dire conditions at times. But it's all worth it at the end when she accomplishes what she originally set out to do.

    Flaws:

    Scarred: All the bullying and abuse she experienced from a young age has left Brianne unwilling to trust most people. She doesn't let most people get close to her at all, and she only allows a few into her protective little bubble. That being said, if someone does manage to earn her trust, they have it for life. And they better not betray it, or she will make sure they experience the same pain that they caused her...

    Overly-Emotional: Although she is friendly and happy most of the time, she becomes overly-emotional during those times when she is not so happy and bubbly. She becomes sad if she sees a bunny die in a video game (odd that she doesn’t have this reaction when humans die…) or upset if she loses an online competitive match. It takes her a while to get out of a depressed or sad mood if she is in one, but food and hugs always help.

    Over-Competitive: Sometimes Brianne gets way too heated when playing online competitive video games -- this includes SAO. She’s been known to rage and throw things across the room when streaming and losing at League of Legends. Of course, she apologizes for her actions afterwards, but she ends up raging again soon enough.
