  1. His real name just mentioned like it was old news really had Gaius take to a back leg. The bouncing appendages attached to a crab easily dwarfing them all draw his attention. "Hold that thought." Gaius remarks pushing his hand to his sternum and plucking free the sharp green rod that manifests into his weapon: Brionac, the spear of the gods. A turn of his hand and a twirl of it, sees his movements become much more fluid and graceful. A swipe of a leg as it cleaves through clean, like a propeller it reverberates around his body. Another turn and it rears back the other way, cutting away at its opponent like a hot razor. The thing rears away from the whirling steel, trying to avoid further harm as the dragoon looks to the woman:

    "How long have you known my name?" he'd ask trying to follow her imposed rules.

    "I have always known your name." The woman would reply in more of her quizzical styled answers

    "I didn't tell anyone in here my real name." He'd rebuke, searching his memories for when he'd let it slip.

    "Correct, times up." As a giant crab claw cuts the space between them.

    • Tough Shell: This monster’s MIT and ACC cannot be reduced, and it remains unaffected by Incarcerate, Paralysis and Freeze effects.
    • Too Large: Familiars’ Grappling Skill cannot be used to stun the boss. Only normal stuns will work on it as a result of SAs or skills being used, and they will have a 4 turn cooldown.
    • Pincer Attack: Sand’s Claw will attack two times during its turn, targeting the player with the highest hate, and then the player with the second highest hate. Perform one attack roll for each attack.
    • Sand Cloud: Upon rolling CD 9+ and LD 10+ during one of its attacks, the boss will instead raise a cloud of sand from the beach, lowering each player’s ACC by -1 for their next two turns. This effect does not stack and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    • King’s Grip: On an MD 10, Sand’s Claw will lower the target’s MIT by 15 for the next two turns. This effect stacks up to two times, and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    • Bubble Spray: On an MD 10 and CD 6+, Sand’s Claw will instead hit the entire party for 125 unmitigated DMG, lowering every player’s EVA by 1 for two turns. This effect does not stacked and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    • Gobble Up: If the boss’ health reaches 2000, on its next turn it will skip its attack and start eating rocks. It must be hit with 3 or more Delay SAs until its next turn, otherwise it will expend it on healing 1000 HP. This can only occur once per battle.
    • Soft Skin: Once afflicted with Bleed, the effect will not wear off for the remainder of the battle.
    • Unguarded Sides: Area of Effect attacks consume twice the base energy, but deal 50% (rounded up) more damage.
  2. "Sup?" Gaius barks as he'd meander out next to the woman, not nearly as irked as the others seemed to be. This was a readily accepted break from the constant back and forth in the rolling bite. The tavern to which he lived and worked out of. A booming business that had done a fair job of killing his free time, and it was due to the guild that he was able to find some hired help. Gaius didn't want to get rusty, and these little forays always seemed to lead to a fight or two. A manner of strange places, dangerous places. They were overlooking the bigger picture. If they hadn't been following her as closely as they had, Gaius was convinced that they would have never even had the chance to witness these locations. His blessings counted, he'd look to the woman with a grin. The next was about to begin clearly, that's the reason why she was standing out here.

    Running with the group toward the last task of the day, the skies were clear and there was nothing stopping him from going all out now. Winds around him begin to form and as he gets closer to Ugzeke who looked like he was already having the worst time. Leaping into the air as his newly amped tornado carries him up making it easier to get where he needed to be. Glancing at Brionac who was glowing brighter than ever, it was ready. Gliding through the middle of the almost hurricane now, right toward his target at speeds that he was still no use to. Pulling that weapon up and when he got near pushing it outward. Upon cataclysm impact the entire area goes white, leaving him and his teammate blind and unable to hear anything. When Gaius regains his vision he is standing in a giant ass hole. Shaking his head, he knew this was going to be a huge whammy but this carve in the ground was large enough that he was not sure he was able to get out.

  4. *Optimal Turn Order Change

    Hearing and seeing that lightning strike the last, Gaius could still hear a slight amount of movement in the distance. It was clear that whatever it was, it was still alive. Glancing back down to that spear of his, it was still pulsing. It seemed to be taking longer than most times that he had fought. A grin would peer on his face because that just meant that whatever he hit next was going to have a very bad day. Excited to think that he could do that much damage, it made him happy to know that he was getting better and that maybe now he could fully support Freya and protect her from being harmed in battle. This would have to be tested of course but only time would tell if he was actually ready to take anything on. The heavy freezing winds caused his hair to crisp at the tips, started to feel like he was wearing a helmet.

    It was a bit chilly here but Gaius would focus on the main task… Not exactly sure what that was but his eyes turned toward Brionac that was still only pulsing. Whoever took this next blow was going to be hurting for a long while after. If not hurting then very much dead. The waiting was a bit agonizing but worth the view. Hopefully Freya would be back home when he was. He wanted to get something more in his stomach, helped him focus and as it would seem, Gaius’s stomach was growling again. He could eat a whole animal to himself and probably still be hungry. The creatures around them were pretty weird. Could see through them like glass, not sure if he had seen anything like it. “I need a bit more time” saying as he flips his spear, still not wanting to go up. Not sure they would still be here when he came back down and the last thing he wanted is to be stuck here.

    Gaius couldn’t help but laugh, it was like a high speed chase with SNAIL and hair. Started going down the rabbit hole, what was faster and snail or tortoise. “They are over there, watch out.” It was a bit exaggerated. For some reason it was super funny to him. Eyes turn to Raidou wondering what the next course of action was. Seeing a stare off between him and Nisa. It looked super intense. Curious if he should be interfering. Griswold would kill him if he knew that he was here with Raidou and something happened before the wedding could take place, hell Freya would kill him… He would have the whole family after him. Eruda, that fire, walks to Raidou. Neither of them take eyes off each other. This was something he couldn’t even fathom. All he knew is he didn’t want to die. “Raidou, is everything okay?” Gets into an almost defensive stance when Raidou turns his head ever so slightly over his shoulder to Gaius.

    Few Stragglers: No more than two groups of Sand Dollars can be found in a single thread.

    Seeing the thing trying desperately to get to its feet. It was much harder now that it was missing a fragment from its form. Moving from Raidou to get a better visual, Brionac pulses. They were not ready to take pursuit yet. The tank seemed to have its attention so Gaius didn’t feel the need to go to space today. Trying to figure out the new moves sets that he hadn’t unlocked yet. He would need to make a detailed list when they got home. Also had to make a list of different ingredients that they had been meaning to experiment with. Was learning something everyday about cooking but coming up short using the same old shit just laying around the kitchen. Seeing at the corner of his eye, that white-haired woman walked slowly around the back of him. Gripping his weapon tighter, still was unsure what to think about her. Maybe a time would come that questions could be asked and she wouldn’t just flee.

  8. Standing there getting ready to blast off, Brionic glows bright. “Really, already I was going to” starting to point to the sky, it pulses but stays glowing. Giving a rough sigh, starts running toward the man eating crab. When he gets closer the spear seems to be trying to drag him so Gaius lets go. At mach speed it pierces the thing right in its tiny little face. Sliding to a halt, gripping his weapon and plunging it further into its eye. It reels backward from the man, he uses that to pull Brionac free. Gaius was still learning all manner of new tricks, he couldn’t fathom how much there still was. It was a spear, how many ways were there to dramatically jab a creature. Taking a few steps back created a gap between him and it. Might be able to take the hit but it certainly wouldn’t feel good. Preparing for the worst, Raidou would come out of nowhere, he was now staring at Rai’s back, a small sigh of relief.

  9. Grabbing Brionac, running to the door. Hearing a whistle behind him as he opens the door. Turning as Freya is throwing a steaming Honey Bun his way. Catching it and stuffing it in his mouth as he starts hopping on one foot trying to get his boot on right. Boris chews on his other foot, bouncing up and down as Gaius hops. “Freya can you grab...” before he could finish Freya was already snatching up the fur ball. “Thank you love ya” calling out as he grasps his weapon in his right hand after just juggling it under his arm. They had woken up late, and the woman helped him get out pretty quickly. Running toward the warp pad, breathing a bit heavy as he transitions up. Booking ass toward the crab place, sand crunching with each hefty step. Sliding to a halt, looking at everyone just standing there, counting the people, he was not the last one. A sigh of relief as he finishes putting his boot on right.

    The man would check the horizon, as Nisahime offers words across the room to draw their attention. "Yanno, just how we do." Gaius remarks back before the gravity sinks in, the range of creatures beginning to ooze out of the walls in a horrifying display of being outnumbered in mass. A myriad of skeletal creatures seemed solely focused on them, taking to postures that convey their outrage. "Oh fuck." Gaius would offer in the most sophisticated retelling of the events that he could muster, looking back toward the coming tide and then to the stairs. Clearly they just crashed a party they were not invited to, and there was no telling if they survived even these if more wouldn't simply replace them. Such was the unpredictability of just scampering into the unknown. "I suggest we fuckin' bounce. Or this is going to get ugly." He makes movements for the stairs and keeps his weapon held, securing the exit.

Brionac flourishes up over his right shoulder, and within that very instant it is engulfed in lime green light. It sparks aggressively into a hue so bright it as if the man is holding a star. A cocky grin claims his lips, and a murmur beneath his breath confirms to the system his intentions. His body shifts, his arm ripping down and releasing that held rabid dog. Space seems to fold as the sound barrier is broken, the roar of its movement matched only with the trail of broken air. A clap of thunder however brief as it connects with his opponent, puncturing clean through its back before it would pinned into the floor. A second before it erupts into a sphere of unbridled energy released into a globe of destruction. The creature trapped within vanishes beneath it, and once the smoke clears only the spear would remain.

    Gaius would recoil as Raidou did his best to defend him from a sudden assault. Griswold interposed himself as well, and allowed the dragoon the opportunity to retrieve his weapon. "Thanks." he'd extrude toward the huge tower of plate armor, allowing a gentle breeze to wash over him as Brionac was returned to his hand. A tap of his hand against the smiths back would see his vitality return as that gust would pierce the openings in his armor. With a bit of comfort, his weapon reobtained and no longer under threat, Gaius would look to his next target. Mainly the biggest mother fucker in the room. That taking the shape of a dragon creature made entirely of bone as it swooped in from the structure nearly on the horizon. It seemed as the whole damn place knew they were here, and more importantly wanted them to leave. Brionac would begin to glow, as if signifying its agreement with the guys intentions.

    "Hey" The dragoon offers as a simple glimmer catches his attention. Gaius wanders closer to where it was portrayed a singular post, one of like an unpolished iron. "I think I found something." The dude remarks and he starts to brush his foot, revealing a staircase that was quite readily missed. "You think?" he remarks to the team as his curiosity urges him to dive deeper below. What follows is this intense expanse where it was as if they were standing in some puddle, yet the ground underneath it did nothing more then reflect their own appearance back at them. "What the..?" Gaius murmurs as he looks off, finding a large complex that broke up the odd floor pattern. There were no walls nor ceiling, and even more there didn't seem to be an 'end'. The structure was made of white marble, yet was overgrown with moss.

    Their ability to take it all in is immediately cut short by these almost skeletal sharks that leap from the mirrored pool. As a reflex Gaius spears the thing not unlike a fisherman, offering a sudden explosion of green light. "Oops." The guy exclaims, apparently accidently tapping Brionac without the pressure.

    Finally crossing the beach, Gaius makes motions toward his spear which was still sticking nearly straight up from its first impact. "Beats me." The man would offer the black cat as he'd spin the weapon in earnest then it would vanish in a spark of white light. A fact that he'd yet to share was a sudden change after her little show and tell lesson from the last time he'd been here. His left hand would move to his eyes, pressing it across his brow to provide a visor to which to peer under. Should it surprise them at all that she just disappeared, wasn't that sort of in her methodology at this point? As far as Gaius knew that was the problem they were having no matter what floor she was on, and whose to say she's even still on this floor at all. Despite his lack of belief she was even anywhere close to where they could see her, he'd humor the woman who posed the question and continue to beat feet around the beach in feigned pursuit.

Gaius didn't really care, and unlike the others he actually was looking forward to the stress relief. There was an easy simplicity in just smacking shit, a lot less ledger work or logistics. Both of which Gaius did not excel at. This however... The dragoon springs upward, drawing a small circle in the sand from his jumping point. The wind pressure carries him straight up with a surprising weightlessness, and held aloft there he'd twirl up and back the spear Brionac, behind his right shoulder. The process he'd normally take starts to see his energy trickle away, as he'd pour his power into it. When suddenly it surges bright and it would appear that his excitement was reflected by the thing. A smile creeps itself across his lips, and within that moment he twists.

    <<Star Driver!>> the man screams in a joyous decree.

    A vorpal tear of his arm down, would see that weapon released. A vibrant arch of green would nearly blot out the sky, and like an arrow it takes a pinpoint trajectory. In an instant, the sound barrier is broken and the weapon virtually warps to its target. Leaving the faint trace of lime green straight to Gaius like a thin fishing line with rings of building sizes. It sheers clean through his target like butter, sending bits of shell straight up from its back as the polearm goes right through into the sand below. The detonation comes as soon as it stops, a flare of nigh divine paints the whole place that same hue. Eyes blink as they are robbed of clarity, sound becomes nothing more then a muffled hum followed by a ringing. The sheer force of the strike sends the creature into the start of its death spiral. Its health is cut in half, its strength decimated in such a breakneck pace that even the cardinal system would find itself with whiplash.

    The gentle thud of Gaius landing back upon the beach, earnestly surprised at his efficiency lately. Something had clearly changed, yet his ego wouldn't inflate as a result.

  16. A gentle wind at his back the guy was just happy to get out of the house. In recent times he'd continued his business ventures, and had since found himself with a new 'waste disposal' in the form of some man that had sought him out. An odd fellow to be sure, but there was quite a bit of chaff from Gaius's cooking processes like making flour that was left behind. This fellow bought it and hauled it away, providing some much needed space within the rolling bite. What he was doing with it, well that really wasn't any of Gaius's problem or concern. The tavern business was booming, mainly because of all the damn time he was stuck in his kitchen. As a result, the mans palette was starting to really bring in the customers and it was a bitch to steal away for a day. 10 customers became 20, and 20 became a 100. Before he knew it the place is packed and he had to start hiring and training help. Not at all what he started out to do, but at least it was something to do.

    Gaius was trying to figure out where to hit this thing, the random swinging everywhere was making this hard to do. Seeing Ugzeke fall to a knee though was helpful. That meant that there was a place behind that he might be able to target without being in harm's way. Rushing wide around the creature, indeed there was. Brionic glows bright, weird it usually takes a while. Pulling his weapon back aiming for the middle of his back. Jabbing it directly into his spine, Ugzeke screams out in pain, head reels back as the ground shakes. Pushing the spear in further as he feels a sudden jerk down, pink petals slowly falling made him think that Kasumi just jumped off his weapon but from where… The woman wasn’t even seen, damn she was getting fast. Glancing around holding his hilt in the creature. The thing was losing energy, his swings were becoming less agroo, good. It was almost over

Catching up to Celeste as she was rotating her arm trying to stretch it out. Setting a hand on her other shoulder with a small glow, “You look like you could use a boost.” Moving past her he could swear he heard a thank you. Silence has fallen, cool. He was looking forward to putting this thing down, wanted to get back to his babies and other half, and excited to know what she made for dinner if anything. Freya had been getting better about having dinner ready when he got home. It has been that way since she got the ring. Even though Gaius thought of her as his equal, he still appreciated the extra stuff she did. Wondered if this would be something she would do when they got out of this hell

    Another glance to Brionic, it started to glow bright, “Hell yeah, let's do this!” saying as he pulls his weapon up and throws it straight down. Positioning his body so that he dives through the middle of his whirlwind. Catching the hilt right before impact, his pointed end right into the crevice of the black golems back. A large explosion of light finds everyone's ears ringing. When his vision repairs itself they are still left deaf but Gaius finds himself standing in a large hole. Gaius tries to say something but it almost seemed like nothing came out. Pushing a finger in his ear but nothing. This was becoming a bit annoying, regardless it was still cool that he had learned so much, even if it was because of that Nisa chick. He would have got it eventually, that woman just fast tracked the potential. Gaius was happy that Freya got him to start trying.

    Gaius watches as his teammates crumble all the golems in sight. Glancing down at Brionic, “You ready yet” it just pulses. “Okay I get it, you need time” eyes follow through the whirlwind below that was holding him up, finding what looked like black specs swirling up. Weird, nothing like that had happened before. Gaius felt okay being up here, only because he knew that his team could handle themselves, that and when he did fall it would be a metric mess. It was worth the wait. Mean while in the back of his head he was thinking what new recipe him and his girl would come up with. Maybe something with stuffed chicken, or a rare ingredient that didn’t look like it belonged in the food group. So many idea’s yet not enough time in the day.     Gaius’s head turns to Nisa, that phrase didn’t sound right. Eyes turned to the water and he began to pull Brionic back, but it pulsed. Gaius knew that if it pulsed it was charging and if it glowed it was ready to move forward with the attack. It was something that he had picked up on these last few times out in the field. “Okay, I hear you.” Glancing to the group, “I need more time guys” pulling his weapon back as he looks up and jumps. Winds swirl around him making it easier to incline, his spear wanted to charge, he was going to let it in a place he knew it would be hard to touch him. Hair flutters around the shoulders as the flaps of his vest hover ever so slightly against the whirlwind. Gaius will stay in the air till it starts to glow bright, then he will strike down.

    Glancing toward Nisa at her remark, but before he could see what was happening the man felt something on his boot. Looking down, it was a fat worm looking thing, the size of his foot. There were several, “WHAT THE, GET LOST!” as a gust of wind formed around him. It swiftly bursts the tiny critters away from him. “Found some” calling out to the others. Go figure these things would find him not the other way around, pulling his spear up as they start to move around like little insects trying to scramble to get away. Everytime Gaius saw these after the crab, they had a different form. Either that or it was just a new spawn of a variety of creatures… He had to stop thinking, confusing himself to wrap his head around the logic that made little to no sense. Shaking his head, focusing on where those twerps ended up.

  23. Sprinting toward the large sea urchin, it was one of many of the same that he had fought several times before this. It was starting to get a bit old but he needed to keep trying to get a handle on this weapon. He knew that it was bothering Freya to see him not able to use it efficiently so this was his way of trying to show her that he was trying. 

    He almost expected to have to wait, which gave him such good results. The weapons chimed with energy and he looked down, sliding to a stop just before his opponent. “Really already? Okay,” as he pushes himself with brionac as high as it could manage as a whirl wind forms around him. Glancing down, throwing the weapon as hard as he could so it gained the momentum it needed. Gaius swiftly dives after it, catching it in his two hands before it carves deep within that shell. It belly flops to the ground, as he pulls it out, needing to use a bit of force.

    Tough Shell: This monster’s MIT and ACC cannot be reduced, and it remains unaffected by Incarcerate, Paralysis and Freeze effects.
    Too Large: Familiars’ Grappling Skill cannot be used to stun the boss. Only normal stuns will work on it as a result of SAs or skills being used, and they will have a 4 turn cooldown.

    Bubble Spray: On an MD 10 and CD 6+, Sand’s Claw will instead hit the entire party for 125 unmitigated DMG, lowering every player’s EVA by 1 for two turns. This effect does not stacked and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    Gobble Up: If the boss’ health reaches 2000, on its next turn it will skip its attack and start eating rocks. It must be hit with 3 or more Delay SAs until its next turn, otherwise it will expend it on healing 1000 HP. This can only occur once per battle.
    Soft Skin: Once afflicted with Bleed, the effect will not wear off for the remainder of the battle.
    Unguarded Sides: Area of Effect attacks consume twice the base energy, but deal 50% (rounded up) more damage.

  24. Running late like usual, Freya had made him breakfast, thank god for that girl. He would have had to fight with an empty stomach and that would have been good for no one. The kids had made a huge mess before he left the house, felt a bit bad but he had to go and Freya knew that. Running as fast as he could toward the sands that he was frequenting with the party as of late. Eventually he catches up to Griswold, “Hey,” saying as he makes sure his vest wasn’t inside out. “Damn,” it was inside out, took it off and fixed it. Taking out Brionic, it glowed in the early morning light. Now that he thought about it, it always did… It didn’t matter if he was not using it at the moment, as soon as his hands touched that spear it shined… It was kind of weird… Taking the stuff that was set aside, glancing around at everyone waiting for the action to happen.
