  1. The Minotaur rushed forward, aiming for Kane's unarmored head with a series of crushing blows. The spiked mace came within a hair of him, and it seemed like it was only a matter of time before one of the spikes was driven through his skull! ------------------ Kane's life flashed before his eyes as the Minotaur knocked his blade out of his hands with a jarring JIIIING! It landed in the grass at least ten feet away, and the creature brought its mace crashing into the side of Kane's head... Or it would have, if the glowing violet light hadn't stopped the mace right before it reached his head.
  2. Taking hold of his <> sword, Kane revolved around the boss monster in an effort to thwart its aim. He swung low at the creature, aiming for its legs with his war blade. --------------- The blade bit deep, almost hungrily sinking into the beast's right calf. The boss backed up, holding its half of a mace defensively. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 13/23
  3. The Minotaur raised its mace and bellowed a challenge at Kane, charging forward to engage him in melee again. Swinging its weapon wildly, it tried to crush Kane through sheer force! ----------------------- If it hadn't been for Kane's armor, the Minotaur would have crushed his ribcage with a single blow. Instead, the breastplate took the hit, denting but not cracking. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 15/23
  4. Unfazed by the beast's attack, Kane tried to use the <> one more time. Drawing a dagger, he charged it with violet light before hurling it end over end at the boss monster. ------------------ This time, the dagger barely snuck through the Minotaur's defenses. Sinking into the beast's shoulder, it dealt damage to the beast's HP before teleporting back to Kane in a flash of indigo. A floating purple light revolved around Kane, floating like a will-o'-wisp. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 15/23
  5. The Minotuar had knocked Kane's first throwing blade away. Now they were engaged in a battle of projectiles. Pounding the ground with his mace, the boss monster shattered the earth around him, causing huge boulders to bounce out of the ground. Swinging his spiked war club, the Minotaur batted the huge boulders at Kane, hoping to flatten him! ---------------------- Kane batted the boulders out of the air with his blade, then dodged another that would have taken his head off. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 16/23
  6. Kane's Attack! A clever ruse, muahahaha! +1
  7. Now that the boss was starting to use some ranged tactics, Kane thought it couldn't hurt to respond in kind. He'd been successful last time with a throwing knife, so this time he spent a second charging up an advanced technique: <>. He hurled the dagger at the Minotaur, hoping it would connect for the second half of the technique. -------------------------- The Minotaur was ready this time, smacking the blade away. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 16/23
  8. The Minotaur switched up its tactics. Rearing back, it slammed its mace head into the earth with a mighty crack! A tremor shook the earth below Kane's feet, and he was shocked to see that a column of solid earth was headed straight for him like a wave, created by the boss monster's attack! ---------------------- Every video game he had ever played came rushing back to Kane as he managed to nimbly dodge the shockwave of loam and rock, gravel spraying like shrapnel in its wake. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 16/23
  9. Kane knew that he was in it for the long haul against this boss, slugging it out one on one with a mythical creature of biblical proportions. He would have laughed if he'd thought hard about it. As it was, his thoughts were a bit engaged at the moment, as he leapt high, and brought his blade down hard, hoping to score a hit on the beast as it charged past him. ---------------------- His sword arm was a hair too slow, and the beast got out of the way in time. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 16/23
  10. Minotaurs are creatures of legend for a reason. The foul hybrid lowered its horns as soon as Kane had put some distance between them. Charging forward, it attempted a wild headbutt, trying to gore Kane! ----------------- Fortunately for our intrepid hero, he had garnered plenty of experience in dealing with charging beasts when he'd fought the Bullbous Bow. Sidestepping gracefully, the Minotaur charged by, missing him completely. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 17/23
  11. Kane dice roll! +2 now that the creature's weapon is broken.
  12. Using the momentum that came from being hit, Kane tried to recover some lost ground. Pushing back against the creature's weapon with his own, Kane fought to force the Minotaur back, clashing blades with the boss as he hacked away at him. ------------------------ He managed to score a shallow hit to the creature's leg. It didn't do very much damage, but every little bit counted. Plus, it made the beast withdraw a few steps, giving Kane room to breathe. Kane: 15/17 Boss: 16/23
  13. Dropping the half of the long mace that was in its left hand, the Minotaur still looked deadly with the business end in its right, now a shorter, one-handed version of its previous weapon. The boss monster looked like it wasn't fooling around any more. Charging forward, it swiped to and fro with the spiked mace head, attempting to pulverize Kane! ------------------------ Kane parried the boss's swings as best he could, but the creature's size and strength were overwhelming. A glancing blow caught him across the arm, the spikes from the mace tearing lines through tunic sleeve and flesh alike.
  14. Kane dashed forward as the Minotaur fumbled with the dagger. He knew that he had to take advantage of the good fortune he'd been having. Sweeping his blade from left to right, then back again, Kane targeted the Minotaur's weapon, hoping to disarm the creature. ------------------- Kane made a mental note to thank Pepper once he got back to the city. The massive greatsword's metal rang a pure, true note as it sliced the creature's weapon clean in half, even carrying through to slash a deep mark into the creature's forearm. It looked just as surprised as Kane as it took a step back, roaring.
