  1. With her eyes fixated on the ground, she searched every inch of the mound she was standing on. Spending roughly ten minutes circling the area, she noticed another one of the flowers hiding in the shadow of a tree. Placing it into her inventory updated the quest progress yet again, '2/5 T1 Materials'. "If I keep going at this pace, I will be done in no time!" The uneasiness started to slightly fade as  nothing attacked her and she could just freely explore the zone.

Taking another look around, Hisa felt herself wondering if the developers might have put one or two flowers right next to the path outside of the city gates to give new players some immediate success, this was a tutorial after all. Deeming it worth a shot, back to the road and down the hill it was, this time searching the grass left and right of the trail.

  2. Calling it the wild area appeared unjust, it was beatiful and serene, at least at first glance. Plains, floating islands, rivers, lakes, it would make for a great vacation spot if a location like this existed in real life. She could not let the view slow her down though, there were materials to be gathered and col to be made if she wanted to join the adventurers ranks.

Hisa figured that what she was looking for might be located next to rivers, so she crossed the field until she arrived at the stream closest to her.

"Jackpot!" She immediately spotted the flower she was looking for and picked it up. A satisfying jingle signaled that the quest progress updated to '1/5 T1 Materials'.

With the gathering spot gone, she had to look for a new location. The hills looked promising so back to the road and up the hill she went.

  3. Taking the quest jingle as a starting signal, she left the workshop and made her way to the town gates. Blinded by being reminded of her height, she ignored everything on her way, making no attempt at hiding her mood. Uttering "I'll teach him not to call me small after I'm done with this quest and he's no longer essential, I swear to god." before her trail of thought was interrupted by the city guards wishing her safe travels.

That was when she realized, she was about to leave the confines of the Town of Beginnings, the area that protected her from harm. Knowing that if she turned around now, she could never forgive herself for not at least having tried, Hisa took a step forward.
'Safe area left', a message that sent shivers down her spine, but she wasn't about to give up now, if Katoka could do it, so could she.

  4. Packing nothing but small snacks for the journey, she left the tavern and made her way to the the first questgiver, a npc named Zackariah. Walking through the Town of Beginnings, felt eerily real. The smell of the food offered at the stalls she passed, the wind ruffling her hair, the warmth the sun emitted, everything reminded her of her journeys before she was trapped in the virtual world. Shaking off any doubts that started to form, she focused at the task at hand and soon arrived at her destination.

Upon arriving, Hisa knocked on the heavy wooden door. A male voice answered. "Please come in.". Without hesitation she entered the building. An old man was already waiting for her behind the counter. "Hello little girl, how can I help you?". Memories of students making fun of her for being short shot into her conciousness but she forced a smile. "Hello sir, I heard that you offer lessons in basic crafting in exchange for ingredients." "Indeed I do. If you want me to teach you, please bring me 5 of these" he said, pointing at flowers laying on the counter. As she investigated them, an item description popped up that simply called them 'T1 Materials'.

She nodded at Zackariah which set off the 'Quest Accepted' prompt, accompanied with the quest objective 'Go fetch five(5) Tier one materials and give them to Zakariah'.

  5. "I'm too goddamn young to give up and rot in this godforsaken game!" she shouted, visibly agitated after waking up for the what felt like the millionth time, about to repeat her daily routine again. As Hisa leaned back, falling on her bed, she stared at the ceiling in frustration. "Even Katoka ventures out, trying to advance and help beat this mmo. Why am I so scared?" she grumbled.

Fearing that her only close real life friend would find out that she was a coward at heart, the anger within her grew with every passing moment, before it got the better of her.
Never one to hold back when enraged, she kicked a nearby chair with all of her strength, sending it flying against the wall where it unceremoniously bounced off, causing a system message to pop up 'Immortal Object'.
This was the final straw. She had to change something about her situation before this place would drive her crazy.

Amidst a incredibly long string of cursewords aimed at the chair, Hisa finally gathered her courage to at least complete the tutorial. Opening the questlist, only a single one was selectable for her"<<The First Few Lessons are Free>>".

    Profile
    Username: Hisa
    Real name: Himari Sato
    Age: 25 (23)
    Gender: Female
    Height: 5'0

    About: History/personality

Ever since she was small child, Hisa was socially reserved. Growing up the only child of two hard working parents, she was rarerly given enough time to build a good relationship with them. Thus, she never managed to find many friends in school which has led to her staying at home most of the time.

Seeing her struggle so much, her parents took her to martial arts training. This scared her at first, but after a while she learned to love the environment. Here, nobody cared that her family is poor, it was all about your ability and the sport.

During the training, she managed to escape her shell a little and approach people. Eventhough it was awkward at first, she began to gradually gain confidence and it showed. Both in school and later in university she managed to confidently lead projects and small groups. One issue however persisted, she would not allow somebody to really get close to her. Most of the time she would stay home after university, never doing anything with the other students in her off time.

After university, she had little luck when it came to finding a job. Eventhough her grades were fine, her interests would have forced her to move out of her parents house which she didn't want to do.

With an unsure future, she took to the only other thing that gave her joy and calmed her as a kid, playing video games. She has always had a fondness for them, but took a break during the later years of school and the duration of university.

    Virtues:

    Dedicated

A dedicated fighter in real life, her martial arts training taught her some valuable lessons when it comes to dedication and picking herself up. No matter how hard the trials, if she really wants to achieve something, she will do anything in her power to reach her goal. This dedication might sometimes come off as stubbornness, but it is important for her not to decline a challenge.

    Brave

While not always steadfast at heart, she will never publicly show any signs of fear or weakness. Her actions aim to calm others down and inspire them to join her in battle, even if the odds seem overwhelmingly stacked against them. She believes that everybody feels fear deep down, but it is a choice to make it influence your decisions, and she will not let her fear control her or her friends.

    Charitable

Growing up in a poor household led her to appreciate gifts and those who give them more than the average person. She thinks that it is important for someone who is in a postion where they're able to aid should help those who can't help themselves. Now that she can finally be on the giving end of charitable acts, she looks forward to helping others achieve their goals.

    Flaws:

    Prideful

While generous, she takes great pride in herself and her achievements. This however, sometimes causes her to overreact when people criticize her work or her abilities. It's best to take cover should you witness someone openly pointing out issues in something she has done.

    Quick Tempered

Along with being prideful, she is also not very patient and gets angry fairly quickly. A couple of wrong words can set her off and she will probably start to yell. However, none of her outburst are physically violent, it's best just to leave her alone and cool down, should it happen.

    Neet

Aside from martial arts training, Hisa never left the house much in the real world instead opting to stay home and play video games. This left her with little experience when it comes to basic social interactions. She tends to stick to herself and has a hard time building trust, but once she grew to like you, she might become a bit overattached.

These white wraps cover hands, part of the legs, ankles and feet. On the hands, names, dates and numbers are inscribed. Each delicately written inscription referring to a person or an event to remind her that the world outside is waiting for her and the other players to escape from their virtual prison. Some spaces were intentionally left blank as to leave room for new friends she meets along the journey to beat this so called game. The lower legs, ankles and feet parts of these wraps are covered in hopes, dreams and wishes, as every kick will remind her and her enemies that she will destroy any opposition to achieve them no matter what.

    Armor

    Combat Vest | EVA+3

This simple black vest was made from incredibly sturdy fabric. The set is accompanied with a white sleeveless undershirt and short black cloth pants that end above the knees. While dampening the blow very little, it will not rip nor tear when being stricken by any sort of weapon. It's lightweight design however offer a great deal of mobility to the wearer as it is designed to be as non movement restrictive as possible.

Light Boar Tusk Chestpiece | MIT+1

Dropped from second lessons, Hisa acquired this armor after returning the mob materials to Lyle the blacksmith.

    Trinkets

    Guiding Lantern Necklace | LD+3

This miniature lantern is attached to a silver necklace. It emits a faint green glow whenever the wearer comes near a potential treasure.

Bag full of blinding sand | ACC+3

Every morning, Hisa fills the bag anew, readying it for another day of adventuring. During combat, she would tactically flail around, throwing it into her enemies eyes, making them less able to see and therefore unable to completely dodge her kicks.
