  1. Instantly asking about money, collecting it, and leaving while the man in front of him was asking for help and understandably was overthrown with work to do; Kata didn't mind taking time out of his day and helping him out a bit. He felt like it would be rude if he only came for the money and left. This would help him figure stuff out too.

Looking towards the door and back to Zackariah, Katakuri decided to make his way out towards the edges of the town and start gathering before the day disappeared on him. Never being outside of the city walls since getting stuck in the game, the male was cautious at first. He didn't know what would be awaiting for him outside the city walls when he went to get herbs and different type of materials for the alchemist.

This first quest was going to be an adventure and learning experience for sure.

Upon reaching the land outside of the city walls, Kata looked back at the walls with an unsure look in his eyes. All of this was new and he was still getting over the mental trauma this game caused him. A mental overload that took him three whole days to get over, and he knew he wasn't even fully over it. Breathing in deeply while closing his eyes, he thought for a moment before opening his eyes and walking towards the forest.

  2. Continuing through the beginning city of SAO, Kata decided to ask a few other people and NPCs to find his way to Zackariah's shop. This took a few good tries before he found the location where this NPC should be wandering around. Looking at the door and both ways down the street before entering. From the outside to the inside a completely different atmosphere took place. Dozens of shelves with color potions in various types of glasses sat everywhere, “Oh, hello," comes the distracted greeting from behind the counter. A man with a long, snow-white beard glances up from a bubbling cup of sweet-smelling purple liquid. "Are you here to order something? I’m sorry, but I am currently swamped with orders, and I’m running out of supplies.” Light comes into the man's dark eyes, a lightbulb going off to signify a brilliant idea. “Would you gather a few materials for me? Flowers, herbs, rare woods, whatever you can find outside the city walls. I promise I’ll help you fill your order as soon as you return. In fact, I would be willing to show you how to do it yourself.”

Standing there with the man almost shewing him away to the older gentleman decided it would be a good idea to have Kata help him out. The naturally light-red headed man nodded, "That sounds easy enough. I can go do that for you." Kata spoke while walking up to the counter to get closer to the man. Something hit him like an invisible way, he was here for a specific task, but he felt like he wasn't going to get that information out of the individual without helping him first.

  3. Three days later

Days have past since the announcements went off, hysteria died down, and a majority of others were on their way to get to the front-lines and beat the game. Kata decided that he needed to join the level grinding and make his way up the ranks as well.

"I don't want to stay here in this starter town for the rest of my life." Those words were going to stick with him; he didn't want anybody being trapped in this game for the rest of their lives.

Making his way over to the quest boards and other areas were you can communicate with NPCs and other characters, Kata didn't realize the individual was talking to him, "You there! Stop, please!" A man approaches you with long, purposeful strides.

Continuing his walking, he was stopped by a man who stepped right in front of him, "Pardon me, but I am in need of some assistance, and you appear quite capable." Giving the NPC your attention, he heaves a quick sigh, adjusting the monocle over his right eye. "My name is Dorian, and I am the mayor of this town. As part of those mayoral duties, I issued a small loan to a member of the community a few months ago. Well, the time to collect had come around and I-" Flustered, Dorian systematically runs his fingers over his perfect mustache. "You see, I've forgotten who it was I loaned the money to. Terribly embarrassing, I know, but I am a very busy man, and I cannot keep track of everything that happens. I'm sure you understand." With a wave of his hand, Dorian continues, "Should you be willing to track down the loan recipient for me, and collect the col, I would be eternally grateful. Just, maybe don't let anyone else know I forgot who the loan went to?"

Standing there with nothing much to say, Kata blinked at the individual a few times, "I forgot how pushy NPCs can be...", whispering under his breath before giving the NPC a smile. The young man understood that he needed to start somewhere and he was in the right place when it came to talking to this guy, he hoped.

Rubbing the back of his neck and looking around before giving the NPC a little more of his attention, nodding his head yes while speaking in a softer voice, "Yeah, I don't mind tracking down the loan recipient for you... Shouldn't be that hard, right?" The questioning at the end was more for Kata himself than questioning the NPC.

Upon acceptance of the quest, Dorian nods. "Excellent, I knew I could count on you! You might start with Zackariah, the alchemist. He's often doing projects for the town, so it may have been him that borrowed the money."

NPCs were always weird in Katakuri's eyes, since they only would catch half of what you said because they were only programmed for yes and no answers most of the time, "Zackariah the Alchemist? Alright... I'll start there and -" without much other to say. Kata felt like he blinked and the older man was gone from his sight, "...uhm...Okay, see you later, I guess?" With the information to find Zackariah the alchemist, the young half blood decided to continue from there without much direction.

  4. The beginning...

Before the announcements came on, Katakuri already noticed that you couldn't log out of this game. He popped in fifteen minutes before dinner to 'Test it out'; he should have listened to his mother. She nagged him for hours before he was able to finally get into the game, she delayed this horrible fate of his, and he still jumped in head first.

    After the announcements

Katakuri's chest kept aching, it felt like hundreds of pounds came down on him after the hysteria died down from the announcements that explained why everyone couldn't log out and other details. You can actually die here... That thought kept running through his mind like a roller-coaster, he felt like throwing up, and he was a complete loss when it came to words.

    Everyone is trapped here...
    I'm trapped here...
What is my mother going to think? My father...
...who is going to watch after my little siblings?

At this point in time, Katakuri wanted to be in denial, in a dream, or somewhere other than this place. His thoughts were dragging him into tar-ridden depths of darkness. A shiver went through him real quickly, and he kept rubbing at his non-dominant arm. Trying to sooth himself down; anxiety was undoing his buttons and if he kept thinking helplessly -- He soon was going to be weakened and helpless...

    Age: 21
    Gender: Male
    Height: 6'4"

    Eye Color: Blue

    Background:

Katakuri Kelly was born to an Asian mother and an Irish father. His father was actively in the military and stationed twenty-two months in the Shikoku region when he met Kata's mother, Aimi. A few great nights, a fling or two later, and Liam, Kata's father, was gone without many words. It was an awkward goodbye between the young lovebirds...

...it was an even more awkward reuniting of them too.

Out of nowhere, five years later, Liam Kelly had a hand-written letter with no recognizable name. Upon reading the letter, he found out that his young military experience gave him a son, Katakuri Kelly who was barely five years old upon the time of receiving this letter.

After the explanations, the long talks, and figuring out with Katakuri was even related -- The young boy and his mother moved in with his father. This was a new transition, since Kata only understood the Japanese language and barely could understand his own father. He understood a few words and maybe even a basic sentence, though they all had a rough time understanding each other.
Throughout the years, Katakuri adapted to speaking English and Japanese, though he mainly used English because of the location he lived in. He only used Japanese while speaking to his grandparents on his mothers side.

His mother and father ended up marrying, his father kept his military career for almost thirty years, and his mother was a house-wife which she was very happy to be. Katakuri ended up having a total of six younger siblings, and he was the oldest, plus he was the first son. This put a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and he ended up learning the ways of baby-sitting, helping his mother clean up after the little ones, and learning how to be patient -- very, very patient.

    Virtues

      Patience

Going from an only child of almost seven years to have siblings, six siblings to be exact, Katakuri has learned how to control himself. Being the oldest and the first son, he has had a lot of responsibilities put over his head. All of this has helped him learn that sometimes you have to take a step back and look at the bigger picture before you speak your mind or consider your next move. He is patient with most individuals, sometimes to patient.

    Compassionate

Katakuri has been caring towards others since the day that he could express himself in such a way. Even as a young child the boy would go up to complete strangers that were mentally, emotionally, or physical in distress. Always making sure that they had somebody to talk to or care for them. This behavior increased with age, siblings, and new friends throughout the years. He rather listen to a stranger than hear a sad story in the news.

    Authenticity

Trying to be true to yourself is one thing, trying to be true to others is a harder thing. Katakuri doesn't like to misguide or lie to himself or others, he believes it is a bad omen to do so. So, he tries his best to stay honest with himself and others so it cannot come back in the future to stab him in the back. This ability to state the truth even when he knows it will get him in trouble is a hard thing for most, but he rather have karma bite him there and then.

    Flaws

Over-Protective to the point of Self-sacrificing

This mentality started when he became an older brother for the first time; Kata started to become over-protective over his younger siblings. This behavior spread out to his close-friends and family. This might play into an even selfless type of behavior, since he rather be the one in the rut than others. Always helping even to the point of exhaustion, Katakuri is the type that will be over-protective to the point of self-sacrificing acts for the ones he loves.

    Cold-Temper

This temper might be triggered by his other flaw, yet he doesn't let this one show as much. Depending on the situation, he might do the regular voice raising and emotional outburst like anybody else. Though, anybody can meet their limits and when you meet Kata's -- You will know. He can be a very cold young man when it comes down to his true temper, he can go so far to act as if you don't exist and to the point where he can look directly through you. Treating you as if you were a ghost, unseen, unheard, and not even there.

    Self Destruction

Katakuri's worst flaw is about himself, his being, and his realism as another person. Never feeling welcomed into the world, unaccepted or different, and never being able to get completely close to others have caused a lonely self destructive mindset. He wants to be the best he can be for all his friends and family, yet Kata lets his mind get the best of himself sometimes -- No one can always be the best, but he wants to always make everyone smile and feel okay. When he fails, gets angry, or even knows he messes up, he will shut down, distance himself, and maybe even try to disappear.
