[PP-F2] <<Earning A Living>> [COMPLETE]

Recommended Posts

Daeron had been standing in the starting town of the second floor. He had contacted a good fighter, Darius, to accompany him on finding Dragons in the cave up north from the starting town to collect Dragon Heart Stones. Daeron had already supplied himself up with food and some fluids to drink in case it got to a point where they needed it. Daeron's objective was to collect 12 Dragon Heart Stones to make a new weapon for them. Although they only needed 3 per person, Daeron wanted to make sure that in case he failed as training to become a blacksmith, he had backup resources for such a reason.

He had promised Darius a new Sword and possibly a new shield once he got his license to become a blacksmith.

In order to earn a Dragon Heart Stone from one of the dragons a loot dice of 10+ must be rolled per Dragon. If a 20 is rolled you get 2 Dragon Heart Stones.

Darius had entered the town he was supposed to meet Daeron in. He had brought enough supplies to last him long enough for their adventure. Multiple health potions, food, and water; along with his trusty sword and buckler. The main reason he was going on this trip was to get the dragon heart stones. He needed them to be able to have someone make him better equipment so he could get to the frontlines faster.

Darius appears through the teleporter, a neutral expression on his face as he searches for Daeron.

Daeron saw Darius and called him over. When Darius came over, he sent him a party invite. As Darius accepted the party invite, Daeron finally checked his inventory for any last things he needed.

"I think I'm all set", said Daeron.

He finally began walking towards the outskirts of town up north, which is where the Dragons were that contained the Dragon Heart Stones. Daeron pulled up his map and set a waypoint up north where the cave is.

Darius would simply follow Daeron wherever they were going. He came along for the EXP and ore. Not for small talk. Throughout their journey to their destination, Darius would be rather anti-social and always have a rather grim expression on his face. He was sick of having the starting equipment and wanted something different.

Daeron and Darius had finally arrived at the cave. There weren't any ferocious roars of a sort in the cave. Perhaps there weren't any dragons in there after all. Daeron was a little confused. He looked at Darius and continued into the cave with his sword out. Inside of the cave there were several different dragons. They weren't large vicious beasts like one would expect, no, they were in fact almost like a baby dragon. They were tiny, with hardly any dangerous look to them. One could easily fall for one to be adorable. Daeron pulled out his sword.

"Use your "How" to try and call some more over, I'll go ahead and deal some damage. I assume you've practiced being a tank", Daeron suggests.

He knew Darius was a Tank, or a defender, so this would probably make the fight easier in the area. Daeron looked about the cave, in the current part they were in he only saw 4 dragons. They were all only Level 2.

Darius unsheated his sword and stepped forward. All of the dragons looked cute and cuddly. Darius would have an especially fun time crushing them under his boot. He took a deep breath before letting out a hate-infused roar that activated the ability 'Howl', drawing the dragon's attention to Darius. They all turned to him, their small wings fluttering and not being big enough to support their weights. They had to resort to running towards Darius on their four, scaly legs.

The first dragon approached him, the four of them being too pudgy to be able to attack him all at once. He didn't even try to block or dodge. He just let it bite his leg, taking the one damage. As the dragon was gnawing on his leg, Darius went for a horizontal strike at its neck.

[1-8]- Darius' strike deals two damage to the dragon. It is cut and reels back, letting another take its place.

[9,10]- Darius' strike deals four damage to the dragon. It is cut and reels back, letting another take its place.

Daeron watched as how weak they were. Instead of making this dragged out, Daeron took a chance and used his ability 'Blitz' on them. His sword began to glow orange, and he charged at the group of dragons almost next to him.

As Daeron 'switched' with Darius, Darius watched Daeron use an ability that devastated the dragons. The one he had just struck shattered into pixels while the others three were put into critical health and pushed back. Darius charged forward, taking his sword in two hands as he charged 'Vorpal Strike'. He switched with Daeron and attacked the vulnerable while growling in hate and rage, using 'Vorpal Strike' as his blade seemed to extend double its distance to attack the dragons.

[1-8]- Vorpal Strike does double the normal damage, as is its ability description, dealing four damage to the dragons, shattering them.

[9-10]- Vorpal Strike does critical damage of double damage, dealing eight damage to the dragons, shattering them in a complete overkill.

Daeron took a look at the GUI prompt that opened and checked to see if he got any loot from those dragons.

((Since there are multiple dragons there is a higher chance of earning the loot))

Daeron watched as there are now 12 Dragon Heart Stones in his inventory. He needed that to make his weapons, but he also wanted to get some iron ingots to make some armor. Darius has been desiring some armor, and Daeron planned on repaying him with a new gear set up for that reason. Daeron figured to go over to a different cave in the west of town that contains <>, each skeleton has a chance to drop iron ingots, which can be used for the armor.

When Daeron looked around the cave, there were 3 <> Level 3 Each, meaning they had 9 HP each. They carried sharp iron swords with a helmet on their head. They were already aggro'd and charged in almost instantly.

Two of the skeletons charged in on Darius since he had a shield, and the other charged in on Daeron.

As the two skeletons charged him, Skeleton2 was on his left side and Skeleton3 was on his right. His face turned grim and dark as he prepared for the 2 v 1. It shouldn't be hard. Skeleton2 swung a vertical strike towards him while Skeleton3 swung a horizontal strike at him, in complete unison. In response, Darius pushed his shield up to try to intercept the vertical blow while uses the ability 'Parry' in the form of an upward slash to try to intercept the horizontal blow.

[2,5]- Darius somehow blocks neither strike, getting hit by both strikes.

[1,4,7]- Darius blocks the vertical strike with his shield, but not the horizontal strike with his 'Parry', taking one damage from the skeleton.

[3]- Darius doesn't block the vertical strike with his shield and takes one damage, but blocks the horizontal strike with his parry.

[6,8]- Darius blocks both strikes, being locked in a stalemate.

[9,10]- Darius perfectly blocks both strikes. His shield block jars Skeleton2's arms and it stumbles backwards, open for attack. His 'Parry' was good enough to sheer Skeleton3's blade clean in half.

Daeron had just dodged the skeletal's attack. He raised his sword and slashed down on the skeleton as it was open for a strike.

Darius would block Skelton3's strike with his sword, but while not paying attention to skeleton2, skeleton2's sword had slid of the side of his shield and cut him down his front. Darius had plenty of health, so he wasn't worried about dodging. He turned his attention fully on Skeleton3 now, since it was wide open for an attack. He charged 'Vertical Arc' and then, stepping forward with a roar, activated it trying to cut the skeleton up.

[2,5,7]- Darius lands the first strike, dealing two damage, but not the second before Skeleton3 jumps back.

[1,3,4,6,8]- Darius lands both strikes, dealing four damage before Skeleton3 jumps back.

[9,10]- Darius lands criticals for both strikes, dealing eight damage and killing Skeleton3.

Daeron and his opposing enemy seemed to be dodging one another's moves rather easiliy. So in order to get a hit in on the skeleton, Daeron had decided to change up his fighting style. He put his one-handed sword away and pulled out a sharp straight dagger which he carried in his right hand. Daeron went for a jab at the skeleton's torso to finally get the first hit in. With the dagger he was using, he was able to make moves much quicker now and was able to dodge faster now too. (Dodging chance increased, but damage decreased) Daeron took his dagger and took a jab at his opponent.

As Darius swung at the skeleton, he only got one strike in before it leaped back to avoid the second. He scowled; then remembered Skeleton2. It came charging at him again, reeling its arm to the side for a horizontal strike. Darius held his buckler out. A simple strike it would be extremely easy to block as he pushed his arm out to intercept the attack, push the sword out, and open the skeleton up for an attack; which he was charging 'Savage Fulcrum' for the job.

[2,7]- The blow is strong than Darius expected, deadlocking his arm with the sword, creating a stalemate and not allowing Darius to use his ability.

[1,3,4,5,6,8]- Darius blocks the sword, pushing it out so he can use 'Savage Fulcrum,' bringing the skeleton to 1 HP.

[9,10]- Darius gets a perfect block, dealing damage to the skeleton's arm as he pushes it away, and then uses 'Savage Fulcrum' to kill it.

Daeron hit the Skeleton so hard it become stunned for several moments. He was watching as Darius was fighting the Skeletons on his own and he thought he needed to help. So in reflexive acts, Daeron lifted the stunned skeleton and threw it towards the direction of the other two skeletons in hopes of hitting them. After he released the skeleton, which was now airborne, he ran behind it aiming his dagger towards the skeleton's chest again.

The skeleton's blow was stronger than Darius expected, his arm locking in place from the impact, creating a stalemate. Darius had just been about to stab the skeleton, when another came soaring from the air, bowling over both of his. Taking his chance, he pulled his sword over his head in a two-handed grip, charging 'Vorpal Strike,' which extends the reach of his blade by two and doubles the damage dealt. His sword's blade began to glow crimson as Darius' face twisted into lines of rage and hatred. He let out a roar as he brought his sword down upon the enemies before him.

[1-8] Vorpal strike hits all three skeletons that are tangled together, dealing four damage to each.

[9-10]- Vorpal strike hits all three skeletons that are tangled together with a critical, dealing eight damage each.

[Messed up the skeleton's health earlier. My bad.]

Daeron watched as Skeleton1 hit the ground after flying through the two other skeletons who also got damaged by them. As the skeletons were piled together Darius took a massive strike on them. Daeron knew this was his chance to use 'Blitz' his signature ability. Quickly, Daeron charged in throwing his body forward and gripped his dagger tightly.

Darius would watch as Daeron's ability had failed. The skeletons were now sorting themselves out and starting to get up. Darius wouldn't allow that. He raised his sword above his head, gripping it with both hands as it again glowed a crimson color. He charged 'Serration Wave,' an area attack that would keep them all on the ground. Darius said the simple word "Jump" to Daeron, before slamming his sword into the ground, embedding it there with a savage growl as a jagged ripple shot from around him, heading out in a circle around him. The skeletons who were on their hands and knees were hit by it, taking one damage and being knocked into the air like they were kicked off by a bucking bronco. If Daeron, didn't jump, similar results would happen to him.

Daeron had missed his attack. Before he could fully recover from his miss he heard one word come from Darius' voice. "Jump". He didn't know what it meant, all he knew is to do it. Quickly Daeron recovered and made an attempt to jump.
