[F11-SP]Ants are scary when they're a horde

Recommended Posts

Once again Macradon had arrived at the 11th floor for some farming for mobs. He would grab his sword and run for the fields in the forest. He would drink one of the many damage increasing potions he had received from Zandra so that his damage was on par against the monsters he would be facing. He was feeling for some more diversity in the battles than just grinding on ant guards, it got boring quite quickly so Macradon would go deeper into the woods and find some more intimidating mobs he could face off against. Though, to start his journey into the forest and find mobs stronger and more fierce than the ant guards ... he had to fight the ant guards. It wasn't a problem, though, Macradon just had to kill them and get on with the task. He would be able to get down quite the bunch of mobs now with his level and his energy gauge. The guards would take a serious beating when Macradon went ham on them with his concentration and disguise, but it was not enough to take them down and they would counterattack him to take 2 ticks of health off him. He would smile and continue the battle.

Another ant man appeared, looked like a sergeant with the kind of armor it had on it. Macradon would get ready and charge at it. He would appear close up at it and use his <Astral Hell> on it to quickly dispose of the nuisance blocking his way towards the inner forest. He cleaved through it, chopping it to bits and would collect what ever loot it dropped. It was too easy farming at the gates, the only mobs were some lesser guards and their big leader that was easily defeated by someone like Macradon. Quite a bother.

It was quite different for him to be here in the deeper inner parts of the forest, he had never ventured past these points and wouldn't have known anything about it if he didn't just charge through their front yard guards. Hopefully the mobs in here would be stronger. He would look around, trying to see if anything was worth taking a look at. The forest just seemed like one big ant hill made of trees, leaves and roots. Not much differed from a dense jungle to this, other than the paths that was made by cut down trees. Nothing in particular seemed like something he should look at, all was at the ordinary.

He would come to a split way, he had the choice of taking 3 different way, he would take the left on for now, if he would see something different wasn't sure to happen, but at least he would see something. He would walk the first path of the split and soon come to a stop. He came to a large pit, probably a mass grave, or one to be. He would get the shivers from those thoughts and walk away from there again. He turned around because he saw something peculiar sticking out of the ground in the grave. He would jump down and see what it was, it was an ore, he could use that for his crafting. He put it away in his inventory.

Maybe he could find some more useful stuff in here in this pit of death. He would search through the dirt and kick a few rocks aside. He would keep on looking for anything worth to pick up. It wasn't that easy, it was like there wasn't anything at all. Macradon would give up looking, it didn't seem like there would be anything more of use. He would climb back up from the pit and get back to the 3 split way, this time he would take the way to the right and come to a bigger area with living creatures. Macradon would unsheathe his sword and get into battle stance.

Macradon charged into the fray and used his strongest AOE sword art to take down some ant soldiers. He sighed in a slight irritation as the soldiers were near the same stats as the guards. Maybe he had to venture deeper into the forest to find some more decent mobs that would lead to a challenge. Macradon would grab the loot up and leave for the split way again to find some stronger opponents. He would look around to see if anything were to spawn, probably not.

This was a dead end as well, Macradon didn't have anything to do here nor did he have anything to get. The mobs had been slain and the loot had been taken. Macradon would just go back to the split way. He would now take the center path. Those two paths at the sides were just some dead ends and would look like something with mass graves and such. Macradon would shrug it off and walk the middle road. It was just trees and mud covering the walls of the big ant hill and Macradon would keep on walking, hoping to find something.

Found something he did. A corridor that was wider than the initial pathway itself. It was large and had room for many ants to be. Macradon still had his sword out. He would get it into position and go into the pflug guard, rush forward with his <Charge> and kill the ant soldiers with the <Fight Blade> sword art. A 6 hit combo hit that hat its heavy weight slam through multiple enemies, cleaving them down in one go for Macradon. As he picked up the loot he quickly realized that he didn't have any spare energy to fight anyone else so he would begin to take a rather unorthodox route in this ant hill.

Macradon would look around in this area in particular. Ant men were gathered here, maybe there would be something of value Macradon would get. He would look around, turns some rocks, look over trees, push branches aside and all that. He was determined that there was something here that he could use, though what it was was a mystery to him for now. He would just keep on looking, hopefully finding something, just something, be it a lesser rock or a rare ore, just something.

He didn't seem to find anything, whatsoever, so he decided to venture deeper into the ant hill. At some point he would hopefully encounter some mobs who were worthy of fighting him. Even though Macradon cheated with his damage increasing potion, he still needed to find something he could fight that would actually feel like a fight. He remembered the anticlimactic experience he had when he was stuck in the chapel of the 11th floor. A greater demon who managed to deal quite a lot of damage died in one combo of attacks from Macradon.

Macradon thought about it. Maybe the mobs were strong, but his attacks were too strong and he usually engaged into combat with a charge, so he was the one to take initiative. The mobs could be strong, he just killed them before they could do near to anything to him. He would stop just for a few seconds, standing there and thinking about those thoughts. Were the mobs really that strong, could Macradon be in trouble again if he didn't kill any of those stronger mobs. Macradon was unsure if he was on the right floor after all.

Macradon came across yet another group of ant soldiers. Why they all were grouped in groups of 4 was a mystery to him, it was hecka convenient, but that was it. It wasn't logically set up because some one with a strong AOE like Macradon could easily take those 4 out in quick succession and without any bother, of course a group of 4 against someone who mainly focused on DPS and single target damage would have a bit less of a good time because they weren't capable of dealing with all 4 at the same time, they could only focus one of them out at a time, leaving them vulnerable to attacks from others. Macradon had it easy, strong AOE and decent single target damage, Macradon was fine with this. He managed to kill the soldiers with his <Fight Blade>, it was all routine for him now.

Was there anything the protected, anything of value Macradon could use, but no, there wasn't anything. He sighed and shrugged and then began to walk even deeper into the ant hill. He was getting impatient, just normal soldiers walking about. Nothing fancy that even made it just a bit more dangerous for Macradon to venture into the place. Macradon was probably too strong to grind like this on this floor, he should probably advance to the next floor if not higher.

Another group of 4 ant soldiers appeared, though they seemed a big tougher than the rest, they were bigger and looked more fierce than the rest. Macradon would prepare his attack, he would rush forward and strike down the ant soldiers. Even though Macradon was capable to killing them with a single attack, they still had more health points and more damage than the normal ant soldiers. The transition from guardsmen and lesser soldiers to more elite soldiers was coming forward now.

He was thinking whether or not he should stay here and farm the slightly stronger mobs or venture even deeper into the ant hill. He would think about it. Last time he was risky he nearly died, to being cautious like this would be nice, he would stay put and prepare himself for a battle when more mobs would spawn. It was probably best just slaying those mobs he was familiar with, not some bigger and stronger mobs that he didn't knew the attack pattern of, which could lead to major damage onto Macradon.

Macradon was unsure of his actions, he was best to just leave this area and go back to grinding at the front or just the soldiers in the isolated areas. Macradon was not brave enough to take the risk of anything bigger suddenly spawning here. He just couldn't. On his way back he found a rock that had been broken up, he took a quick look a lo and behold, an ore was inside the rock. He would pick it up and go away again from the area, towards the entrance of the ant hill.

What a mess he had to go through to find some stronger mobs. He actually had to venture quite far into this massive ant hill to find it. Think about those who went through it all to get to the floor boss. Macradon wasn't fond of the that thought, he should just head to the entrance and fight off weaker mobs that he could take on and don't care about. What a day this was, many materials gathered and much more of the ant hill explored, it was quite a nice day.

Yet again he found a broken rock with an ore in it. Macradon was lucky today, getting all those mats just by walking around. He was happy. What a good day it had been. Even though he was ant farming like this and that the mobs were getting bothersome because of them being weak, Macradon still enjoyed the reward that came with all the hours of grinding. He couldn't really be that mad, he got a lot of snowflakes as well, snowflakes are just good for the event, but it's something!

Macradon saw that some of the ant soldiers had respawned the way he was on his way out. He used his <Disguise> on one of the ants to get the surprise element on and his <Concentration>  to get the hit down. He used his <Charge> to get close and then his <Fight Blade> to kill the ant soldiers. He killed them easily as always and took the loot in he had acquired. He would just walk towards the entrance again, he wanted to get out and relax for today for now.

Macradon looked around the area, noticing that some of the mobs hadn't spawned yet like the ants he just fought. It was weird, it was like the mobs deeper into the ant hill spawned much faster than the ones standing guard outside. He didn't know if it was intentional or just a small bug that was present, but he would just shrug it off. He would keep on walking, slowly getting towards the entrance that would be his exit. He probably had to kill the guards before he could get out, which was fine with him
