Freedom at last! Seul couldn't contain his excitement any longer. He had done it! Only a handful of people thus far had taken the quest to escape the bandit's clutches and even fewer actually completed the task. Yet here he was, free as a bird and able to-

"YAH!" It felt like he had been struck by a train. A train filled with bricks. His head was spinning and when he was able to get his eyes to focus, they widened at the sight of a large portion of his health that had been taken off from the hit. He was scary. But not just that, the guy was built like a literal tank. This was the Bandit Warden and he was on an entirely different level. The hulking man wielded a club that was just about half Seul's size which must've been what he used to attack the player. "Ugh... I guess we can't talk this through?" The black haired player gathered his fallen blade and took on a defensive stance but the warden simply tossed him disinterested glance. "Talk is cheap. Real men either get to fightin' or they get to dyin'." He replied while slinging the blunt weapon onto his shoulder. 'Alright, just remember you asked for this.' The warden made it pretty obvious that he wasn't going to initiate another attack now that Seul was ready for it. The player would have to take the initiative and as such he didn't hold back from using his strongest move right off the bat. He got into a low dash as he closed the distance between himself and the warden, but the man refused to budge even as the warrior got well within striking range. The dagger glowed a faint purple. "Shadow Stitch!" One slash across the chest followed by two roundhouse kicks to accompany it! Unlike his underlings though the warden hadn't so much as budged and even worse, Seul's energy was at its limits.

The man swung his club yet again in a horizontal arc, but you'd have to be crazy to try and block something like that. Seul leaned backwards and effectively managed to dodge being murdered and thankfully his regeneration had kicked in as well. He sprang back up once the club was out of range and activated Armor Pierce. The glowing green dagger in his hand took off toward the man and stabbed at his stomach in one swift movement before the boy decided it was time to put some distance between them.

The Warden had been stunned from Seul's previous attack and thankfully so. The boy had a few moments to catch his breath. The whole situation was crazy and the fight was only growing more difficult the longer they continued. "Please.. Time out." The boy mumbled, but the warden didn't reply. What was he thinking taking this quest?! This man was going to kill him. He needed to do something.  But what? He needed help. But if he called no one would come. He needed to end this. But how?

The now free warden was faster than he looked. He closed the gap between them in only a few simple strides, but the smashing force of his club attack was only met with earth as Seul rolled out of the way. Was this how the bandits he killed felt? Utterly helpless...? Without his sword arts he was like an ant trying to take on a giant. No! Such thoughts only stood to cloud his judgement. He needed to focus. Keep evading and save up his energy so that he may attack back!

The warden was quick to follow the boy's steps and brought his club down only to have Seul roll out of the way yet again. "Gimmie a break! I can't die here...! There's too much left that I haven't done... Someone out there in the world needs me, can't you understand that?!" Apparently not. Or if he did the bandit didn't show it. "If that was true, you wouldn't be here right now. You'd be with them. No one cares about your life. Not even you considering you're giving it up to me so willingly."

He wasn't sure which hurt more; the warden's harsh words or the attack that followed them. Seul raised his shield in anticipation but was still pushed back by the blow while losing a small portion of his HP. The green, regenerating aura shrouded his form and restored his health but how long would it really last? The warden was too strong. The most he could do here was run and block. There wasn't even room to counter. What a mess.

The warden followed up with another smashing attack which Seul avoided by rolling to the side. Now was his chance. He had been biding his time to try and save up energy and now he had enough to use the Shadow Stitch sword art. The slash and kicks knocked the bandit's health into the yellow zone and now he seemed to be taking the player more seriously than he was previously. The true fight was only just beginning. The boy knew that for certain.

"You're not bad kid." The first real compliment the warden tossed his way throughout their battle. "To be honest, not sure how I've gotten this far in Aincrad." He admitted while reflecting on the adventures leading up to this moment. This wouldn't be the first time he stared death in the face. Knowing him, this also wouldn't be the last. If he survived, that is. The warden had taken it upon himself to attack again and as per procedure, Seul rolled backwards and out of the club's path without stopping to retaliate.

Another sweeping attack followed soon after, but the boy raised his shield to meet it and null the damage entirely. His energy was returning and that was all that mattered. He needed to stay vigilant. If he was able to push the warden this far he should have been able to beat the warden. He was starting to see why the recommended level for the quest was so high. Without a sufficient supply of energy at your disposal you basically became the equivalent of a fly fighting a man with an extra large swatter.

Another attack, another dodge. This song and dance was getting old, but he much preferred it than the alternative of him being beaten to a pulp. His energy was almost back. If he could hold out a little more then he'd be able to fight off the warden on even footing again. Until then it was a 'try not to get hit' tactic that would see him through this fight. "HOLD STILL!" The warden bellowed. His voice sent a shiver down Seul's spine as they were similar to the words he spoke early toward the guards.

"NO!" The defiant answer only enraged the warden further as his next swing came a lot faster then his previous ones. Still Seul managed to avoid it and scurry away with his health still in tact. It wasn't the most interesting fight, not by a longshot, but he wasn't trying to entertain anyone and he had enough faith in the player base to know that no one would simple watch someone else be murdered without trying to step in to help. Er... Help protect them. Not help murder them.

You probably get the picture by now. The pair are trapped in a constant, futile act. Seul being unable to attack and the warden being unable to land anymore clean hits on the player. At this rate they'd be there forever. Heck, the other players might even clear the remaining floors before one managed to kill the other. One more turn separated him from his energy need. Only one turn. He just had to out maneuver the warden once more before he could strike back.

This was it! His time to- "Huh?!" Before he could enter the stance for the sword art the warden's club sent him skidding backwards for the first time in a while. The hit actually knocked off a point of his health which quickly returned thanks to his regen. With the warden's guard being exceptionally high now, he couldn't afford to just waste energy buy swing around wildly. He would wait. Strike when the time was right and maybe even store up some extra energy to use his moves in succession.

Oh boy. Bet you can't guess what happened next. Go ahead, guess. If you said the warden missed then you're right! If you said Seul didn't do anything... Then you're also right! The fight continued that way and neither side was going to budge. The onl good thing about the whole ordeal was that the boy's energy was returning. Soon he'd be able to fight back. Hopefully. Maybe. Probably not. Don't count on the fight ending any time soon.

The warden missed again but wait! "Shadow Stitch!" That's right. Seul actually managed to retaliate with the strongest sword art at his disposal. the slash and two kicks to the man's chest sent him stumbling backwards as his health was now well within the red zone. One more hit like that would be enough to finish him and the look on his face showed that he knew it. They both tightened their resolves as these would be the final moments of their match. Maybe.

The warden decided now would be a good time for a come back. He slammed the club into Seul's side, only this time the attack had been just as devastating as when they first started, sending the boy sprawling to the ground quite a distance away. He just laid there, on his back and in the dirt, looking skyward. A soft rain fell from the clouds that blanketed the floor and he closed his eyes, wishing he could just fall asleep in such a setting rather than have to fight against this monster.

The warden brought his club down on the resting player in another brutal attack. "Did you forget about something?! This is a fight to the death! Taking a nap is against the rules!" Seul gasped for air beneath the weapon's immense wait. "Since when do death matches have rules-?!" The bandit only drove the club further down in order to get the boy to stop talking. "That's beside the point! Can't you show some decency and fight back?!" He had never seen someone in such a hurry to get a butt-kicking, though he wasn't sure how he was supposed to fight back while trapped in such a way.

"I'd be happy to kill you'd just let me get up first!" He cried. The bandit kept his weapon firmly in place on the boy's gut and his health was dropping as a result. As if teasing him the guy looked away and brought his free hand to his chin in thought. "I'm unsure how running around like a boar without a head is going to kill me..." The warden replied with a light chuckle. Seul  was mad now. This guy wouldn't be laughing for much longer. Not if he could help it. "Let me get up and I'll show you, you more off than on-"

To his surprise the warden actually let him go, probably as a result of boredom. There was no thrill in tormenting someone in such a way, at least not for a blood thirsty bandit leader who lived to kill on the battlefield. Seul got up in the next instance but simply wiped the dirt from his coat. The downside of wearing white since every stain would appear for all to see. "Well?" The warden asked. At this point he didn't care about finishing the fight. He just wanted to go home. "Gimmie a sec. And don't move. I guarantee my next move will kill you."

"As if!" The warden laughed before charging in with his club once more and smashing it down upon the bow. Only, Seul's shield had intercepted the blow and mitigated some of the damage. "You're so predictable!" In his other hand the dagger glowed a faint purple color as a sign of Shadow Stitch's activation.  He used in strength to knock the club upward and expose the warden's form long enough for him to leap forward and deliver the slash followed by two kicks to both the man's sides. The bandit now had a taste of his own medicine as he was the one sent to the ground. He gurgled and wheezed before releasing the grip on his club and succumbing to death by pixelated explosion. It was finally over and he had emerged victorious. Somehow.
