[SP-F14] The Next Chapter Unfolds.

Recommended Posts

As Leothiel fell to the ground and exploded in a mass amount of particles, he slung his blade upon his shoulder and started marching his way toward the door that opened the way to Floor 14. He didn't care much about the layout of the land, the Berserker was on a frenzied search for the new town, regardless of the fact that he couldn't enter the town. Across the ebony colored landscape of what seemed like burnt stone, the entire ambiance of the world was as if it were encased in a thick layer of ash and dark residue. But the Berserker was determined to find the next boss room, he slid his greatsword into it's socket and moved forward.

After having reached a good long distance into the dungeon, he pulled down his inventory menu and brought up an Extra Massive Turkey Leg, a Chocolate Bar, a Kingly Crab Meal, a Damage Two Crystal, and a honey barbecue pork-chop to increase a variety amount of stats at the exact same time. After having finished the entire mound of food he left for himself, he headed out into the unknown of the fourteenth floor. Dom obtained Despair from the Friend Shared Inventory with Zelrius to kick start his searching.

Walking along the ashen path of the downtrodden stony landscape minding his own business, when suddenly four heavily armored skeletons with spears and leather covered greatshield's stood in the path of the man who honestly looked like he belonged in this landscape based on his armor alone. Dom shrugged his shoulders when the names of the skeletons appeared above their heads, "Undead Champions, huh? You four look about as menacing as a plain basic turtle." He insulted as he simply cleaved through the entirety of the guardians of the fourteenth floor, they immediately exploded into data particles as the Berserker continued forward as though nothing had occured.

Ssendom brought up his friend shared inventory with Zelrius and sent a message to inform the Dual-Blader that he was going to utilize the Blood of the Champions for this farming session of his. After he sent off the message he went into his inventory and retrieved the blood and activated it's abilities on him. Immediately he could feel a surge of strength coarse through his veins, he felt more powerful and fortuitous. Once the feeling finally set in completely, he looked up and charged out into the wilderness ready to carve up more monsters for the slaughter.

Now with the empowerment completely channeled throughout all of his muscles, he was eager to fight some enemies. But there were none around for him to exact vengeance upon. He would walk around the barren ashen wasteland to come across no enemies. He noticed a barracks in the distance and decided that would be the location of where he would truly begin his farming regimen. He adjusted his shoulder around till he could feel a pop, after which he launched forward blade in hand ready to destroy all within his war path. His excitement was at an all time high, and he was accumulating more col than ever before.

As he approached the Barracks, after what was a consider long run. He could feel his energy reserves replenishing themselves at an incredibly quick rate. He knew now wasn't the time to instigate a fight which would interrupt the accelerated energy restore. After so many farming runs he learned that it was combat that interrupted energy cycles, not actual physical activities like in the normal world. He took this time to catch his breath which was still affected by running long distances, especially in armor that is heavier than one self.

Two Guards were standing in front, and two more were coming forth from the entrance of the Barracks. Now was the time to strike! He rushed past the first two Skeletal Champions who delivered strong blows against Dom's armor, but he continued forward regardless bring all four in a nice little circle around him. Then in three fell swoops of his blade all were demolished into bone dust and his lost health had been restored what seemed like four times the amount in speed healing than it dropped.

Now with a new group of Skeleton Champions deader than a door nail, the Dreadnought flipped Despair onto his shoulder much like he did with the Scarecrow's Sickle, Gram, Duskreaver, and even the Boarspine Greatsword that he had first gained when ripping the spine of a boar out when he killed it. He looked back on the fighting memories he had gained during his time in Aincrad, "Man, everyone has such issues about being trapped in this virtual death game. But this is the greatest thing that has ever happened in my entire life. I wouldn't give up this life for anything." He told himself as he looked back at the entrance and advanced forward to fight more mobs.

He slowly entered the barracks, there was obvious holes in the roof he looked around looking at the walls and seeing carvings and markings upon the wall. He looked around to notice there were some docile skeletons that seemed to have some life still in them but the angry spirits that reside within the Undead Champions are not present, "Looks like the enemies are further down in the depths of the dungeon." He told himself. He tapped inside his armor to bring out the Phoenix Whelp, "Ready for another long farming session Amethyst?" He asked the bird which flew around in circles expressing it's happiness.

Dom would quickly realize looking down the stairwell in the corner of the front room, it was a dark zone but it was still somewhat bright enough to see so there wouldn't be a penalty to sight. Amethyst would be perfect with his realization, the bird is a source of light itself and would make the area bright enough to be able to prepare for anything around him. He looked at the Flaming Phoenix and gave it a nod, "Lets do this Amethyst." The bird nodded it's head to his statement, then they proceeded to descend into the depths of the Ashen Barracks to fight the creatures of the realm.

After having reached the bottom of the stairs, the room opened up into a very large mess hall. What Dom didn't realize was at the base of the stairs were a group of Skeleton Champions just like that stood at the entrance of the building. Two of them struck, one happened to to miss completely. Dom turned around and cleaved through the entire group before the other two could strike. At the end of the swing the skeletons exploded into data particles, after which he slid his blade into it's scabbard.

Dom walked up to a table and sat down next to a docile skeleton soldier, he looked close at the lack of a spirit inside the skeleton. It was rather fascinating that there was a very small white non-bright light that sat in the center of each eye socket which would signify it's actual eyes. He sat back up and leaned against the table thinking about the skeletons that had had fought already, "I think it is rather interesting that these creatures have large red eyes that is attached to the evil spirits that control the inside of the monster. And that these ones have white docile eyes instead, I wonder if they become giant red eyes if I hit them?" He asked the phoenix.

The little whelp was doing a mass amount of actions as an attempt to converse with it's master, what also helped proved this thought was the fact that Amethyst was chirping like a mad man. All Dom could do was laugh, he had absolutely no idea what the bird was trying to convey to him, but it was rather important so he gave the little guy all of his attention. He had no fears that enemies could even harm him down in the depths, even if they did happen to chunk off a massive amount of health it wouldn't matter. One single cleave or even his Healing Fog would cover anything he had lost in health.

After a few minutes Amethyst finally stopped chatting and flapped exhaustedly back onto Dom's shoulderplate, "Well that was quite the statement you made there Amethyst. We can continue on after that?" He laughed knowing that the bird was too tired to keep flying. The little phoenix whelp pecked him lightly in the neck, to which he covered his neck, "Okay! Okay, I won't pick on you anymore. Let's get to it though, take this time to relax on my shoulder which is what you're going to do anyways." He laughed, which in turn made Amethyst peck him in the neck again.

Dom got up from the table and continued to the back of the barracks running into another group, before the four champions could even have a chance at fighting. Dom cleaved through them like they were butter, he spun his blade after destroying them and collecting on the increased amount of col and materials then dropped said blade upon his shoulder. He continued forward like it were completely normal whistling the whole way through, going along with a tune he regularly hummed and whistled.

After having slaughtered another froup of enemies, he looked at the time and the amount of col he had accumulated up until this point, "I have a feeling that this is going slower than anticipated, you know Amethyst?" He asked hos partner in crime. The bird nodded, then they both simultaneously shrugged their shoulders and continued forward as if everything were pointless.

Seven more levels, was what all Dom could think about. Only seven levels to go before he hit the farming jackpot, his one issue when it came to farming is that he was tapped out on energy after a single aoe attack. He could still so some serious damage in a one on one battle, but his energy would be dangerously low to deal with another group. All he needed was a little more maximum energy to keep a farming spree going.

He couldn't stop thinking about the possibilities about what he could do with just a little more maximum stamina, "If only I had a little more energy, I could literally double my col and material farming rate with the type of creatures I am able to completely annihilate!" He exclaimed, he turned his attention to his faithful familiar, "Do you understand how much mula and mats that would be able to generate me in such a short amount of time!?" He exclaimed his question, to which the bird shook it's head. Since it didn't understand.

After having finished asking his question to the obviously confused bird. Dom turned a corner to find a group of skeleton champions walking away from him. He stepped forward quickly activating his best aoe sword art as per usual. Realizing quickly that he was going to miss if he started his swing now, he concentrated on the group and focused his pathing and ensured that all would be hit by his blade. Afterwhich the entire group turned to particles.

Dom looked up at the ceiling to see the time on his visual HuD, he looked closely at the time and turned around, "I have been down here for far too long. Time to go take my rewards back to the Guild Hall. Also the guards at the very front should have respawned by now anyways." He told himself, he yawned and stretched, "Let's go Amethyst, I think you deserve to have a nice new bed made just for you." He chuckled as the bird chirped happily.

He continued forward wondering if there were any sub dungeons in this floor. And if so, what would they be like? Caverns? Dungeons? Castles? There were an infinite amount of possibilities that it could be. He loved the detail that was put into this game, no two sub dungeons were the same. They might loosely have the same layout, but ultimately the set up and possible movement able to be had were far different from each other.
